Outside on the basketball court, Tyler was playing with a couple of his other friends. He dodged one of them and jumped up with a speed he hadn't known he possessed, slam dunking the ball into the hoop. He landed on his feet as his friends looked at him, shocked.
"Dude, what the hell was that?!" One of them exclaimed. "Where did that come from? How'd you do that?"
Tyler didn't answer as he caught the basketball before noticing Caroline walking by the busses, smiling, and waving at the people she passed by. He stopped playing abruptly as he tossed the ball towards one of the guys, then he headed over to the blonde bombshell, ignoring his friends calling his name. Tyler stepped in front of Caroline, stopping her from getting any further.
"Hey." The blonde greeted. After staring at him for a minute, she frowned, seeing the look on his face. "Um…are you okay?"
Tyler cut to the chase. "You lied to be earlier. Why?"
Looking like she didn't know what to say for a moment, Caroline finally spoke. "Look Tyler…I think you misunderstood me at the party. I get it, it was very traumatizing."
"You're lying."
"Nope but I'm late." Caroline forced a smile, trying to walk past him.
However, he wasn't allowing that to happen as he cut in front of her again, grabbing onto her arm. He wasn't leaving until he got answers.
"Hey!" Before he could even do anything, Caroline had twisted his arm behind his back with a strength no girl her size should have and threw him roughly to the floor. Tyler then scrambled to his feet, wide eyed. "How did you…" He sputtered. "You're stronger than me?"
Caroline ran her fingers through her hair, brushing it back. "Please, that was nothing." She said offhandedly.
Now, Tyler looked at her with desperation. "Look, if you know something you've to tell me because I can't handle this."
The blonde felt horrible for not explaining what was happening to him, but the last thing she needed was for Damon to find out she was even talking to Tyler, so she gaslighted him again. "I'm sorry, Tyler, but I think you're still in shock about Sarah dying and it's understandable."
Tyler glared at her angrily at the words she sprouted out and stormed off, kicking a trash can in the process, sending it flying so hard the can knocked into a nearby car in the school parking lot and setting it off the alarm. It startled the kids around then, but he paid them no mind.
Caroline watched him walk off with a stressed look on her face.
Megan sat in the back seat of Damon's car, pouting to herself, disappointed she couldn't convince them to play car games with her while they drove to save Charlene and Elena from whoever had kidnapped on them. They could be such a bore sometimes. At least when she was in the same car with her friends, they humored her with playing them, but nope, not the Salvatore boys.
She sighed, leaning back in her seat. She was bored out of her mind. She never really liked long car rides, especially when she had nothing to do. Sighing again, Megan moved forward, draping her arms across the back of the driver and passenger seats.
"Are we close to getting there yet?" she questioned the boys.
"No, we still have a while." Stefan answered her.
Megan groaned. "Great…" she grumbled. "Can we please at least turn on some music? The silence is killing me."
Stefan opened his mouth to respond, but Damon spoke first.
"Nope. My car, my rules."
"Oh come on!" Megan threw her arms up in frustration as she fell back against her seat and crossed her limbs across her chest. "First, you won't let me play car games, and now you won't even let me listen to music!" She huffed. "This is such a boring road trip. At least the road trip to Georgia was more entertaining, even you almost killed by Lexi's boyfriend. I really should have just let him kill you."
"Aw, you know you'd miss me if you had." Damon teased, winking at her.
Megan made a face. "In your dreams, Salvatore." She rolled her eyes and looked away, spotting the bag of weapons in the backseat, courtesy of Alaric. It was a pretty large bag. "Alaric didn't go easy on the weapons, did he?" She questioned, digging in it, and pulling out a small bottle. Peering at it, there was some kind of liquid inside of the bottle.
Stefan took it from her, twirling it around his fingers.
"What the hell is that?" Damon asked, his eyes narrowing at it.
"I don't know, it's a vervain bomb or a grenade launcher or something like that."
"Weird."
"I've seen weirder." Megan commented, taking the bottle back from Stefan and stuffing it back in the bag so they wouldn't lose it. They definitely had enough weapons to get Charlene and Elena out from their kidnappers.
They sat in silence again, but it didn't last long.
"Hey, how much further is it?" Stefan broke the silence.
"80 miles."
Hearing that, Megan pouted again. This trip was too long for her taste. Instead of complaining about it this time, she sighed and looked out the window, even though there wasn't much to see. The road was deserted and didn't have many trees around either, so there was any car games to play anyway.
"Who do you think took them?"
"Someone from the Pierce sisters past. Katherine said they were running from someone. But they took the wrong girl."
Megan smiled to herself at that, hearing the worry in his voice. She smirked as she leaned forward so she could look at Damon.
"Soooo, what changed your mind about coming with us? Mm? Does it have to with feelings for a certain blonde vampire?"
Damon rolled his eyes, ignoring the question. "Can we not do the whole road trip bonding thing. The cliché of it all makes me itch."
"Oh, don't be dramatic. It's not a road trip without the bonding! Same with not doing car games, or listening to music! It's not a road trip without either of those three things. So, come on, just admit it…the reason you're here is because you're in love with my best friend." She poked him in the shoulder with a wide grin. "Admit it."
Annoyed, Damon pushed her hand away. "Stop it, Megan, I can step out of helping as easily as I stepped in."
"That's the thing Damon, you can't. Because you loooove heeeer. You wanna kissss her, you wannnna huuug her." Megan teased, quoting one of her favorite rom coms. She let out a giggle as Damon slapped a hand over his face in exasperation. Looking at Stefan, he was hiding an amused smile, making Megan grin over at him.
As fun as it was being kept in the dark about why they were here, Charlene wanted answers. She told Elena to go back downstairs to see if maybe talking one on one with the woman, she would answer her questions easier. Charlene found the woman easily and she would alone, making her wonder where Trevor had gone to, but didn't think much about it as it wasn't important.
"Okay, enough of being kept in the dark, why are we here?" The blonde demanded as she stepped into the room with the woman, her arms crossed over her chest.
"You keep asking me these questions like I'm going to answer them."
"And why not? There must be a reason why, besides being a stubborn bitch." Wrong thing to say probably if the woman's flared nostrils were any hint, but that was the only reaction she got out of her, thankfully.
"That's another one." Was the only thing the woman said. It was starting to get frustrating.
Charlene took a deep breath and let it out, not wanting her frustration to get the better of her. "Okay, look, there's no reason to keep anything to yourself anymore, it's not like we can even go anywhere, you guys made sure of it. We just want to know what you want from us."
The woman didn't say anything for a moment as she went over to a table and started flipping through a book there. "I personally want nothing." She admitted. Finally, they were getting somewhere. "I'm just a delivery service."
"You mean Elijah?" Charlene asked, remembering the woman mentioning that name.
The woman continued to look at the book, but she was probably rolling her eyes. "Two points to the eavesdropper."
"So who is he exactly? I'm guessing he's a vampire." Obviously.
"He's one of the vampires, the originals."
Charlene blinked, confused. "The who?"
"Again with the questions. Haven't the Salvatores been teaching you your vampire history?"
"Wait, you know Damon and Stefan? How?"
"I know of them." The woman corrected, not bothering to look at her as she responded. "A hundred year back a friend of mine tried to set me up with Stefan. I'm more of a sucker for a bad boys though, but I digress."
Charlene knew the feelings as she was the same way. She had a type, and she knew it. The blonde didn't bother mentioning that, too curious about who the originals were.
"Who are the originals exactly?" Charlene asked, relaxing her posture.
The woman didn't answer her question, instead she said, "Trevor and I have been running for 500 years." She finally turned around to look at Charlene. "We're tired, we want it over. We're using you and your sister to negotiate ourselves out of an old mess, and we were gonna use the other one too, but she wasn't with you like we thought she would be, and of course didn't expect one of you to be a vampire." She scowled a bit. "That wasn't part of the plan, but it could still work."
"Right, but why would you need us? How would that help you?" Charlene wondered out loud, eyebrows raised.
"Because you three are the Petrova doppelgangers. You're the key to breaking the curse, but now that we know there's only one doppelganger that's human, Elena's the key to breaking it."
"Are you talking about the sun and moon curse? That curse?" Charlene looked at the woman, startled.
"Oh, so you do know your history."
Charlene brushed that off. "Yeah, yeah." She said, "I don't get it…what do you mean Elena's the key to breaking the curse? I thought the moonstone was supposed to break it." She regretted asking immediately when the feeling of dread washed over her.
"No, the moonstone is what binds the curse. The sacrifice is what breaks it."
Charlene didn't even have to ask what the woman meant by that. She felt sick to her stomach. Her sister would have to die for the curse to be broken…
"Tell me more." Charlene managed to demand. "Please I need to know more."
Before she could say anything, Trevor returned and said in an almost teasing tone, "Captivity made her pushy, eh?" He walked across the room, glancing over at her. "What do you want to know doupelicious?"
Charlene ignored the nickname as she continued her questions, "She said that you guys have been running for 500 years. Who have you been running from anyway? Was it the originals?"
"Yes. Rose and I pissed them off." At least she knew the woman's name now. The brunette made a noise and he added, "Correction, I pissed them off. Rose had my back and for half a millennium, they wanted us dead."
Charlene crossed her arms over chest. "You must have done something really serious if someone to want you dead. What did you do exactly?"
"He made the same mistake countless others did: he trusted the Pierce sisters."
Charlene couldn't help but roll her eyes in disgust. "Of course." She muttered. "Why am I not surprised? It's always them, isn't it?"
"I helped them escape their fate and now I've, sorry, we've been on the run ever since."
Rose gave Trevor a look. "Which is why we're not making that mistake again."
Sighing, Charlene watched them leave the room, but she stayed there, trying to wrap her mind around what she had just been told. Not only were people trying to break the curse, but now Elena also had to die to make that happen.
That was going to happen over her dead body.
Knowing nothing could be done at the moment, Charlene returned to Elena. Her sister brightened up at the sight of her.
"Charlie!" she exclaimed her name in a hush, holding up her hand.
On closer inspection, she had a crumbled piece of paper in her hand. "What is it?" she asked curiously quickly going over to her sister and settling down on the couch next to her.
Elena handed her the note, and Charlene took it before reading it. Relief rushed over her at the words written.
Stefan, Damon, and Megan were on their way to save them.
Tired of being without anything to do, Megan went ahead and took a nap in the back seat. A light snore escaped her, causing Stefan to look back at her, smiling at the sight. Reaching back, he pulled a blanket over her body to keep her warm as it was pretty cold in the car, and he could see her shivering slightly.
Knowing his girlfriend as well as he did, Stefan knew she would end up falling asleep on the trip, so it was good thing he brought the blanket. He was glad to see her sleeping as he knew she had been too worried about Charlene to even think about taking a breather. Stefan brushed her hair out her face before facing forward again as his phone pinged in his pocket. It was a text from Jeremy.
"We're getting close." Stefan told Damon, looking down at his phone. "Jeremy said there's an access road just past mile marker 6."
His brother nodded, reaching back to pull out a blood bag from the back seat. Stefan watched him as he started drinking from it and looked over at his brother casually, noticing Stefan watching him.
"If you want some, just ask."
"I want some." Stefan said.
"Aw, that's so sweet." Damon smirked, pulling the blood bag away from his mouth. "You're gonna be all big and strong and save your girl's best friend and her sister, but don't worry I've got your back."
"I'm being serious." Stefan told him, and his tone was serious, so Damon couldn't help but take him seriously now. "I've been drinking a little every day. I'm slowly increasing my intake and building up my strength."
After staring at him for a moment, Damon handed the blood bag over to his brother and he took a sip of it before pulling the bag away from his mouth. "Does Megan know you're drinking blood?" He nodded to the sleeping girl in the back.
"I've been drinking hers."
Damon looked speechless, but it didn't last that long as he returned his gaze back to the road. "Mmm, how romantic…" He took the blood bag back from Stefan, taking a drink. "Since we're continuing with the road trip bonding that Megan insists we do, remember the days when all you lived for was blood? You were the guy who ripped someone apart for the fun of it."
"You mean when I was more like you?"
"Yes, Stefan, exactly. Back when you put blood into me so I could be the big bad vampire. I wonder if Megan would be so quick to open her veins to that guy. By the way, what happened to that guy? He was a hoot." Damon glanced at Stefan from the corner of his eye, seeing the serious look on his brother's face.
"I guess he found something to live for." He said, looking back at Megan with a soft smile. There seemed to be a smile playing on her lips as if she had heard what he said. He hoped she did because he meant it completely.
Trevor came bursting into the room where Charlene, Elena, and Rose were at, looking frantic and afraid.
Charlene froze a bit, just knowing that this Elijah person was here. It was all but confirmed by the words that came out of Trevor's mouth.
"He's here!" he exclaimed, pacing the floor. "This was a mistake!"
Rose went over to his pacing form. "No, I told you I would get us out of this." She tried to assure him. "You have to trust me."
"No! He wants me dead, Rose!"
"He wants her more." Those words made Charlene wrap a protective arm around Elena's shoulders, bringing her close to her. Well, he was going to be severely disappointed. There was no way in hell she was going to let this Elijah take her sister away.
"I can't do this! You give her to him; he'll have mercy on you, but I need to get out of here!"
Rose quickly grabbed his shoulders before he could make a run for it. "Hey!" she said to him sternly but softly, getting Trevor to look at her. "What are we?"
Trevor let out a shaky breath as he gave a weak smile. "We're family, forever."
Rose actually smiled. They seemed to love each other very much, but despite acting calm, she looked just as scared as Trevor. Just then, there was a loud knock on the door and they both shared frightened looks, which Elena commented on.
"You're scared." She said softly.
Rose didn't seem to hear her as she told Trevor, "Stay here with them and don't make a sound." With that, she took off.
Now, they had to wait.
Charlene didn't have any clue of what this Elijah would be like, or even look like. So when he entered the room with Rose, she couldn't help but feel taken a back. He was handsome to say the least and he was dressed in a suit, looking very regal. It was enough to forget for a moment why he was here in the first place. At least until Charlene felt Elena move behind her and she felt her body shake in fright. She glanced back at her, then when she moved her gaze forward, she jumped at the sight of Elijah right in her face. He looked to be in awe at the sight of her. It didn't make her uncomfortable, but it was strange, the way he was looking at her.
Charlene flinched though when he moved forward and sniffed her, taking in her seat. He moved back, meeting her gaze again.
"You're a vampire." Elijah said, and Charlene forced herself not to roll her eyes at the obvious statement. He looked over her shoulder at Elena, who gulped, and he smelt her too from a distance. "Human. This is impossible." He stepped back, giving a smile to each of them. "Hello there."
Megan didn't know how long she had been asleep for. She hadn't been planning on passing out the way she did. She must have been more tired than she thought she was. Megan finally woke up only to find Stefan and Damon weren't in the car.
She sat upright in the car in an instant as she realized this. Those jerks left her here! Oh, she was going to kill them... for real this time!
Growling under her breath, Megan got out of the car and took running. Hopefully she caught up them before they got to the house!
We have a long journey ahead of us." Elijah said after a while, glancing between her and Elena. "We should be going."
Charlene glared at him. "No way in hell!" She felt Elena grip the back of her shirt. "We're not going anywhere with you."
"You don't have a choice." Elijah informed her.
Her hands curled into a fists as Elena looked over at Rose desperately. "Please, don't let him take us." She pleaded.
Rose said nothing, turning her head away.
Charlene moved her head so she could whisper to her sister. "He's not taking us anywhere. I'm not going to let that happen." She gave her sister what she hoped was a reassuring smile when she pulled back before bringing Elena to her side so she could grab her hand, her fingers curling into her sister's.
"One last piece of business and we're done." Elijah headed over to Trevor.
"I've waited so long for this, Elijah." He said, trying not to look nervous. "I'm truly, very sorry."
Elijah circled around him slowly, arms behind his back. "Oh no, your apology is not necessary."
Trevor swallowed hard. "You trusted me with the sisters, and I failed you."
"Oh yes, you are the guilty one." Elijah said thoughtfully. "And Rose aided you because she was loyal to you and that now I honor. Where was your loyalty?"
"I beg for your forgiveness."
Elijah stopped in front of him. "So granted."
Trevor was about to smile, but then in a shocking move, Elijah smacked his head off his body. Rose cried out immediately and Elena gasped in shock. Charlene had to look away from this happening because of the blood and when she looked back, she found herself staring at Elijah. For someone so handsome, he was ruthless. No wonder Rose and Trevor were terrified of him.
"You…!" Rose growled in between tears, looking about ready to return the favor and chop Elijah's own head off.
"Don't, Rose." Elijah warned. "Now, that you're free." Rose restrained herself as he turned back to look at Charlene and Elena. "Come."
Charlene gave a harsh laugh, surprising Elijah. "Yeah, right! Like I said, there's no way in hell we're going with you anywhere. I don't care about the deal you made with Rose. It's not happening!"
"And I told you that you don't have a choice." Elijah said, about to grab her arm, but Elena stopped him before he could, and stood in front of Charlene.
"Elena…" She stared at her sister, wondering what she was doing.
"Wait! What about the moonstone?"
Elijah blinked at her, taken aback. "What do you know about the moonstone?"
"We know enough." Charlene informed him. "We know that you can't break the curse of the sun and moon without it, and we know exactly where you can find it."
"Yes?"
Elena looked back at Charlene, and she nodded. "We can help you get it." She told Elijah.
"Tell me where it is."
Charlene rolled her eyes, scoffing at him. "Hate to break it to you, Eli, but we're not just going to tell you where it is. Not without a deal of course." She said stubbornly, crossing her arms over her chest.
Elijah frowned, looking a bit irritated. Good. "Are you negotiating with me?"
"Sure, if that's what you wanna call it." Charlene responded, shrugging. His frown deepened, looking back over at Rose.
"It's the first I've heard of it." She said quietly.
He turned back around and tried to compel Elena. When it didn't work, he noticed the vervain bracelet around her wrist.
"What is this vervain doing around your neck?" Elijah reached a hand out to swipe the bracelet off Elena.
Before he could even touch her, Charlene used her vampire speed to shove Elena back behind her and she caught the hand that was gonna grab her sister. "Don't you dare touch her!" she growled; her face unable to help but to change in her irritation. "I'll tell you what you want. Just leave her alone. I'll go with you, but Elena stays here."
"Charlene, don't!" She knew her sister was looking at her horrified by the suggestion.
Charlene ignored her, meeting Elijah's gaze as her face returned to normal. "I might not be the doppelganger you need, but I'm not letting you take my sister with you. That's the deal. I'll give you what you want but she's free to leave." She made sure to look right at Elijah to show how serious she was and that she wasn't going to take no for an answer and to see she wasn't afraid of him.
Elijah looked reluctant, but agreed, "Alright…" He said nothing for a moment. "Now, tell me where the moonstone is."
"It's in the tomb, underneath the church where the Pierce sisters were supposed to be." Charlene answered. "It's down there with them."
"Interesting…"
Out of nowhere, the sound of glass breaking from upstairs sounded around the house, startling Rose, Elijah, and Elena, but not Charlene as she knew that it was Stefan, Damon, and Megan coming to save them. She was never really planning on going with Elijah in the first place. She had felt the presence of all three of them, especially Megan because of her best friend's blood. She just needed to distract Elijah long enough so they could get in, even if it was to give him information that he didn't really need to know about.
"What is that?" Elijah demanded, on edge as he snapped his head towards Rose.
"I don't know."
"Who else is in this house!"
"I don't know!"
Instead of asking again, Elijah grabbed onto Charlene and Elena, dragging them into another part of the house.
Charlene immediately tore her arm away from his grip as blurry versions of Stefan and Damon moved around them with their super speed. She took this distraction, grabbing Elena and whooshing her up the stairs to hide her there to keep her out of harms way so she could help Damon and Stefan. Charlene returned to the top of the stairs where Elijah spotted her, and she waved her arms back and forth.
"Hey Eli, up here!" she shouted. He went to charge at her, but he barely moved when a stake came flying at him and went through his hand. "Ouch! That must have hurt!" She mocked.
Elijah growled as he ripped the stake out of his hand and went to go at her again. However, Charlene blurred around before he could, returning back with Elena as she put a finger over her mouth, signally her sister to be quiet. They stayed still together, hearing Elijah downstairs.
"Excuse me! To whom it may concern, you're making a great mistake if you think that you can beat me. You can't." Smug much? "Do you hear that?" There was the sound of something breaking. "I repeat, you cannot defeat me. So, I want the girls, I'm gonna count to three or heads will roll. Do we understand each other?"
During Elijah's speech, Stefan found them and handed Elena a vervain bomb.
Elena left them and appeared at the top of the stairs. Charlene stayed with Stefan, but stayed on edge, just in case Elena needed her help. In the back of her mind though, she wondered where Megan was at.
Getting closer to the house, Megan could hear the fighting going on inside of it and she cursed herself. Dang it! She was missing all of the action.
She picked up the pace and burst through the doors just as Stefan had tackled a man as they fell down the stairs. He must have been the one who kidnapped Charlene and Elena. The man stood up immediately, but her boyfriend stayed on the ground, and he headed towards him.
"Don't even think about it!" Megan yelled, getting the man's attention. He blinked at the suddenness appearance. She glared at him and seeing he was caught off guard, she used her powers to slam him against the walls. She focused herself and managed to keep him against the wall, giving Damon enough time to stab the man right in the heart. He greyed immediately, signally he was dead.
Damon looked at her, and Megan grinned boastfully. "Bet you wished you hadn't left me behind now!"
A woman with short brown hair noticed the man with the stake in his chest for just a moment before taking off. Damon went to go after her, but the sound of Charlene's voice stopped him.
"Just let her go. She's not worth it."
Megan turned her head at the sound of her friend's voice. "Charlene!" She cried out, seeing her on the top of the stairs. "You're okay!"
"I'm always okay!" Charlene winked at her before turning her gaze to Damon. A smile graced her smile and he smiled back. Without a second to spare, the blonde raced downstairs towards him. Once there, she threw herself into his arms and he pulled her close immediately.
Megan bit back a squeal at how cute this scene was as her best friend practically buried her face into Damon's chest. After staring at them for a moment, she went to help Stefan up to his feet before she pulled Elena into a hug as Charlene's younger sister came rushing towards her.
After somewhat explaining to Tyler about who she was, Caroline made him sit on the couch so she could go get some alcohol for them. She came back into the living room with a bottle of vodka and two glasses before she poured them some.
"You know this sounds crazy…" Caroline said as she started pouring the vodka into the glasses. "But alcohol helps or at least it helps me." She handed him a glass and kept the other one to herself, giving Tyler a soft smile. "You know with the inside jittery stuff."
"I'm hot. It's like my skin is on fire."
"Really?" That was interesting. "I don't have any of that. I guess wolves are different." She giggled a bit as she nursed her drink. "At the beginning I was very, very emotional. Everything was heightened."
Tyler nodded. "I have that." He looked at her in contemplation. "How can you be a vampire?"
"How can you be a werewolf?" Caroline countered.
"Who else is like you?"
Caroline tried to keep eye contact with Tyler. "Just me." She admitted with a sheepish smile. "It's a long story we can share another time. How many werewolves are there?"
"Just me and my Uncle Mason but he left town."
The blonde pulled a serious look, one Tyler hadn't seen on her face before. "Look Tyler, you… you can't tell anyone, okay?" she told him. "Not about you, not about me. No one will understand."
"I know."
"I want to tell you about my mom and yours and the founding families and the council, but I need you to promise no one will find out about us. This is life and death, Tyler."
"I have no one else to tell." He sighed. "I'm sorry about earlier. It's just, I'm alone in this. It's gonna happen to me. On the next full moon, I'm going to turn, and I won't be able to stop it. I'm scared." His eyes welled up with actual tears, obviously very emotional about the thought.
Caroline's heart broke for him, seeing the look on his face. "Tyler…no…I…" She tried to find something to say to help him feel better, but she couldn't come up with anything, so she did the next best thing and embraced him, letting him cry on her shoulder.
Back the Salvatore boarding house, Stefan was in the living room and heard a noise. With his enhanced vision, he saw the blurry figure of a vampire speeding around the room. Quickly he found a nearby stake up and held it up defensively.
"Who's there?" Stefan demanded.
Slowly, Rose came out of the shadows, hands up in surrender. "I'm not here to hurt you." She promised.
"Why are you here?" Stefan still stayed on the defensive.
"Lexi once told me you were one of the good ones."
Hearing his best friend's name get mentioned, Stefan lowered the stake and blinked at her. "You knew Lexi."
She briefly nodded, then went on to say, "Trevor was my best friend. For 500 years, I have lived with one person, and he's gone, and I don't want to run anymore because I don't have anywhere else to run to."
"Well, I'm sorry, but I can't help you." Stefan forced himself not to scoff at the idea. After she kidnapped Charlene and Elena, yeah there was no way he was going to help her.
"I don't need your help." Rose told him. "But I think you'll need mine. Elijah may be dead, but this isn't over."
Stefan eyed her confused. "What do you mean, 'it's not over?'"
"It isn't over. The originals. They will come for Elena since she's the one needed to break the curse. She's the only human doppelganger. They will come for her because they're doing it for him."
"For who?"
"Klaus."
After making sure her sister and Jeremy were settled in their beds, and Megan in the guest room, Charlene headed back to her bedroom to grab some pajamas before going into the bathroom to change into them. To be honest, they weren't a full set of pajamas, just a simple tank top and some soft shorts.
She got them on and headed back into her bedroom to finally go to bed. It had been such a long day and all she wanted was to crawl into bed and not more until in the morning, but someone had other plans. She didn't notice someone sitting on her bay window seat until they said something.
"Nice pj's."
Charlene nearly jumped out her skin at the sound of Damon's voice. She turned around to face him with a scowl.
"Geez, don't do that." Charlene said, "You scared the shit out of me."
He chuckled at her reaction. "Sorry about that." He didn't say anything else, just continued to stare at her, taking her in as if he wasn't going to see her again.
Charlene's face couldn't help but warm at his gaze. "So, um…" She cleared her throat awkwardly. "What are you doing here? You aren't drunk, are you?" At her question, she eyed him wearily, hoping he wasn't cause the last time he was, he killed Jeremy.
"No." He simply said, and said nothing else again.
"Right…" Charlene scratched the back of her head, confused. "Well, if uh, that's it…I'm gonna go to bed…" She was about to head over to her bed, but she didn't have time to move as Damon was suddenly in front of her. He was so close to her his body was practically pressed against hers.
She shivered at the feeling as she glanced up at his face. His blue eyes met her baby blue ones. She couldn't help but shiver again at the look that was in them. Charlene had no idea what was going to happen, but she didn't expect him to lean in and kiss her. She gasped into the kiss, giving him the chance to slide his tongue into her mouth.
Once the shock of what was happening wore off, Charlene returned the kiss just as passionately and let her own tongue tangle with his, making Damon groan and pull her even closer to his body if that was even possible. They were already so close. Her hands slid up his neck and her fingers played with his hair she moaned at the feelings Damon was bringing to her body.
This made him smirk as his own hands heatedly explored her back for a moment before they gripped her hips and started to lift her up. Knowing what he wanted, Charlene jumped up, allowing her legs to hook around him. Her hips brushed against his, feeling the erection forming in his pants. It wasn't the first time she felt him, but this time around, it felt even more intimate and exciting. Experimentally, she rolled her hips against him, causing Damon to growl and bite down on her bottom lip roughly. It was hard enough to draw blood, but neither of them seemed to care as they were way too focused on their kissing.
Though both of them didn't really need to take a breather, Charlene still pulled away from the kiss and rested her forehead against Damon's. Her eyes slid closed briefly before opening back up and meeting his dark gaze.
"Wow…that was…" Charlene had no words to describe their kiss. It was even better than the last ones they shared.
"I know." Damon agreed with a soft smile, brushing her hair back before cupping her face with his hands. Charlene couldn't help but let out a girlish giggle, unable to believe this was happening right now. His smile widened at the sound before it fell as he regarded her with a serious look on his face. "After everything that happened today, I realized you could have been taken away from me if Stefan and I didn't come on time. If that had happened, I would have regretted it every single day that I didn't tell you…"
Her heart skipped a beat. "Tell me what…" she whispered. Was he going to say what she thought he was going to say?
"That I love you. I love you, Charlie."
Charlene never thought she would ever hear the words come out of his mouth, but she was so happy he did if the bright grin on her face was any hint. "I love you too, Damon."
She didn't let him say anything as she slammed her lips back to his. The kiss quickly became as passionate as the last one did. Their tongues fought for dominance as she felt Damon move her over to her bed. He practically threw her on top of the mattress before using his vampire speed to climb on top of her body. He smirked at the look on her face before slamming his lips back against hers.
Charlene groaned at the roughness of it as her hands buried themselves into Damon's midnight lock and her fingers gripped them. He groaned in response and bucked his hips against hers before his own fingers went down to the end of her tank top and started to tug the fabric up. It gave her pause for a second. Was she really ready for this? There was no going back if she let this continue. She didn't have to think about it for long. She loved Damon, and she wanted to make love with him. That in mind, she flipped him over with her strength, startling him. This made Charlene smirk as she straddled his hips before she took off the tank top. She didn't have a bra on, so her nipples immediately hardened in the cool air.
Charlene didn't have to look at Damon to know his eyes had darkened at the sight of her. Smirking again, she knew she didn't want to be the other one without a shirt on. Feeling confident, she ripped his black shirt open, buttons flying everywhere.
Damon groaned when she did this and let out an even louder one as Charlene explored his bare chest with her fingers. It felt good to feel his warm skin on hers.
Tired of things going slow, Damon flipped them back over and quickly tore down her pajamas shorts before ripping her panties in half. Charlene gasped.
"Day!"
Damon just laughed at her. "You rip my shirt; I rip your panties…" He purred into her ear before tugging her earlobe in his mouth and sucking on it gently.
Charlene just groaned in response as her hands raked up Damon's taut back, letting her fingernails dig roughly into his skin. If he had been human, it definitely would have hurt, but it caused him pleasure instead.
"Charlie…" He groaned, bucking his hips against hers.
She smirked at the sound of her nickname coming from his lips and she bucked her hips back, feeling his hard erection pressing against her thigh. "Did you like that, Day?" she purred.
"I loved it." He growled into her ear.
Then he trailed his hot lips on her neck, causing her to tilt her head back to give him more access to her. His mouth sucked on her skin roughly, definitely leaving marks. For someone who hadn't had sex before, Charlene felt like she was doing a pretty good job at the foreplay. She hoped she felt that way when it was time for the actual sex part.
Charlene reached down to rip off his boxers, like he did to her panties, before she tossed them to the side. She shivered as she felt his bare cock against her now. He was rock hard now and pulsing. Her hands reached down, and her fingers wrapped around him.
The suddenness of it made Damon bit her neck, but his face wasn't changed so he didn't break skin. "Charlene!"
Smirking, she began moving her hand, and even used her super speed to make it go even faster. He grunted as he moved his hips with the movements of her hand as best as he could with how fast she was going. He stopped her though after a couple minutes, pulling her hand away from him.
"If you keep doing that, baby, I'm not going to last for the best part." Damon managed to explain why he had stopped her, so she didn't think he was doing it because he didn't like what she was doing to him. He smirked at her, and she nodded with a blush before he pulled down her for another kiss. This one was softer than the previous ones but still just as passionate.
After a couple more minutes of kissing, Charlene decided she was ready for the next step. "I'm ready." She informed him softly.
He nodded at her before he used his knee to spread her legs apart, then he aligned himself with her entrance. "Tell me if it hurts and I'll stop." He told her gently. Charlene nodded, and he pulled her hips down against him, entering her slowly.
She groaned loudly as his cock stretched her out slowly. She snapped her hips up and he entered her further. Charlene whimpered in pleasure. Surprisingly it wasn't hurting like she thought she would be. Before she knew it, he was slamming into her repeatedly and fast.
Charlene returned the fast pace with her own, and their groans and moans blurred together as they made love for the first.
"Damon…ohh…" she moaned wantonly, moving her hips even faster now as she flipped them over and put her hands against his bare chest to start riding him roughly.
Damon grunted at the feeling as he looked up at her. She barely noticed as her head was titled back, getting lost in the pleasure Damon was giving to her. Eventually she was getting tired, and he noticed, so he flipped them back over to she was on the bottom again. He grabbed her legs and hooked them over his hips as their pace grew even faster if that was possible.
The pleasure was building and building, and Charlene knew she was going to release at any moment, but before that happened, she wanted him to do something. "Bite me, Damon." She breathed.
He stopped and looked down at her, surprised. "You sure?"
Charlene nodded immediately. "I'm sure. I want you to bite me." Seeing she was serious, he nodded and picked up the pace again until she felt the feeling again. "Now!" She moaned.
At the okay, Damon's face changed, and he growled as his fangs sliced through Charlene's skin. He groaned at the taste of her blood in his mouth. As soon as he did this, she felt her release come and she screamed. The pleasure was so intense, and she knew it was probably because he was feeding from her as she came. After she finished, she pulled his head back roughly and slammed her mouth against his, sliding her tongue into his mouth to taste the blood.
Charlene groaned at the taste, and she could feel her own face changing. She felt the instinctual urge to do the same thing to Damon. She had always wondered what his blood would taste like when she was a vampire. Growling, Charlene flipped them over and she pulled back, revealing her change face as Damon continued to move again, still not finding his release yet.
"I want to bite you." Charlene hissed, her tongue flicking against her fangs.
Damon smirked at her. "Go for it."
She didn't hesitate and bit into his neck. Immediately, she groaned in delight as Damon's blood filled her mouth. He tasted amazing to say the least! As soon as her fangs sliced through his skin, Damon cried out her name as he finally came inside of her. Charlene continued to drink from him until he was finished, and she finally pulled back from his neck, her face going back to normal with Damon's blood all over her mouth.
Groaning, he pulled her down for a kiss as his tongue quickly licked her mouth clean. "Mm…" he hummed in delight, pulling back, and smirking at her.
Charlene found herself smirking back before her face softened, looking into his eyes. "I love you."
"I love you too." He responded back easily. She kissed him again before lifting herself off of him and maneuvered herself on her bed, going under the covers.
Damon joined her under them and pulled her to his naked body. Smiling, Charlene snuggled back against him, closing her eyes. Exhaustion finally hit her and she fell asleep with Damon still holding onto her.
