Isobel smiled softly at her husband who was looking at her like he had seen a ghost. "It's good to see you Ric." She said. When he didn't say anything, she continued, "You look good. I heard that you're a high school history teacher. How is that?"

Alaric ignored her questions. "Where have you've been Isobel?" he asked wearily.

"I don't have any reasons that are gonna comfort you." Isobel said in a matter of fact tone of voice. "I don't have any explanations that are gonna satisfy you." She looked down for a moment before looking Ric the eye. "I wanted this."

"It's that simple?" Alaric asked in disbelief.

Isobel nodded. "Yeah. You were supposed to mourn me, and move on."

"You were my wife, and I loved you." Alaric told her emotionally. "How can I not search for you?"

"Because I wasn't lost, Ric…"

Alaric didn't say anything as Isobel stood up, took a piece of paper, and started writing something down

Isobel talked while she wrote her note down. "I understand that you know my daughter Elena and my nieces, but I hear Elena's looking for me, so…" She pushed the paper on the bar towards Alaric. "I want you to arrange a meeting for us."

Alaric grabbed the paper and looked at it, scoffing to himself. "You want me to deliver a message?" He said slowly.

Isobel smiled. "Yeah…"

He threw the paper to the ground and stood up quickly. "Screw you," he sneered, and Isobel's face went cold. "You selfish bitch." He didn't let Isobel say anything as he left the Grill.

Once outside, Alaric headed to his car with his keys in his hands. As soon he was there, he pressed the unlock button on the keys and then he felt something beside him. He turned around and sure enough, there was Isobel.

"What do you want from me?" he demanded.

"I told you." Isobel said simply.

Alaric glared at her. "I'm not gonna do anything for you."

In a blink of an eye, Isobel had him pressed against his car as she strangled him by the neck with her face changing. "You better tell Elena that I want to meet or I'm going to start killing the citizens one by one." She sneered, her face going back to normal, squeezing his neck even harder causing him to sputter. She lifted him up by the neck, still pressing him to the car, "And I'm gonna start with your history students. Got it?"

She tossed him to the ground as hard as she could and he stumbled, going onto his back as he tried to catch his breath. Isobel left him there. Alaric groaned as he sat up, seeing the note on the ground. He grabbed the paper and stood up before looking down at the note. After looking at the note for a couple minutes, Alaric looked in the direction that Isobel left in.

"Right, so, I don't even remember how Caroline even roped me into helping her with building the stupid Miss Mystic Falls float for the Founders' Day Parade" Charlene rolled her eyes as she talked into the speaker phone with Damon while she got ready for school.

"You part of the founding families, shouldn't you be excited about helping?"

"I leave that stuff to Caroline and Megan." Charlene answered, rolling her eyes again. "I rather stay in my room and sleep in."

"Well, don't go then."

Charlene scoffed. "And face the wrath of Caroline? I don't think so." She giggled at her own joke as she brushed her hair.

"Hey, is that Damon?" Megan suddenly asked, coming out from the bathroom. She spent the night again. It was something she had been doing a lot lately since her and Bonnie weren't on speaking terms at the moment.

"Yeah, it's him."

"Ooh great. How's Stefan doing?"

"Ask him yourself."

"Could you tell your boyfriend to just tell me instead of being a dick about it?" Megan pouted.

Charlene shoved Megan away from her with a glare. "Shut up, he's not my boyfriend." Her best friend smirked at her and she blushed. At least Damon couldn't see it. She quickly changed the subject. "How is Stefan doing?"

"Oh, he's…he's terrible."

"What?" Megan asked in alarm.

"He's just back to his boring, strait-laced, off the junk self."

Megan glared at her phone. "That's not funny, Damon! You had me worried!"

Charlene didn't need to see Damon to know he was rolling his eyes and he ignored her best friend's statement.

"Megan successfully cured him of anything that was interesting about his personality."

"Megan wasn't the only to do that, you did too, remember?" Charlene reminded him with a smirk.

"I hate myself."

"Well, if you guys are just gonna be flirting, I'm gonna head on to school." Megan teased, and Charlene grabbed a nearby pillow, tossing it at her.

But her best friend dodged it, sticking her tongue out at her playfully. Charlene glared at her in response as Megan left the bedroom. Oh, she was gonna get her for that later. But hey, at least her best friend was okay with her feelings for Damon.

Speaking of him, at least he didn't make a comment about Megan's statements like she thought he would.

"Did Uncle John mention anything to you about our field trip with the history teacher?"

Charlene frowned. "No, but I've still been avoiding him. Why? Is he up to something?"

"I don't know. But I'd love if you could find out for me."

"I rather keep avoiding, but if it'll help, I'll see what I can find out, but not right now, I got to go before Caroline gets onto me for being late." Charlene told him, putting her bag over her shoulder and grabbing her cellphone.

"Have fun with the Mystic queen, I know I did."

"Not funny." Charlene rolled her eyes. "Talk to you later?"

"Sure thing, girlfriend."

The blonde blushed before hanging up the phone. Yep, she was going to get Megan.

Her best friend hadn't left since she was behind the door when she opened it.

"Finally done flirting I see." Megan teased.

"Shut up. What happened to going to school?"

"I forgot that you're my ride." Megan shrugged.

Charlene shook her head. "Of course."

"Alright, it's your turn to shut up." Her best friend nudged her playfully. "So, you and Damon a thing now?"

"No, of course not. Not that I'm not glad you're okay with us being a thing."

"Well, I might not understand what you see in Damon of all people, but if he makes you happy, then I'm happy for you."

Charlene smiled, locking arms with Megan. "Well, thanks, but we're not a thing. He's still in love with Abigail and the last thing I need is to be with someone who's in love with someone else.

"Yeah…"

She shook her head. "Anyway, enough guy talk, we need to get to school before Caroline nags us about being late

Megan giggled as they headed out the front door.

Everyone at Mystic Falls High School was having fun making the floats for the Founder's Day parade. At a table in the cafeteria, Alaric was passing out papers to his students.

"So, these are the specs for the History Department. For the Founder's Day float, we will be recreating the battle of Willow Creek." He explained. "Tyler's be nominated at the head of the production design."

"By whom?" Tyler asked with wide eyes.

Alaric looked at him as he sat down Matt's paper, "By me. I've seen you sketches and they're good."

"I'm not really into the whole…"

Alaric didn't let him finish protesting. "Well, just pick your team, be creative and…" He trailed off when he saw Megan, Elena, Stefan, and Charlene enter the cafeteria. "Don't screw up." He walked away, heading towards them.

Tyler groaned. "Great!" He leaned forward towards Matt. "You want to help me out with this?"

Matt's eyes narrowed at his friend, well ex friend at the moment. "No really no." He said coldly, looking down at the paper as Tyler leaned back in his seat and sighed.

Megan giggled as she walked into the cafeteria with her friends and her boyfriend. She was smiling happily. She was just glad things were getting back to normal. No drama.

But as she saw Alaric coming up to them and the look on his face, the smile fell, and she knew the non-drama thing was long gone. It didn't help at the words that came out of his mouth once he was in front of them.

"Come with me. We need to talk."

Here we go again.

Megan sighed as she shared a look with Elena, Charlene, and Stefan before they all followed Alaric to his classroom, and he explained everything.

Everyone was in shock.

Isobel was back. Her and Charlene's aunt…Elena's mother…and she wanted to meet Elena.

But why was the million-dollar question.

They sat in silence as Damon came into the classroom. Charlene had called him in because he needed to know about the new development too.

Alaric sighed at the sight of him. "Damon, thanks for coming."

"Sorry I'm late." He said, "My dog ate my uh…" He trailed off, seeing the stressed look on Charlene's face. "Nevermind…" He then noticed the furrowed eyebrows on Elena, Stefan, and Megan's. "What's with all the furrowed brows?"

"I saw Isobel last night." Alaric told him.

"Isobel's here?" Damon questioned, surprised. "In town?" He glanced at Charlene for confirmation.

"Yeah, she's here." The blonde said quietly as she looked at Elena, whose eyes looked so sad and scared too. Charlene grabbed her sister's hand and squeezed.

John drove up the driveway of the house that Isobel was occupying for the time being. He parked the car and got out of it, going immediately to the front door. John entered the house and was met with music.

He took off his sunglass, went through the living room, and headed to one of the rooms in the house only to see a man and woman dancing provocatively with each other.. He glanced at the large chair in the room and saw Isobel sitting there watching the couple lustfully.

"You're late." Isobel said, looking away from the couple to look at John.

"I didn't realize there was a schedule." John nodded to the dancing couple, "What's with the side show?"

Isobel looked at the couple with a smirk. "Cherie is a little jazz singer I picked up in a blues bar in Brooklyn. And I got the cowboy at a gay rodeo in Amarillo." She looked back at John, still smirking.

"He's gay?"

"Not right now, he's very good to me," Isobel told him. She looked back at the man and woman. "Hey Cherie?" Cherie stopped dancing immediately and so did the man as she continued to speak to Cherie in French, "Cassez vous!" Cherie and the man left, and once they were gone, she turned her gaze back at John with another smirk. "I'm teaching them French." She scoffed, seeing the judgment written all over John's face, "Oh! I can smell the judgment coming off of you."

"They're people Isobel." John snapped. "And you're treating them like they're dolls."

She glared at him as she rubbed her hands together, "If we're gonna be partners you really have to stop being such a hater."

"We're in a partnership because we share a mutual goal. Don't ever confuse that for an acceptance for your lifestyle."

"My lifestyle." Isobel said in disbelief. John didn't say anything, so she changed the subject, crossing her arms over her chest, "So, I assume you still don't have the invention."

John shook his head. "I'll get it. I said I would."

"Uh, you threatened to expose Damon Salvatore, that didn't work. You killed that pearl lady and that still didn't work, and you still don't have the invention." Isobel scoffed, "I really don't think your plan is working John."

"Well you being here is not going to help anything."

John immediately knew that wrong thing to say. But before he could correct himself, she smacked him hard in the face and he fell to the ground, groaning.

"You failed John." She growled out. "I'm going to take it from here." She stared at John, who was now leaning against the wall, for a few minutes before leaving him sitting there.

"Did you ask her about Uncle John? Are they working together?"

"No."

"No, they're not?"

"No, I didn't ask."

"What about the invention?"

"Didn't ask."

"Did she know about the tomb vampires?"

"Did words completely escape you?" Damon growled in his face.

Alaric didn't flinch, glaring at him. "No, I was little too distracted by my dead vampire wife to ask any questions!"

Charlene was quick to jump between before something happened, putting one hand on Damon's chest and the other on Alaric's. "But of you stop it especially you Damon!" she snapped. "This is seriously not the time, okay? We have more important things to deal with like Isobel, remember? Just stop the fighting. Please." Her voice cracked a bit, the emotions of what was happening getting to her.

Damon's face softened at the sight. "Sorry." He apologized, brushing her blonde hair out of her face.

Charlene was the surprised by the gesture, but she took it. "Thank you." She said softly as she let out a deep breath and let it out before moving out between the two men to go back next to Elena.

"What did she want?" Damon questioned.

"She wants to meet me." Elena answered softly as he looked over at her.

"Alaric is supposed to arrange a meeting." Stefan explained further. "We don't know why or what she wants."

"I'll see her." She said. "It's not like I have a choice anyway."

At Damon's questioning look, Alaric added, "She's threatened to go on a killing spree."

"Oh! I take it that's not okay with you guys.

"Obviously not." Charlene rolled her eyes, then she looked over at her sister. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

Elena said nothing for a moment, meeting the blonde's gaze. "I want to do it. I want to meet her. If I don't, I know I'll regret."

"Well, you aren't going to meet her by yourself, I'm going too." Charlene told her as she put an arm around her sister's shoulders. "That's part of the deal. If she wants to meet Elena, she has to meet me too. I want answers too."

"Me too." Megan agreed. "So, tell Isobel, if she wants to meet Elena, we have to be there."

There was a pause before Alaric nodded. "Okay. I'll tell her."
