Next episode! Yay! And now we're officially only four more episode away until Klaus, the real Klaus. actually makes an appearance and only seven episodes away from the S2 finale, so that's exciting! Anyway, that's all I have to say. Hope you enjoy the first part of the Dinner Party episode! :)
Needing to know something for what he was planning tonight, Damon went down to the tomb to talk to the sources of the answers to his questions.
He pushed the stone blocking the entrance out of the way, and he looked at the remaining sisters inside, both of them fully desiccated. He was still pretty upset that Stefan allowed Elijah to free Abigail, but it was too late to do anything about that now. At least he wouldn't have to see her again.
Pulling out two bottles of blood from the bag he brought with him, Damon waved them under Demi and Katherine's noses before pouring some of the blood in their mouths to get them started. It worked, and they began drinking from the bottles. Slowly, they regained color as Damon said,
"Great. Drink up. Good girls."
Finally able to move their hands and arms, Demi and Katherine took the bottles from Damon's hands and continued to drink from them.
Damon stood up to his feet. "I've come bearing gifts." He told them. "I didn't have time to properly shop, but I did get a couple of things." He hung up some clothes on the iron grating for Demi and Katherine.
Demi finished up the blood and crushed the bottle in her hand as her sister did the same. They finally looked normal, which Damon, of course, couldn't help but comment on.
"Wow, that blood did the trick. You two look almost pretty again."
Demi rolled her eyes, unamused. "You sure know how to make a girl feel special." She said sarcastically. She stood up on shaky feet, using the stone wall to help. Once she got her balance, she went over to the clothes Damon put up for her.
Katherine stayed where she was, looking at Damon with irritation written over her face. "What is it you want, Damon?"
"Guess who's back in town? Your old friend, John Gilbert."
"How exciting." Demi commented, a sarcastic bite to her tone and a bored look on her face as she slipped out of the dirty clothes and put on the pretty blue dress Damon had picked out for her. Surprisingly, he had good taste.
Katherine looked bored as well as she asked, "Why?"
"Says he loves his daughter and nieces, wants to protect them from Elijah and big, bad Klaus."
"How touching." Katherine's tone was sarcastic too as she finally pushed herself off of the ground.
"Yeah, right. He told me this old wives tale about how to kill an Original."
"And let me guess, you're here to ask us if it is true or not." Demetria figured, grabbing the jacket that would go with this dress as Katherine grabbed her new clothes. "If it was, tell me why would we even tell you. Better yet, how would that benefit us?"
"Why wouldn't you?" Damon countered back. "I mean, you guys want Elijah and Klaus dead as much as I do."
"Klaus, yes." Katherine agreed.
"But Elijah…no way." Demetria shook her head. "He compelled us to stay in here. We didn't get lucky like Abigail did." She held back a smirk at the flinch Damon gave at the mention of her sister. "Anyway, even if you could kill Elijah, if he did, we're stuck in here forever."
"Sucks for you guys." Damon said, but not sounding sorry in the least.
Katherine didn't bother even looking at him. "Forget it, Damon." She told him. "Killing Elijah would be a suicide mission. You can't do it."
"Can so." Damon said, a knowing look on his face. One Demetria didn't like immediately, and she frowned.
"Can't." Katherine argued.
"Even with a dagger and a little white oak ask?"
Fear crossed Demetria's face as Katherine's head snapped over to look at Damon with the same fearful look her sister had.
"What? No! You can't do that!" Demetria cried out.
Katherine let out a nervous chuckle, not crying out like her sister did. "No, Damon, if you kill Elijah, then we're stuck here forever."
Damon had seen these two afraid before, but all those other times didn't look as real as this one did. It made him smirk.
"You're really scared." Damon had to point it out.
"Just get us out of here first, and then we'll help you." Katherine pleaded. "We'll…we'll help you kill Elijah or…or protect the girls. Whatever you want."
"Yes, yes, whatever you want." Demetria quickly agreed with a pleading look on her face. "So please, don't try anything!"
Damon scoffed at them both. "I get you guys out of here and your asses will be sipping Klaus-free margaritas on some unknown island." He scoffed again. "No way."
"That's not true. We'll stay." Katherine told him desperately with Demetria nodding frantically in agreement. "Damon, please just don't do it."
"Well, thank you, you've told me everything I need to know."
"We haven't told you anything." Demetria couldn't help but spat out, knowing their begging wasn't being any use.
"You have." Damon disagreed. "You have indeed confirmed that it is possible to kill an Original, which I will do tonight." He smirked widely at the two sisters. "Guess whose coming for dinner." With one last smirk, he turned on his heel and walked away, making him miss the smug looks on Katherine and Demetria flashed at one another.
Megan stood in front of the back door, looking out the window at the lake. She spotted Stefan's reflection and turned around before leaning against the door as her boyfriend walked up to her, holding out a cup of hot tea. Megan managed to give him a small smile as she took the drink from him and took a sip.
As she did so, Stefan spoke up, his tone soft as he continued to tell his story, "For weeks I kept spiraling. I was completely driven by the desire for blood." He said seriously. "Hunt, prey, kill. That was all I knew."
"How did no one know what you were doing?" Megan asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Mmm. There was a war going on. The thing about wartime. Endless, anonymous blood supply…"
Megan listened intently as Stefan explained how he feed on this one person and that someone had been watching him and how she had been a vampire.
"Alexia Branson, as she was known back then." Stefan finished.
"Lexi." Megan breathed out with a fond smile. "So, that's how you met her?" She had always wondered how the two met and now she knew. Too bad it hadn't been under different circumstances. "What was she in Mystic Falls for anyways?" She wondered curiously, eyebrows furrowed.
"She had heard it was a good place for vampires." Stefan answered. "You know, had no idea they had massacred. Needed a place to crash, so I brought her home with me."
Megan watched Stefan's face closely as it suddenly turned sad, the sadness especially showed in his eyes. Her heart swelled at the sight.
"Are you alright?" Megan asked gently.
Stefan gave a weak smile. "Talking about her brings up things that I'd rather forget."
Like her dying. Megan thought but she didn't say it out loud as she reached out and touched his arm, squeezing it with a sad look on her face. She didn't like thinking about that either.
Despite still being mad at her, Stefan reached over and placed his hand on top of hers.
Charlene had such a bad feeling about this dinner party and had no clue why she felt that way. She knew Damon wouldn't have set this party up if he didn't have a plan cooking. She wished she knew what the plan was, but then again, did she really want to know?
She drove up to the boarding house, dressed in a dress that was fitting for a dinner party. It was blue and flowy and looked really good on her if she had to say so herself. It brought her big blue eyes perfectly.
Charlene stepped out of her car, nearly getting hit by a car pulling up. She jumped back before that happened.
"What the hell?" Charlene snapped as the car came to a stop. The person that came out had her scowling in annoyance. "Uncle John."
"Sorry Charlene, didn't see you there." He apologized with a smile. She didn't return it.
"What are you doing here? I know for sure you weren't invited to this dinner party." Charlene said as she crossed her arms.
"Well, I didn't want to miss out on the fun and games." John told her, still giving her a smile.
Charlene rolled her eyes. "Sorry to disappoint, but it's just going to be a boring dinner party."
"I highly doubt that." John said. After a moment, he held out his arm towards her. "Shall we? Don't want to be late after all."
Charlene stared at his arm distastefully before she shook her head and sighed as she slid her arm in his, allowing him to guide her to the front door. Once there, John rang the doorbell and a few minutes later, Jenna opened the door. Charlene immediately released John's arm and stepped inside as her aunt scowled at her uncle.
"Who invited him?" Jenna questioned in disbelief as she looked at Charlene, who held her hands up.
"It wasn't me, he just showed up at the same time as me, and besides, I don't like him as much as you do." The blonde told her aunt.
"Thanks." John said sarcastically. In response, Charlene just rolled her eyes at him as Damon showed up and took his place next to his girlfriend, disregarding the look John gave him as he put his arm around Charlene.
"John. Surprise. Leave." Damon snapped.
"When Jenna told me she was coming to a dinner party for Elijah, I decided I couldn't miss out on all the fun and games." John informed, using what he had told Charlene outside.
Alaric made an appearance, joining them at the front door. Damon and John looked over at him.
"There are not going to be any games tonight, John." Alaric said, "It's just a friendly dinner party."
"See, just like I told you." Charlene spoke up as John looked over at her, but she was glancing over at Damon, giving him a pointed look. "Right Day?"
Damon nodded. "What he said."
Jenna looked between the four of them, confused. Then she shook her head.
"Right…" she muttered. She grabbed Charlene's hand and tugged. "Come on, Charlie, you can come help me with getting the table set up."
"Alright." Charlene nodded, but before she allowed Jenna to dug her away, she kissed Damon on the cheek. "Be nice." She said, nodding towards John. He just gave her a smirk in response, and she sighed as Jenna tugged her away from the three men. The dinner party hadn't even started yet and there was already drama.
Charlene was in the middle of helping put the plates on the table when she heard the doorbell ring, so she stopped what she was doing and went to go answer it. Pulling open the door, her body stiffened at the sight of Elijah on the other, looking extremely dapper in the suit he was wearing. Not that she noticed or anything.
"Um hi…" Charlene greeted, trying and failing not to sound nervous.
"Hello." He greeted back with a smile. "Lovely to see you, Miss Charlene."
"Uh same…" Charlene said awkwardly, not knowing how to act around him. This was the man who was going to sacrifice them.
They stood there as an awkward silence filled the air, but thankfully, Damon showed up, making the blonde relax as Charlene stepped back so she was standing beside him. Though she was already relaxed, it helped even more when he took a hold of her hand as he gave Elijah a smile that was as inviting as it could be.
"Thank you for coming." He said hospitality. "Come on in."
Elijah took a step forward but stopped. "Just one moment…" he started off, a hostile look crossing over his face. "Can I just say that if you have less than honorable intentions about how this evening is going to proceed, I suggest you reconsider."
Damon kept that inviting smile on his face as he tried to sound reassuring, "No, nothing dishonorable. Just getting you know you."
Elijah glanced over at Charlene, who shifted on her feet awkwardly. Then she cleared her throat.
"He's telling the truth." The blonde informed him. "Nothing to worry about." She changed the subject. "Uh, so, you said you were bringing a plus one?" She asked, remembering what Elijah had said during lunch.
"Oh yes." He turned his head and called out, "It's okay to come out now."
Charlene's mouth dropped at the sight of Abigail wearing a brown wig appearing at the door while Damon just looked angry.
"What are you doing here?" he snarled, taking a step forward. Charlene tried to grab his arm to stop him going any further and succeeded, causing her boyfriend to look over at her, startled that she stopped him. It wasn't to protect Abigail because the blonde didn't like she was here either, but to keep Damon from doing something he would regret.
Elijah put an arm in front of Abigail protectively. "I would tread lightly, Damon." The Original said coldly. "Although Megan and I have this deal, if you so much make a move to cross me or do something to harm Abigail, I'll kill you and everyone in this house. Are we clear?"
Damon clenched his jaw angrily, and he nodded curtly. "Crystal."
With that, Elijah allowed Abigail to take his arm and stepped inside the house and spotted Jenna as she came to see who was at the door. He smiled at her as he walked over to her, Abigail making sure to keep her face hidden so Jenna wouldn't notice the similarities between her and Charlene.
It surprised Charlene her doppelganger was making the effort. She shared a look with Damon. Her boyfriend sighed and closed the front door.
In the middle of dinner, Charlene left the dinner table to go to the bathroom and she could feel someone following her.
She stopped. "What do you want?" she asked, knowing it was Abigail. To confirm, she turned around and sure enough the wig wearing Abigail was right behind her.
"I…I just wanted to talk." Abigail said.
"Okay…" Charlene spoke slowly. "So talk."
"I just wanted to apologize for what my sisters did to John…and for pretending to be you with Damon on the night we came back."
Charlene flinched at the reminder that she honestly didn't need or want. She said nothing as Abigail continued.
"I was just mad and jealous that Damon had fallen for someone else that…wasn't me. I know I had no right to feel that way as it was my fault for letting my sisters ruin what I had with him. They have a way of being very manipulative."
"That's what Damon said about you." Charlene pointed out, and Abigail looked down at her feet. "I don't know if what you said is true or not but…you did help us by telling us where Mason had hidden the moonstone, which was something you didn't have to do, so I guess you've forgiven. That doesn't mean we're friends but I'm not mad at you anymore." Maybe she was being a little too nice. However if it wasn't for Abigail, her and Damon never would have met and wouldn't be together right now.
Abigail gave her a smile. "Thanks."
Charlene just nodded. With that, she turned back around and went to the bathroom. She got back to the dinner table just in time for the wine. She sat down to Damon as Jenna poured wine into his glass. Abigail rejoined too and Elijah stood up to pull out her chair for her so she could sit down. She smiled at him in response, and Charlene stared, wondering if there was something going on between her doppelganger and the Original. She didn't have time think about it too much as Jenna spoke up.
"I hate to break it you, Damon, but according to Elijah, your family is not a founder of this town." She said in an almost teasing way.
"Hmm, do tell." Damon took a drink of wine, staring at Elijah over the rim of his glass.
"Well, as I mentioned to Jenna earlier, a faction of settlers migrated from Salem after the witch trials in the 1960s." Elijah stated, pouring the other bottle of wine into Abigail's glass. He continued, "Over the next few hundred years they developed this community where they could feel safe from the persecution."
"Hmm. Because they were witches." Jenna grinned.
"Yeah, but there's no tangible proof there were witches in Salem." Andie said almost condescendingly.
Charlene rolled her eyes. "Just because there's no proof doesn't mean they don't exist." She said strongly.
Elijah smiled at her for that, but Charlene pretended not to notice. "Well, the lore says that there was this wave of anti-witch hysteria." He said, "It broke out in the neighboring settlement, so these witches were rounded up. They were tied to stakes in a field together and, uh, burned. Some say you could hear the screams from miles around us. They were consumed by the fire. Could you pass the…"
"I wouldn't repeat this to the Historical Society." Jenna said, laughing a little.
"It's starting to sound a little like a ghost story to me." John commented, but everyone ignored him.
Damon leaned forward curiously, "So, why do you want to know the location of these alleged massacres?"
"You know…a healthy historian's curiosity I suppose." Elijah answered.
Damon didn't believe him if the expression on his face was anything to go by. "Of course." He agreed anyway with a slight smirk.
Elijah glanced at Damon and smiled nervously.
'He definitely wasn't telling the truth.' Charlene thought to herself, wondering what the real reason was.
Megan had her legs tucked under her on the couch she was sitting on, another one of the Johnathan Gilbert journals in her lap, her eyes trained on the words she was reading. She only looked up when she heard the sound of Stefan's familiar footsteps. He looked at her as she spoke up, looking back at the journal as she flipped the page.
"Man, Johnathan got crazier and crazier with every entry of these journals." Megan told him. "But I guess that's what you get when you spend the entirety of your life obsessed with the undead." She wasn't waiting for a response, picking up another journal. She was only reading for a few minutes when she read something very interesting. "Whoa, look at this!" She held up the journal to show the pages to Stefan as she informed him about what she read, "He researched the Originals."
"You're kidding." Stefan said, surprised. He quickly sat down next to her, and Megan brought the journal back to her lap so he could read it too.
"Yeah!" Megan pointed at the page. "He researched them later in life. He wrote pages and pages with questions and scribbles." She flipped through the pages and stopped on one of them, pointing at the picture of a silver dagger. "What's that?" She asked herself, catching Stefan's eyes, before looking down at the page and reading the words underneath the picture out loud. "The wood from one tree and one tree alone, an ancient white oak would bring death to an Original vampire. When the tree burned, all hope was thought lost." Eyes widening, she looked over at Stefan, disbelief written over her face. "I can't believe it…he was trying to figure out how to kill an Original."
"Megan…"
She didn't pay attention to her boyfriend even as he stood in front of her. "Does that mean this dagger actually exist and if it does…" She didn't get to finish her thought as Stefan interrupted her.
"I know it does."
Immediately, Megan's head snapped up to look at him in shock. "What?"
"Because John gave it to Damon."
"What?" Megan ignored the fact she sounded too much like the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who as she quickly got back to the task at hand. She pointed at the dagger and looked back up at Stefan. "Wait! So John gave this dagger to Damon that's supposed to kill Elijah? This one? Are you sure?"
"I'm sure."
"Then you need to hear this…" Megan read the passage under the picture of the dagger. "'It must be brandished by humans alone for it will bring death to all demons who wield it.'"
Stefan practically tore the journal out of Megan's hands and looked at it briefly before quickly picking up his phone and dialing who she guessed was Damon. "John's trying to get Damon killed." He said to Megan whose mouthed dropped.
"What?!"
Stefan ignored her as he waited for Damon to pick up his phone. Megan sat there, her mind whirling at what her boyfriend told her.
There wasn't an answer if the frustration on Stefan's face was any hint. "Why is your phone off? Call me." He put his phone and glanced over at Megan, who finally snapped out of her shock and now had a glare on her face, her arms crossed over her chest.
"What is going on, Stefan? The truth would be great." She told him sternly.
He gave a sigh and nodded. "Damon is planning on killing Elijah. Tonight."
The dinner was over, and everyone started to get up after seeing Damon get up. The older Salvatore looked over at Andie and she seemed to get the signal. Charlene's eyes narrowed at the sight, even more so when she heard Andie's words.
"The gentlemen should take the drinks in the study." She said. Okay, now she knew Damon was planning something, but what was it? She was going to pissed if it was something that would get him killed.
Charlene stared at her boyfriend, and she knew that he knew she was looking at him but was trying to ignore her death stare. Knowing she was onto him.
Elijah was the first to respond to Andie. "I have to say the food was almost as wonderful as the company."
She pointed at him with a pleased smile on her face. "I like you."
Charlene rolled her eyes, forcing back her anger at Damon for keeping things from her as she started picking up plates from the table to bring into the kitchen.
She washed the dishes the guests brought for her and was halfway done when Alaric came running into the kitchen, startling her. The look on his face made her heart drop into her stomach.
"Ric, what's wrong?" Charlene asked quickly.
"It's Damon."
Those words were never a good thing.
Damon stood in the library, pouring the drinks for the gentlemen as Elijah explored the room, eying the million of books on the shelves. "So let me guess…" Damon started off. "In addition to the moonstone, the doppelganger, the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe, you need to find this witch burial ground."
"Because I feel as though we've grown so close, Damon, I'll tell you yes." Elijah said, not looking over at him as his fingers trailed over the spines of the books. He paused, tilting his head. "Do you know where it is?"
Damon paused as well, picking up two drinks. "Tell me why it's so important." He said as she met Elijah half way and handed Elijah his drink of scotch.
"We're not that close." Elijah said shortly as he turned around, missing the look on Damon's face. He looked around at all the books again and commented on it, "It's quite a collection you have here."
"Mmm." With the Original's back turned, Damon slowly and carefully grabbed the silver dagger from the tray of glasses.
"It's a funny thing about books." Elijah stated, "Before they existed, people actually had memories."
Before Damon could do anything, Alaric, Charlene, and Andie burst into the room, and he had to quickly hide the dagger and the ash.
"Gentlemen, we forgot about desert." Alaric said, quickly giving a reason as to why he was in here.
"Elijah." Andie held out her hand to him.
"Miss Star…" Elijah handed his drink to Damon, who angrily drained it, and took Andie's hand. He twirled her around and they walked out of the room together.
As soon as they left, Damon angrily went to smack Alaric, but Charlene stopped him with her hand and glared at him.
What the hell is a matter with you? Charlene mouthed furiously. Damon looked confused, and she nudged Alaric to explain. He pointed down at the dagger, but her boyfriend was still confused. Alaric immediately grabbed some paper and wrote down something on it.
Damon read it, "The dagger will kill you if you lose it." In response, he threw the paper angrily at Alaric.
Charlene grabbed onto Damon and Alaric's arms to drag them out of the room, flashing Damon a look that said, 'we're going to talk about this later.' Damon rolled his eyes at this but said nothing.
Charlene was fuming mad at Damon for keeping this from her. She told him not to do anything stupid and yet there he was doing something stupid. If Elijah had found out about her boyfriend's plan Damon would be dead before he could even blink.
She tried to brush past it for now, not wanting anyone to ask any questions but she guessed she didn't do a good of it as Jenna whispered to her as her aunt went by her,
"Are you okay?"
Charlene forced a smile. "Yep." She said tightly, causing Jenna to frown but didn't ask anything else. She sat back down at the table beside Damon as he glared at John. She glared at John too since her uncle kept the fact that the dagger could kill Damon from her boyfriend.
John ignored them and how he could was a mystery to her as they were pretty hard glares.
"Ric, would you do me a favor and grab the notebook out of my bag?" Andie asked.
Alaric walked over to her bag.
"Elijah, did John tell you he's Elena's uncle-slash-father and Charlene and Megan's uncle?" Damon questioned him, turning his gaze to the Original.
"Yes, I'm well aware of that." Elijah nodded.
"Of course they hate him, so there's absolutely no need to keep him on the endangered list." Damon glanced over at Charlene to see if she'd deny it, but she didn't, so he turned around to smirk at John, who just glared at him.
"No Ric, it's the front pocket. On the…you know what? Excuse me, guys. Sorry." Andie left the table to go help Ric.
With her gone, John asked the question he had been wondering, "What I'd like to know, Elijah, is how you indeed to kill Klaus?"
Charlene sat up straighter in her seat, wondering what Elijah had to say to that.
"Gentlemen." Elijah sat upright as well, "There's a few things we should probably get clear right now. I allow you solely to live to keep an eye on Elena, Charlene, and Megan. I allow them to live in their houses living their life with their friends as they do as a courtesy. If you become a liability, I'll take them away and you'll never see them again."
Charlene felt Damon grip her hand tightly, and she returned the pressure. No one said anything as Andie came back to the table, sitting back down in her chair, pulling out her notebook and a pen.
"Okay." She started off, "My first question is when you got here to Mystic Falls…"
Suddenly, Alaric came out of nowhere and stabbed the dagger through Elijah's heart. The Original screamed in pain, dying right in front of everyone.
Abigail had an instant reaction. "No!" She would have tried to do something but there was no point, so instead, she hurried away. Charlene wanted to run after her, to tell her she didn't have to run, but it was hard to tell someone something like that when they were used to doing just that. Not only that, she was too in shock to do it.
After a moment, Alaric pulled out the dagger and placed it on the table as he looked over at Damon.
"Now, get rid of him before Jenna comes back with desert." He said, and Damon nodded.
"Alright." As he went to do so, Charlene watched, unable to help the feeling of dread that came over her.
Megan waited out on the balcony, unable to help the feeling of anger she was feeling over Stefan lying to her. They weren't supposed to lie to each other.
"Megan, we need to talk about this." She heard Stefan's voice from behind her and she turned around to face him, her arms crossed over her chest.
"Why should we? I mean if all you and Damon are going to do is lie to me and Charlene and Elena, what good is talking going to do? I will say this though if you lie to us and go behind our backs again, I'm going to…"
Stefan cut her off, "You're gonna what? Hmm? What are you going to do, Megan?"
"I…" Megan trailed off before sighing. "Well nothing I guess." What could she do really? Her boyfriend was a vampire. "But it's my life Stefan." She said gently. "It's our lives."
"Yeah, it's your lives and I'm going to everything I can to make sure that you guys live it."
"And I appreciate it, but I'm not going to let you die for us. Why did you tell me this stuff anyway? About you and Lexi? What was the point of it?"
There was frustration in Stefan's tone of voice as he responded to her, "I was telling you about a time when I thought everything was lost. When I had given up because that is exactly what you three are doing."
"We aren't giving up." Megan said defensively.
"Yes it is!" Stefan argued. "Even if you three don't want to admit it! You guys are giving up…and Lexi. She wouldn't let me give up. I'm not going to let you guys." Her body relaxed and her face softened. "Lexi showed me there was another way. That's all I want you, Charlene, and Elena to do. I want you guys to fight for it." He pressed his forehead against hers and Megan closed her eyes. When she opened them, Stefan was gone.
She sighed as she stood there by herself, thinking about what her boyfriend said.
After a while, it got too cold to stay out there so Megan returned to the living room to continue reading the journals. Stefan came in to join her after getting off the phone with Alaric.
"Elijah's dead." Stefan told her, causing her to look up at him. "Alaric did it."
Megan let out a sigh of relief, glad to hear it wasn't Damon who did it, or even Charlene. "Good." She said in relief as Stefan sat down on the couch with her. She closed the journal and leaned back against the cushions. "The Originals believed in truth and honor. It was forbidden for a vampire to kill another vampire. So, the dagger would take both lives. And as long as the dagger stays in place, the Original, for all intents and purposes is dead."
As soon as those words came out of her mouth, Stefan had jumped off the couch and ran out of the room, Megan right behind him, already knowing what was wrong.
They quickly came up with plan along with Damon and Charlene, and got Elena to come to the lake house.
It wasn't long until Elijah came as Stefan heard the rocks he was tossing back and forth in his hand. "He's here."
Elena started to head outside, Stefan grabbing onto her arm. "Elena, don't."
"Don't worry I got this." Elena said, hoping she sounded reassuring.
Megan touched Stefan's shoulder. "It's okay, Stefan. He can't get inside of the house." Her boyfriend looked over at her. "Let her do this." She turned back around to face Elena, reaching out to grab her hand to give it a squeeze. "Go."
Elena nodded.
Outside, Elijah walked closer to the house. "You know, I might not be able to enter this house…but I'm a very patient man." He warned. "I'll wait you out." He thought Megan would be the one to step out, but to his surprise, it was Elena. He tried not to let it show.
"They shouldn't have done what they did." Elena said.
"The deal I had with your cousin is off."
"Well, I want to make a new one."
Elijah gave her a wry smile. "No need." She didn't say anything for a moment as she slowly pulled out a knife, causing an amused smile to appear on his face.
"I'd like to see you lure Klaus into Mystic Falls after the doppelganger bleeds to death." Elena said seriously.
"Stefan won't let you die. Charlene, Megan, and the rest of your family would never forgive him."
"No, he won't but not just because he wouldn't forgive my family." Elena pointed out, knowing he cared about her like a sister. "And because he won't let me die…he'll just feed me his blood to heal me, and then I'll kill myself, just Katherine did. So unless you want that to happen again, lets make another deal, the same one you made with Megan, promise me…you won't harm anyone I love. Even if they've harmed you."
Elijah shook his head. "I'm sorry, Elena. I'm going to have to call your bluff."
Elena took a deep breath and pointed the knife to her stomach. Elijah watched her, unsure as to what she was about to do. Without any hesitation, the brunette stabbed herself in the stomach, screaming out in pain as she crumbled down to the floor, clutching herself.
Blood was gushing everywhere.
Elijah rushed to the door, but was forced by the barrier since he wasn't invited in. "No! Yes. Yes, you have you deal. Let me heal you!" He begged.
"Give me your word!" Elena grunted out.
"I give you my word!"
Elena limped outside and into Elijah's arms. Instead of letting him heal her, she suddenly stabbed him with the silver dagger, and the Original fell to the ground, dead. Elena fell to the ground as well, almost about to pass out from the blood loss.
Charlene rushed outside and bit into her wrist. Elena took the blood given to her. It slowly healed her. Charlene hugged her sister close, and Elena returned the pressure. Megan quickly joined in as Stefan watched over them, relief written all over his face.
Damon walked out from his hiding spot and stood in the doorway. Charlene, Stefan, Megan, and Elena all looked over at him.
"Little tip." He said, "Don't pull the dagger out."
They returned to the boarding house, and the group of three girls watched as Damon and Stefan put Elijah's body in the basement. Charlene and Megan stood on either side of Elena, holding onto her hands. Stefan went to stand with them as Damon kneeled down next to Elijah's body and searched through the pocket of his suit jacket.
"Uh! What do we have here?" The older Salvatore pulled out the moonstone.
"So, that's where it was." Megan commented, though she had already out that Elijah would be the one to have it.
Damon nodded. "A little moonstone bar of soap. I'll hold onto this." He stuck the stone in his pocket.
"So, that's it." Elena spoke up. "I mean, as long as we keep the dagger in there, then he stays dead."
Megan was the one to answer. "Yes." She told her cousin. "That's what it said in your uncle's journal and considering what happened, obviously that's true. I think it's time we go to sleep." She looked over at Damon and Stefan, "Goodnight." Still holding onto Elena's hand, they all turned to leave but Megan stopped, needing to say a little bit more. "Okay. You both need to hear this. Stefan told me that he wanted us to fight, so fine. We'll fight, but we're going to be doing this our way. First thing's first, you two can't keep anything from us anymore."
"And no more lying to us either. We're all in this together. There's no need for it." Charlene added.
"That seems fair." Damon agreed.
Megan looked over at Stefan. "Okay?"
He nodded. "Okay."
She gave him a brief smile, and with that, the girls left the basement, leaving Damon and Stefan alone.
A little bit later, Damon headed towards his bedroom. He could hear the shower running from inside his bathroom. It surprised him.
"Charlene?" Damon said her name, confused. "I thought you went home with Elena and Megan."
There was no answer, so he went to investigate. He walked into the bathroom and he was taken by surprise again when he found Demetria and Katherine in the shower together. Hearing him come in, both of the girls stepped out of the show, standing in front of him, completely naked.
Damon quickly made sure not to look at the both of them, feeling weirded out to look at them, considering them looking like Elena and Megan, who he never wanted to see naked to begin with.
"Hello, Damon, thanks for letting us use your shower. It felt wonderful." Demetria smirked as she put her arms behind her back.
"Hey, do you have a robe?" Katherine asked, smirking herself.
Still keeping his eyes off of him, Damon questioned them, "How did you guys get out?"
"Well, for one thing, you are entirely too gullible." Demetria said, making Damon glare at her. She ignored it though.
"Anyway." Katherine rolled her eyes at her sister trying to provoke the older Salvatore. "We knew that if we begged you not to kill Elijah, that's exactly what you'd do. Little known fact…Original vampires can compel vampires. But as soon as they die, the compulsion wears off."
Damon wanted to smack himself in the forehead for how stupid he was. "And you both knew."
"Guilty as charged." Demetria smirked, but then grew serious. "Hey, but we didn't run. We were serious about helping you. If you'll let us."
"But first…" Katherine looked down at herself with a smirk. "How about those robes?"
Damon simply just stared at them.
