Derek and I watched as Erica and Isaac were dragging Jackson into our hideout. Jackson looked very confused at this.
" What happened to you on the night of the full moon?" Derek asked him, the blonde looked afraid.
" What? Nothing. Nothing happened." Jackson says as small bits of fear fills him. He was hiding something.
" You're lying." I said as I flashed my eyes at him.
" No, wait. No, wait, I can - I can prove it. I taped myself." Jackson said as he looked straight at me.
" You taped yourself?" I asked him as he nodded.
" Yes. It was the full moon. And maybe while you were curled in the corner having an existential crisis about turning into a monster, I was preparing for the so-called gift your big, bad Alpha promised me, and what did I get? Nothing. You want proof? Let me get the video." Jackson says as he was trying to convince us.
" No. No, I have a better idea." Derek said as he walked over to the restrained blonde.
" What is that?" Jackson said as fear filled the room.
" You know, Jackson, you've always been kind of a snake - And everyone knows a snake can't be poisoned by its own venom." Derek said as I felt a thought enter my head. A saying that I once said as I saw Derek let a single drip of the Kanima's venom into Jackson's mouth. He soon became paralyzed.
" You're still a snake, Jackson, just not the one we're looking for." Derek said before I got up to the surface and went to my bike.
" Derek, even if Jackson doesn't seem like the Kanima, I believe he is." I said as he looked curious.
" A snake can't be poisoned by its own venom." I told him as he looked even more confused.
" The kanima is the kanima yes, but when is the Kanima not itself?" I asked as Derek's eyes lit up.
" When it's someone else." He said as I nodded.
" Did you smell blood on him?" I asked as he shook his head. I had to bring up Lydia.
" When I pass Lydia, I smell blood, her bite still hasn't healed." I said as he paced for a bit.
" She has to be something else, but not the Kanima." I said as he looked a bit irritated.
" Let's at least lure Lydia to a corner with Jackson and see what happens, no bloodshed. Unless one becomes the Kanima." I said as he sighed, I felt him understand my reason. I got on my bike after getting a hot kiss from my mate.
" God you sexy." I say as I almost bite my lower lip. Derek smirked as I got my helmet on and I drove home. I got inside and saw my Aunt Melissa in the kitchen.
" Hey Marina?" She asked as I got a drink from the fridge.
" Yes?" I asked as she smiled.
" I've noticed you been seeing someone." She said as I smiled.
" Who is it? Is it Derek Hale?" She asked as I felt my cheeks heating up.
" Yeah." I replied as she had her serious face on.
" You know he's a convict right?" She asked as I chuckled.
" Exonerated, never convicted." I corrected her as she nodded as if remembering.
" Are you two having safe sex? I know you are 18." Auntie asked as I blushed even harder, oh jeez never thought I would be talking to my aunt about my sex life.
" Yes, we are having safe sex, I promise. I'm not getting pregnant before I get my diploma." I said as she smiled.
" Do you love him?" She asked as I smiled.
" With everything I am, I do." I said as she came over and patted my shoulder.
" Hopefully it's not like my previous marriage." Auntie said as I remembered Uncle Rafe.
" Derek loves me with all his heart. He's only 24. I'll be 19 in October." I say as my aunt's pager went off.
" I got to head back in. Before I go, let's have dinner soon with your significant other." She says as I nodded. I watched my aunt leave before I went to my room and fell asleep.
Hissing and blood were heard and smelt as I felt my spine shifting. I jumped in a pond as I see the scaled lizard creature hissing at me, someone behind it snapped its fingers.
I woke up and got dressed with a white tank top, some black jeans, and a jean jacket and headed off to school to meet with Erica and Isaac after a few classes.
" You know what we have to do." I told them.
" So Derek wants this done during chemistry?" Erica asked me, I nodded.
" Yeah, and if it's Lydia, I'm gonna kill that bitch, all right?" Isaac said as I elbowed him.
" We have to test her first." Erica told him.
" But I'm working on my own theory. That its Jackson." I told them, they looked confused as the bell rang. It was my free period, so I went to the bleachers. I saw Derek and Boyd heading over to me. I looked into the chemistry classroom window. I see Lydia eating a crystal and not being affected. My theory is held as I looked at Derek. There are a few other supernatural immune to Kanima venom. I can think of four. I watched as Scott came out of the building.
" She failed the test." Derek said as Scott was bewildered.
" Yeah, which doesn't prove anything. Lydia's different." Scott says as Derek stood strong.
" I know, at night she turns into a homicidal walking snake or something else." Derek told my cousin with determination, we didn't want to kill Lydia.
" I'm not going to let you kill her." Scott said taking the only first few words Derek said and leaving the last part out.
" Who said I was gonna do it? or kill her for that matter we want to test her more." Derek said as I watched Boyd knockdown, Scott. I get up and held my hand out to my cousin. He took it and I helped him up.
" I don't know why you think you have to protect everyone now, Scott, but even so, Lydia might have killed people we don't know!" I say as I see Scott looking worried.
" She was bitten by an Alpha. It's her or someone else." Derek told Scott as my cousin was slightly shaking.
" You saw that thing up close. You know it's not like us." Scott bit back, he isn't listening to us!
" But it is! We're all shapeshifters. You don't know what you're dealing with. It happens rarely and it happens for a reason." Derek said slightly enraged, I could feel it filling my mind.
" What reason?" My cousin demanded.
" Sometimes the shape you take reflects the person that you are." I said lowly as I flashed my eyes.
" Well, what if she's immune? What if she's got something inside of her that makes her immune to the bite, which is why she didn't get paralyzed?" Scott asked me, I clammed up. I can't tell him my theory. He will get too involved and we may never know who it is. Derek must have felt my feeling and heard my inner thoughts, I see his eyes flash.
" No one's immune! I've never seen it or heard of it. It's n - it's never happened. But we don't know!" Derek stammered as I felt myself shaking.
" What about Jackson?" Scott asked as my eyes widened, does he think he has a theory?
" That's why you tested him, isn't it? Because you gave him what he wanted, didn't you?" Scott asked my mate.
" Peter said the bite either kills you or turns you. You were probably hoping that he would die. But nothing happened, right? And you have no idea why, do you?" Scott continued his thoughts. The reason the Kanima becomes of reality is because of something to do with its past!
" No." Derek growled out.
" Well, I have a theory. Lydia's immune, and somehow she passed it on to Jackson. You know I'm right." Scott tried to explain it. I wanted to tell him why, but I can't my thoughts are overlapping.
" No!" Derek's voice was shifting.
" You cannot do this!" Scott yelled, I see my hands shaking.
" Look, We can't have her on the streets! You should have known that!" Derek shouted as I felt my soul-shaking.
" I was hoping I would convince you, but then - I wasn't counting on it." Scott said before he ran off.
" I don't know what to think!" I screamed as I walk away and screamed, causing a fire hydrant to go off. I was scared as I felt Derek pull me in and calming down. I know in my heart that it's Jackson. The final bell rang out and I thought of where they had to have gone.
" They have to be at my house, it's the only thing he could have thought of, Jackson has to be there." I told my mate. Derek lets a low howl out and the rest of the pack shows up.
" So we all go over to Marina's house and circle the house. Marina's theory shows a lot of progress and we are going to lure out either Jackson or Lydia as the Kanima. Whichever it is, we have to take it out." Derek says as I calmed down. We all got over to my place, I smell Allison, Stiles, Jackson, and Lydia. The night continued as I looked at Isaac.
" Go for Jackson." I said as Isaac looked over to Derek, who nodded. Isaac went inside. It wasn't long before Erica went inside. I heard growling and snarling. Soon an unconscious Isaac and a paralyzed Erica, I see Scott, Stiles, and Allison come out.
" I think I'm finally getting why you keep refusing me, Scott. You're not an omega, you're already an Alpha of your own pack. But you know you can't beat me." Derek said with a smirk.
" I can hold you off until the cops get here." Scott said as I heard sirens. I hear hissing, the Kanima is here.
" Get them out of here." Derek told Boyd as I see the Kanima on the roof.
" Fucking snake!" I growled. My attention was brought on the porch with a freaked-out Lydia.
" Would someone please tell me what the hell is going on?" She screamed, I ran up to her.
" Are you ok?" I asked as she shook her head.
" I don't know where Jackson went!" She cried. I took her to Allison, who looked confused.
" Get her home." I told her, Allison looked a bit irritated.
" I'll explain later." I told her, right now that doesn't matter as I see Boyd is gone with Isaac and Erica and Derek looks at me. Allison takes Lydia out of here. I see Scott and Stiles looking at me.
" I had a theory about Jackson, we had to lure him out. The Kanima can't be killed, Derek and I were never after Lydia, but she is something else. That, we can worry about way later! We want to cure Jackson. Now, follow him and I'll make sure to keep an eye on Derek." I told them, they looked bewildered.
" Now go!" I exclaimed before they ran to Stiles' jeep and I got on my bike, my eyes aglow as I got my helmet on and found my mate's scent and rode off after him. Let's find this scaled motherfucker.
