Over time, it had been easier and easier to feel confident about the future. Things followed its course usually meeting her dream. One way or another, their real story always seemed to cross the story she had initially imagined during her coma. Sometimes it almost felt funny to actually be able to predict the future. It was weird indeed but it just helped her settle into her new life more easily without having any doubts clouding her. She was finally at peace with her lengthy "déjà vu". A few things had gone differently though. Not that it was a bad thing, much to the opposite. That meant, she still got a few surprises that weren't planned. Andy's proposal was one of them. She couldn't help but have her lips curving up at the simple thought of that magical day.

That afternoon, everything was calm at the house. She had been washing and folding laundry since she wasn't yet allowed to work. So far, she had enjoyed having that time alone to take care of the house and herself. Ricky was usually out all day for work and Emily had been gone for four months now, fully invested in catching up with what she had missed in Utah. Martha had taken her there and offered a room in her nice and cozy apartment – just like she had imagined.

While it had been difficult to be left alone in their big silent house in the beginning, she was now at peace with it. After all, she could use some time to think, rest and relax because soon enough she'd be back to work and she wouldn't have time for herself anymore. She still liked to check in with Andy and ask about the cases. He would update her throughout the day, so she felt sort of included in it. Her opinion and thoughts were usually quite helpful, obviously because she was a very skilled cop but also because having an exterior point of view helped her see some details the team hadn't noticed.

The TV was on, playing the afternoon shows in the background. It was probably why she hadn't heard him come in and was surprised to find his arms wrapped around her middle from behind. She jumped at the sensation still somewhat marked by her previous traumas. He apologized for scaring her, shushing a loving "it's me" to her ear. The stress was forgotten the minute his mouth naturally met her neck making her shiver. She giggled to the feel of him tickling her with his breath, delighted to see him so early in the day. He kissed her cheek and kept her enveloped in his warm embrace. Her hands fell immediately on his arms, urging to touch him.

- Hello, my love… he whispered in the crook of her neck.

- Lieutenant! Home already? How's it even possible? she emphasized, still chuckling.

- I know, I know… just wanted to see my girl! he grinned against her neck.

- You solved the case already?! she asked suddenly surprised she hadn't been updated.

- No, no. Not yet. We were questioning a witness downtown and as we were coming back to the station, I just felt like I needed to see you, he explained quietly.

- I'm glad you did, Lieutenant… missed you, she whispered turning in his embrace and finding his lips instinctively.

Unbelievable.

Unbelievable how his arms were her home. Unbelievable how she felt safe surrounded by his protective warmth. Unbelievable how whenever she was away from him, her whole body craved for his, inevitably. God knew how she had learnt over the years to be alone and to count on herself only. But with him, his love, his devotion to her and all he brought her, how he made her feel, she didn't want to be anywhere else but with him.

With their lips still connected, her body and soul were both merging with his. She could feel herself come alive, butterflies tickling in her stomach. The atmosphere changed the second she felt his hands slide down her sides, landing on her lower body, cupping her butt cheeks. As he pulled her closer, she could feel his arousal which made her quiver with anticipation. They came up for air, their eyes meeting again. They smiled, goofily happy with each other. A simple kiss had led to heating each other up in a matter of seconds. Their mutual attraction was just unexplainable.

Before she knew it, his lips were on her neck, kissing her teasingly. She closed her eyes, diving into the sensation that kept making her wetter and wetter. She couldn't help but hum letting him know how much she enjoyed it. Her hands came naturally behind his head, massaging his scalp and pulling him closer, willing for him to get under her skin. His hands were wandering all over her body as if he didn't quite know what to focus on first. She felt suddenly his hand stop over her chest. She shivered when he cupped each breast, squeezing and jerking her nipples between his fingers. Still kissing her up and down her neck, he suddenly bit her shoulder and heard her moan in response, both out of pain and pleasure. She understood what he had in mind when his hands came back to her butt cheeks. She felt him press behind her thighs implying for her to spread her legs and jump into him, which she did without hesitation. Her arms now around his neck, she plundered her lips into his mouth, their tongues dancing with one another.

She wanted him, craved for him. He was right there holding her and yet he wasn't close enough. She wanted to feel him inside her so bad it almost hurt. She needed to feel connected to him at last. He must have felt it because he decided to move to the kitchen where he sat her on the countertop. It was just the perfect height. Her movements were now jerkier.

- Someone's in a hurry, Andy whispered teasingly smiling in their kiss.

- Always such a clever cop, Lieutenant… she teased back, pulling away his shirt. You're wearing way too many clothes, Sir! her eyes were literally devouring him.

Before she even finished her sentence, her hands were on his belt, unbuckling it to set his member free. When his pants were finally open, she slid her hand inside his underwear, grasping him firmly and stroking his length. He opened his eyes wider at her touch, gasping. It made her quiver to feel him so aroused and pleased. They were both givers, willing for their partner to be satisfied. She kept her strokes measured, knowing she was far from done with him. She knew he would soon be on the edge and she wanted him inside her when he'd reach the explosion.

She slowed down her ministrations focusing on his lips again. How she loved his kisses. His hands landed on her hips working on lowering her panties. She urged him to hurry by pulling him closer with her heels against the back of his legs. Her breathing quickened as she felt his hand caressing her inner thighs. She had the best lover and she was more than aware of it. He knew how to be fiery, giving her that desireful gaze she so loved. She felt her arousal explode in a split second as soon as she met his eyes. But he also knew how to make love to her showing her his deep feelings with every touch. Andy always wanted her to feel at ease, pleased and loved. Which she was more than ever.

His caresses were teasing her center, making her arch her pelvis against him. She wanted more. She needed more. She started panting as she felt his hand moving higher, finally reaching her already wet lips. He knew exactly what to do. He just knew her by heart. His thumb found her bundle while he teased her entrance with another finger. She sighed his name, more than pleased with his ministrations, eyes closed. She was savoring the moment, every single sensation. As she felt his fingers entering her, she gasped, suddenly and uncontrollably rocking her hips seeking pressure. Her legs were shaking with the steady rhythm of his fingers, responding to his thumb twisting her clit. She'd soon reach release and he could hear it in her throaty moans. Andy leaned into her and romantically kissed her neck. Her hands immediately dived into his pepper and salt hair, pulling him as close as she could. She felt a wave of shivers traveling her whole body. She almost felt compelled to scream, hardly able to contain the ecstasy she felt coiling through her.

- Oh my God, Mr Flynn! You are the dream, you do know exactly what to do, Sir! she kissed him deeply and lovingly, grabbing both sides of his face.

- Well, you aren't too bad yourself Mrs F… Flynn? he paused surprised with what had just gone out of his own mouth.

Suddenly his teasing eyes turned into those loving puppy eyes that always had her heart melting on the spot. He remained silent, realizing what he had just done.

- Mmh… Mrs Flynn… she looked at him with a quizzical look, faking some deep thinking.

- Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to… I mean… You know… You don't have to… he stuttered.

- Andy… she paused waiting for him to look at her, I actually think it sounds pretty right, don't you think? she gave him a warm smile. It's about time after all...

- Yeah? his eyes lit up and his smile widened.

- Sharon Flynn… I love it! she gave him a meaningful look for words were completely irrelevant.

His only response was a deep kiss showing her how his heart was beating for her. Andy took Sharon off the countertop and lifted her into his arms. His eyes were lost in hers, not quite realizing he had just proposed by accident… and she had just accepted voluntarily.

Later in the evening, Andy texted saying he would have to stay a little late at the station because of their current case. It gave her the opportunity to enjoy some mother-son time with Ricky who was so excited to tell her about what he was working on over dinner. He was definitely passionate about his new thing and Sharon couldn't be more proud and thrilled to see him so involved. He seemed so mature now, sounding so responsible and looking forward to doing something on his own. Her baby was becoming an independent person. Time had flown for their family. It seemed like yesterday she had two very young children to take care of and now they were able to do that for themselves. Yet, even if it felt like she had done it all, her life still seemed full of amazing things to come as she was stepping into a brand new chapter of her life with the man she was meant to be with.

Andy couldn't wait to see his girl again. Although he worked with her and could see her all day long, he already missed her. His wife. The thought of that only made his heart beat a little faster with excitement. How had he gotten so lucky? Married for a full year, working together, living together and yet he couldn't get enough of her. As she was now the head of Major Crimes, she was usually home earlier than he was and that was a very good thing. He liked the idea of his wife being able to enjoy some me time, and to be able to take care of herself. Moreover, she would often surprise him when he finally came home. The evenings were theirs to share and he cherished those moments more than he could say.

That night was no different. She had left the station for a few hours now. The double trouble pair had had to stay a little for that damn paperwork. Long hours of good work later, Provenza and Flynn were finally leaving the building. It was later than usual though. Sharon was probably asleep by now. That thought made him a little sad because he wouldn't be able to spend some time with her, although he wanted her to rest. She had been very tired lately and suffering from insomnia a few nights a week.

Since Brenda had accepted a job offer in Washington, Sharon had been in charge of their unit and used by Pope to solve all the department's problems. Andy knew she loved her job more than anything and she actually liked feeling useful and considered by her colleagues, but she was clearly overdoing it. Pope tried to use her to get out while the going was good but it was too late and he soon got replaced by Taylor.

And there was Rusty's situation to solve on top of it all. The kid had once reappeared at the station after having ran away from his foster family for the hundredth time. Despite his aggressivity, Sharon kept trying to help him much to Andy's wonder. Even though she had that Darth Raydor reputation, the Captain Raydor was the kindest and most heartfelt person in the world. She had somehow convinced her husband to agree on borrowing to the angry teenager their guestroom for a few nights until they could find his mother.

By the time he was finally able to sneak into bed, it was already 2 am. As he thought everyone in the house was sound asleep, he walked cautiously to their bedroom and gently placed himself behind his wife, spooning her. He had definitely missed her. His left arm came naturally over her hip to lay peacefully on her stomach. She was breathing. Only something was different. She was breathing quite fast and irregularly.

- Sharon? he murmured in the dark.

- Mmh? she sniffled discreetly hoping for him not to notice she had been crying.

Only he knew her too well. Andy raised his chest to lay on his right elbow to be able to see her face from above. She felt his arm pulling her closer against him while his face lovingly found her wet cheek. They remained silent for a few seconds, cheek to cheek.

- I'm okay, she finally broke the silence.

- Oh that makes sense! People usually cry when they're okay, he chuckled and felt her smile self-consciously against his cheek. Why are you crying honey? I'm here… he tightened his grip around her.

- It's stupid, there's nothing wrong really, just a little throwback… she answered quietly.

- Then, tell me! he raised his face again to allow her to turn around so that they would face each other.

Now looking him in the eye, she lost control and tears started rolling down her cheeks again. She nuzzled her face into his neck, her arms around him grasping his shirt on his left side. Andy let himself lay on his back bringing her with him. Both arms came around her. Something was definitely off.

- I don't know what's possibly wrong with me… those are actually happy tears although you can't tell at first, she chuckled a bit embarrassed. Tonight, I am just feeling awfully thankful for what life gave me and keeps bringing me. I can't believe we're here together, sharing a home we love, we're married, both working and all that despite the obstacles we've had to overcome, Sharon explained.

- Yeah… you know, every morning when I open my eyes and see you… I just… I can't explain how happy I am to be able to wake up next to the love of my life. It's okay to get a little overwhelmed when we think about how things are where they are now. We got really lucky… Andy sounded a little emotional himself.

- I saw Rusty crying tonight… of course it was an accident, he didn't mean for me to see him, but I did. And… it just… it broke my heart. It reminded me of all those years where I felt completely lost. There's nothing worse than feeling like you don't belong somewhere. That poor kid… she sniffled.

- I know, what he's going through is terrible but remember we're helping him and he'll eventually feel better, Andy drew circles on her back soothing her.

- Probably, but I'm so mad at his mother for doing this to him… I wish I could do more…

- To me, you're being way nicer than any other person would have been considering how he treats us. You've insisted on sheltering him and you're moving heaven and earth to find his mother. We're parents of four children that are now finally independent and who have freshly reached adulthood. I think we're doing our best here, we're not even supposed to be taking care of a teenager right now.

Sharon tensed. Old demons that she couldn't explain.

- You mean that… it's an effort for you to take care of a teenager again? she asked cautiously not knowing if she was ready to hear what he had to say.

- Well, it's the right thing to do and I'm happy we're helping him out. But you know… we're only a year into our marriage I want to enjoy our life together and catch up on all the years we've missed! It's probably not the way I had envisioned to do so, that's all… Andy explained quite factually.

As he was about to go with the next reason as to why he was not so enthusiastic about temporarily fostering the kid, he was left with no reaction from her. She was still laying on his chest, arms quiet around him, face hidden. He gently called for her. No response. His dear wife had probably drifted off to sleep. One hand diving into her hair, he kissed the top of her head and closed his eyes, the shadow of a smile still noticeable on his lips. He was truly the luckiest man alive.
