Caroline sat on the couch in the library of the boarding house, her body still shaking with fear about what happened not even an hour ago. She had already told Damon about it and he was getting a drink of blood for her to calm her nerves.

Damon finally came back, drink in hand. "Here."

Caroline was quick to grab it as both of her hands wrapped around the glass. "I'm still shaking." She mumbled before taking a sip of the blood as Stefan entered the room.

"What happened?"

Damon nodded towards the blonde. "Go ahead, tell him." He smirked in Stefan's direction. "You're going to love this."

The youngest Salvatore crossed his arms and waited for Caroline to start. He didn't have to wait for too long.

"I saw Katherine today." Caroline said, and Stefan straightened up.

"Where?"

"At the Grill. I just stopped by to gawk and…quasi-stalk Matt." Caroline smiled sheepishly.

Flashback…

Caroline walked into the Grill, stopping immediately when she spotted Matt tending to tables. She watched him until he finally caught her staring.

Staring at her oddly, he asked, "Do you need a table?"

"No, I'm not staying." Caroline sputtered out. "I just needed to use the little girl's room." She didn't let him say anything as she hurried into the bathroom.

She literally had to pretend to use the restroom. Why did she have to be such a doofus? Caroline stood in front of the sink now, shaking her head and rolling her eyes at herself, as she washed her hands. She looked up into the mirror, nearly jumping out of her skin at the sight Katherine standing there. If it wasn't for Elena being at her house, Caroline definitely would have thought it was her best friend, but then again, the curly hair did kind give it away as well.

"Elena?" She said her name, making it sound like a question as she pretended she had no idea that this was actually Katherine.

"Hey, I saw you with Matt earlier." Katherine said, faking the concern, even though in her voice, it sounded like she meant it. But Caroline knew better. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, you know…whatever." There was a pause, then she tried to use her super speed to run out of the room, but Katherine was faster than her and blocked the door. Caroline tensed up at her being so close. Even though, it wasn't Demetria, she was scared of all the sisters, but Katherine and Demetria specifically. She hadn't exactly had any run ins with Abigail.

Katherine smirked at her reaction. "You're good." She complimented. "What gave me away? Was it my hair? Or was it the clothes?"

"I know Elena is…I know Elena's at home."

"Mm, well I need you to send a message to the Salvatore boys. Seeing as how Demetria's threats and Abigail trying to get the moonstone failed, looks like I have to get my own hands dirty, and trust me, that's never a good thing."

End Flashback…

"What was the message?" Stefan pressed.

Caroline took a breath and let it out. "She wants the moonstone, or she'll rip the town apart 'until it rains blood.' Her words not mine."

"Tell him the rest."

"It's going to happen at the Masquerade ball…tonight."

Stefan frowned. "She wants to do it in public." He said, "Killing Mason threw all of them off guard."

"They're running scared." Damon pointed out, looking all too pleased by this. "What they did to Jenna was desperate. "They're out of tricks."

"We can't underestimate them. We have to play smarter than them."

Caroline glanced at each of the brothers. "Can we just give the moonstone to them, so they'll leave?" she suggested hopefully. Anything to get out of all of this sooner.

Damon scoffed at the very idea. "No, Katherine's not getting dick. None of them are." He started to leave the room. "I've had. I'm gonna go to the masquerade ball tonight and I'm gonna kill them, tonight."

Stefan stepped in front of his brother, putting a hand up. "You're not gonna kill them." This earned an over exasperated eye roll.

"Don't give me that goody-goody crap."

"You're not going to kill them."

Damon rose an eyebrow at Stefan. "Really?"

"Because we're going to kill them together."

This made Damon smirk. That sounded much better.

Megan hurried downstairs when she heard the front door open up. She was at the Gilbert house waiting for Charlene and Elena to come back from the hospital. Jenna was coming home today! Megan was so relieved her favorite adult was okay to be discharged from the hospital. She still felt horrible this happened to her, all because she stayed with Stefan and ignored Demetria's threats, but there was no changing the past, so she just kept reminding herself Jenna was okay and hadn't died from stabbing herself in the stomach.

She managed to get downstairs just as her friends, Jeremy, Jenna, and Matt entered the house. Megan quicky went to help out, grabbing the stuff out of Elena's arms, which consists of flowers and cards from people.

"I'm so happy you're okay, Jen!" She gushed. "I was so worried about you!" She got a smile, and she smiled back before quickly going over to Charlene's side. "How are you doing?"

"I'm fine, just happy Jenna's back home." Charlene answered as she wrapped one of her arms around her aunt and turned her head in her direction, a serious look on her face. "Be careful today. You need to rest up and take things easy."

"I know, but I'm really fine. Stop fussing."

"Not gonna happen." Charlene said.

Elena nodded. "Besides, it was the doctors' orders for you to rest up, not ours." She added.

"You don't want to rip your stitches, hemorrhage and die, alright?" Jeremy pointed out.

Jenna managed a small laugh. "Yeah, the only thing I'm gonna die from is embarrassment."

Matt smiled. "No."

"I walked into a knife." Jenna said, shooting Megan, Elena, Charlene, and Jeremy a look of disbelief. "How does somebody do that?"

Megan couldn't help but giggle at Jenna's bewitherment. "It was just a freak accident, that's all." She tried to reassure her.

"Yep." Elena and Charlene agreed, all of them sharing looks with one another.

"It happens." Jeremy added with a shrug.

"Yeah, I mean I've done it like twenty times at the Grill." Matt joked, making Jenna laugh little harder but then she winced at the sharp pain that shot through her briefly. "Okay, I'm being nice." He helped Jeremy put Jenna carefully on the couch before grabbing a grocery bag from the ground. "What should I do with this?"

"I got it." Charlene said, taking the bag from Matt. "You can just stay in here and keep Jenna company." She went into the kitchen, and Megan followed behind her along with Elena. "Thank god she's out of there. I thought she never would." She said, starting to take the stuff out of the bag.

Megan opened her mouth to say something, but was cut off by Jeremy as he joined them in the kitchen.

"So, what are we going to do?"

"What do you mean? We're going to start making lunch." Charlene said, sitting the stuff down on the counter. "I'm starving."

Jeremy gave her a look. "No, about the Pierce sisters?"

"There's nothing to do Jer." Charlene didn't look at her brother. "It's done and over with, okay?"

"They tried to kill Jenna." Jeremy reminded, like they needed one. "We can't let them get away with that."

Charlene didn't say anything this time, but Elena did. "Yes we can." She said as she got out the cooking supplies for lunch. "If it keeps us safe, then we can."

"And why if they try something again?"

This time, Megan spoke up, getting Jeremy to look over at her. "None of them are going to do anything now, especially not Demetria." She answered him quietly. "She only hurt Jenna because I didn't listen, and I stayed with Stefan. I broke up with him, no need to do anything now. Like your sister said, it's done and over with."

Jeremy looked a little frustrated at all of them. "You are all being naïve, and you know it." He headed out of the kitchen.

"Where are you going?" Elena asked, confused.

"Out." He responded shortly before he completely left, leaving them alone with each other.

Charlene sighed at Jeremy's reaction, and Megan placed a hand on her shoulder, earning a weak smile from her best friend. She knew Charlene hated to just be here and not doing anything to get back at the sisters for all the drama they were causing here. It was better this way though. There was no need to provoke them even more than they already had been.

Abigail sat in Demetria and Katherine's bedroom on one of the beds, waiting for her sisters to come back from shopping. They were off getting dresses for the masquerade ball. She would have gone with them, but she honestly didn't want to go to the ball at all. She didn't want to run into Damon, and she knew she would if she went.

Also, she was too sad to go, thinking about what happened with Mason. Now that he was dead, she realized how much she missed him. Why did this always happen to her? The minute she starts to care about someone, they die, or she had to fake her death. She knew the latter part was a good thing though as the last thing her or her sisters needed was to get caught and running around was the only way to do it. Abigail still hated it. She was done running and being the scapegoat for her sisters.

Her thoughts were broken by Demetria and Katherine entering the room, both of them lugging all kinds of shopping bags with the help of Mrs. Flowers.

"Got enough clothes there?" Abby asked, raising her eyebrows at all the bags.

Demetria grinned. "You can never have too many clothes."

Giggling a bit, Katherine nodded in agreement as she turned to Mrs. Flowers.

"Where should I put these?" The older woman asked.

Katherine nodded towards the bed Abigail wasn't on. "Right there." She said, and Mrs. Flowers sat the bags down. She gave the older woman an overly sweet smile. "Thank you, Mrs. Flowers. You've been such a wonderful help."

"Oh, it's my pleasure dear. Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you." Mrs. Flowers smiled at each of them.

"We will." Katherine said as she watched the older woman leave the room. She grabbed a dress from one of the bag and turned around to face Abigail. "What do you think? This is the dress I bought for you."

Abigail made a face. "I thought I told you I didn't want to go to the masquerade ball."

"Well, I thought you'd change your mind when I told you Damon was going to be there." Katherine smirked, but then it fell as she gave her sister a stern look. "You're going whether you like it or not, Abigail." The underlining threat in her sister's voice made her groan and roll her eyes.

"Fine." Abigail grumbled under her breath.

"Fine." Abigail grumbled under her breath. Just then, a woman appeared in the room, but it was someone they all recognized, so she didn't flinch at the sight of her and neither did Demetria. As always though, Katherine had to be the dramatic one.

She rushed at the woman and shoved her against the wall.

"Oh, Kat, chill."

Katherine glared at Lucy Bennett. Yes, you heard right. This woman was related to Bonnie.

"Do not sneak up on a vampire." Katherine threatened, releasing her. Demetria giggled while Abigail just shook her head.

"Don't attack a witch." Lucy smirked. "It's good to see you girl." She pulled Katherine into a hug as she looked over her shoulder at Abigail and Demetria. "Nice to see you girls too."

"Hey, Luce." Demetria greeted brightly as Abigail nodded at Lucy in response.

Katherine returned the hug briefly before releasing it to look at her with a smirk. "I'm glad you made it."

"You call, I came."

"Like you had a choice." Katherine reminded her, and Lucy really didn't. She owed her sister for something, but Abigail wasn't sure what it was exactly Katherine did for her. Then again, she guessed it didn't matter.

Lucy rolled her eyes at her. "Don't get all boss lady on me." She said, going over to one of the bags on the bed. "You know I love you." She took a mask out of the bag she had been looking through and put it to her face. "Now, where does one wear this?" She asked curiously, pulling the mask away.

"To a masquerade ball. Tonight. You want to be my date?" Katherine smirked.

Abigail slumped into the bed, sighing. This was going to be a long night.

Hearing the doorbell ring and knowing who it was, Caroline went up to the front door and opened it, revealing Bonnie on the other side with Emily's grimoire in her arms. "Hey." The blonde greeted, gesturing her friend inside. "Come on in."

"I got Stefan's message." Bonnie said as she stepped inside, and Stefan went up to her.

"Hey, you brought the grimoire, thank you." He told her gratefully.

Bonnie nodded, then she noticed Damon and Alaric, and her eyebrows furrowed together at the sight of them standing over a table with tons of weapons. "What's going on?"

"We're gonna kill Katherine and her sisters." Jeremy explained, and she went wide eyed at that as she looked back at Stefan.

"I can explain."

"Please." Bonnie said, giving Stefan a look.

He paused for a moment. "We're gonna kill Katherine and her sisters." He finally said. There was honestly nothing more to explain.

Bonnie didn't know what to say as she followed Stefan to join Damon, Alaric, Caroline, and Jeremy at the table with weapons. Once everyone was gathered together, Alaric spoke up while he lifted a weapon up to show everyone.

"This works with compressed air." He started to explain. "The trigger mechanism is up here. I have two of these in different size. For you, I recommend this. It fits nicely under the sleeve jacket. You use the trigger when you're ready." He slipped the weapon on and punched the air with it, pretending to kill a vampire to show how it worked. Alaric noticed the looks Stefan and Damon shared and he shrugged. "You wanted me to show you how to kill a vampire."

Seeing the look on Bonnie's face, Stefan took her off to the side, away from everyone else. The witch was the first one to say something though.

"I know you love Megan, and you want to be with her, but it's risky…" Bonnie said, concern in her voice. "Too many people could get hurt."

"Look, I want Megan back, yes but it's more than that." Stefan informed her. "What Demetria did to Jenna was out of line, and Katherine and Abigail being here isn't helping. They have to be stopped before someone else gets hurt."

Bonnie was still hesitant; anything could go wrong if they weren't careful. "I don't know, Stefan…"

"The sisters especially Demetria knows me, right? They know I'm not going to cause a scene in a crowd of innocent people so that gives me an edge. I could catch them by surprise."

He did have a point there, and Bonnie sighed. "I could do a spell to trap them, like the tomb spell."

"Right." Stefan agreed. "We can isolate them, away from the others. Please Bonnie.".

"Okay." Bonnie said, still feeling a little hesitant about it.

While Elena said goodbye to Matt, Megan had headed up to Charlene's bedroom and immediately went over to the bed, tossing herself on it and grabbing the pillow up above before burying her face into it. Now being away from everyone, she could stop pretending that she was doing okay. It was hard acting like she wasn't still upset about the break up with Stefan. She knew it had been the right thing to do, but she regretted doing it now. She just wanted to be in his arms again.

Megan sighed into the pillow, hearing the bedroom door open. She didn't lift her head up to see who it was as she already knew it was probably Charlene.

"What are you doing?" Her best friend's voice sounded amused.

"Wallowing in my self-pity." Megan mumbled into the pillow, knowing she would hear her. She heard Charlene laugh, then she felt the bed dip as her best friend sat down beside her.

"Sounds fun." She said sarcastically.

"So much." Megan agreed, but her statement was sarcastic too. She sighed again, and sat up only to scoot next to her friend and rest her head on Charlene's shoulder. "I hate this so much. I really wish I could see Stefan. We were going to the masquerade party tonight and now we can't even do that…" From the corner of her eye, she saw Charlene looking down at her sympathetically.

"I know…but you didn't have to break up with him."

"Yes I did if I didn't who knows who else could get hurt. You could have been next."

"I understand why you did it. I just hate you doing it is making you miserable."

"I hate it too." Megan said quietly. "Maybe if Demetria and her sisters disappear soon, then we could be together…but until then it's best if me and Stefan aren't."

The group at the boarding house all gathered in the living room to talk before they started with the plan.

"Are you sure you guys don't want me there tonight?" Alaric asked, crossing his arms.

"No, I need you to stay with Megan, Charlene, and Elena." Stefan told him. "I don't want them to know about this."

Alaric nodded. "Okay, well, I'll make sure they don't leave my sight."

"Alright. If anybody wants to back out, I'll understand." Stefan said, looking at everyone in the room.

"Yeah." Damon said from his behind the love seat, glancing at everyone too. "Cold feet, speak now. I don't want this going wrong if someone chicken's out." He gave Caroline the side eyed. "Caroline."

"I won't." Caroline said confidently. "Look, Demetria killed me. Fair's fair. As long as there's no werewolf running around."

Damon smirked. "Oh, I took care of Mason."

"As long as Tyler doesn't kill anyone, he won't turn." Jeremy added.

Stefan turned to look at Bonnie. He needed her answer more than anyone else's. "Bonnie? Are you with us?"

There was a long pause, but eventually she finally responded with a nod, "But no one gets hurt."

"Except the Pierce sisters." Damon reminded with a smirk. "Tonight, they get a stake through their hearts."
