Chapter 12
Break Time
They all stood waiting in line to get food.
"Freya." Freya looked to see Tsu standing there. "Congrats."
"Thanks. Sorry you guys didn't make it." Freya said.
"You seemed to do well with your quirks." Mina said. Freya shrugged.
"Bakugo knows how my Quirks work more than others besides Deku." Freya said. They grabbed their food and Freya and Kirishima found Bakugo and joined him. Freya sat down next to Jiro and Mina. She wondered where Bakugo disappeared off to, but Izuku and Todoroki were missing as well.
"So, what you think the final round will be?" Kirishima asked as Sero joined them.
"Guess we'll find out after our break." Freya said as she ate her food as Kaminari joined them, finally normal after frying his brain. "You alright, Kaminari?"
"I'm fine now." Kaminari said. Freya and Jiro got up and put their trays away. They stood talking with Yaoyorozu.
"Yaoyorozu. Jiro. Freya." Kaminari said. The girls looked at Mineta and Kaminari.
"Uh huh, do you need something?" Yaoyorozu asked. Mineta turned to look at the girls running by in cheerleader costumes.
"Well, I'm sure you already know since you're like, a class rep. But they said all the girls have to wear those uniforms for the big cheer battle this afternoon." Mineta said.
"Huh?" Jiro said. Freya and Yaoyorozu share looks.
"That's odd. That's the first time I'm hearing about it." Yaoyorozu said.
"Father would of said something. Are you sure?" Freya asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You don't have to believe me if you wanna get in trouble. But this is coming from Mr. Aizawa." Mineta said. Kaminari stood there shaking his head. "I thought maybe you'd forgotten, so I figured I'd remind you, just in case."
"Well let's go get the girls and find some cheer costumes." Yaoyorozu said. The girls walk off.
"We sure Mineta is telling the truth?" Freya said.
"We don't want to get in trouble, do we." Jiro said. The girls found the other girls and told them. Uraraka and Tsu seemed hesitant, but they agreed to do it.
On the field.
"Get those foam fingers in the air! It's almost time for the last round! But before that: Good news for everyone who didn't make the finals. Since this is a Sports Festival, we've prepared some super-fun games everyone can participate in! We even brought in cheerleaders from America to get your blood pumping!" Present Mic said. Aizawa looked down and his eyes widen.
"Ah.." Aizawa said. Present Mic looked confused. Bakugo looked at the cheerleaders and nearly groaned.
"Hold up." Present Mic said. Class 1-A girls stood in Cheerleader Costumes. Aizawa saw his daughter standing with the girls. He figured she was smart enough not to fall under whoevers idea it was to dress up as Cheerleaders.
"What are they doing?" Aizawa said.
"Looks like Class 1-A is going full-on fanservice!" Present Mic said.
"I knew we were tricked." Freya grumbled. Kaminari and Mineta were chuckling as they were giving each other thumbs up. Bakugo had to admit in his mind that Freya looked good in the cheerleader costume. Freya sighed as Yaoyorozu glared at Mineta and Kaminari.
"What?! You tricked us? You're gonna regret this!" Yaoyorozu said. Freya clutched the pom poms a little to hard. Yaoyorozu falls to her knees on the grass. "Why is it that I always end up falling for that little pervert's stupid schemes. Freya knelt next to her and patted her shoulder. "I even used my Quirk to make these Outfits."
"We all fell for it." Freya said. Jiro started punching the air and throws the pom poms down.
"Ugh. I hate those guys!" Jiro said.
"Well, we do have a little time before the finals start, and I kinda like these uniforms, so..." Hagakure said. She starts dancing around. "How about we just roll with it!"
"Are you crazy?" Jiro said.
"It might help me calm my nerves." Freya said.
"Wow, Toru. You've got skills." Tsu said. The crowd cheers.
"Have fun competing in these little side games, everyone!" Present Mic said. The board lights up with the final round. "After they're over, the 16 students from the top four teams will be duking it out one-on-one in a tournament-style fighting competition. I promise you're not gonna wanna miss these epic match ups!" The girls join their class.
"Tricked by a pervert, Brat?" Bakugo said with amusement in his voice.
"Oh shut up." Freya said. Bakugo chuckled. "Least we get to show off what we're made of at least." Bakugo looked at the screen. Midnight stood on the stage with a box labeled Lots.
"Come closer and draw lots to see who you're up against. Then enjoy the pleasure of the recreational games before we start. The 16 finalists have the option of participating in those activities or sitting out to prepare for battle. I'm sure you all want to conserve your stamina. I'll start with the first-place team." Midnight said. Ojiro raised his hand.
"Um. Excuse me. Sorry. But I'm withdrawing." Ojiro said. Students gasp.
"What?" Freya asked.
"Ojiro. No way!" Izuku said. Even Midnight looked shocked.
"But this is a rare chance for you to get scouted." Iida said. Ojiro brought his arm down and Freya saw the sad look on his face.
"It just wouldn't be right. I barely remember anything from the Cavalry Battle until the very end of it." Ojiro said. Freya shared looks with Jiro.
"I... think it was that guy's Quirk." Ojiro said. Izuku and Freya looked at the guy that was named Shinso.
'What is his Quirk?' Freya thought. Shinso looked away.
"I know this is a great opportunity." Ojiro said. He clenched his fist. "I wish I could take advantage of it, but my conscience won't let me."
"Just think about this." Izuku said.
"I have, okay? Everyone gave their all in Round 2, but I was just someone's puppet. No way. I don't wanna advance if I don't even know how I got here. It wouldn't be fair." Ojiro said.
"You're making way to much of this!" Hagakure said. Freya and the girls looked at Ojiro with concern. "Just kill it in the finals and prove you should be here."
"She's right." Freya said. Ojiro put his hand to his face.
"That's not it. I'm talking about my pride here. I refuse to give that up." Ojiro said. Izuku and Iida gasp. "And also why are all the girls dressed like cheerleaders?" Freya facepalmed.
"Nirengeki Shoda from Class 1-B." Freya saw a short boy with white hair step forward. "I think I should withdraw for the exact same reason. Regardless of how strong I am, this isn't how I wanted to get here. It would go against the values of the festival to advance without earning my spot." Kirishima was in tears.
"Listen to these guys! They're so manly!" Kirishima said.
"That's a weird turn of events." Freya said.
"We'll have to wait to see what Midnight says." Kaminari said. Midnight stood thinking.
"This sort of talk is incredibly naive, my boys." Midnight said. She moves her whip around. "That turns me on! Shoda! Ojiro! You're withdrawn!" Freya had a hand to her face.
'She did not just say that.' Freya thought. Aoyomi put a hand on Ojiro's shoulder.
"Don't worry. I'll win it for you." Aoyomi said.
"Let's see. We will have to move some students up from the fifth-place Cavalry Team, so we have enough contestants." Midnight said.
"We were frozen most of the time. Honestly, we barely did anything in the Cavalry battle. Isn't that, right?" A red hair girl said, looking at her team. The girls nodded. "You should choose from the group that kept fighting through it. Team Tetsuletsu."
"Kendo!" The Silver haired guy said.
"I'm not doing this as a favor. It's just fair." Kendo said.
"Seriously, you guys!" The Silver hair guy said. He broke down into tears. "Thank you!"
"And so, Tetsutesu and Shiozaki had advanced to the final! Take a look at the bracket, my dears! These are your opponents!" The crowd cheers as the names appear on the screen. Tetsutesu and Kirishima were paired up together.
"Seriously!" The two yells.
"How does this keep happening?" Kirishima asked. Tokayami and Yaoyorozu were paired up.
"I'll give it my all." Tokayami said.
"Good. That's all that I ask of you." Yaoyorozu said. Freya and Aoyomi were next to be paired up.
"Ma cherie. I'm afraid it's the end of the road for you." Aoyomi said. Freya rolled her eyes.
"Oh, please. I can't wait to kick your ass." Freya said. Izuku was paired with Shinzo. Todoroki was paired with Sero. Iida was paired with the pink haired girl. Kaminari was paired with the long green haired girl. Bakugo was paired with Uraraka.
"Uraraka? Who the hell's that?" Bakugo asked. Uraraka gasps and Freya elbows Bakugo. "What was that for, Brat?"
"She's in our class. So, stop." Freya said.
"If we both advance there is a chance, we could face each other. I hope your one of my opponents and I hope you don't hold back on me." Bakugo said. Freya smirked.
"Oh, I won't. Long as you don't do the same." Freya said. The screen switches to another screen for the fun rounds.
"Okay. Let's press pause for a momentary interlude! Before the battles begin, it's time for some pulse-pounding side games!" Present Mic said. Freya and the girls joined the cheer squad to cheer on the students. Hagakure jumped in the air with a scream. Freya couldn't help but smile. "First, how about a scavenger hunt?" Students started running around, grabbing cards and calling out for items in the stands. Sero, Sato, Kirishima, and Mineta were joining the Scavenger Hunt. Others that were in the final round had disappeared. Freya and Uraraka were just trying to calm their nerves as they cheered on the students as they played some fun games.
The Finals were about to begin. The girls changed back into their gym uniforms and head up into the stands to sit in the booth. Cementoss was creating a stage for the final round.
"Thank you Cementoss." Present Mic said as Cementoss finishes the stage and walks away. "Hey, sports fans. Are you ready?" Freya sits between Bakugo and Kirishima as the crowd cheers. "After all the action you've already witnessed, it's time for the real battles to begin! Can ya feel the excitement. Our competitors are on their own now! Sometimes, heroes have only themselves to rely on. Heart. Skill. Strength. Wisdom. Courage. They'll have to use all of these things to rise to the top!" Present Mic said.
"Deku better do well in this match. I want to fight either him or Todoroki." Bakugo sat with his arms crossed. Freya shook her head as the final Round of the games were about to begin with it being Izuku vs Shinso.
