Chapter 2 Part 2: Friends and Pain
"So, what are you going to do "heroes?" Tauntly asked Ryan as he pushed the barrel into Pony's head further.
In all honesty, Kirishima didn't know what to do. It felt like that moment when he saw that tall villain threatening those two middle school girls. 'Come on Kirishima think! You got accepted into UA and got put into the hero course, there has to be something you can do!' He thought to himself running through all the ideas he could think of.'
"Sir, we don't have a chainsaw but we do have dag... 'WHAM!' Was all the round man could say as he got slammed into the back of the truck with great force.
"Ryan Moore, you are under arrest for deceiving the public, murder, and holding a hero student hostage." Said Zack as he retracted his shadow arm to his side. By his side were Kan and Aizawa in their fighting stances.
"What! How the hell did..." Exclaimed Ryan as he felt something tap his shoulder. He then looked back towards the students to see... a hand flipping him off? "What the fu... AH!" The floating hand had poked him in the eyes making his hand shift and the gun move from Pony's head to the side. Pony then bit him making him release her.
"Kirishima, Tetsutetsu, he can't see now, take your shot!" She exclaimed as both boys then charged at Ryan. As Ryan removed his hand from his eyes he saw fists at the last second and got sent flying into the truck's side.
"Ha, how do you like that you creep!" Exclaimed Setsuna as Kan and Aizawa rushed over to the students.
"Are you alright?" Asked Kan.
"Yes sensei, were fine, maybe a little frightened, but were fine." Answered Tetsutetsu.
"While that is great, just what made you think to take the back entrance through an alleyway?" Questioned Aizawa with a look of annoyance.
As Aizawa was asking the students his question, Zack made a group of shadows surround Ryan as he went inside the truck to round up his henchman. "Alright, come on out quick and easy and I promise that you won't get more hurt than you are." He said carefully as he searched around the furniture. 'I don't get it how can someone that big hide in such a narrow space?' Thought Zack. He then used Aura Sight to find the man and when he did he saw someone getting out of the passenger's side of the truck. Zack then pressed his hand to his ear. "Aizawa, there's three of them!" He exclaimed as a creaking sound was heard. Zack looked toward the sound's location and saw a thin man standing there. "Sir, are you alright?" As he asked this the man looked at him with a smile as he took a deep breath.
A minute before...
"That is incredibly stupid." Said Aizawa as Setsuna rubbed her arm and looked down in shame.
"Easy, Aizawa, at least everyone is alright." Replied Kan. Before Aizawa could say something though his earpiece buzzed.
"Aizawa, there's three of them" Exclaimed Zack as Aizawa went eyes widen and turned to see a man next to Ryan.
"Don't even try it!" Shouted Aizawa as he activated his quirk looking at the man. The man turned and Aizawa noticed he was wearing a strange gas mask.
"Relax, I just came around the corner." Said Danny as he raised his hands in the air. "I'm a hero that was on patrol and heard the ruckus coming from the alleyway and decided to investigate." As he said this Ryan crawled on and lay flat on the concrete away from the truck.
"Or you could be the person that my colleague just told me about." He said interrogating the man, while he was holding his capture scarf.
"Maybe, but, what exactly are the..." Before he could finish his sentence spikes came flying out of the truck and Danny had hit the dirt before being pierced by one of them. Aizawa just moved in time to avoid becoming a fish kabob, Kan grabbed Pony and jumped to the ground before being pierced by them, Kirishima and Tetsutetsu stood their ground holding their quirk as it just bounced off them. Kirishima felt a little pain as Tetsutetsu just shook it off.
"Woo, that was close, right Set?" Cheered Tetsutetsu waiting for Setsuna's response, but, it never came. He then turned quickly to see Setsuna gripping her shoulder... or where her shoulder would be. "SETSUNA!" He shouted going over to her. As he did he noticed people in shock across the street staring... at Setsuna's severed arm, but, there wasn't any blood coming out of the shoulder, some coming out of the spot her arm got hit by the spike, but, not the shoulder.
"I'm... okay." She stuttered in fear showing no blood coming from where her arm used to be.
As Ryan got off the ground the rounded man came flying out of the truck with a shadow arm slamming him into a wall and knocking him unconscious. Zack then jumped out of the truck to see the strangest sight of Ryan sticking his arm down his throat and pulling out... "Is that a... 'BANG!' Was all he could say as he used the Shadow Shield he made to protect himself from the rounded man's quirk to block the gun blast.
"A shotgun." Replied Ryan with a smile. "Having an anglerfish quirk has its perks."
'Anglerfish quirk!' Thought Aizawa. 'That means their quirks are mutation related and mine doesn't have any effect.' He then flung his scarf at the two men only for Danny to smack it away.
"I think it's time to leave." Said Danny as he pulled on his gloves and then extend his wrist's to his sides.
"What about him and the body?" Asked Ryan as police sirens were heard.
"Leave them." Said Danny as gas began to pour out of his wrist quickly. Aizawa and the others covered their faces as the gas came their way. As Aizawa tried to see through the gas with his goggles but, couldn't see Danny or Ryan.
"Zack... I'm on it." Said Aizawa as Zack instantly replied and began to chase Danny and Ryan.
As the two were running, Ryan looked back and saw Zack with purple wings chasing him. "Well damn, no wonder that brat is the number one hero of Japan if he could catch up to us this quick!" He exclaimed with surprise and fear. Danny then looked forward and saw a man get into his car around the corner.
"Not for long." Said Danny as he sprayed more of the gas at Zack as they rounded the corner. Zack protected his eyes with his arm as he landed and turned down the corner to catch up with them. As he did he couldn't see anyone in front of him.
"Damn." Said Zack as he put his hand to his earpiece. "I lost them Aizawa." As he left, Danny looked through the rear window of the car they hijacked as the man drove it with Ryan holding the shotgun at the man's side.
"We're in the clear." Said Danny as he pulled up his phone to text their boss.
"Please, I did as you ask, don't kill me." Said the man with tears going down his face.
"Not until you take us to our base." Said Ryan shoving the shotgun into his side further.
"And then?" He asked Ryan.
"We might let you live, depending on your quirk and how you view animal quirks." He said with a grin.
Meanwhile with Izuku and the gang...
Izuku was ecstatic! Not just because he learned what Eric's quirk is and gave him some ideas on how to improve it, but, because there were so many people using their quirks in public for their job or just to give people entertainment for instance, one man was using his ice quirk to make snow cones as another was weightlifting benches with people on them.
"Wow, I was right, you are a quirk nerd." Said Eric with a smile as he was eating some fries.
"Hey, don't call Izuku names like that!" Exclaimed Itsuka with an angry look on her face.
"Oh no, I'm not insulting him, I'm giving him a compliment." Said Eric quickly correcting her.
"That's good to hear." Said Ida as he placed his orange juice on the table. "I thought we misjudged your character for a second."
"...Did you go to a private school because that would explain so many questions I have?" He asked Ida with an eyebrow raised.
"WELL FUCK YOU TOO, YOU RACIST BASTARD!" Shouted Mina as the girls came out of a clothing store. The gang turned to see Mina and Jiro in a huff as Reiko, Momo, Toga, and Toru were calming down Tsu.
"What happened!" Exclaimed Itsuka as she got up from her seat.
"That store and its employees are racist pricks, that's what." Said Jiro as she was twirling a jack.
"Another racism slur!" Exclaimed Ida as he stood up in shock as Izuku gripped his fists.
"Worse!" Exclaimed Mina as she slammed her hand down on the table. "When we trying on clothes one of the male employees went into Tsu's changing booth and tried to rape her saying that frogs breed around this time of year and laid his hands on her!" That got Izuku to rise out of his seat and was about to march to the store when Eric grabbed him.
"Look I know you want to pound someone's face in, but, believe me, no matter how tempting it is, it's better to let the police deal with it." Said Eric looking dead into Izuku's eyes. "You did call the police right?" He asked Mina.
"Damn yes, we did!" She yelled.
"That employee even had the nerve to laugh and say it wouldn't do any good!" Said Toru holding Tsu who was still crying. "We even told his boss were hero students in training from UA and he had the nerve to laugh at us!"
"And that's not even the worse thing they did." Said Reiko as she glared at the store a female employee with a black eye was putting on a sign with a picture of a cat with a rejected symbol over it on one of the windows.
"I take it that bitch has something to do with the worse part?" Asked Itsuka gripping her nails into her palms.
"Damn right, she does!" Exclaimed Toga rubbing her fist. "She acted so nice and sweet toward Tsu until she asked to show her quirk. When Tsu refused, she had the nerve to grab her tongue and made her lick her shoe! I wanted to stab her so bad but, I knew Izu wouldn't like that so I punched her." She said as Izuku blushed from the nickname she gave him.
"The only reason they took our threat seriously is when I pulled my family name and offered to give us the clothes we wanted for free." Said Momo. "I asked Nejire to go call Miss. Midnight, but, she hasn't returned yet."
"So that's why Nejire senpai went into the restroom area so quickly." Said Ida remembering seeing her.
As the conversation continued Jurota, Tokoyami, and Shoji arrived after visiting a store on the second floor of the mall. Needless to say, they didn't have a pleasant shopping experience either. When they went to check out, the cashier tried to increase the price on them, but, Jurota noticed it and said that they must have made a mistake. The cashier then pointed to a small sign saying that those with animal-related mutations pay double. Not wanting an argument they left their stuff there and left as Shoji got a message from Mina talking about what happened at the clothing store, so with a heavy sigh, he went back in and bought a bottle of water for twenty dollars, most likely because they left the cashier with stuff to put back after showing their outrageous policy and left.
"What is with this place!" Exclaimed Toru as she stomped her foot on the ground. "First there's that guy who told Tsu to kill herself and now this bullshit at the mall! What is this racist central!?"
"New York wasn't always like this." Said Eric as he was eating his fries again. "It treated its animal quirk users with more decency than today."
"What the hell happened that made a whole city despise and treat us like this?" Asked Tsu.
"The Wild Ones." Said a detective in a long light brown coat. The detective had white hair with orange on the edges, his eyes were a deep dark brown, had a scruffy beard, and black swayed shoes.
"Wick, long time no see." Said Eric placing the empty fries container on the table.
"Eric," replied Wick giving him a nod. "I'd ask if you made the 911 call, but, it was a woman's voice that called it in." He then turned to the clothing store and noticed the sign. "I take it they put that up before we go here, correct?" He asked the group as he waved police officer's toward the store.
"That's correct, sir." Said Reiko. "But, how do you know, Eric?"
"Hmph, she not hesitate to ignore details is she?" He questioned Eric.
"Well, from the small amount of time I have known her, yes, yes she is." Replied Eric. "And as for how he knows me, I have a friend who gives me details about The Wild Ones to give to Wick here."
"So you're an informant?" Asked Momo.
"Pretty much." He answered stretching his arms backward more farther than anyone could do to his quirk.
"So these Wild Ones must be a villain organization I take it." Said Ida.
"I wouldn't give them such satisfaction to call them villains, more like street punks that need to be taken care of." Said Wick taking out a notepad. "Now before we go any further I'd like to have the names of everyone involved." After introductions, they began to tell Dective Wick about what happened, by the end of the discussion he was disgusted needless to say. "Alright, thanks for your testimonies." He said as he looked at Tsu, he then pulled a small kit out of his pocket. "Now, I won't do this ma'am if you don't want to, but, I need a DNA sample from your tongue to stick to the female employee if you want her to be convicted."
"Is alright if I do it sir?" Asked Momo.
"Normally, I wouldn't mind if you were licensed heroes, but, since you aren't, I have to do it." Replied Wick.
"What if Momo had her own kit to use?" Asked Izuku.
"No offense, but, there is no way you have a... done." Explained Wick as Momo interrupted him with a DNA test in hand.
"...How did you get one so quick?" He asked Momo with a confused look.
"It's because of my quirk sir," Said Momo as she opened the case and took out the cotton swab, and began to swab Tsu's tongue. "If I know the structure of the item I can create any non-living item or material." She then placed the swab back into the case carefully and gave it to the detective.
"...This breaks so much protocol, but, I'll say the victim felt more comfortable with a woman doing the test." Said Wick as he put it in his pocket. "What is it with you Eric finding the strangest company all the time?"
"Who wants to live a normal boring life?" Replied Eric with a grin.
"I'd like one, but, I have to make a living." He said with a glare.
"Damn, who shoved a stick up your ass this time?" Asked Eric jokingly.
"That is not how you talk to a detective!" Said Ida as he chopped his arm up and down.
"...A robot quirk?" Asked Wick as Ida gave a shocked hurt look with a sweatdrop dripping down his head.
"Ironically no." Said Eric. "Now back to your bad day."
"If you must know, my hit lead was just killed by The Silent Horror." He answered grabbing a cigarette.
"The dude who knew why Simon Ackerman has been missing for this long?" Replied Eric with a serious look.
"The Silent Horror?" Asked Izuku.
"A hitman that works for The Wild Ones." Answered Wick as he was grabbing something from his pocket. "Every kill this fucker makes is always graphic to make sure no one snitches on them."
"Do you have any hits on where this hitman could be?" Asked Momo with curiosity.
"That's the thing that's what makes this guy so dangerous." He replied pulling out a folded picture. "And thanks to them I have to inform another family that their father is never coming back." As he said this he opened the picture and showed it to them. "This is Gregory Adams, he worked with the National Bank of New York as their relationship manager for a good twelve years." The picture showed a half-bald man with brown curly hair on the sides of his head, his eyes were brown, and he wore an average business suit with a blue tie and glasses. Now Wick wasn't expecting any of the hero kids to speak up, but, he noticed Izuku's reaction. Izuku's face was pale with shock including his friends as if they had seen a ghost, and Eric just turned away with his fist quietly pounding on the table. "You've seen him?"
"...It was on the way to the mall." Said Shoji. "He tried to trip Tsu, but Midorya caught her. I then went to confront him and he said... something very disrespectful."
"I'm aware of Adams's view on animal quirk users kid." He said to Shoji as he snapped his fingers to light his cigarette. "What happened after that?"
"I confronted him after he told Tsu to..." Said Izuku as stopped for a second. "Anyways as I was arguing with him, Eric noticed us and managed to disperse the crowd. After that, he apologized for his actions due to him having a bad experience and left." Wick looked at Izuku for a minute and then went to his notepad to jot down his notes.
"Was anyone following him?" He asked Izuku. Everybody was silent until Itsuka spoke up.
"Honestly sir, we don't know." She said with an apologetic tone. "We were too busy reacting to Midorya's sudden reaction to the man's comment to notice any suspicious individuals."
"What about you Eric?" He asked the teen.
"I didn't see any of the Wild Ones goons, but, they could have been hiding around the corner waiting for the argument to stop." He said as he waved his hand in a circle. Wick then sighed as he grabbed the burnt end of his cigarette and put it out and threw it away in a nearby garbage can.
"Well, thanks anyways, kids." He said putting his notepad away. He then looked at Tsu with a look of concern. "As for you, it would be best to go to a hospital and have a nurse do a rape kit."
"But, he didn't even get to assault me, kero." Said Tsu drying her eyes.
"It's standard procedure, ma'am." Said Wick. Before anyone could say anything else Nejire came out of the restroom with a concerned look.
"Nejire-Senpai, what's wrong!?" Exclaimed Momo worried for her friend.
"I just got done talking with Zack." Said Nejire as she noticed the Wick.
"I'm Jameson Wick, a private detective who happened to be in the area." He said extending his hand.
"Oh you're a detective, that's great." She said as she grabbed a pen from her purse and grabbed the detective's hand and wrote down the address for the hotel they were staying at. "An incident happened at our hotel with this group called The Wild Ones who injured one of our students from UA."
"WHAT!?" Exclaimed the teens and Eric as he jumped off the table.
"That motherfucker." Grunted Eric as his nails dug into his fists.
"Who got injured, Senpai!" Shouted Tokoyami.
"It was Setsuna, her arm got torn off by a spike!" She said as looks of horror showed on their faces. Jurota was grinding his teeth as Reiko was texting Kinoko if she knew what happened.
"How are her injuries?" Asked Jurota.
"Thankfully, Setsuna activated her quirk just before the spike collided with her." Said Nejire as she was twirling her fingers in nervousness. "There doesn't seem to be any noticeable injuries other than her not getting her arm back, but, thankfully she regrow the body part if something were to happen to it."
"Well, given the address you gave me the nearest hospital would be the Brooklyn Hospital Center." Said Wick. "If you take the subway from here you should reach it in under thirty minutes give or take on the time you arrive at the nearest subway."
"Thank you, sir." Said Nejire as the group began to follow her except Izuku.
"Sorry to cut and run on you Eric, but... don't worry about it, go man go!" Said Izuku until Eric told to head off waving his hand in a go gesture. Izuku nodded and ran after this class.
"...If you truly find them as friends... save it, Wick." Said Eric as he stood next to Wick. "I'm better off being a loner, that way I won't hurt anyone else I care about."
"You didn't know, Eric." Said Wick as he grabbed Eric's shoulder.
"That doesn't change the fact that I have blood on my hands." He said to Wick staring at his own hands before walking away from him.
Meanwhile in an unknown location...
Danny and Ryan had just arrived at their base with members working on products to sell or use for their cause. They then climbed some stairs and knocked on a door in front of them.
"You sure this box is what killed that girl?" Asked Danny as he inspected it.
"Well, she either had a heart condition or some sort of poison was injected into her veins from the box." Answered Ryan as he was tapping his arm. "We would have concrete proof if those stupid kids didn't come down that alleyway as that dumbass dropped the crate showing the dead body which led to their stupid teachers fighting us! How the hell did they even know what was happening!?"
"You really didn't put it together after it poked you in the eyes?" He asked Ryan with a blank stare.
"...That green-haired bitch!" Exclaimed Ryan quietly as he didn't want to interrupt what was going on in the next room. "I thought that was one of the teacher's quirks, but, thinking back to it the only quirk I didn't account for was hers."
"Not all transformation quirks are noticeable, Ryan." Said Danny. As he said that a window shattering was heard followed by a loud thud. Danny and Ryan looked to their left and saw a grunt on the ground dead with their skull split open. The other members just continued working. "It's sad we have gotten used to this." Danny then opened the door and walked in as Ryan stared at the body.
"...Out of all the fucking people we had to talk to other than our boss it had to be M." He said walking into the room.
Now inside both men saw two people and a computer screen facing them. The first one was leaning on the desk, a woman with pure black hair reaching down her back, her crimson eyes staring at the two while a bang covered her right eye, she was dressed in a long red dress with long red gloves, her hand sliding on a fur scarf causing the fur to fall to her black stiletto's. The other was a woman who was floating in midair dressed in a pair of blue jeans with a red tank top and white sneakers, her hair was a violent pink tied into a single ponytail going down her left shoulder as her pink eyes stared at the two men. However, there was one thing Ryan noticed that this woman had on her. Wrapped around her waist was a certain white hoodie.
"Where did you get that?" Asked Ryan pointing to the hoodie.
"Oh, this I had it for the longest time." Said the pinked-haired woman as lift a device from the hoodie's pocket. She then pressed it to her neck. "Maybe this will jog your memory?" She asked as the device changed her voice from feminine to male.
"YOU!" He shouted as his eyes went wide. "DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR LITTLE FUCKING BOX HAS DONE TO MY CON OPERATION BACK AT HOTEL VASILEIO!?"
"Inside voice, Ryan." Said the voluptuous woman as she got off the desk.
"Oh I'm sorry, did a mysterious stranger give you a box and ruined your 100% legal club?" He asked her with rage in her voice. "NO, I DIDN'T THINK SO!"
"How was I supposed to know that you'd give it to a stranger?" Asked the... blue-haired woman as Ryan saw her hair color change along with her eyes. "I didn't think you be silly enough to give it to a random person and they die." She said as her hair went from blue to white.
"You know what, screw it." Said Ryan as pulled out his gun. "I don't care if your some random whore that got recently recruited to our group, your dying."
"What did you call me?" Asked the girl as her hair went to a normal brown the ponytail came undone.
"Ryan, if your smart you'll put the gun away." Said Danny grabbing Ryan's shoulder.
"With all due respect, Danny, your not the one who's been fucked here so your opinion is inval... ACK!" He said to Danny as he felt pressure wrap around his neck. He grabbed for a hand to pull off but noticed there was no hand attached to his throat. He then looked to where the woman was floating and had her hand extended out with a finger pulled back.
"Take it back." She requested with a smile as her hair turned into a burning red. At this point, Ryan had dropped his gun and it began to levitate over to the floating girl. It was then pointed at him with the trigger nudging for a split second. "Well, do you really want to die here and not make a difference for The Wild Ones and every animal quirk user that's suffered under that bastard's rule?"
"Now Miss. Evergreen, I understand your rage, but, please don't kill my workers." Said a gruffed male voice. Everyone's attention was now glued to the computer where a man with the head of an african bush elephant wearing a tuxedo with his human hand flat on the table.
Evergreen looked at Ryan and then release her grip and placed his gun on the table. "You are my client, Mr. Ackerman." Said Evergreen as she moved in front of the computer and bowed for forgiveness. "I just have been called so many names over the years that if I hear just the slightest disrespectful comment, I just can't help but turn that aggression back towards the commenter." She then returned to her floating position moving next to Danny as the voluptuous woman stood next to Ryan.
Ryan then stood up coughing getting air back into his system. "With all due, 'cough,' respect Mr. Ackerman, 'cough,' who the hell is this... woman?" He asked choosing his next words carefully to not have a repeat incident.
"This is our latest benefactor to our cause, Alice Evergreen." Said Simon. "She is also known by our country as America's Little Princess."
"More like a little devil." Mumbled Ryan as Alice chuckled. "What so funny?"
"Oh, if you knew then it wouldn't be funny." She said playing with her hair. "But as my boss says, "I have to be honest to my allies and deceitful to my enemies."
"The fuck is that suppose to mean?" He asked with a glare.
"Mr. Moore, if you can't behave, then leave." Said Simon with a glare. Ryan just stood there staring at Alice with a glare for a moment and turned his head towards his boss's way. "Now that you all are here allow me to explain who this is."
"My apologies, Mr. Ackerman, but, we are missing M." Said Danny.
"M is on an important errand to deal with the disaster that happened at Hotel Vasileo and before you go on again Ryan, this situation is just a small bump to what's to come. He said as he pointed to Ryan to not interrupt. "Miss. Evergreen here is a part of a highly intelligent organization that has made a big mark in the world recently."
"Pfft, the only organization to do that recently is... is what?" Said Ryan as he slowly realized was dealing with as Alice asked her question.
"Now don't just sit there stunned, tell me the organization that recently left a big mark on the world?" She asked again as she floated in front of Ryan with a devilish smirk, her hair turning black as did her eyes only leaving a white dot to tell where she was looking.
"Y, your a, a, a... Devil, yes Ryan, she is." Stuttered Ryan as Simon finished his sentence.
"Why do the True Devils want to help our cause?" Asked Danny getting Alice's attention. "From what I understand they're looking for recruits for whatever their cause is?"
"Oh, that's easy," She said as floated to Danny. "We want what others want."
"Your actions back in Japan seem to indicate something else." Said the voluptuous woman.
"Okay, so there is more to it, but, come on Arielle, you told me your family moved to America to start a new, but, the mayors of this city have always pushed us animal quirk users down saying "We are lowly scum that shouldn't exist or should be used as a mere house pet or something even more undignified." Said Alice with passion with her hair and eye glowing yellow. "And how did they treat your family when they wanted to live a normal life?
"...By shooting them down in a peaceful protest." Said Arielle as she gripped her arms.
"And that's why I as a Devil and animal quirk user myself want to help The Wild Ones to complete their goal." She said spinning in the air.
"So, you have an animal-related quirk like us?" Asked Ryan with doubt on his face.
"Well, I didn't make the toxin that killed your employee by hand." Said Alice. She then reached under her shirt and grabbed something. She then pulled out a brown feather.
"Okay, you're a nightingale, but, they're not venomous." He replied staring at the feather.
"No, but, my father's quirk was a regent whistler." She said as she patted the feather making it go solid. She then threw said feather at a dart board and when it made contact with it the middle of it began to melt. "And when I joined the True Devils my master taught me how to spread the regent whistler's venom to my wings and increase that venom tenfold."
"That doesn't explain the psychic abilities you have." Said Ryan pointing out how she was floating.
"Well, you see, when you add one quirk from a different family to one that is a pure-blooded quirk like my family, you get mutations." Said Alice in an annoyed tone. "Which fucks up the quirk genes by fifty percent of the time and when my dad married my mom who got both of my grandmother's quirks and by some ten percent I got the whole trifecta."

"...And this is the same person that America calls the sweetest songstress in the world their Little Princess?" Questioned Ryan.
"We could go in circles all day with this unnecessary conversation Ryan or you can go join M on that errand." Said Simon as Ryan did a zipper hand motion over his mouth. "That's what I thought." Simon then looked toward Danny. "Danny, you have the box that Alice gave to Ryan, right?"
"Yes sir." Answered Danny as he placed the box on the table.
"This box was a test run to see if the smallest of Alice's poison could kill someone." Simon then pulled up his phone showing a news report about the fight at Hotel Vasileo and the two dead bodies left there. "I assume the girl in this report is who was affected by the poison, correct?"
"Yes sir." Said Ryan. "I would have liked a heads up that this was happening sir, no offense."
"None taken, Mister Moore," Said Simon as he waved his hand. "I was under the assumption that an older gentleman would have been at the reception for that day."
"He was supposed to, but, some family thing happened and he asked me to take his shift." Said Ryan. "When I learned that hero school UA was coming I figured I could make us some serious cash. It would have gone well if you know who hadn't butted his head in."
"Yes, I'm aware of Eric's interference in some of our smaller operations." Said Simon as he scrolled through his phone. "This is, however, the first time he messed with a base of operations."
"To be fair, it was a dumb con that Ryan was pulling and not what goes on there." Said Arielle as Ryan shouted in disagreement but was ignored. "Though, I have to wonder why Eric is still alive?"
"Because no matter what he does he can never change the past." He said as he grabbed a framed photo and stared at it. "If that's all on the matter we need to act on our plan if we want to take our vengeance on all those who harmed us." Simon then put the photo down and stared at Alice's box. "And we have all the pieces to make it happen."
Meanwhile at the hospital...
Mina, Itsuka, Momo, Pony, and Tsu were sitting in Sersuna's hospital bedroom chatting with her. They told her how Midorya stood up for Tsu, how they were able to thank Eric for what he did back at the hotel, and the incident at the mall.
"I still can't believe that Midorya, of all people, lost their temper." Said Setsuna scratching her leg.
"Yeah, you should have seen it!" Exclaimed Mina. "He let that dude have it! I thought Tsu was the most surprised out of everyone there, but, Itsuka looked like she saw another person!"
"Well, I have never seen him shout at someone before." Said Itsuka looking down at a picture of her and Izuku at the dojo on her phone. "I figured he was this shy kid who didn't want friends, but, he confronted me one day and asked if we could hang out."
"Just hang out?" Teased Setsuna.
"Yes, Set just hang out." She said with a minor blush. "After that, we became good friends and he helped me tear a wall that I had surrounded myself with after what my father did to my mom and family."
"Oh Itsu, I'm sorry to hear that about your family." Said Mina holding her hand.
"Well, if we're getting the depressing stuff out of the way," Said Pony as she turned to Tsu. "How did... you know what go?"
"It went well, they didn't find anything other than scratch marks on my arm and my body doesn't show anything after checking to see if the woman's shoe had any harmful germs on it, kero." Said Tsu.
"Oh that's great, I'm glad you are alright, physically at least." Said Pony with a smile. "Too bad the guys couldn't see you Set, they were just as worried."
"Wish they did, I could have teased them with my gown here." Said Setsuna lifting the gown a little.
"Miss. Tokage, you do realize the door is wide open, correct?" Said a female doctor... rolling in on a mechanical wheelchair. She wore your basic doctor attire with a pink shirt, her blonde hair was in a ponytail, and she wore glasses to help her blue eyes see better.
"I, wasn't a, actually going to pull it up all the way!" She exclaimed to her doctor with a blush as the girls giggled.
"Thank you for taking care of our friend, ma'am." Said Momo.
"Oh please don't call me ma'am." Said the doctor with a chuckle. "I may be thirty-two, but, I'm still young and please call me Doctor Grant or Samantha, whichever floats your boat."
"Thank you for taking care of Setsuna, Miss. Grant, I know she can be a handful." Said Itsuka jokingly getting a 'hey' from Setsuna.
"Oh, she has been a sweetheart since she got here." Said Grant.
"Hold up, she's been good?" Asked Pony looking at her friends. "Girls, I think we walked into the wrong room."
"Oh come on I can behave." Said Setsuna pouting at her friend's jokes. Miss. Grant chuckled as she looked at her watch.
"Waiting for your hubby, Sam?" Jokingly asked Mina.
"All the time." She said as the girls realized what she meant.
"I'm so sorry, how long has he been gone if you don't mind me asking?" Asked Mina as she tried to make up for the joke.
"Oh don't worry about it I know you were just making a joke and as for how long it's been thirteen years." Said Grant as she grabbed the chair. "If he could see how our daughter has grown I know he would be proud." She sighed as she looked at Setsuna's chart. "I just wish she had more friends."
"Is she shy?" Asked Tsu.
"Oh no if you get her talking she will open right up." Answered Grant. "She's just been so busy with homeschooling, her job, and helping me that she doesn't prioritize herself."
"Sounds like she needs to relax a bit." Said Pony resting her head on the palm of her hand. "But, It's sweet that she takes care of you."
"It is, but, she doesn't need to." She said as she pushed a button on her chair. The chair then released a mechanical arm that grabbed Setsuna's chart from their hand and placed it on the table. "It can even turn the wheels into legs so it can climb stairs."
"Wow if Mei saw this she'd ask for the designer who made this, her words, not mine, "Baby." Said Momo.
"Ironically, this was also made by my husband before he died." Said Grant. "He made this in case anything happened to me or Angela." She then straightened herself. "But, enough about that, Setsuna, once your teacher, Miss. Midnight, get's here you can leave."
"Awesome, hey can I keep the gown by any chance?" Asked Setsuna with a smile as the girls sighed and Grant giggled.
Meanwhile in the cafeteria of the hospital...
Jiro, Toru, and Toga were having lunch. Toru was eating a grilled cheese, Jiro was eating a salad, and Toga was eating a ham sandwich.
"Hospital food sucks." Said Toga finishing her sandwich.
"I mean, a hospital is mainly for taking care of the injured, not supplying unique food to eat." Said Jiro.
"Honestly, food is food for me." Said Toru. "I just have to watch my figure." Toga and Jiro stared at her with an eyebrow raised. "Y, you know what I mean!"
They remain in silence for a few minutes as Toga is scrolling through her texts. "So everyone knows what happened at the hospital and sends their hope she gets better, there's a few here about the mall and how Uraraka would have sent that guy to the moon for what he did to Tsu, and Nejire apologizes for not coming with us to the hospital and going back to the hotel so Midnight could come to pick us up... that last one doesn't make sense to me." She said with an eyebrow raised at the last one
"She's saying that she wished she could stay here with us and help Tsu and Setsuna." Said Jiro.
"But she was only doing as Midnight instructed." Said Toru finishing her grilled cheese. "We know she would be here if she could." Toru then notices Toga staring at her. "Are you okay Toga? Are you low on blood?"
"No, no, I just was wondering," Said Toga as she touched two of her fingers in a repetitive motion. "How do we not see you chewing and swallowing your food?"
Before Toru could answer a feminine voice popped up... "I imagine it has something to do with her quirk's biostructure." Said a girl around their age. The girl's hair was white and went down to her shoulders, her yellow eyes were examining Toru as she tapped her hand on a light blue sweatshirt, she was wearing black jeans and a pair of green sneakers. The girls just stared at her as the girl realized she was speaking out loud. "Ah, s, sorry, my mom's a doctor and she has so many medical books lying around that I learned a thing or two." She then sat down at the table with the girls. "My name is Angela Grant, I just gave my mother her lunch and decided to get something on the way out as I heard your conversation."
"No problem, my name is Toru, the girl with earjacks is Jiro and the girl sitting across from you is Toga." Said Toru with a wave.
"Hey." Said Jiro as she continued with her salad.
"It's nice to meet you." Said Toga with a smile. Angela's eyes lit up as she saw Toga's teeth which got a reaction out of Jiro giving her a cautious glare that Angela hadn't noticed yet.
"Are you part cat by chance?" She asked Toga examing her teeth.
"Nah, my teeth just came in this way because of my quirk." Replied Toga.
"So it's a hemoglobin-related quirk?" Asked Angela getting a confused look from Toga. "Oh, sorry, I mean blood quirk."
"Oh yeah, if I drink someone's blood I can transform into them for a couple of hours!" Exclaimed Toga. "Sensei says I could learn to use their quirk, maybe."
"It sounds plausible and if you can I imagine that it would start as a single use, but, train it up you could use it for a couple of hours." Explained Angela as Jiro chuckled getting a raised eyebrow from Angela.
"Sorry, you just sound like our friend Midorya right now." Explained Jiro.
"Is he a medic enthusiast as well?" She asked Jiro now fully intrigued.
"Nothing like that, he likes to analyze quirks, he's pretty good at it." Said Jiro.
"Sounds like an interesting guy." Said Angela.
"Oh, we should introduce you to him!" Exclaimed Toru.
"Then we'll have two Midorya's." Said Toga with a smile. "I don't think us or Eric is ready for something like that." The girls chuckle except Angela looked like she was in shock. "Hey Angela, are you alright?"
"Oh, I'm fine!" She exclaimed as she blushed a little. "It's just this Eric, his last name wouldn't have to be Barlett would it?"
"Yeah, it is." Said Toru. "Do you know him?"
"We are, er, was friends." Said Angela.
"Did you two have a falling out?" She asked Angela.
"That's the thing, he just stopped talking to me one day." Answered Angela. "We use to be so close that my mother would call us siblings." Angela wiped away a tear as she felt her eye sting. "I didn't even know he left his foster home until I heard from the police that they died in a car accident."
"Oh, that's terrible!" Said Toga. "I know what it's like to live on the streets and it's hard." She then noticed Angela have a look of worry. "B, but he has a job as a mechanic so I'm sure he's living somewhere safe and if not there, he could be living in homeless shelters."
"I have tried the homeless shelters." She said as she sighed. "They haven't seen him at all. It makes me wonder if he is hiding from someone... or me."
"No way!" Exclaimed Toru and Toga.
"Eric is such a nice caring guy!" Shouted Toru.
"Yeah, any guy who's willing to help strangers on a whim has got to care about you!" Shouted Toga. "He's probably going through something personal right now and he just needs time to himself."
"For two years, though?" She whispered to herself.
Jiro almost choked on the last bite of her salad after hearing that. 'Two years!' Shouted Jiro in her head. 'He's not going through something, he's dealing with something.' She then remembers what Eric said back at the mall.
Flashback
Eric: "And as for how he knows me, I have a friend who gives me details about The Wild Ones to give to Wick here."
Momo: "So you're an informant?"
Eric: "Pretty much."
Flashback ends
'Is he staying away because of his involvement with The Wild Ones?' She asked herself.
Toru then slams her hands onto the table. "That's it we need a girl's night!" She exclaimed.
"We?" Asked Angela.
"Yeah, both of us have gone through some issues right now, so I figured you and a couple of our gal pals could hang out together." Said Toru with excitement.
"...I don't know." Said Angela as she rubbed her arm. "I have a job I need to keep and there's my studying for high school, which will be an adjustment because I was homeschooled nottomentiontheamountmoneyIhavetospendjustforhighscho... Angela breathe!" Shouted Jiro as she grabbed her by the shoulders. "Sorry, I'm just so busy." Said Angela looking down at the ground.
"...What if we could provide you with clothes?" Asked Jiro.
"Huh?" Replied Angela with a confused look for a second. "Oh no, I couldn't do that, I just met you!"
"Don't worry about it!" Exclaimed Toga. "We have a friend whose quirk can literally create anything!"
"Yeah! I'm sure Momo wouldn't mind and if she can't no doubt we have something you can wear!" Said Toru. "And don't get started on size! We have someone who can decrease and increase the size of anything so your set!"
"...Well, if that's the case and your sure, then... ok let's have a girl's night!" Exclaimed Angela with a smile.
"Awesome, will meet up at your place if that's alright?" Asked Toru.
"That should be alright, I just have to let my mother know I have company coming over." She explained to Toru as she got up from the table.
"Great, see you then!" Shouted Toga as Angela waved goodbye.
Toru then grabbed her phone and texted the girls about girl's night.
Currently on the subway...
Midorya, Shoji, Ida, Tokoyami, Kirishima, Tetsutetsu, and Jurota were on their way back to the hotel. Tokoyami was playing something on his phone, Ida was reading the news article that talked about The Wild Ones attack back at the hotel, Jurota, Kirishima, and Tetsutetsu were listening to music, while Izuku and Shoji were standing in the subway with there being no more seats.
"Midorya, I would like to thank you for intervening when you did." Said Shoji surprising Izuku.
"What do you mean?" Asked Izuku.
"What I mean is if you hadn't started arguing with that man I was going to punch him and most likely not stop." Answered Shoji. Izuku was shocked hearing this, Shoji, kill someone!? Sure he hasn't got to know him better yet, but, kill?
"Shoji, I know what he said was wrong, but, to hurt him like that!?" Whispered Izuku so no one would hear them.
"I get that Izuku, I do, but, what he said just triggered something in me from way back then." He said to Izuku in a stern voice. "Truth is I have had plenty of bad memories back when I was a child and I forgot the one good memory that made me want to be a hero. If I had acted on that not only I would have lost my chance to be a hero, but, I would be proving those people right."
"Then it's good, I didn't stop myself from speaking up." Said Izuku. "To be honest, what he said brought up some bad memories of mine as well."
"Do you mean you tried to kill yourself!?" Whispered Shoji.
"I did try." He said to Shoji who was in shock. "When I went to the doctor when I was four, he said I was quirkless. That one word shattered what I thought would be the end of my dream and it almost did. I was bullied by the students at my school and the teachers did everything in their power to make me look like a bad student and had poor grades. The worst of it was when an upperclassman told me to kill myself and when I had a chance to ask if I could be a hero if I was quirkless to an actual hero they said no... I was on a rooftop when I asked them Shoji and I had my last chance blown up in my face. I stared down at the bottom of an alleyway and was ready to fall when an explosion caught my attention. I won't go into detail about that because you probably have already heard of the sludge villain incident, but, after that, the same hero found me later and apologized to me for saying I couldn't be a hero because just like the heroes at that incident they to told me that were hesitant. But my one action reminded them of how they ran into danger to save someone without caring for their well-being as well. They then told me to jump at the chance that someone asks to help me and I did. After I took that chance I found out I had a quirk, it couldn't manifest itself due to how weak my body was at the time and I have never been happier for taking that chance."
"Midorya." Said Shoji as he was in shock and awe.
"Yeah, I know this is a lot to unload." Replied Izuku with a smile. "I have only told Itsuka about this... minus the suicide attempt."
"Then you should tell her that if Itsuka is your friend." He said as he put a hand on his shoulder.
"I planned to, but, after what happened with that man I think she knows." Said Izuku as he gripped the pole he was holding tighter. "And I wonder if I have broken the only friendship I have had ever since my diagnosis." Before Shoji could say anything the train came to a stop saying they arrived at their destination. "Please don't tell anyone else what I told you. I want to tell them when I'm ready."
"Of course Midorya, you have my word." Said Shoji as Ida, Kirishima, Tetsutetsu, Tokoyami, and Jurota got off the train along with anyone else getting off.
As everyone got off and got to the turnstiles, the boys dug out their metro cards all except Shoji who searched his pockets.
"What the matter Shoji?" Asked Kirishima.
"I think I lost my metro card." Replied Shoji as a man passed him. The man then put their card where Shoji was and paid for his entry fee. "Thank you, sir."
"No problem." Said the man as gave a backhanded wave. As the man was about to walk away Kirishima grabbed the man by the shoulder.
"Kirishima, why are you bothering this man?" Asked Ida.
"I recognize that voice!" Exclaimed Kirishima as he readied his quirk.
The man stood there for a second and then turned and... threw up a man that knocked over Kirishima.
"Where am I? I was being held hostage by gunpoint and gave my quirk info and opinion on animal quirk users and the next thing I saw was darkness!" Shouted the vomited man.
Kirishima looked for the man but saw he was already gone. "Dammit!" He shouted as slammed his fist against the ground.
"Kirishima, what was that about?" Asked a very confused Jurota.
"That was Ryan!" He shouted at the group.
"The same man responsible for Setsuna going to the hospital!?" Exclaimed Tokoyami.
"That motherfucker, he was right there and we could have caught him!" Shouted Tetsutetsu.
As Kirishima got off the ground and helped the disoriented man up, he couldn't but notice something. "Hey guys, where's Midorya?" He asked.
On the streets...
Izuku was chasing Ryan as he was knocking everything backward to trip up Midorya, but, to no avail.
"What the hell is up with you!" Shouted Ryan trying to find his gun when he remembered where it was at. "Damn, that bitch took it!"
'I'm not going to let this guy get away!' Shouted Izuku in his head. 'He not only harmed a friend and tried to con us, but, he willing knew he was placing us in danger when he allowed us to stay at the hotel!'
'Damn this kid is fast!' Thought Ryan as he looked for an escape. He then saw an alleyway coming up. "That will do." He said as he turned into the alley.
"No, you doN... 'BANG!' Was all Izuku could say as a gunshot was fired at him. Izuku saw it all Ryan's twisted smile, the flash of the gun, and the bullet coming at him. His life flashed before his eyes. He saw his mother, saw Itsuka and Ochako, and saw All Might giving him One For All with Nana and Zack by his side. This was the moment where Izuku Midorya died...

...
...
...
...but he didn't. As the bullets flew, Izuku's first reflex was to wave his arm to block the attack even though he knew it wouldn't do much, but as he did the green sparks of his quirk activated and flew off Izuku and deflected the bullet.
"THE FUCK!?" Shouted Ryan in shock. He then pulled the trigger again and fired multiple shots. Izuku then waved his hand again as soon as Ryan fired the gun and the sparks deflected them again. "WHAT IS THIS JEDI FORCE BULLSHIT!?" Shouted Ryan as he threw the gun at Izuku and ran down the corner followed by Izuku as he dodged the gun. As Izuku made the corner he heard a scream and saw Ryan holding a knife to a woman's neck. "Okay 'hero' here's what's going to happen. If you don't fuck off I'm killing this woman whether it be by knife or my teeth!"
'Damn, I can't hit him while he's holding her hostage!' Thought Izuku as took a look at his surroundings for an advantage. 'I don't se... "The light post!" Thought Izuku as a voice went off in his head. Izuku looked at the light post and saw the green sparks float to it. 'Wait, can I!?' Thought Izuku as he was extending a hand open and the sparks grew smaller and flew toward the light post.
"Well, I'm waiting 'hero,' what's your decision!" Shouted Ryan as he pressed the knife closer to the woman's neck. "Are you going to play hero and have an innocent life taken because you thought you could arrest me on your own or are you going to play the smart card here and let me go?" Izuku took a look at the light post real quick and noticed that sparks had filled halfway.
'Okay, I think that will do now I just need to hope this works.' Thought Izuku
"Well, what's your answer kid!" He shouted at Izuku with a crooked smirk on his face.
"...You have hurt my friends, you were willing to let us stay in a dangerous place and tried to even hustle us for more money knowing about its dangers, and you took two innocent lives away along with god knows how many more people." Said Izuku as he stared at Ryan's confused and pissed-off face. "I'm not about to let you take another!" He shouted as he waved his hand back. As Ryan moved to slice the woman's neck open, the light post began to buzz getting Ryan's attention, and when he looked the light post's lamp busted releasing a bright green light and blinding Ryan causing him to drop the knife. Izuku then ran toward Ryan as the light blinded him even though he was a little disoriented by the light. He focused on the woman first pushing her back as Izuku saw Ryan reveal his teeth and stare into Izuku's eyes with hate and malice. Ryan then opened his mouth showing half of his anglerfish quirk's teeth but as he went to charge he felt a fist hit his chest. 'One For All, Full Cowling 25%' "CALIFORNIA SMASH!" Shouted Izuku as his fist slammed into Ryan's chest sending him flying to the ground with his back slamming into the ground, Ryan then bounced off the ground into a mailbox on the side with his head colliding off it and then his right side slamming into a bench with him rolling off it and lying on the ground.
Izuku panted and stared at Ryan's body just lying there but before he went to check Ryan's pulse he turned to the woman and asked if she was okay. She gave him a nod as her eyes were in shock at what just happened. He then walked over to Ryan and turned his body over to see his eyes staring at him unresponsive and had a full view of his quirk's teeth. Now for the moment of truth, Izuku took two fingers to Ryan's neck... and he felt a pulse. He was still alive, unconscious, but alive. As he stood up he heard clapping and cheering and saw a huge crowd watching him.
"Damn kid, you gave that Wild One bastard what was coming to him!" Shouted a man.
"Mommy, mommy, who is that hero?" Asked a little girl.
"I don't know sweety." Replied her mother.
"Hey kid, what's your name!" Shouted a man with a camera who most likely was either a tourist or a journalist. Before Izuku could say anything, he felt a sudden wave of fatigue hit him followed by a familiar voice calling out to him.
"Izuku!" Shouted Ochako as she ran to him after getting out of a car nearby. IZuku smiled at her and then fainted into unconsciousness.
