I waited by Derek to wait for him to awaken from healing Cora.
All this time why would the bitch do this? Hiding behind all these lies? Whats the damn end game? To just kill them all, to kill us? What did she want?
I feel my mind twisting and turning. I see Derek stirring as Cora has him drinking some water. Thank god!
" You're okay." He said as I saw her smile. I got down to his level. He smiled as he placed his forehead against mine.
" I'm doing much better than you are right now, and all because of you." Cora said with the biggest grin on his face.
" Thank god you are alive! I was hoping I didn't have to drag your soul back into your body." I said with a chuckle. I felt tears brimming my eyes. I don't know what I would do without him.
" No way am I dying on you. My wolf wouldn't allow it." He said with that seductive grin. I swear he is a devil of lust with how it drips of his body. I just smiled, but the air thickened as Peter's scent entered the room.
" Hopefully not all for nothing. The moon is rising, Derek. You drained your battery all the way to the red, And there is a fully charged alpha on her way to rip you limb from limb." Peter said as the malice under his tongue was clear.
" I'll be fine in a few hours. Marina can help." Derek said lowly to him as if telling his uncle to shut the fuck up. I looked at the beta with my eyes glowing as I stood up. I won't be questioned by what I am or by my strength.
" I sincerely hope so, because a few hours is all that you have." Peter said staring into my eyes as I huffed. I helped Derek up and placed my hand on his shoulder. I sat with him on the bed as the door was knocked on. I got up quickly and got my trident out ready to strike. I saw Lydia and Ethan enter the loft. What the hell!
" What are you doing with the enemy?" I asked as I felt my skin rise as my heart began to pound in my chest. Derek took my hand.
" We know about the lunar eclipse, So don't think Kali's gonna sit around waiting for it to level the playing field. She's coming, and my brother's coming with her." Ethan said as I huffed at this. Well fucking great!
" Good enough for me. Derek?" Peter said before looking towards Derek and I.
" You want me to run? As in flee?" Derek asked him with a bit of defiance in his tone.
"No. I want you to stay and get slaughtered by an alpha with a psychotic foot fetish. Of course I want you to run. Sprint, gallop, leap your way the hell out of this town. Get Marina out of here with you. Keep her safe." Peter said as I growled out loud.
" If you want to fight and die for something, that's fine with me, but do it for something meaningful." Cora told us as I flashed my eyes.
" How do you know I'm gonna lose? With Marina by my side I won't lose." He said to his sister with meaning. I smirked at this.
" We don't, but I'll bet she has an idea. Don't you, Lydia?" Peter asked the strawberry blond, she looked as if blanking before looking up.
" I don't know anything." She said as confusion but a knowing look appeared on her face.
" But you feel something, don't you?" Peter asked her as if saying to speak her knowing feeling.
" What do you feel? What is your brain screaming at you?" I asked her as she gulped before speaking.
" I feel like... I'm standing in a graveyard." She told us. I looked at Derek.
" We have to go, I know you want to fight. I can't risk your life." I told him as he nodded and took me to the lower level with Cora tailing behind us. We got into the silver hummer. I quickly buckled up.
" Don't call until you're at least 100 miles away. Go!" Peter demanded of us. Derek quickly peeled out of there. I had a feeling in my gut that people were gonna die tonight. It wasn't long before we heard the ear piercing scream.
" What the hell was that?" Cora demanded as I turned my head back.
" Lydia. We have to go back." Derek said before turning around and headed back to the loft where we had seen the bodies. The blood smell made me feel like my stomach was gonna roll.
" You did this for me?" Derek asked as he took my hand to keep me safe.
" For us. For anyone who's ever been their victim." Jennifer said as she portrayed her story, oh fuck off.
" Stop talking to me like a politician. Stop trying to convince me of your cause!" Derek yelled in anger, but I place a hand on his shoulder. If she can do this imagine what she can do to us.
" Fine, I'll convince you of someone else's. Scott. You can save his mother, Stiles's father." Jennifer says with a solemn look.
" How?" Derek asked her as she tried to look closer at me.
" I need a guardian, And that's a role that can either be filled by the three parents I was forced to take or by you." Jennifer said as she pointed at us. Wait she wanted us to help her.
" I can't help you. I'm not even an alpha anymore." Derek said as he flashed his eyes at her. She shrugged.
" All I need is for you to help me get Deucalion in the right place at the right time." She said as I growled lowly. I want her dead!
" You just killed three of them on your own. What do you need me for?" Derek asked as I can feel his rage.
" You haven't seen him at his strongest. I have. And If he's got Scott with him, I don't stand a chance unless I have you." Jennifer says as I growled.
" Derek, don't trust her." Cora yelled at him.
" I have the eclipse in my favor, But the moon's only gonna be in the earth's umbra shadow for 15 minutes. That's the extent of my window. There's no decision to struggle with. Help me kill him, and the others live. Just help me." She told
" Looks like we don't have a choice." Derek said as I sighed.
" Let's get this over with." I said as the three of us left. We were in the woods before the druid's phone went off.
" You see this symbol? It's a symbol of revenge. You talk about balance, about saving people. We know what you really want. And now you know where to find us." Scott's video said as I was surprised, so he was with Deucalion. Was it apart of a plan or what? We made our way to the distillery. I see Scott and Deucalion inside.
" What are you doing?" Scott asked of us. I looked away.
" This might be hard to believe, but I'm actually trying to help you." Derek said as I felt torn.
" Ooh, like brother against brother. Cousin versus cousin. How very American this is. Are you ready, Jennifer? Hmm? Did you gather your herbs, pray to your ancient gods and your oak trees, slit a baby's throat, perhaps?" The demon wolf said as he threw his walking staff.
" Should we show them why you needed to sacrifice nine innocent people just to face me? Or is it 12 now?" He said as he transformed. I growled and half shifted, my trident came out and I went to stab Deucalion, however he threw me against a wall. My back came in contact with it. I growled out as I saw Deucalion grab Jennifer.
" Kill her. Do it." He told my cousin, I went and hid. He roared out at Scott causing him to turn.
" Now kill her. Your parents are dying. That storm you hear, she's burying them alive. It's her connection to the telluric currents. kill her, and it ends." The alpha growled out.
" It won't end. Not with me. He'll have you, kill everyone, you love. It's what he does. Probably staring with your cousin." Jennifer said to my cousin.
" They're dying, Scott. Your mother and the parents of your best friends. kill her now, and it's over. Become the alpha you're meant to be. Become a killer." Deucalion growled out at him.
" They're not dead yet." Scott said to him. I got up.
" And who's going to save them, your friends?" The alpha growled out.
" My pack." Scott told him with vibrant golden eyes. In the blink of an eye, Deucalion has my cousin.
" Maybe you just need a little guidance." Deucalion said with a growl. Scott strained but stopped quickly.
" I forgot to tell you something. Something that Gerard told me. "Deucalion... isn't always blind." " Scott said before slamming what looked to be arrow head to the ground. Sparks flew as I covered my eyes. I got in sight as the eclipse started.
" The eclipse. It started." Deucalion said as I saw Jennifer in her scarred up form. She slammed Scott then grabbed Deucalion and repeatedly slammed him down. I'm not affected by the moon.
" Jennifer!" I screamed out.
" He doesn't know." I screamed as she looked at me.
" Know what?" She growled lowly.
" What you really look like? He knew of a cost, but not the payment.
" No. No, he hasn't." Jennifer said before crouching down and healing him. His screams are loud and pain-filled. She pulls away as I let my trident to return to its necklace state.
" Turn to me. Turn to me!" She screamed. Deucalion looks at her, he has no cloudy eyes. She goes to strike him however she falters. I caught her.
" What is this?" She asked.
" Healing him made you weak, just like healing Cora did to Derek. So, give it a moment." I said as she nodded.
" Then you do it. kill him." She asked of me. I shook my head.
" What?" She asked me as I growled.
" I never would kill anyone." I said before gripping her neck.
" Let them go." Derek growled as she looked at him before growling at me and throwing me across the room. Luckily I see Derek is gonna kill her, but she slams him repeatedly into a wall. No!
" Derek." Jennifer whispered as I got up, she was touching his face! Hell no! My eyes glow, fangs bared and claws out.
" Back off bitch!" I snarled at her before I felt my tattoo burned, my water dragon came out and surrounded me. I slammed into Jennifer as my tail slammed her.
" Your 15 minutes are up." I said with a loud smile before going for her, but she grips my throat as I go for her again. My water dragon going into the tattoo and I was in my mermaid state. Fuck! She surrounded us in a mountain ash barrier.
" Like I told you, Derek, either you or the parents. Well, I guess I'll just have to take them now with your mate! In a few minutes, they'll be dead, and I won't need a lunar eclipse, even to kill a demon wolf." She said choking me. I see Scott coming the the edge of the barrier. Please save me!
" You've tried this before, Scott. I don't remember you having much success." She said as I watched Scott slowly but effectively break through the barrier. As he did so his eyes went from the vibrant gold to a seering red. He became a true Alpha. Derek pulled me away as Jennifer fell to the ground. Derek checked me quickly.
" How did you do that?" Jennifer said as I saw Scott stood strong.
" I'm an alpha now. Whatever you're doing to cause this storm, make it stop, or I'll kill you myself. I don't care what it does to the color of my eyes." Scott told her.
" It won't change the color of mine, so allow me." Deucalion said before slashing her throat open. She fell to the ground and her true form was unveiled. Scott and Deucalion talked. I heated up and gained my human state.
" You going to be ok?" Derek asked as I sighed. I felt tired.
" Yes, for the most part. Lets just hope all of this ends." I said as Derek then placed a deep kiss on me. Derek and I walked over to Scott and Deucalion.
" My mother told me you were a man of vision once. We're letting you go because we hope you can be that man again." Derek said as he took my hand.
" But if you're not, then having your eyesight back won't matter, because you'll never see us coming." Scott said as we watched him leave. I hugged Scott and with Derek by my side, we left.
" I think it will be best to take Cora back to South America." Derek said as we got in the car. I nodded as he kissed my forehead. We got back to the loft and he spoke to Cora. She agreed as well. Derek and I fell asleep cuddling. I woke up to see Derek dressed as Cora was ready to go. I got up, I was wearing a black tank top and yoga pants.
" You gonna be ok?" I asked as I walked over.
" Of course, I'll be back in about a week. Gotta take her back." Derek said before placing a kiss upon my lips.
" I'm glad you are Derek's mate. I'll make sure he gets me to where I have to go." Cora said before she hugged me.
" Stay safe." I said as they left. I'll miss him, but he will be back. I get dressed and go to school. I see Scott and Stiles. I went up and hugged them. Back to my life. Or so I thought!
