Chapter 11
Cavalry Battle
The teams started charging towards Izuku.
"We aren't the only ones that are going after him." Kirishima said.
"Just keep running!" Bakugo yelled.
"It looks like they are sinking." Freya said, seeing one of the competitors using his quirk to make the ground start sinking them up. Izuku hits a button and his team goes flying in the air with a jet pack. Freya looked at the pink haired girl. "I think Midoryia has a girl from the Support class."
"Who cares. I'm still gonna crush him!" Bakugo said. Jiro sent her earphone jacks at Izuku. Dark Shadow stopped them. "He's got the bird boy with him." Izuku's team landed. "Let's move." Hagakure yelled. Freya looked and saw that her team lost their headband.
"Wow! Barely two minutes have passed since we started, and it's already a total free for all! Yeah! Watch those headbands! You can ignore the ten million points and go after the other chart toppers!" Present Mic said. Purple balls were thrown towards Izuku. Mineta was riding on the back of Shoji who had like a shell protecting Mineta and Tsu.
"Is that even allowed?" Sero asked.
"Judges say yes!" Midnight yelled. A tongue comes flying out and almost hits Izuku, the silvered hair guy, and Bakugo. Bakugo judges. Izuku dodges all of them and hits a button and launches in the air but destroys one of the shoes cause of Mineta's balls.
"He's in the air again." Freya said.
"Perfect." Bakugo said.
"What are you doing?" Kirishima said. Freya turned her face as Bakugo blasts off into the air.
"Sero. Be ready to grab him." Freya said. Sero nodded.
"Don't think for a second that you're safe." Bakugo said. He got close and swung his arm back. "I've got you!" Bakugo brings his arm back.
"Tokayami!" Izuku yells. Dark Shadow gets in front of Bakugo as he hits Dark Shadow with an explosion. Dark Shadow groans in pain. The crowd cheers.
"Whoa!" Present Mic yells.
"What the hell's that?" Bakugo asked as he starts falling.
"Sero, now!" Freya yelled. Sero sent his tape flying and it grabs Bakugo. He starts to bring him back to his team.
"Bakugo has been separated from his horses!" Present Mic said.
"Whoa. Nice Catch!" Kirishima said. Freya and Sero grunted as they caught Bakugo.
"Is that even allowed?" Present Mic said.
"He never touched the ground, so technically it's okay." Midnight said. Bakugo growled.
"I'm gonna kill that damn bird!" Bakugo said as he gets back on Kirishima's back. Izuku's team landed back on the ground. Present Mic was saying something, but Bakugo's team wasn't paying attention.
"We are not killing our classmates especially on live TV. So, behave." Freya grumbled. They started running when a hand reached out and pulled Bakugo's headband off.
"Other than Midoriya, Class 1-A's not doing so hot!" Present Mic called. Freya looked up and gasped. "Even Bakugo is losing!" Bakugo growled and looked to see who took his headband. A boy with blonde hair was going by.
"Your class is too small minded. Think bigger." The boy said.
"He got us." Freya said.
"What did you say? Come back here!" Bakugo yelled. Kirishima turned them so they were looking at the guy that held their headband. The blonde's team stopped, and the leader turned to look at them.
"Midnight said the obstacle course was just the first game, and we figured they wouldn't cut that many of us right off the bat. Would they?" The Blonde said.
"Huh?" Bakugo said, glaring at the boy.
"Assuming they'd keep at least 40 contestants for the next event, all we have to do was make sure we stayed within that group as we ran. From our spots in the middle ranks, we could fully observe the Quirks our rivals had and judge their capabilities. Only a fool would obsess over winning the preliminary rounds, wouldn't you agree?" The Blonde said.
"You planned that as a class?" Bakugo asked. More teams were coming. The blonde put the headband around his neck.
"It wasn't totally unanimous, but I'd say it's playing out well." The Blonde said.
"Hey, they're coming." The black-haired guy said.
"It's better than chasing after a temporary frontrunner like a horse with a carrot waving in his face." The Blonde said. Freya saw anger flare in Bakugo's face.
"Katsuki, don't." Freya said.
"Oh, while I have your attention. You're kinda famous, aren't you? For being attacked by that sludge villain." The blonde said. Freya knew that boy hit a nerve. "You'll have to tell me about it sometime." Bakugo was getting more pissed. "It must be strange to always find yourself in the role of the victim." Bakugo had the look of murder on his face. Freya knew this wasn't gonna end well.
"Kirishima, we have a change of plans.
"Uh." Kirishima said. He turned back and gasped at the murderous look on Bakugo's face. The blonde looked back. Sero and Kirishima looked terrified. Freya was looking down.
'I'm gonna shove my foot up his ass after this.' Freya thought.
"Before we take down Deku, we're gonna kill every last one of these B-list idiots!" Bakugo said. The blonde smirks. Bakugo stared him down.
"We have now reached the halfway point of the game! As the cavalry battle enters it's second half, it's anyone's game! Class 1-B has made an unexpected showing, but who will wear the ten million points in the end? That's the real question, sports fans" Present Mic said. Freya saw Izuku cornered by Todoroki and his team.
"Katsuki. Todoroki has Izuku cornered." Freya said.
"We'll deal with Icy Hot after this." Bakugo growled. Ice and lightning came.
"Monama. Don't provoke him. That's the kinda thing he would do." Black haired guy said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. It's not very heroic of me. Besides, you know how these things work. Heroes are always being hounded by moronic villains desperate for some kind of revenge." Monama said. Bakugo was shaking. Freya was hating the blonde.
"Calm down, Bakugo. You gotta keep a level head or we'll never get our points back!" Kirishima said. Bakugo lets out a roar as he slams his fists together and causes an explosion.
"Shut up! I've never been calmer. Can't you tell?" Bakugo said.
"Calm, my ass." Freya grumbled seeing the crazed look on Bakugo's face.
"Now get after them, Kirishima!" Bakugo said.
"Please don't make us regret this." Kirishima said. They took off after Monoma.
"You think you're tough? Die!" Bakugo said as he reaches towards Monoma and uses an explosion. Monama blocks the attack and Bakugo turns to go, but Monoma causes an explosion right in Bakugo's face. Freya's eyes widen.
"Huh. Wow. I see why you like this Quirk!" Monoma said. He smacks Kirishima in the head.
"Whoa, weird! That guy has your Quirk!" Kirishima said.
"Damn it!" Bakugo said. Freya turns her head as Bakugo causes another explosion.
"You both have impressive powers." Monoma said. He comes out of the smoke with his skin hardened.
"But I think you'll agree mine's better." Monoma said.
"Huh? What? Mine, too?" Kirishima said.
"Bastard. His Quirk." Bakugo said. Freya looked up at Bakugo. "He can copy other powers." Monoma smirked.
"Very good." Monoma said. His hand and face goes back to normal. "So even an idiot could figure it out." Bakugo growls.
"Katsuki. He's trying to bait you. Don't let him get under your skin." Freya said. Bakugo goes to attack when a white substance comes between them. "Jump!" Freya formed a step as the ground started getting sticky. Kirishima, Sero, and Freya jump onto the step, and she moves the step away from the white stuff.
"Good idea. Looks like that stuff would have us stuck." Sero said.
"So, your one of the teachers' daughters. I heard you were participating." Monama said. Freya glared at him.
"Monoma. If we keep those headbands, we're good. As long as no one gets near us, we'll make our class proud." The Black hair dude said, and they started running.
"Oh, no hard feelings right?" Monoma said.
"Not for long!" Bakugo said. Monoma turned to see Freya get them to the ground and they were getting charged at again. "Freya be ready to use your dad's quirk."
"Got it." Freya said. Bakugo blasts in the air.
"Hey, don't just fly off on your own!" Kirishima said.
"Tsuburaba! Stop him!" Monama said. Tsuburaba opens his mouth. Freya's eyes went dark purple, and her hair went up.
"Shit. She erased my quirk." Tsuburba said.
"She erased all of ours." The other said. Bakugo grabbed all the headbands Monoma had and ripped them off.
"Sero. Grab him." Freya said as she blinked to let her eyes and hair go back to normal. Sero used tape and pulled Bakugo back. Bakugo held all the points in his hand. Bakugo looked at Freya with a victorious grin on his face. Freya smiled as her and Sero helped him adjust.
"Woah. Who is that girl? She erased the other teams quirks." A watcher said. Aizawa was listening.
"You don't know who she is? She's the daughter of Eraser Head and that force ability. That is Nikita Peace daughter. She was killed a decade ago."
"She has two quirks. She's gonna be a good sidekick in the future. Any pro would want her."
'They aren't wrong there.' Aizawa said.
"Team Bakugo nabs two headbands and moves into third place! The final moments of the game has been full of shakeups! Oh, to be young again!" Present Mic said.
"I told you to warn us before you jumped!" Sero said.
"He kind of did when he told me to be ready." Freya said as they ran. Freya looked at the scoreboard. "Todoroki has the 10 million points."
"Damn it." Bakugo said. He wasn't happy.
"Whatever, this means we're advancing." Kirishima said.
"We're not done!" Bakugo said.
"Huh?" Sero said. Bakugo started punching Kirishima in the head.
"We're gonna be the indisputable champions of the game!" Bakugo said.
"How the hell do you put up with this dude?" Sero asked, looking at Freya.
"I'm still figuring that out." Freya said with a sigh as they ran.
"I couldn't brace myself earlier when I jumped. Get closer!" Bakugo ordered. Bakugo clenched his fist. "We'll get our points back from this idiot, then go for the big one!" His team smirked.
"Let's do it." Sero said.
"Elbow guy. Tape him!" Bakugo said.
"My name's Sero." Sero said. He sent tape flying ahead.
"Brat! Erase their Quirks now!" Bakugo said.
"On it." Freya said. Her eyes glowed dark purple and hair went up as she erased all of Team Monoma's Quirks. Freya quickly made a sled with the force and Bakugo used explosions to make them fast towards the team. Bakugo uses an explosion to grab the last headband.
"Bakugo is a merciless force! What a point hog!" Present Mic said. The crowd cheered. Bakugo turned towards the ice as he puts the new headband on his neck.
"Now! We're going after Deku and Todoroki!" Bakugo said. They run towards the ice. A buzzer sounds.
"Ten seconds. You better move now, Katsuki!" Freya yelled. Bakugo causes an explosion and goes breaking through the ice.
"Deku!" Bakugo said.
"Bakugo!" Kirishima yelled. Everyone was getting ready to defend their points. "Whose got the points?" He saw Izuku going after Todoroki. "Damnit, Icy Hot!"
"Time's up!" Present Mic said. Bakugo fell face down into the ground. Freya sighed. "And with that, the second round is officially over." Freya, Sero, and Kirishima run over to Bakugo.
"Bakugo. Are you okay, man?" Kirishima asked. Bakugo started pounding the ground with his fist.
"Okay. We don't need to be throwing a tantrum when we are on live TV." Freya said. Todoroki and Izuku got off their teammates.
"Now, let's take a look at who our top four teams are!" Present Mic said. Freya looked at the scoreboard. "In first place, Team Todoroki! Freya noticed Kaminari walking around acting stupid.
'He fried his brain.' Freya thought.
"In second place, Team Bakugo!" Present Mic.
"I'll take that over first. We made it to the top teams." Freya said. Kirishima and Sero nodded.
"Least we're moving on so it's all good." Sero said. Kirishima nudged Freya.
"I don't think our leader would agree with you both." Kirishima said as Bakugo sat up and let out a scream of rage.
"Acting like a flipping three-year-old right now." Freya said with her arms crossed.
"It third place is Tetute... Wait, what?" Present Mic said. Freya turned to see the blue haired guys with Ojiro and Aoyami.
"He made it to third?" Freya asked.
"Hmm." Kirishima said.
"It's Team Shinso? When did they come back from the dead?" Present Mic asked.
"So whose fourth?" Sero said.
"And in fourth place is Team Midoriya." Present Mic said. Freya smiled as Midoryia fell to his knees and started crying. Freya couldn't help but smile. He made it this far at least. "These four valiant teams will advance on to the final round." Kirishima threw an arm around Freya and Sero.
"We did it. We're advancing to the next round!" Kirishima said. Freya and Sero smiled. Bakugo stood up.
"Now, let's take an hour lunch break before we start the afternoon festivities!" Present Mic said. Freya came up to Bakugo.
"Katsuki. Let's go get lunch." Freya said. Bakugo turned. He saw her smiling.
"Yeah. Let's go." Bakugo said. The two follow their friends out of the stadium.
