Chapter 1,045: The Paranormal Brighton.

(September 8. The Town of Brighton.)

A MCV is on the move, and escorted by some FutureTech forces, and above in the sky are two Netherdrakes, and a Frost Wyrm, and a special Ops Dropship, and they are all inbound to one place, and it doesn't seem too far, and they go through the history report of what this town is about. Lincoln and Linka on their Netherdrakes and hearing them through their comlink, from the dropship they are flying next to. Luna Frost is high above, and keeping an eye on the skies and the ground.

The ones onboard are: Jordan, Martin, Victor, Ember, Peter Sharp, Sam and Neil, and then Sam Livewire asks. "So, what do we know about this town called Brighton?"

Martin then goes through the information they got. "In the 1800s, the town was known for its hero, Sally Tugbottom, who saved the town from a tornado and even tamed a wild bear. Unfortunately, her cowardly younger brother Ezekiel took all the credit and claimed himself as the town hero in her place."

"Then some freaky tornado came and nearly wrecked the town, then the statue of the fake founder was removed from that madness, and the real statue of the founder was placed, and the town has been reeducated to the full truth, and all thanks to someone named... Molly McGee, and she moved into town with her family months ago, and are living peacefully there."

"The town seems to be a town of misery and not the best and brightest moments, but now it is turning up good and good vibes are coming back, and thanks to some odd stuff going down, and good work from two figures. Molly McGee and this girl named Andrea Davenport, and get this guys, she doesn't seem keen when folks mispronounce her name."

Linka. "Then, how do we say her name when we do run into her? Also, what the heck is she? Some rich chick?"

Martin goes through her files. "Her name is pronounced, Un-Drea and her parents run a business called, the Davenport Store, and she was even seen to help make commercials with a catchy jingle, and likewise I don't care. Andrea is a 13 year old from the Brighton Middle School and she streams, like a lot. Someone must have an ego, and yeah... she is rich."

Lincoln. "Wow! This is something familiar. So, where do we land down?"

"About... Now!" Neil then contacts their forces. "All forces, halt advance, and begin the setup. We will head into town, and see what is going on." The Dropship then proceeds forward and heads into the town of Davenport, and with its aerial support, and they spot the mayor's place, near the town hall and so it lands down at a large open space.

They all come out, and meet with Mayor Stu Brunson and he is nervous about meeting these people. "Hello, and welcome to..."

"We know where we are dude" replied Luna Frost, she then looks around. "This place seems calm, and I thought there'd be folks coming to greet us too. Well, that's a first."

"Well, everyone else has busy things, and school has just gone out and I believe we are expecting the Davenports, and they should be here soon." they then spot the car of the Davenport family. "And here they are, FutureTech and heroes, these are the Davenports..."

"Yes, good to meet with the man who runs the largest manufacturing empire on the planet, and possibly the rest of the universe!" Maxwell Davenport gets in between Martin and the Mayor, but Martin is on his tablet. "Sir, it would be great if we spoke business elsewhere and..."

"I don't care about business. We are here for something else." Martin then sees something. "Coordinates confirmed. Sharps, head out now! These are the coordinates, now ride!"

Peter, Ember and Sam see the location. "On it!" Peter Sharp turns his sword into a bike, and he rides with Ember, and then Sam travels through the electrical power lines, and they ride off, and this is something that amazed a lot of folks, they don't get much news from the outside, well sometimes they do, mostly the musical performers they recall from the past. Andrea is going through her phone and she sees the young Royal Defenders.

Andrea Davenport - Andrea is a young, fair-skinned teenage girl of medium height with waist-length, light blue hair which fades to purple and has one blue streak on the right side of her hair, freckles under her eyes, brown eyebrows, and light brown eyes. She wears purple eyeshadow. Andrea wears a bright pink hoodie, a purple skirt held with a pink belt, maroon leggings, and white whine-heeled boots.

Andrea then goes near Lincoln, Linka and Jordan and she is live streaming. "Hi Fan-Dreas, I am here now with the famous Royal Defenders, and I gotta say that they are awesome and..." she turns around and sees that they are walking away from her. "Hey wait! Can't we just have a small interview about..."

Lincoln whistles and his Netherdrake lands, and so does Linka's, and they take off. "We'll be watching the skies, and seeing if crime is looming here, though it seems like dulls-ville."

"We'll be on ground level." Jordan rides her Indoraptor, and the beast roars in front of Andrea, freaking her out, and they take off, and Luna Frost makes an ice road and she too heads off. The Dropship then transforms into a Bulldog Scout vehicle, and the rest hop in and they drive off. Apparently, that Dropship was Jack Cyber.

The Davenport's, and the mayor are left alone, and confused, and they were hoping to talk or tour them around the town, but it seems like they have something else in mind here.

(McGee House.)

Meanwhile, we see Sam Sharp land in front of the house, and he turns to her normal self and she looks around. "Huh, this seems like a very decent neighborhood. I wonder what the heck is going on here?" she then sees the gutters. "Ew, they need to clean that out." She then sees her parents arrive. "Well, nothing seems off about this place."

Peter Sharp gets off and he looks around. "Hmmm, well something is happening here and we need to find this paranormal thing, I am surprised that Leon and Sergei don't wanna take part in this."

"For obvious reasons..." ember then continues. "They don't wanna turned inside out, or get nearly killed by something of a dangerous ghost, but we don't even know what the heck we're even facing. So, we should... Wait, you sense that, darling?"

They sense something, and then Peter Sharp looks to the window, and son of the family see him and the kid is using a flashlight to look scary and they both get startled, the son of the family is named, Darryl McGee.

Darryl McGeeHe is an 11-year-old Thai-American boy. He is the little brother of Molly McGee and the son of Pete and Sharon McGee. Darryl is a Thai-American boy, shorter than Molly, medium-length brown hair which goes slightly upwards, and large black pupils in soft almond eyes. Darryl wears a dark green sweater over an orange hoodie, which is over a white shirt. He also wears blue and gray shorts, with white socks with and pale blue and dark blue slides.

Darryl is a bit of a troublemaker, but he has the same good intentions as the rest of the McGee family (especially his older sister, Molly, who seems to be the only "good influence" willing to put up with him). He's constantly looking for ways to assist people, but he tries to be "unethical" about it since he feels regulations prevent youngsters from having fun... well, that, and he didn't realize until lately that instructors, like everyone else, have feelings. Furthermore, he is a bit of an oddball with a unique perspective on the world, but despite the fact that his peculiar thought process and rebellious temperament sometimes get him in trouble, he never really means any harm; he's just being himself.

"What the heck?!" Peter Sharp then gets up, and so Sam heads over, and she knocks on the door, and soon enough the ones answering it are the parents of the house.

Pete McGee - He is the father of Molly and Darryl McGee and the husband of Sharon McGee. Pete can be described as anxiously optimistic, as shown when he was nervous about his daughter's opinion on their new home, but was overjoyed when she liked the place. He can also be described as accepting, as he let Molly befriend the strange ghost living in their attic, because Molly reminded him that the McGee's don't view people how they are on the outside, "Shouldn't we do the same for ghosts?".

Sharon McGeeShe is the mother of Molly and Darryl McGee, and the wife of Pete. Sharon has the brains of a lawyer and the nerves of a dragon, but she has the heart, soul, and talent of an artist, which she repressed for a long time due to the thought that her mother was mad at her for dropping out of law school in favor of art classes. When the truth came out, however, her passion as both a painter and a sculptor really began to shine when she isn't doing odd jobs to pay the bills and revive the family's savings account.

"Hello, can we help you?" But Pete knows who this man is. "Wait, Peter Sharp!" He then sees the daughter, and the ghost he married. "Wait, what the heck are you guys doing here?"

Sharon then asks. "Does this have something to do with something we don't have that is not a fake thing?" she might be talking about the counterfeit renaissance paintings, and she really wants to know about that from her son, Darryl.

Ember then speaks. "We are here to track down some paranormal activity, and we don't mean the film."

Pete shudders. "Those movies gave me the heeby jeebies!" Sharon and Darryl didn't like that these folks are asking about a dangerous ghost, but there is only one ghost here, and he is not that dangerous.

Sam is confused. "We just wanna know if there has been any dangerous..." then someone comes down the stairs, and it is Molly McGee.

Molly McGeeMolly is a Thai-American teenage girl of medium height, medium-length brown hair, and dark brown almond-shaped eyes. She wears her hair up in a short ponytail with a pink hairband. Molly wears a ripped jean vest with a teal pin, a white and black ringer shirt, a pink and purple skirt, and black biker shorts, and a pink hairband. She wears pink and yellow sneakers. She also has a purple spiral bracelet. Molly has a catchphrase called "Sweet baby corn" that she usually says whenever she's overjoyed, sad or shocked.

Molly is an optimistic Thai-American girl, who lives to make the world a better place. She loves to give hugs and owns up quickly and tries to fix her mistakes, and is very imaginative. She is also energetic and caring to her friends. She is Scratch's Curse!

Molly has a hatred of magicians, as she believes they are frauds and do not use actual magic. Molly doesn't like Maple Syrup because, according to Scratch, it tastes like "a tree's tears". Molly keeps a box full of things that make her unhappy in her bedroom, which she promised herself never to open unless it was an emergency. When such a time actually came (via needing to use her own sorrow as Sobgoblin bait) it was revealed that one of those items was a poster of a kitten hanging from a tree.

Molly, while normally fearless, has things she's afraid of, like everybody else. Among those things are being alone, Darryl's pet tarantula Heidi Hairy legs, and the high possibility of Heidi having numerous spider babies. She also finds her childhood doll, Baby Jesse, unnervingly creepy, and wasted no time putting that particular toy into the donation bag the first chance she was given... and tossing that bag out the window. Molly's fear of tarantulas hint she may have arachnophobia.

"Guys! You would not believe who the heck... Wait, they're here?!" She sees the folks at the door. Then she goes over. "Sweet Baby corn it is the members of the Royal Defenders! Well, not the whole team, and such... but this is fine!" she then hands a notebook, which Peter, Ember and Sam sign. "We heard all about you guys, and my little bro has this small crush on Jordan."

Darryl turns red. "What? No! I mean, she is already... Taken." He seems miserable, and Sharon goes over to calm him down.

Then Pete speaks to Molly. "Moll, apparently they are here about a ghost, which doesn't exist, right?"

Molly realizes this and she goes along. "Right, there is no ghost here. Just us, the McGee's and no signs of any ghost here. So, you guys can get going." But they can tell that something is up, something that they are not telling them.

"Are you guys alright?" asked Ember.

"Yeah, yeah. We're fine, why wouldn't we be?" said Molly, but then someone phases through the wall, and it is Scratch.

"Guys, I don't wanna point any fingers, but I did see the culprit of the ice cream eating was a cat, from outside and definitely not me." Scratch then wipes away the cookies and cream from his face, and then he burps. "So, who the heck are these guys?"

ScratchScratch is a light blue ghost. He has green teeth, a large light blue nose, and yellow-green eyes with small black pupils and a purple tongue. He has wrinkles on his forehead, inner cheeks and under his eyes. Scratch's body is translucent and typically appears lumpy but he is able to change in shape and size when he wants to, for example when attempting to scare Molly and her family. His color appears more translucent while he is invisible, meaning he is only visible to the people he chooses. He has been shown to be able to give himself legs and manifest bugs onto his body.

Scratch is a grumpy, anti-heroic ghost whose joy comes from spreading misery. When one of his spells backfired, he finds himself forever cursed in Molly's presence. He is described by Molly to be lazy, grumpy, and hungry. Additionally, before the McGee family arrived in Brighton, he was largely a loner and greatly values his privacy, showing tremendous embarrassment and ire whenever Molly cuts into his personal time. Despite being bound to her for all eternity, Scratch remains determined to scare Molly and her family away for good.

Later on, in the series however, he seems to start to warm up to Molly and her family, showing a softer, almost parental stance towards the McGee family, stating he's a "McGee adjacent" and returning their affection.

They all remain quiet, and then Molly chuckles nervously. "Oh look, my cousin from Canada who has this odd..."

"Kid, that is a ghost, and I doubt you can fool us" replied Peter Sharp. "You guys have a lot to explain."

(Later in the Day.)

We now see the rest of the team, and all of them gathered at the Living Room of the house, the McGee house and they have been given some food and drinks, and they are enjoying this snack, and all while listening to the story which is called... The Ghost and Molly McGee.

They hear that it all started when the McGee's: Pete, Sharon, Molly and Darryl moved into town, and then Molly found the ghost, and she wasn't even scared of him, and she thought he could be her friend, and no matter what he tried to do to scare her, it never works.

The whole thing ended up with Scratch putting a curse on her, but apparently that just made things worse, and now he is her friend forever, and when she calls his name, then Scratch is teleported towards her location, and he does some help, and there is one who knows of his existence besides the rest of the family, and that would be Molly's best friend, Libby.

Then Peter Sharp asks. "So, Scratch is cursed to you, forever?"

Scratch is nervous, because after the incident where the McGee's were kicked out of the house, the whole curse is over. Molly then nods. "Yeah, it is true. He is cursed to me, and we are the very best of friends. Well, i have two best friends, Libby counts as my other best friend too."

Scratch sighs. "At first I thought she was gonna be trouble for me, literally nothing can scare her." then he recalls about the whole box filled with the things Molly is scared of, and that she hates magic, then he speaks. "But, as time goes by... I just kinda... Learned something, that they aren't so bad and Molly... Is a good friend."

This makes Molly happy, and she hugs Scratch and so does Libby, and this makes Scratch sigh. "Well, this is something I can barely tolerate..." then he smirks. "Well, this is still nice too." He then hugs them, and this makes the other smile and then Martin scans the ghost, and then goes through his scans.

"Doesn't seem to be a major issue guys. This paranormal anomaly is just a moderately scary little guy, and not some big time issue. That means, we have nothing to fear from this little guy." the others are glad to hear this, and this upsets scratch.

"What?! What do you mean you have nothing to fear?! Watch this!" He then turns large, everything changes to this creepy color, and Scratch looks putrid with ecto-slime, and he has a menacingly sinister voice.

"I AM THE GREATEST THING TO BE FEARED! FOR I AM THE ONE WHO HAUNTS AND SCARES ALL WHO DARES TO EVER COME NEAR ME! I AM BRIGHTON'S MOST FEARED AND MOST TERRIFYING!"

They all don't seem scared, but then Molly speaks. "He is so adorable."

Libby chuckles. "And also very dramatic, such work with words."

Sam then speaks. "Well, it does look like something folks who haven't seen you would be scared of, but we have seen things scarier than that, and one of them is the deep vacuum of space."

"That is when we have no ship to move around" replied Jordan, and she doesn't feel comfortable with Darryl looking at her with hearts in his eyes, and so she stands by her boyfriend, Lincoln. "Scratch, there is no need for that anymore. Seems like we won't be cleaning up the ghostly mess."

Scratch then calms down. "Huh, really? So, no one is gonna try and bust me?"

Linka is confused. "Do we look like the ghost busters? We don't wanna put you away or send you off. Seems best you can continue to live your life here, and enjoy the McGee's, as long as you are only doing the normal ghost scare thing, Scratch."

Scratch sighs in relief. "Good, because I am so in need of some ice-cream, again." He then leaves for the kitchen, but then he goes back. "Don't go anywhere, we have some other stuff to talk about, and one of them is when we saved the town and found the real founder, saving Christmas in Brighton, the day Libby and I fought to see who would be Molly's best friend, and a lot of other stuff."

They all at Molly and the others, they have a lot to tell them, then Scratch comes back with a tub of ice-cream. "Also, did you guys know that Molly hates magic?"

They all look towards Molly and she seems ticked off. "Magicians are not real, they aren't even magic! They are just a bunch of lying, and cheating folks who are money grubbing..." they continue to hear her angry and rant about magicians, and the others are very concerned about this.

Lincoln whispers to the others. "Glad Gyro is not here, otherwise he might be screwed and attacked." The others also agree.

"To be continued on September 12."

A/N: Now they know that this ghost is not a threat, and everything seems to be alright now. At least scratch has his own issues and life, but chances they might need help for when a big issue shows up, and it would involve the ghost world. Enjoy reading this new chapter everyone.
