Zabuza and Hashi walked on the main deck of The Fire Shadow giving orders. Zabuza yelled, "Trim that sail."

Hashi didn't want to lose The Fire Shadow to Zabuza once again, so he began giving orders, "Trim that sail."

"Slack windward brace and sheet."

"Slack windward brace and sheet."

"Haul the pennant line!"

"Haul the pennant line!"

Zabuza had enough, "What are you doing?"

"What are you doing?"

"No, what are you doing?"

"What are you doing?"

"No, what are you doing?"

"What are you doing?" Hashi was going to insult Zabuza but he refrained, "Captain gives orders on the ship."

"The captain of the ship is giving orders."

"My ship, makes me captain."

Zabuza held up the set of charts, "They be my charts."

"That makes you navigator once again."

Nagato walked up to the two, "Stow it! The both of you! That's an order! Understand!" He yelled.

Sparrow and Zabuza stopped their bickering and just stared at Nagato with both confusion and anger.

Nagato smiled shyly and backed up slightly, "Sorry. I just thought with the captain issue in doubt, I'd throw in my name in consideration." He stepped out of the way as Zabuza and Hashi raced to the helm, both pushing and shoving each other.

Nagato leaned against the rail, taking a deep breath. Yahiko stood next to him now, "I'd vote for you."

"Yeah?" Nagato whispered.

Zabuza pulled out his spyglass and looked off into the distance. Hashi did the same though his spyglass was a little shorter than Zabuza's. Zabuza looked at him with a smirk as Hashi tried extending his spyglass. Hashi collapsed his spyglass in defeat and walked off.

Kakashi was sitting by some stairs below deck, she was thinking about when Konan told her about a vision where her father arrived at Port Konoha and gave Kaguya Madara's heart. It made her angry that Konan would sully her father cause at the time they had thought him dead, but a spy of Zabuza's had confirmed that Admiral Uzumaki was in fact alive and that Kaguya had Madara wrapped around her finger. Kakashi wasn't handling it how she might've had she not turned pirate, she bottled up her emotions regarding her father.

Obito stepped down the steps and sat next to her, "Are you feeling better?" His voice was sincere and compassionate.

Kakashi looked at the floor, "I thought getting Hashi back would fix the anger and shame I feel for my father's actions. But it doesn't."

Obito tried easing her troubled mind, "Not everything goes away once we achieve a goal. We hope it does but it doesn't. The only way to deal with problems like that is to face them head-on with courage and pride. But then again our families have a weird history and I suppose we're here to fix their mess aren't we?"

Kakashi looked up from the floor and at Obito, almost entranced, she stared at the scar on the right side of his face. "Obito, why don't you feel any hatred or shame toward your aunt?"

Obito answered quietly, "A year ago I was willing to stab her heart and free my father. But now I pity her, no one should subject themselves to eternal hatred. Not even someone as cruel as her."

"Do you think Madara can be saved?"

"I think if anyone can save her it's Hashi. But first, we have to get out of here before thinking about something like that."

Kakashi smiled and held onto his face, "Your red eyes, why haven't you used them?"

Obito averted his eyes, "Because they only see pain, sorrow, and death. I'm lucky enough to be able to turn them off, unlike my father and aunt."

"But you're not like them, you can use it for good."

"I'm more like them than I care to admit. But I hope you're right, that I can use the Sharingan for good." He kissed her one last time before walking up the stairs.

Back in the land of the living, aboard The Perfect Susanoo, Governor Namikaze stood next to the starboard railing. He was worried cause there had not been any news about Obito for a year, and he feared the worst.

A cold shiver went up his spine as someone walked up to the rail and leaned their back against the rail to his left, "You're different than the others. You remind me of my father."

He looked at the owner of said voice, it was the captain of the ghost ship. Minato gulped before replying, "I am the governor of Port Konoha, Minato Namikaze. I confirm requisitions for Lady Kaguya to the king of Iwa."

Madara looked him up and down before her gaze returned to the ocean, "Port Konoha, that was where Obito was from. Have you met him?"

Minato felt uneasy from Madara's red eyes, "I raised him with my wife from when he was a boy. Do you know anything about him and his whereabouts?"

Madara turned to him, "He's dead. Dragged to the depths along with The Fire Shadow by my pet."

Minato was distraught with grief, "How could you do such a thing?!"

Madara smirked maliciously, "My whole job is based around death, you think my nephew's life is of concern to me? He stole the key to my chest that your superior now owns. Him rotting in the locker is all that he deserves." She walked away with an air of pure malice and anger.

Minato was in thought. That woman was apparently Obito's aunt and she had killed him without a second thought. Minato thought about the things Kaguya made Madara do, there wasn't much he could do to stop it. But for the sake of everyone that Kaguya deemed an enemy, he would get Madara out of the picture. Die trying if need be. At least his conscience would be clear.

Admiral Uzumaki was in the Captain's cabin aboard The Perfect Susanoo. Four Royal Navy guards stood near a table holding the chest containing Madara's heart, it was open wide revealing it to everyone. The guards had their rifles pointing at it, ready to fire if given the word.

Governor Namikaze ran in and grabbed a rifle's bayonet and was about to stab the heart with it before Tobirama stopped him, "Governor!" He yelled whilst wrestling the bayonet from him.

"Did you know? He's dead. Obito's dead!" Minato continued to press the bayonet toward the chest.

Tobirama didn't know how to respond, but he didn't want any of his men to escalate the situation any further. "Leave!"

As his men left the cabin Madara pushed and shoved her way through to see what the commotion was for. She saw the governor trying to stab her heart, "Let him go." She said.

To which Tobirama pulled out his pistol and aimed it at Madara.

"Stay back! I'm prepared to kill you." Minato said as he still struggled with Tobirama.

Madara took a step forward, "And are you prepared for what comes after?" She saw Minato's face jump from one of sorrow and determination to one of confusion. "When I carved out that traitorous vessel from my body I cast upon it a terrible hex. If you stab my heart, yours must take its place. The crew are not bound to me, they're bound to The Susanoo. And The Susanoo must have a captain. Will ye serve?" She taunted.

Minato didn't care about her words, he broke through Tobirama's grip and was about to stab the heart.

"Governor!" Kaguya entered the room with Mr. Danzo at her side, "Obito Uchiha is still alive."

Danzo said, "I saw him myself in Kumo."

Minato shook his head looking between Kaguya and Madara, "No. You're all liars."

Kaguya stepped forth, "No. Captain Uchiha is merely cruel. I perhaps am guilty of the sin of omission. To which I apologize." She held her head down for a moment.

Tobirama spoke softly, "Governor, there is still hope. Please." He looked down at the bayonet.

Minato looked at Tobirama and reluctantly gave him the bayonet. He walked toward the door but stopped next to Kaguya, "Our association has ended." He said bitterly. He walked out the door full of rage and happiness.

Kaguya was annoyed at the events that transpired but she already planned on tying up one less loose end so it didn't matter. "You're dismissed, captain." Madara grumbled as she left the cabin reluctantly. It was formerly her cabin after all.

Kaguya nodded to Tobirama, "Thank you, Admiral."

Tobirama looked at her with a scoff as he holstered his pistol and gave a look of disapproval before exiting the cabin, but not before placing the bayonet in his mother's palm.

"She's a sly one, that Madara. Who's going to kill her if they know what they'll become?" Danzo asked.

Kaguya walked toward the chest, "I'll order Tobirama's silence. He's my son so he'll obey, it's what he does."

"And the governor?"

"Yes. Well, every man should have a secret he takes with him to his grave." She shut the chest and it closed with a hiss.

It was now night in the land of the dead, Yahiko and Nagato were fishing near the front of the ship. Yahiko was hanging one leg over the rail along with his arm holding a fishing rod. He looked at the water and jumped back onto the deck suddenly. Nagato looked at what made him jump, spirits were flowing through the water. "Eerie. That's downright macabre." Nagato said.

"I wonder what would happen if you dropped a cannonball on one of them?" Yahiko said.

They both laughed as they carried a cannonball toward the rail, they saw Hashi leaning against the railing and both Yahiko and Nagato dropped their cannonballs, "Be disrespectful, it would." Nagato said.

Hashi looked at them with pain in his heart, "They should be in the care of Madara, to ferry those lost at sea to the other side. That was the duty she was charged with. Instead, they float here, endlessly." He clutched a gold necklace that was in the shape of a heart with the name 'Hashirama' on it.

"Captain Sparrow, I thought you was an avatar for the Kodama and Suijin's will. But with how you acted when we's met Madara Uchiha makes me think you are the Kodama." Yahiko said.

"If I were, would you guys see me as more than an idiot captain with an infatuation for rum?"

"Not at all, captain," Yahiko said.

Hashi sighed, "I was the Kodama, but that was never my name. It was the name the people gave me. And after the first Brethren Court imprisoned me, my brother, and my mother into human forms, I've been known as Hashi Sparrow after a fateful encounter with the infamous pirate killer Captain Orochimaru and his ship The Silent Serpent. He nicknamed me Sparrow after I taunted him from up in the crow's nest. He and his ship went down into the devil's triangle shortly afterward."

"That about explains the ridiculous name," Nagato said.

Zabuza walked toward the three, "So it's you."

Hashi turned to him, "So you heard."

Zabuza stood in front of Sparrow, he eyed him. "I never would have expected for you to be the Kodama."

"Bet you wished you didn't mutiny against me now, eh?"

"Perhaps, but I can't say it wasn't fun to captain The Shadow."

Hashi stared at him still feeling some rage thinking about the mutiny, "I felt satisfied from seeing your body fall limp, even if we were once friends."

"Aye. I bet you did. But now be the time to let bygones be bygones and put an end to Kaguya's reign. And you're going to help me do it. 'Cause you're the last piece of the puzzle."

Before Hashi could reply Yahiko looked off into the distance and said, "Now there's boats coming."

The two captains and Nagato looked toward the front of the ship and saw hundreds of thousands of long boats, each with a lantern.

Most of the crew now came up from below deck, including Kakashi, Sarutobi, Touka, and Konan.

Mr. Saru grabbed a rifle and loaded it. He was ready to aim it but Zabuza pointed his rifle down, "They're not a threat to us. It be best that we let them be."

Hashi looked on at the neverending amount of spirits, how many had Madara killed because his mother forced her? He grit his teeth just thinking about it. But what made it worse is that he recognized someone, a blonde-haired man with a funny-looking hat. He looked like someone with a degree of power.

Obito walked on deck and saw Minato in one of the rowboats, "Governor? We've made it back." He seemed overjoyed at seeing his adoptive father. "Over here!" He waved to gain his attention.

Hashi looked at him with sympathy, "Son, we're not back."

Obito's face turned to sorrow at Hashi's words.

Minato looked saddened seeing Obito, "Obito. Are you dead?" Obito shook his head as he followed the boat from the rail.

"I think I am," Minato's voice was depressing for those aboard The Fire Shadow to hear.

"No, you can't be."

"There was this chest, you see. It's odd. At the time it seemed so important."

"Come aboard!" Obito yelled out.

"And a heart. I learned that if you stab the heart, yours must take its place. And you will sail the seas for eternity. The Susanoo must have a captain. What a silly little thing to die for."

Obito turned around and asked, "Someone, cast a line." He turned back to Governor Namikaze, "Come back with us!"

Yagura grabbed a bundle of rope and handed it to Obito. He threw it onto Minato's boat. "Governor Namikaze! Grab the line, we'll pull you aboard."

Minato gave a faint smile, "I'm so proud of you, Obito. You've grown into a strong young man."

Obito began panicking as Minato still sat on the boat as it started getting further away from The Shadow. "Governor, the line! Please!"

Obito ran to the back of the ship and almost jumped onto Minato's boat but was stopped by Kakashi who hugged him tightly. Obito was on the verge of tears knowing that his adoptive father accepted his fate and continued sailing away.

"Please tell Kushina that I'm sorry that I won't be able to see our son." Those were Minato's last words before he was out of sight from The Fire Shadow.

Kakashi held onto Obito as he cried into her shoulder. She asked Konan, "Is there a way?"

Konan shook her head no, "Him at peace."

It was nearly sunset the next day, Yahiko and Sarutobi sat with their backs against each other in the middle of the main deck. Yahiko tried drinking from a flask of water but nothing came out, "No water. Why is all but the rum gone?"

Mr. Saru tried drinking from a bottle of rum but with the same result, "Rum's gone too."

Obito sat on a step to the helm still grieving the loss of Governor Namikaze. Kakashi stood next to Konan at the rail, she worried about Obito and their chances to escape the afterlife.

Konan said, "If we cannot escape these doldrums before night, I fear we will sail on trackless seas. Doomed to roam the reach between worlds... Forever."

Saru now stood at the rail, "With no water, forever looks to be arriving a mite too soon."

Kakashi fearing they'll be stuck looked at Zabuza who was near the front of the ship, "Why doesn't he do something?"

Just then Nagato lost his eye to Hashi the monkey, "My eye. Give it back!"

Sarutobi was thinking out loud with Kakashi, "There's no sense to it."

"And the green flash happens at sunset, not sunrise."

"Over the edge. Ah, it's driving me over the blooming edge." Saru said.

Hashi missing his hat and jacket, overheard their conversation as he was messing with the special chart. He pushed the rings until he saw the words, "Up is down." He sighed to himself, "Well, that's just maddening unhelpful. Why are these things never clear?"

"Clear is mud, Hashirama." A voice said over Sparrow's shoulder.

"What!? Eh?"

Hashi looked around before a small version of himself appeared out of his hair and dangled on a heavy strand of his hair on his left.

"Stab the heart."

"Don't stab the heart." Another small Hashi appeared from his right. "The Susanoo must have a captain."

"Well, that's even more than less than unhelpful."

"We get rid of Madara and we get to sail the sea for the rest of eternity. As long as nobody can get our heart." The left said.

"I love the sea."

"What about port?"

"I prefer rum. Rum's good."

"Making port. Where we can get rum..." The small version on the right jumped onto his shoulder. "Once every ten years."

The one on his left asked, "What'd he say?"

"Once every ten years."

"Ten years is a long time, mate."

"Even longer given the deficit of rum."

"But eternity is longer still. And you've survived a long time already." The left said.

"And how will you handle the death of your beloved? Drowning any bit of feeling in rum again? Because she's still in there... ...probably under all those cracks somewhere." The right said.

Hashi felt pain in his heart just thinking about Madara's possible death.

The left said, "But there's no chance that she won't kill you again once we're back in the living world."

"Maybe if there was a way to break Madara from her fate without death, then we could go back to how we used to."

"Come sunset, it won't matter." The right said.

Hashi had a brainstorm, "Not sunset." He started moving the center circle of the chart which had a picture of a ship upside down, "Sundown. And rise... Up." He stood up and ran to the starboard railing while saying, "What's that?" He pointed to nothing. Mr. Saru and Kakashi followed him to the rail. Hashi knew that he'd have to rock the ship until it was submerged so he played the part of the fool. "What is it? I don't know. What do you think?" Hashi said to nothing and no one.

Mr. Saru was confused, "Where?"

"There." Hashi then screamed and ran to the other side.

Zabuza was now curious about whatever Sparrow was doing, "What's gotten into you now, Sparrow?"

Now Konan, Yagura, and Touka joined in with trying to find whatever Sparrow was looking at. Obito was curious because he knew that Hashi had been able to either see things others couldn't, or he was just insane. Either or. And then Tenzo and some of his crew joined in rocking the ship.

After several back and forths, Nagato was trying to grab his eye which was now rolling on the charts. Zabuza grabbed Nagato's hand before he grabbed the wooden eye and grabbed it himself, and put it into his mouth before popping it into Nagato's eye socket. He smacked Nagato's head to make sure it was stuck in good. And he then looked at the chart and understood, "Aye. He's onto it."

Yahiko was just standing in the middle of the ship not knowing what was happening, he just stated what was happening, "He's rocking the ship."

Mr. Saru smiled dumbly at Yahiko, "We're rocking the ship!"

Nagato walked up to Yahiko with a rope, "We'll tie each other to the mast upside down, so when the boat flips we'll be the right way up." Yahiko smiled as he followed his friend to the mast.

Zabuza shouted, "Time it with the swell. " He stepped below deck and held onto the ceiling and shouted to the crew below deck. "Loose the cannons, you lazy bilge rats! Unstow the cargo. Let it shift." He grabbed a tomahawk and cut ropes holding a stack of barrels, letting them roll around.

Back on the top deck, Yahiko and Nagato had fully tied themselves to the mast. They smiled at each other as their hair was hanging down.

Zabuza walked up to the top deck now and joined in with the rocking of the ship which was getting harder and harder to reach the other side.

The ship rocked to the point no one's feet were touching the deck as they held onto the railing, one of Tenzo's men fell onto a Jacobs ladder but a cannon fell onto him, crushing and killing him.

The ship was now on its side and continuing to flip as everyone on the main deck was holding onto the railing. Hashi said, "Now up... ...is down." The ship flipped until it was submerged into water.

Everyone looked around waiting for something, anything to happen. And then as the sun set, a green flash went off and The Fire Shadow was thrust downward and downward until they reached the bottom which was the land of the living in open air.
