I texted those words to Scott probably 12 hours ago. My phone was off and I was crossed on my bed in my loft. The left side of my ribs had five rough slashes from the night before. I tried to heal, but they were from an Alpha, specifically Kali. I got up as I saw the mid morning sky was clear through my window.
" You have to take care of yourself." Peter's voice said a few hours ago as I felt myself get up and head towards the window.
" As if! You didn't see him fall!" I screamed out as I went to punch him. He grabbed my hands as I was fighting the tears.
" He saved you!" He screamed as I felt my knees buckle. I felt my fangs form as my eyes glowed. I let out an earth-shattering cry as Peter pulled me into a hug. The tears streamed down my face as my ribs let loose some blood from my battle wound.
" They will pay if I have to see them suffer." I said quietly as I felt my ribs. They hurt, but stopped bleeding. I grabbed a chair and let my mind wonder. How did it all go wrong?
" I know where they are." Scott said as he came into my loft.
" Same building as the Argents, we know." Derek replied as I was next to my mate.
" Cora and I followed the twins." Boyd said as I snickered. All of this has to go right. I let my mind ease itself.
" Then they want you to know." Scott told us as I nodded.
" Or, more likely, they don't care." Peter stated as I rolled my eyes.
" Or more like they wish to lure us out and play cats cradle with our tendons." I said as they all looked at me.
" What is this?" Scott asked straight out.
" Isn't it obvious? The schemers are scheming, coming up with a coup de main, better known as a pre-emptive strike." Peter said in his most egotistical manner.
" You're going after them?" Scott asked worried as he looked at me to try to be the mediator.
" Tomorrow. And you're gonna help us." Derek told him.
" I feel dread with this plan, but as long as we make it out alive. I'm all of it." I told the group.
" They're one floor above them in the penthouse, right above Allison." Derek explained as I felt him rub my shoulder.
" So kill them first, that's the plan?" Scott asked worried, I know he doesn't ever want anyone dead, but if it helps with this. I don't know.
" They won't even see it coming." Boyd retorted as he looked at my cousin.
" Why is the default plan always murder? Just once, can someone try to come up with something that doesn't involve killing everyone?" Scott asked as I smirked.
" You never get tired of being so blandly moral, do you? Not that I disagree with him." Peter replied as I let a breath out.
" You know I could zap all their asses with my trident, but I'm useful even without my weapon." I said as I showed my claws.
" I do. Why do we need this kid?" Cora asked while I smirked.
" This kid helped save your life. And you know we can't just sit back and wait for them to make the first move. But again secret weapon here." I told her with my eyes glowing.
" You can't beat a pack of alphas." Scott told us as I crossed my arms.
" That's why we're going after Deucalion, just him." Cora retorted.
" Cut off the head of the snake and the body dies." Boyd recited a quote from myth.
" Only this isn't a snake, it's a hydra. And like Scott says, they're all alphas." Peter recanted to Boyd.
" Deucalion's still the leader." Derek said as I nodded.
" Let's hope so. Because you know what happened when Hercules cut off one of the heads of the hydra?" Peter asked the all-knowing question.
" Two more grew back in its place." Scott said as if it was fluent on his tongue.
" Somebody's been doing their summer reading." Peter said with a smirk.
" I don't want you going." Derek said as I smirked at him.
" Just know I am." I said as he looked to furrow his brow.
" I've knocked how many enemies on their asses?" I asked as he huffed.
" The moment you see danger run!" He exclaimed as I pulled him in for a kiss.
" Always As long as you promise to stay alive." I replied as I looked deep into those green eyes that bleed so much love.
I took a deep breath as I let my trident form. The moonstone was bonded to me. As much as I wished it could heal Derek, I was dragged away before I had the chance to do it.
" Stupid." I said as I used its power and zapped a wall, leaving a blacked spot on the brick finish. I calmed down as I looked at my trident. I let it go to necklace mode. I stood in the mouth of the brick hole that lead to another part of the loft.
" They shouldn't have dragged me off." I said as my mind wondered again.
" You didn't come alone." Deucalion's voice echoed to my cousin as I was in hiding. My eyes glowing, my fangs bared, and claws at the ready.
" Yeah. This is Isaac." Scott's voice echoed as I walked with Derek.
" I'm not talking about Isaac." The blind alpha said as Boyd, Cora, Derek, and I came out of hiding.
" You knew I would do this? Derek, don't." Scott told my mate.
" You can't do this so no one gets hurt. If someone else dies." Scott pleaded to us. I formed my trident.
" Him. Just him." Derek growled as he pointed to the biggest threat in the fucking room.
" Just me? Now, how's a blind man find his way into a place like this all on his own?" The blind Alpha asked. Kali appeared as did Ennis and the twins.
" Oh fuck." I growled. I went for the twins, trying to swipe them with my weapon as they dodged. They slammed into me and I fell, still holding the trident. I got up and I felt claws swipe my ribs. I growled out as I saw Kali had gotten me. I tried to strike her, but she somehow got her hand on my throat as Cora was under her foot. My trident became my necklace again.
" God fuck!" I cried out as I saw the fighting ceasing.
" Kill him. The others can go. You're beaten. Do it, Derek. Take the first step." Deucalion said as I saw Derek was worried.
" Are we serious with this kid? Look at him. He's an Alpha? To what? A couple of useless teenagers?" Kali asked as she gripped my throat a bit tighter.
" Some have more promise than others. And some more surprising." The blind alpha said with a grin.
" Let him rise to the occasion then. What'll it be, Derek? Pack, family or mate?" The female alpha said as she pressed on Cora's throat with her foot and got tighter on my throat with her hand.
" You are so fucked." I said as I heard the faintest whooshing of an arrow being fired.
" Aah! Aah! Your eyes... cover your eyes!" The blind Alpha cried. I got free of Kali's grip. I saw as Ennis and Scott clash but parted as I saw Scott's eyes go red, bright red. THey go back to yellow as I felt a hand grip my shirt. Ennis!
" I don't think so fucker!" I snapped as I punched him. He had my shoulder, we were close to the edge! I felt a force pull me from Ennis. I saw the red eyes and familiar face.
" Derek!" I screamed out as I watched him go over the edge. I watched him fall. I watched the crash of both of them. I let out a scream as I felt two people dragging me away from the edge.
" I can save him! I can save him!" I screamed out.
" You Can't!" Scott screamed at me as he dragged me out of the building.
I was pulled out of my thoughts as the alarm went off. The night sky let the light of the moon into my loft. I pressed the button and saw the door open. There wounded and barely able to stand, Derek, collapsed. I ran over to him.
" How are you alive?" I asked as the bond exploded that my mate was alive! It is filled with pain, worry, and a small amount of happiness.
" I made a promise." He said as I smiled.
