I watched from the stairs where Boyd was sitting as Isaac tried getting past Derek.
" Think he will get passed?" I asked Boyd, who was smiling.
" I don't think so." Boyd said as I smirked. I was wearing a long-sleeve black top with some worn black jeans with a silver belt and white sneakers. My skin was getting slightly dry, I haven't been to my freshwater source yet cause of being busy, but I will soon.
" Does anyone wanna try not being completely predictable?" Derek said after knocking Isaac down again, Erica tried to tackle him, but Derek threw her off of him. I used this to grab Derek's shoulders and jump on him, he tried pulling me off. I got off and used a beam to slam into him, he is on his back and my foot is on his shoulder.
" Unpredictable? You meant can my girl knock me on my ass? Then the answer is yes." I said as Derek smirked, I helped him up.
" Are we done?" Isaac asked as it pulled Derek's focus from me, that ok.
" I got about a hundred bones that need a few hours to heal." Isaac says as Derek leans down, holding his hand out to Isaac, who foolishly gives it to him. I watched as Derek breaks his arm, kind of harsh.
" Come here. A hundred and one. You think I'm teaching you how to fight? Huh? Look at me! I'm teaching you how to survive!" Derek yelled before I pulled him away from Isaac.
" Hun relax." I said flashing my eyes.
" If they wanted us dead why aren't they coming for us now? What are they waiting for?" Isaac says in a harsh tone. Derek huffed.
" I don't know. But they're planning something. And you, especially, know that's not our only problem. Whatever that thing is that killed Isaac's father, I think it killed someone else last night. Until I find out what it is, you all need to learn everything that I know." Derek says as he goes to the stairs.
" As fast as I can teach you." Derek told them before heading up.
" What's up his ass?" Erica asked as I sighed.
" Hunters, this thing and another issue. I'll talk to him." I say as the nod.
" Head home, I'll let you know what the plan is." I said before heading up to see Derek leaning against my car.
" Stress isn't a good color on you." I say as he got up and brought me into his arms.
" Why don't we go and distress the both of us, from what I can smell on you, your rut is coming." I said as I saw his eyes flickering.
" We can worry in a few hours, right now let's go." I said as he got in my car. We got to the Hale house. No one would come here.
As Derek and I got out of the car, I can feel his wolf emerging through the bond. We get inside, the cool air wrapping around us with no hesitation. We got to the spare room with the bed Derek had been sleeping on when Peter was the Alpha.
" God I love you." Derek growled as we got on the bed, heavy kissing and heavy breath emulated the room. We shed our clothes fast as Derek's eyes were flickering from human to wolf faster than I could keep up with.
" Derek." I whispered as he got on top of me, licking a long stripe on my neck. I felt him enter me quickly, I know what he was doing. The rut and his wolf want me to be rounded with his pups.

Soon I was in my bed and I completely dozed off.

I was woken up by a text from Derek. I look at it as I see my skin slightly flakier.

I got out of bed and dressed in a black lace bra and panty set, red long sleeve shirt, and some black jeans. I snag my boots. I wanted to itch my skin. I wanted the water but my academics couldn't falter. Last time I checked my grades I had all A's. Yay! I got on my bike and went to school. I know everything and everything went smoothly. As school need I got on my bike and felt a little flushed.
" You ok?" I hear Boyd's voice as I turned around to see Erica and Boyd.
" Yeah, being what I am, I need fresh water to transform." I say as they looked confused.
" Being a mermaid, I can dry out if I don't get to my water source." I told them, they nodded in understanding.
" So we need to question Stiles about what he saw at the mechanic's garage." I told them. We plotted before I parked my bike and Derek picked me up.
" Lets get this over with." I said as Derek held my hand. Before long the game was going on and Derek beside me were waiting for Stiles at the school pools. Soon Erica brought Stiles in by the ear.
" Ah! Ah! Ah! " Stiles exclaimed before Erica let him go.
" Stiles." Derek says as I was calm but needed my freshwater source.
" Derek, Marina yay!" Stiles says in a sarcastic tone.
" What did you see at the mechanics garage?" Derek asked as he had a basketball in one hand. His claws were out in the other.
" Uh, several alarming EPA violations that I'm seriously considering reporting." Stiles says in a calm tone, soon Derek punctured the basketball with his claws.
" Holy God." Stiles said worried as Derek dropped the ball.
" Let's try that again." Derek said before I elbowed him.
" Please can you elaborate what you saw, the sooner we figure it out, the better chance we have of taking it out.' I said as Derek growled lowly, I smirked as he smiled a bit.
" All right, the thing was pretty slick looking. Um, skin was dark. Kind of patterned. Uh, I think I actually saw scales. Is that enough?" Stiles asked as he looked to be thinking clearly.
" Okay, because I've somebody I really need to talk to." Stiles resonates with his response. I shook my head and motioned my hand for him to give more.
" All right, fine, eyes. Eyes are, um, yellowish. And slitted. Um, has a lot of teeth." Stiles says as I saw something on the rail.
" Oh. And it's got a tail, too." Stiles said as his voice faded as I see this thing, it looked like a man lizard. I was shaking as fear drowned my soul.
" Are we good? What? " Stiles asked us. I was frozen.
" Wait, have you seen it?" Stiles asked us again.
" You have this look on your faces like you know exactly what I am talking about." Stiles said before I broke my frozen state and pointed for him to turn around to see the thing hiss at us.
" Run!" Derek told me, I ran only to feel some pain in my neck. Derek!
" Derek, your neck!" Stiles exclaimed before I ran back.
" Hey, come on. " I grabbed my mate. I saw Erica was knocked unconscious.
" Where is it? Can you see it? " Stiles asked as he helped me get Derek away.
" I can smell it. Please hurry. Call Scott!" Derek exclaimed as I saw he was going sluggish, that smell, it's a paralytic! Stiles stumbled and let Derek go into the pool!
" Stiles, you son of a bitch" I exclaimed as he looks behind me. I see the water and make a barrier for Stiles to jump into the water. I was slightly weak from not being in the water.
" Marina, jump in!" Derek exclaimed as I saw my barrier getting low.
" Screw this!" I growled before I jumped in. I felt my tail form as I transformed. I held them both up, but feel myself falter a bit about an hour goes by.
" Not that I'm not looking, but you are a mermaid, Marina." Stiles said as I chuckled.
" Don't look deep into it." I say as Derek growled.
" You get me out of here before I drown." Derek said as I can feel him paralyzed.
" You're worried about drowning? Did you notice the thing out there with multiple rows of razor-sharp teeth." Stiles exclaimed as I felt my body feeling tired.
" Did you notice I'm paralyzed from the neck down in eight feet of water?" Derek yelled as I took a hesitant breath.
" Okay. I don't see it." Stiles said as I see it.
" Wait, wait, wait, stop, stop." Derek said as I growled lowly.
" What's it waiting for?" Stiles asked as I huffed.
" Okay. Okay, I don't think I can do this much longer." Stiles said as I can tell he is out of breath.
" No, no, no. Don't even think about it." Derek exclaimed to him.
" Would you just trust me this once?" Stiles spat water in my imprint's face,
" No." Derek growled heavily.
" I'm the one keeping you alive, okay, have you noticed that?" Stiles said as I huffed.
" Yeah. And when the paralysis wears off, who is gonna be able to fight that thing, you or me? You don't trust me I don't trust you. You need me to survive, which is why you are not letting me go." Derek said clear, but Stiles let him go!
" You asshat!" I growled to him before taking a breath. I dove under, the heavy chlorinated water was making it difficult for me, but I managed to get my mate to the surface.
" I'm gonna need fresh water soon, it's causing me pain to be in chlorinated water." I told my mate as he nodded, taking in the fresh air. Derek nods.
" Tell me you got him." Derek asked as Stiles swam back over and helped me keep Derek up.
" I can't stay up any longer, I need something to hold on to." Stiles said before I swam them to the diving rails, but I gave out as everything went black. I woke up to Derek over me.
" You ok?" Derek asked as I nodded. I see Scott and Stiles over me as I see I still had my tail. It wasn't long before I was dried off and turned back to normal, my skin heavily flaking. It wasn't long before we were all outside.
" Is that even a language?" Stiles exclaimed as he was looking at a computer.
" How are we supposed to figure out what this thing is?" Scott said as I was leaning on Derek's car, flaking away.
" It's called a kanima." Derek explained as I thought heavily on Kanima, it's a werejaguar in some cases, but it was supposed to be a werewolf, but something of its past prevents it.
" You knew the whole time." Stiles says as I see my mate shaking her head.
" No. Only when it was confused by its own reflection." Derek told them.
" It doesn't know what it is." Scott says as I feel the conversation go foggy. I came to as Derek spoke.
" A shape-shifter, yes, but it's - it's not right. It's like a -." Derek stammered to find the right words.
" An abomination." Stiles said lowly.
" Derek? We need to work together on this. Maybe even tell the Argents." Scott says as I felt slight anger.
" You trust them?" I asked out of breath, I see some of my skin flaking off.
" Nobody trusts anyone! That's the problem. While we're here, arguing about who's on what side, there's something scarier, stronger and faster than any of us, and it's killing people and we still don't even know anything about it." Scott demands as I was leaning against the car, the heavily chlorinated water didn't help my skin.
" I know one thing, when I find it? I'm gonna kill it!" Derek said before picking me up.
" Go home." Derek had to Erica, who began to walk. Derek then drove me to the preserve.
" It's going to be ok." Derek said as I was lightheaded. I felt Derek picking me up and carrying me, my skin slightly flaking.
" We are here." Derek whispered before I was dropped into the water. I feel myself turn as my tail formed. I felt my skin remove the flaked skin and become anew.
" Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Derek asked after I surfaced.
" There are bigger things to worry about." I told him, he took my hand and calmed down. Derek gets up and removes his clothes, he gets in and swims next to me. The moonlight coating us in the clear blue water.
