Day 5
***LEA'S GUMMI PHONE VOICE NOTE***
Hey, uh, it's Lea. Day 5. Man, these past few days have been... unbearable. I'm sitting up here on top of the clock tower, just staring out into the empty sky. I haven't really moved from here, to be honest. Just missing my friends and trying to make sense of why they disappeared.
I've tried making calls to Riku, Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Ventus, Terra, Aqua... but no one's answering. Not even my old Organization buddies. Am I really all alone? Am I the last Keyblade wielder and Guardian of Light left? It's a heavy thought to bear.
I can't help but wonder where Sora is in all of this. I never saw him come back when Kairi went missing. Could they be lost too? I don't feel hopeful about seeing them again, and that scares me. We've been through so much together.
I'm just sitting here, looking over the Twilight Town skyline as the sun sets, praying that this nightmare can end soon. There has to be a way to fix things, right? I can't believe it's all over.
I've decided to go back to Yen Sid's Tower and investigate further. Maybe there's something there that can help me communicate with any surviving friends out there, in case the network is failing to send calls. I need to find a way to reach them, to let them know they're not alone.
I'll report back in a few days, journal. Hopefully, I'll have some answers or at least a glimmer of hope by then. Until then, I'll keep searching and holding on.
***TONY'S RECORDING TO PEPPER***
[Sound of static, followed by Tony's voice]
Hey, Pep. It's me again. Feeling a lot better today. The side effects of that Elixir have finally passed, thank God. Although, I did throw up a few more times, like it was St. Patrick's Day in space. Green puke, not the most pleasant sight, I tell you.
But good news on the engine and power cells. They seem to be holding steady today. We're still moving at a snail's pace, but we'll probably up the speed tomorrow. For now, we're just letting the ship run its course. Gotta be patient.
Let me give you an update on Aqua, Riku, and Nebula. Aqua, she's one tough cookie. Been through hell and back, stuck in the realm of Darkness for over a decade. No rescue plan from her allies, which is pretty messed up. But she's holding up, doing her best to keep spirits high.
Riku, well, he's got his own demons to deal with. Dark influences, possession, you name it. But he's come a long way, fought hard to overcome that darkness. I admire him for it. He's a true warrior.
Now Nebula, she's got some serious father issues. Raised by Thanos, the guy who tore her apart piece by piece because she was "weak." It's heartbreaking, really. But she became one of the most feared assassins in the galaxy. Talk about turning your pain into strength.
Compared to these guys, my story of being kidnapped and building my first suit in a cave feels like child's play. But I guess the common thread between all of us is survival. We've all been through our own versions of hell and managed to come out the other side.
I'm gonna sign off now and check on the power cells. Can't let those fail on us. Then I'll join the others for a little sip of that space whiskey again. It keeps the spirits up in times like these.
I love you, Pepper. I hope you're safe. I hope everyone we care about is safe. We'll get through this. We always find a way.
[Sound of static, followed by silence]
***KAIRI'S JOURNAL ENTRY***
Day Five, Earth's Aftermath:
Today was another eventful day for us here on Earth. Goofy, Rocket, and I took a quinjet to Washington DC to assist in the search and rescue efforts. We partnered with the FBI and CIA agents who remained after the snap. It was heartening to see the resilience of these individuals, still working tirelessly to help those in need.
One of the FBI agents we worked with was Jimmy Woo. He greeted us with a touch of magic, pulling his business card out of Goofy's ear. It was a small gesture, but it brought a smile to our faces. Agent Woo asked if we had any information about Scott Lang, as he was Scott's parole officer after he joined Captain America's team in Leipzig and violated the Sokovia Accords. Unfortunately, we hadn't heard from Scott since the snap, which saddened Agent Woo. He had a fondness for Scott and even learned the card trick from him.
Agent Woo also inquired about Hank Pym, Hope Van Dyne, and Janet Van Dyne, but we had no luck in our searches. It seemed that Jimmy had been keeping tabs on them in California, and now he finds himself in Washington dealing with the aftermath of the snap. It's a heavy burden for anyone to bear.
As Goofy inquired about the Sokovia Accords, Agent Jimmy Woo took a moment to explain their purpose and significance. He detailed how the Accords were a set of international regulations introduced after the events of Sokovia, where the Avengers' battle with Ultron resulted in significant collateral damage. The Accords aimed to hold superheroes accountable and establish a system of oversight and control.
According to Agent Woo, the Accords required superheroes to register with the government and operate under its authority. It meant that they would no longer have the autonomy to act on their own or make independent decisions regarding their activities. The goal was to prevent further incidents like Sokovia from happening and ensure that superheroes were held responsible for their actions.
However, it was also important to note that Captain America, Steve Rogers, had staunchly opposed the Accords. He believed that signing them would compromise the Avengers' ability to protect people effectively. Captain America saw the Accords as a potential infringement on individual liberties and feared that the government's involvement might be influenced by political agendas.
Rocket, who had been listening intently, couldn't help but chime in with his opinion. He expressed his disdain for the Accords, calling them "a load of crap." Rocket felt that the government shouldn't have the power to dictate how superheroes should operate. To him, it seemed like a bureaucratic mess that would hinder their ability to do what was necessary.
While Agent Woo and Rocket had differing perspectives on the Accords, it highlighted the complex nature of their implementation. The Sokovia Accords raised important questions about the balance between regulation and individual freedom, forcing heroes like Captain America and the Avengers to make difficult choices.
After a long day of search and rescue, we returned to Avengers HQ, where Steve welcomed us back. He led the debriefing of the day's events. Valkyrie and Rhodey were assigned to night shift duties alongside Nat, ensuring that there's a constant presence working around the clock here at the headquarters.
Rocket, ever the tinkerer, tried to send a signal through the Gummi Phone to the outer reaches of space, hoping for a response. Unfortunately, we received no reply. But Rocket remains determined and plans to try again tomorrow after some tinkering.
As I prepare for much-needed rest, a quote from Rocket resonates in my mind.
He said, "At least we got each other. Some people have no one." It's a reminder that despite the chaos and uncertainty, we have each other, and that is something to hold onto.
Tomorrow is a new day, and we'll continue to do everything we can to bring hope and restore what has been lost.
Kairi
***CAROL DANVERS - CAPTAIN'S LOG***
Terran Date: 2nd May 2018
Today has been a challenging yet fulfilling day as I continue to navigate the aftermath of the snap and offer assistance wherever needed. Radiant Garden has descended into a state of depression, and even the strongest spirits like Yuffie are beginning to lose hope. I decided to take a leave of absence from Radiant Garden to check on other worlds across the cosmos, making sure they are coping with the situation.
My first stop was the Olympic Colosseum, where I caught up with Phil. It was good to see him again, although the task of cleaning up the dust left behind by the vanished spectators was arduous. To my surprise, Hercules was there lending a helping hand, ensuring that the city and its inhabitants were taken care of. It was heartening to witness the resilience and determination of these individuals, even in the face of such devastation.
I continued my journey, visiting other worlds to assess the damage and offer assistance where necessary. One world required some straightforward aid, and I was glad to be able to provide it. Finally, I arrived in Traverse Town, which had become a refuge for displaced beings from various worlds. It was there that I encountered a small cricket named Jiminy, who had been stranded on this planet for some time. He had been unable to communicate with his friends through his telephone device, and we struck up a conversation.
To my surprise, Jiminy was familiar with Radiant Garden, the world I had just left. He expressed his desire to return there, hoping to reunite with his friends. I was willing to help, but I questioned whether he would be able to survive the vacuum of space. It was a setback to our plans, but Jiminy mentioned the presence of Gummi Ships at the entrance of Traverse Town. Perhaps I could use one of those to transport him safely to Radiant Garden.
With an agreement in place, I secured a Gummi Ship, fully intending to return it once our mission was complete. My current objective is to ensure the safe journey of Jiminy and myself back to Radiant Garden, where we hope to find some answers amidst the chaos.
I remain determined and committed to making sense of these extraordinary events. The journey may be fraught with uncertainties, but with every step, I strive to bring hope and aid to those in need.
Captain Carol Danvers, signing off.
***AQUA'S DIARY ENTRY***
Dear Diary,
Today, as I reflect upon our journey and the challenges we face aboard the Benatar, a beautiful memory resurfaces in my mind.
Twas the night before Terra and I underwent our Mark of Mastery exam, and Ventus joined us for a special moment. We watched a meteor shower together, gazing up at the stars in awe and wonder. The serenity of that night, the bond we shared, and the promise of our Wayfinder Charms all hold a special place in my heart.
On this particular day, the Benatar has been running smoothly without any major issues. Tony, always one to inject humor into even the direst situations, made a lighthearted comment about the ship's speed. He suggested that he would try to enhance its velocity tomorrow, without compromising the engine's integrity. It is a testament to his brilliance and ingenuity that we can trust him with such matters.
During our time together on the ship, Tony, Nebula, Riku, and I have had the opportunity to share our adventures and experiences. Each one of them carries a weighty past, filled with trials and hardships that have shaped their character.
Tony's tale of becoming Iron Man and the sacrifices he has made resonates deeply with me. He has faced countless challenges and overcome them with resilience and determination. I hold immense respect and admiration for him as a hero and am grateful to call him my friend.
Nebula's upbringing is nothing short of tragic. The abuse she endured at the hands of Thanos is an injustice that should never have befallen anyone. Yet, she has risen above her past, transforming into a formidable warrior and a beacon of strength. Her resilience and determination to overcome her painful past inspire me. I feel a profound sense of empathy for her and a deep desire to offer whatever support I can.
Riku, too, has his own story of trials and growth. He shared with Nebula and me how he found himself alongside Tony on Titan, fighting to save Doctor Strange and the Time Stone. I am well-acquainted with Riku's journey, having witnessed his transformation firsthand. His struggle with darkness and his unwavering resolve to seek redemption are testaments to his inner strength and courage. I am proud to have him by my side as we navigate this uncertain path.
Tonight, I have decided to join Tony in trying the renowned space whiskey he has been raving about. Though I haven't eaten much today due to rationing, I believe a small indulgence will do no harm. However, I am aware that it may leave my head feeling a bit fuzzy tomorrow. Nevertheless, it is important to find moments of respite and enjoyment amidst the chaos we face.
As I conclude this entry, I want to reaffirm my commitment to our mission and to the well-being of my friends. Tony, Nebula, and Riku have become more than just allies; they are individuals who have faced their own demons and emerged stronger for it. I am honored to stand alongside them, united in our shared purpose.
In this time of uncertainty, it is crucial that we hold onto our compassion, empathy, and unwavering belief in the power of light. Together, we can face any challenge and overcome any obstacle. With the memories of our cherished moments and the strength we draw from one another, I am confident that we will find our way back home.
May the stars guide our path, and may our hearts remain steadfast in the face of darkness.
Aqua
***A ROYAL STATEMENT***
My loyal subjects,
In these trying times, I address you with a heavy heart, as we find ourselves in the midst of chaos and uncertainty. The last five days have been marked by panic and disorder, and I am acutely aware of the pain and suffering that has befallen our world. My deepest condolences go out to those who have lost loved ones, and my thoughts are with all of you who have been affected by this unimaginable tragedy.
It is with great concern that I inform you that I have not received any communication from The King, my beloved husband, The King's Captain, or The Royal Sage since that fateful day. The absence of their presence weighs heavily on my heart, and I share in your worry and apprehension for their well-being. They have always been pillars of strength and wisdom in our kingdom, and their absence is deeply felt by us all.
In the wake of this devastating event, our kingdom has also suffered a profound loss. I am deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost a significant number of our cherished Royal staff, who were the heartbeat of Disney Castle. Among those who have tragically been taken from us are Chip, Dale, and Duchess Daisy, individuals who dedicated their lives to serving the crown and our beloved kingdom. Their absence is deeply felt, and their contributions will forever be remembered with gratitude and fondness.
Amidst this immense grief, I find solace in the strength and resilience of our community. I am immensely proud to share that even in the face of such tragedy, there have been shining beacons of hope and support. Max Goof, the beloved son of The King's Captain Goofy, has stepped forward with unwavering dedication to lend his assistance to the crown. Additionally, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, the valiant nephews of The Royal Sage Donald, have displayed remarkable maturity and courage as they step up to shoulder new responsibilities in these challenging times.
Their willingness to step into these roles and offer their aid is a testament to the indomitable spirit of our kingdom. I commend them for their bravery and selflessness, and I am grateful to have such capable and devoted individuals by our side during these trying times. Together, we shall forge ahead, honoring the memory of those we have lost and drawing strength from the unity and resilience of our community.
However, in these trying times, it is imperative that we remain united and resilient. We must hold onto hope and support one another as we navigate the challenges that lie ahead. Let us remember the strength and courage that have defined our kingdom throughout history. We have faced adversity before and emerged stronger for it. Together, we will endure and persevere.
I urge you, my dear subjects, to stay strong and vigilant. Look after one another and lend a helping hand to those in need. Let compassion guide our actions as we rebuild our shattered world. Reach out to your neighbors, offer words of solace, and extend a hand of friendship. In times of crisis, it is the unity and kindness of our community that will see us through.
I assure you that the staff and advisors of Disney Castle are working tirelessly to restore order and provide assistance to those affected by this catastrophe. We have set up relief centers throughout the kingdom, offering shelter, food, and medical aid to those in need. Please seek help if you require it, and know that we are here for you.
To the brave and dedicated members of our royal guard, I extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment to our kingdom's safety. Your tireless efforts in maintaining order and protecting our citizens are commendable. I implore you to remain vigilant and to continue upholding the values of justice, honor, and compassion.
Finally, I humbly ask for your prayers and well-wishes for the safe return of The King, The King's Captain Goofy, and The Royal Sage Donald. May the light guide their way back to us, and may we be reunited with our beloved leaders once more.
In this dark hour, let us remember the strength that lies within us, the resilience that has defined our kingdom, and the love that binds us together. Together, we shall overcome and rebuild, for Disney Castle and all those who call it home.
God bless you all.
Queen Minnie
***SPACE WHISKEY - RIKU'S ACCOUNT***
As we gathered in the cozy interior of the Benatar, passing around the bottle of space whiskey, the atmosphere was filled with a mix of anticipation and camaraderie. Tony, Aqua, Nebula, and I, all weary from our five days on this floating metal tin can, were ready for some much-needed levity. The whiskey flowed freely, and as its warmth spread through our veins, inhibitions started to slip away.
Tony, his wit ever sharp, raised his glass and let out a hearty laugh. "Alright, embarrassing moments, huh? Well, let me tell you about the time I was suiting up as Iron Man and accidentally put my helmet on backward. I spent a good five minutes trying to figure out why my faceplate was blocking my view. Talk about a superhero fashion faux pas!"
We couldn't help but burst into laughter, envisioning Tony's perplexed expression hidden behind his malfunctioning helmet. Aqua, usually composed and graceful, leaned in and shared her own tale. "Well, I have to admit, even Keyblade masters have their clumsy moments. I once stumbled during a battle and accidentally cast a healing spell on an enemy. They must have been so confused, wondering why I was helping them instead of attacking!"
Nebula, known for her stoicism, couldn't contain her amusement. "Embarrassing moments, you say? How about the time I mistook a tiny harmless creature for a fearsome alien assassin and started an intense fight? Turns out it was just a cuddly space hamster. My reputation took a bit of a hit that day."
The laughter echoed through the ship's walls, filling the air with an infectious energy. Encouraged by the mirthful atmosphere, I mustered the courage to share my own comical mishap.
"Okay, so picture this: I'm trying to showcase my impressive Keyblade skills to impress Kairi, but instead, I ended up tripping over my own feet and face-planting right in front of her. Smooth moves, Riku, smooth moves."
Roars of laughter erupted, each of us imagining the sheer absurdity of my failed attempt at being suave. In that moment, the stress and worries of our situation seemed to melt away, replaced by the joy of shared laughter and the knowledge that we were all in this together.
As the night progressed, the whiskey continued to flow, and our inhibitions were further loosened. We were now delving into even more outrageous and hilarious tales from our past adventures.
Tony, with his charismatic flair, shared another embarrassing moment. "Alright, so there was this one time during a battle when I was trying to show off my new suit's flying capabilities. I hit the wrong button, and instead of soaring gracefully through the sky, I ended up crashing into a tree like a drunken pigeon. It took me a good hour to untangle myself from the branches, all while the bad guys laughed their heads off!"
Aqua couldn't contain her laughter as she recalled a particularly amusing incident. "Oh, I remember the time I was exploring an underwater world and got caught in a massive school of fish. They thought I was their long-lost queen and started following me everywhere. I had to swim back to the surface with a legion of fish in tow. Let's just say it was quite the surreal parade."
Nebula, inspired by the laughter, chimed in with her own misadventure. "Here's a classic: I once mistook a hologram for a real person and spent a good fifteen minutes having a deep and meaningful conversation with thin air. It wasn't until the end when the hologram flickered out that I realized my mistake. I'm pretty sure the security footage of me talking to empty space made the rounds in the galactic news."
Emboldened by their stories, I shared yet another embarrassing escapade. "Alright, brace yourselves for this one. I once tried to impress Kairi by performing a flashy acrobatic move, but I miscalculated the distance and ended up crashing into a pile of crates. It was like a scene out of a slapstick comedy, with crates toppling over me and my pride taking a serious hit."
Laughter filled the air once again as we continued to trade tales of our most amusing blunders. From mistaken identities to ill-timed jokes and everything in between, our stories painted a vivid picture of the hilarious side of our heroic journeys.
As the night wore on and the whiskey bottle grew emptier, our conversations delved into deeper territories. The lines between our worlds blurred, and we found ourselves sharing profound questions and reflections. The warmth of the alcohol loosened our tongues and deepened our bond, creating a space where vulnerability and curiosity flourished.
Tony, his brow furrowed in genuine confusion, posed a question that had been nagging at him. "Aqua, you mentioned that Sora looks like Ventus because Ventus' heart found refuge in him. But how does that work? I mean, hearts and all that... It's mind-boggling. Can you break it down for me, maybe in simpler terms?"
Taking a moment to gather my thoughts, Aqua looked into Tony's eyes, appreciating his genuine interest. "Tony, the heart is an intricate and enigmatic essence. It surpasses the boundaries of the physical world, operating on a level beyond our comprehension. When Ventus lost his heart in his battle against the darkness within him, his fragmented heart sought sanctuary within Sora's, creating a connection between them. It's like two souls merging, intertwining their destinies."
Tony scratched his head, a bemused expression on his face. "So, hearts can just... fuse like that? That's a whole new level of science for me. But hey, in our line of work, anything seems possible, right?"
Nebula, intrigued by our conversation, leaned forward and joined in with her own inquiry. "Speaking of Sora, where is this legendary Keyblade wielder now? Riku, you mentioned that he and Kairi never returned after defeating Xehanort. Any idea where they might have gone?"
I let out a sigh, the weight of uncertainty pressing on my heart. "No, Nebula. After our battle with Xehanort, Sora embarked on a journey to find Kairi, who was lost during the final confrontation. But neither of them has returned yet. It's been a long wait, and I can't help but worry about their well-being wherever they may be."
Aqua, her kind eyes filled with understanding, turned to Tony and asked, "Tony, how did you manage to locate Spider-Man back on Earth? It must have presented quite a challenge."
Tony's face lit up with a mischievous grin as he leaned back in his seat. "Ah, Aqua, that's a tale filled with YouTube videos, state-of-the-art technology, and some seriously expensive detective work. Tracking down the web-slinger required a blend of high-tech gadgetry and good old-fashioned sleuthing. But in the end, we managed to find him, swinging through the streets of New York."
Curiosity burned within me, and I turned to Nebula, eager to learn more about her past. "Nebula, what was Gamora like? I've heard tales of her strength and resilience, but I'd like to hear from someone who knew her intimately."
A bittersweet smile graced Nebula's lips as she reminisced about her sister. "Gamora was fierce, determined, and fiercely loyal. She endured unimaginable hardships, freeing herself from Thanos' grasp and forging her own path. We had our differences, but she taught me the value of family and sacrifice. I miss her."
Tony, ever the embodiment of camaraderie, raised his glass with a twinkle in his eye. "Well, my friends, let's raise a toast to this peculiar evening of drinking space juice and bonding. Tonight, we've formed a team, bridging the gaps between our worlds. Cheers to the strange and extraordinary journey we find ourselves on."
The clinking of our glasses filled the air, a harmonious chorus that reverberated through the ship. In that moment, surrounded by laughter and shared stories, we found solace in each other's presence. Despite the uncertainties of our own quests and the weight of our responsibilities, this night served as a reminder of the strength that can be found in unexpected alliances and the power of connection that transcends worlds.
