Disclaimer: I own nothing
Izuku is back at that office building where he got his ass beat. He's back to track the monster's scent. It's a weird one. It smells dead. Kind of… it doesn't smell like it's decaying, it just smells dead. That's weird but whatever, it doesn't change his job.
As he enters the sewers, this thing seems to like traveling by the sewers. He starts to think to himself about all for one's offer. He'd make a pretty good villain. He's not working with all for one. Well he is but it's temporary. Point is whether it's with all for one or not, he would make a good villain. He's already listed as a B rank. Which doesn't sound that cool but considering he's a vigilante it's pretty cool. It's harder for vigilantes to get ranked high on the villain ranking system. That said overhaul is a B rank villain and he's a yakuza boss with a hero kill count so B is somewhat impressive. If he were a villain for real he could probably be an A rank. Maybe an S rank. Not many people can slip past All Might. Although that was more out of All Might making mistakes than it was Izuku being good enough to escape him. Regardless he did escape and not even All For One can say he's done that.
So yeah. He'd be pretty good at it. He can track well. He's doing it right now. He could do viscera clean up. He'll just eat it. He eats people sometimes it's whatever. Usually not entire people but he ate some of Muscular and he's taken chunks out of a few other villains here and there. He can shapeshift into a bat so he's pretty good at scouting. He can turn invisible which would be overpowered if only he could move while doing it. He can fight with his hands, blades, guns, or just about anything he can get his hands on. He killed a man with a couch once. He'd make an amazing asset to Shigaraki and his league. But whatever he's retiring as soon as he kills this monster. Speaking of where did the scent go.
He was lost in thought and passed it. He backtracks some fifteen maybe 20 feet and looks up to see a manhole leading out. He listens for any noise. Cars, animals, heartbeats, anything. He hears a heartbeat. It's faint and somewhat far away. Well here goes. He opens the manhole and steps out.
It looks like some kind of fantasy world? Where the hell is he? Did he get isekaid or something? He hates isekais. Oh. Oh maybe that huge billboard that says hero land could tip him off. He's in a theme park. He actually knows the place he went here when he was like 9. His mom wouldn't take him because she thought it was unsafe. She was right by the way. Someone fell out of a roller coaster or something and the place has been closed for a few months. That billboard looks like a pretty good vantage point. He makes his way over. He's just gonna wait here for a while and listen to hear if the thing moves. If it doesn't move by night he's calling Kurogiri and getting Shigaraki down here to help him kill the thing. So he waits and waits. Time passes. The sun starts to set and the thing hasn't left the ride it is hiding in. Welp he'd better go get ready. Take a shower cause he smells like sewage. Grab some more ammo, get Shigaraki and all that. And that's what he does. After the shower he grabs a revolver. He always keeps his pistol on him but he thinks he might want something with a little more stopping power. This thing is big as hell. Next he goes and picks up Shigaraki. He likes Shigaraki. He's strange but he's interesting.
Shigaraki comes out of the alley and walks over to Izuku's car. He's playing some of the foo fighter's top songs.
"What's up man?" says Izuku as Shigaraki gets into the car.
"My room is fixed." replies Shigaraki.
"That's good." says Izuku.
"Where are we going?" asks Shigaraki.
"Hero land." replies Izuku.
"Lame." says Shigaraki.
"Honestly." replies Izuku, "It kinda makes sense though. It's big and abandoned. Away from people. We can make a lotta noise and nobody's gonna come."
"I don't understand the appeal of a hero themed park." says Shigaraki, "They're already everywhere."
"Honestly it's probably some type of propaganda. They do a lot to make people worship heroes. I've got a buddy who knows a lot about that type of stuff." says Izuku.
"Fuck em heroes are trash." says Shigaraki.
"I wanted to be a hero once." says Izuku casually.
"So did I but we know better now." says Shigaraki.
"Really you wanted to be a hero… actually that isn't that surprising some of the biggest hero haters I know used to want to be one. The buddy I mentioned used to want to be one as well." replies Izuku.
"You're supposed to want to be one. They want you to want to be one, knowing full well ninety percent of people can't. Even if you do get that license you won't help people the way you really want to. That's why you became a vigilante right?" asks Tomura.
"It's why I stayed. I started for lots of reasons. I was, well am, too young to get a hero license. I need to drink blood and I figured that I should take it from the villains." replies Izuku.
"You're aware that-" starts Tomura.
"Yes I am aware that you are a villain but are you a bad guy?" asks Izuku.
"Yes." replies Shigaraki.
"Well let me ask. What is it you want?" asks Izuku.
"To kill All Might." replies Shigaraki.
Man what?
"Dead ass?" asks Izuku.
"What?" asks Shigaraki in response.
"Like for real?" asks Izuku.
"Yeah." Shigaraki responds.
"Why?" asks Izuku, audibly surprised.
"He holds the current system up. He holds it up like Atlas holds up the world. Kill him and the world falls." replies Shigaraki.
"You're into Greek mythology?" asks Izuku.
"I played god of war." replies Shigaraki.
"I've heard good things." replies Izuku before sniffing, "... So is it like a greater good thing? Like getting rid of him gets rid of the system so you have no choice?"
"No. I want to do it." replies Shigaraki.
Why would anyone but all for one want to… oh. Yeah ok. Izuku's being an idiot.
"Cause of what he did to your sensei?" asks Izuku.
"I wanted to kill him before that. I wanna turn him to dust." says Shigaraki.
He's not really getting anywhere. Not that he needs to, he's not interrogating him or anything but that offer to join the league seemed tempting. Now, not so much but maybe. He wants to get to the root of the desire to kill All Might.
"Why did you want to kill him in the first place?" asks Izuku.
"I already said that he holds up the system." replies Shigaraki, sounding a little annoyed.
"Oh. Okay. I think I get it. You want a new system. You need to get rid of the old system. All Might holds up the old system. You need All Might dead. Did I miss anything?" asks Izuku.
"No but… I want All Might dead not need." replies Shigaraki.
"So you hate him because he holds up the system?" asks Izuku.
"Yes." replies Shigaraki.
"One would argue that All Might being the hero that holds up the hero society deserves to live while the rest that don't fit into would be the ones who should be killed… if any." says Izuku.
"You don't agree with me." It's an accusation.
"I never said that but I'm considering joining your league and if I'm going to join your league I need to know what you think and partially why you think it. I need to challenge your beliefs to see if you can defend them." says Izuku.
Shigaraki doesn't say anything for a moment, "It's not just All Might. People walk by other people all the time. People that need help or a hero but people won't help because a hero should do it. Heroes won't help because it's too small for them. They need to save the day, not a person."
And that's something Izuku can get behind. Hell that's almost exactly what he preaches. Anybody can make a difference if they would just get off their asses and help each other. He doesn't like the idea of killing All Might. He doesn't really mind getting rid of heroes. The concept, he minds getting rid of the people he'd like to make that clear.
"I get it. I really do. That's why I do what I do. Now I'm still not sure about killing All Might but man I relate to that goal. I've been trying and somewhat succeeding in making normal people band together to help others. Granted I got the vast majority of those people killed. But you'd be the boss, not me." says Izuku.
"Those people knew what they were getting into." says Shigaraki, that almost sounds like sympathy. Which surprises Izuku a little. It's not really Shigaraki's thing. Well Shigaraki always did treat him differently than other people. Shigaraki hates almost everyone else, he said so himself once.
"I don't think they did." replies Izuku, "They depended on me to plan the safest way to do things. To send them where they could do the most damage with the least risk. For the most part that's what I did. But I made mistakes somewhere and that got them killed. I was their boss. I was supposed to know what they could and couldn't handle. It's the syndicate's fault, they're the ones that killed them but it was my responsibility."
Shigaraki doesn't say anything to that. Maybe he doesn't know what to say. Maybe he knows but doesn't want to risk it. Izuku has always got the feeling that he was socially stunted, and he knows large parts of his ideals, mainly his hate for All Might isn't his own, it's his masters.
"You're really thinking about joining?" shigaraki asks after a while.
"I am but I don't know. I think we're a lot alike. In the way you like turning people to dust I like meat and bone turning to paste under my fists. I like fighting. I like killing as bad as that sounds and I don't think I'll stop enjoying it anytime soon. I wanna fight by your side. I wanna finish my business with what's left of the snakes, which isn't much although there's not much left of my men either. Above all else I want to keep my daughter safe. None of the three things I want most align. I want to fight for the things I think are right. All I've ever done for basically my whole life is fight. But I think I have to put my own interests first. I have to stop being who I am. I need to change for my daughter. I want to. I really do but… I don't think I'll be joining you."
"Okay." says Shigaraki.
"Okay?" asks Izuku.
"Okay." confirms Shigaraki.
Izuku pulls into the hero land parking lot. Shigaraki steps out of the car. Izuku lingers, grabbing his aforementioned revolver, a colt python he stole, and a few speed loaders that he puts in his back pocket. He doesn't have a holster for the revolver so he just tucks it into his belt right over the speed loaders in his back pocket.
"Let's get it." says Izuku as they head into the park.
Authors Note
I'm not apologizing for taking too long anymore. It is what it is.
Just a reminder that Izuku has a vampires charisma. It's what makes him a natural leader and what let him get close to Shigaraki so quickly.
next update will be the nomu fight round 2
namethename: It takes me months to get one of these chapters out so no promises but I might get around to it.
Dsman: tbh I'd rather lose to Eri than hunt a nomu as well.
