Chapter 16

Final Round and Awards Ceremony

Freya sat with Kirishima and Jiro. Mina was on Jiro's other side. The girls were giddy that Freya and Bakugo were now dating. Freya drank her Smoothie as they waited for the final round. Bakugo had pulled her into a hug before he went to wait in the waiting room. Freya smiled. She didn't expect to be asked out after a match and by a guy she had a crush on for a long time, but it made her day.

"I wonder whose gonna win this one." Jiro said.

"We'll see shortly." Freya said. Bakugo stood facing Todoroki. There was a knowing smile plastered on his face.

"He seems happier. Kind of scary." Mina said.

"Hmm. I wonder why." Kaminari said, making Freya blush. The crowd cheers.

"Welcome to the Final Round of the UA High School Sports Festival. In just a moment here, we'll see which first years come out on top! Yes, it all comes down to this, folks! From the hero course, Shoto Todoroki." Present Mic said. The Crowd cheers. "Versus his classmate Katsuki Bakugo!" The crowd cheers. Freya sat with her arms crossed. She was nervous on how this fight was going to end. "Now begin." Todoroki put his hand to the ground and sent a wall of ice at Bakugo.

"Damn it!" Bakugo said, hitting the ice with explosions. The ice surrounds Bakugo.

"Todoroki starts with a crazy ice blast! Bakugo seems to have been completely buried!" Present Mic said.

"It's over?" Tsu said.

"I don't think so." Freya said.

"Is it possible we've already got a winner down there?" Present Mic asked.

"This isn't like when he attacked Sero. The ice just now was more controlled. He's being cautious." Izuku said. Muffled explosions came.

"What's that terrifying sound?" Mineta asked.

"It's gotta be Bakugo's doing." Tsu said. The ice starts cracking as the explosions got closer. A huge explosion breaks through the ice and Freya smiled as Bakugo stood there. He was pissed as Todoroki jumped back.

"He used his explosions to tunnel through the ice like some kinda mole man!" Sero said.

"These two are insane!" Kaminari said. Bakugo grabs the ice and it melts under his hands.

"You've got some pretty powerful attacks." Bakugo said. Todoroki charges at Bakugo and Bakugo uses explosions to move. "But you're a bad aim!" Todoroki reaches for Bakugo and Bakugo moves using an explosion. "Try harder!" Bakugo grabbed Todoroki by the head.

"He dodged his right side with a blast!" Izuku said.

"Awesome!" Uraraka said.

"Are you underestimating me? Idiot!" Bakugo said. He sent Todoroki flying. Todoroki used ice to catch himself before he went out of bounds. He uses ice to move around the stage.

"Todoroki surfs an ice wave to avoid going out of bounds. Looks like fun." Present Mic said. Bakugo dodges some ice and heads at Todoroki with his arm out. Todoroki grabs Bakugo's arm. Todoroki seems to hesitate, before he threw Bakugo across the stage. Bakugo landed in a kneeling position. He glared at Todoroki.

"Stop screwing around." Bakugo said. Freya's eyes widen. He had a crazed look on his face. "What do you think I'm not worthy of your fire?"

"Bakugo timed his explosions and grabbed Todoroki's left side on purpose. He's done his research. His aptitude for this becomes more apparent with every fight." Aizawa said.

"Interesting." Present Mic said. Bakugo was causing explosions with his hands.

"Todoroki's doing well so far, but his attacks are too simple. It almost seems like he lost his spark after the match with Midoriya." Aizawa said. Bakugo's explosions got stronger.

"You bastard! I'll tell you what'll happen if you make a fool outta me. I'll kill you!" Bakugo said. Todoroki gasped. Freya sighed. "I don't want there to be any doubt that I'm the best sudent at the festival. That's only possible if you come at me as hard as you can! There's no point if you don't fight me with the same power you used against Deku. If you don't wanna win this, why are you even here?" Bakugo charges as Todoroki. "Show everyone you're trying to destroy me!" Todoroki just stood there with ice crawling up his body. Freya had a hand to her mouth. She felt bad for Todoroki. Izuku jumped to his feet.

"C'mon, Todoroki! Don't give up! Do your best!" Izuku shouted.

"That stupid nerd!" Bakugo shouted. Bakugo uses an explosion to jump in the air. Todoroki started to steam and the ice started melting. Fire burst from his left side. Bakugo spins using explosions as he nears Todoroki. Todoroki holds up his left hand. Freya jumped to her feet as Todoroki let the fire go out and he lowered his arm.

"Howitzer Impact!" Bakugo yelled. A huge explosion rips through the stage. The ice shatters and air rips through the crowd.

"Bakugo combined speed and rotation with a huge blast like he used against Uraraka. He turned himself into a human missile! Todoroki didn't fire off the flame attack that wowed us in his match with Midoriya! So what has become of our two top competitors?" The smoke cleared and Bakugo was laying on his stomach on the ground and he looked pissed.

'Shit. He now knows Todoroki didn't use his fire.' Freya thought. Todoroki landed out of bounds and was unconsious on the ice. Bakugo got up and limped towards Todoroki.

"Hey." Bakugo said. Bakugo ran towards Todoroki. "HEY!" Bakugo grabbed Todoroki by the shirt. "You stop messing around!" Bakugo was shaking in rage. "This isn't a real win for me unless you try harder! It can't end this way. Now get up!" Midnight used her quirk to knock out Bakugo.

"He's gonna be pissed when he wakes up." Freya said with a sigh. Midnight looks down at Bakugo with disappointment. She lifts her hand up.

"Todoroki is out of bounds. That means Bakugo is the winner!" Midnight said. The crowd cheers.

"I have to get down there. I'm in third place. See you guys soon." Freya said as she headed to get down.

All the first years stood on the field to await the winners. Midnight stood on the field.

"The first year students have completed all of the events for the UA Sports Festival. Now it's time to relax and enjoy the awards ceremony." Midnight announced. The crowd cheers as confetti was blown. A stage was raised and Class 1-As eyes widen as Bakugo was grunting in anger.

"Whoa." Kaminari said.

"What the heck?" Jiro asked. Bakugo was in shackles and a muzzle on his face. Freya was standing on third place podium with her arms crossed, looking anywhere but at Bakugo.

'Don't make me regret saying yes to you. Your embarresing us.' Freya thought.

"He's been going nuts since he woke up." Kirishima said. Bakugo had a murderous look on his face as he glares at Todoroki. "Even Freya can't get him to calm down. Man, Bakugo. Pull yourself together."

"He's acting like a feral animal." Tokoyami said. Bakugo growled.

"I feel sorry for Freya. She said yes to him. She's looking like she's regretting it." Mina said. Freya glared at Mina and Mina gulps. Midnight turns to the reporters.

"Tenya Iida actually shares the third-place award with Aizawa. But, unfortunately, he had to leave for family reasons. Gotta love those familial bonds." Midnight said.

'Really, Midnight.' Freya thought.

"To bad Iida couldn't be here. He was so excited." Tsu said.

"Yeah." Izuku said. Freya looked at Bakugo as he was still throwing the tantrum. There was defiently no calming him down right now. Freya sighed.

"Now, let's break out the hardware. Of course, there's only one person worthy of distributing the awards." Midnight said. All Might rises above the stands, laughing. The crowds cheers got louder. Freya couldn't help but smile. All Might jumps in the air.

"Citizens! I am here with the medals!" All Might said.

"The number 1 Hero!" Midight said as All Might lands on the field. Midnight held the medals. "So, now that you're here, All Might, why don't you start the presentation?" All Might came up to Freya.

"Young Aizawa. Congradulations." All Might said. Freya bowed her head and All Might put the medal around her neck. He gave her a hug."You showed a lot of courage and strength out there. You are defiently your father's daughter and your mother be proud of you. You got a lot to work on but you got a lot of potential." All Might said. Freya smiled at her childhood hero.

"Thank you, sir." Freya said. Freya looked up at where her father sat and he gave her an approving nod. All Might headed over to Todoroki.

"Young Todoroki. Congradulations!" All Might said. He put the medal around Todoroki's neck. "I'm assuming there's a reason you didn't use your left side. Though it cost you the final."

"Midoriya opened your eyes during our match, but then I started to doubt myself. I think I now understand a little about why you're so interested in him. I want to be the kind of hero you are, but my path isn't as clear as I thought it was. I have a lot to think about. And I still need to settle things with someone. Very soon." Todoroki said. All Might nodded.

"I've never seen this sort of look on your face before." All Might said. He hugged Todoroki. "I won't ask for details, but trust yourself. I'm sure you'll work things out."

"Right." Todoroki said. All Might went to Bakugo and Freya had to bite her lip from laughing. Bakugo was glaring at All Might.

"And now, Young Bakugo." All Might said. He stopped at the sight of Bakugo. "This is a little much." Bakugo was shaking with rage as All Might took the mussel off "Well, you did what you said you'd do in the pledge. You're true to your word." Bakugo growled.

"All Might!" Bakugo growled. Freya and Kirishima share looks as Bakugo went into a fit. "Winning first place this way doesn't prove that i'm the best one here! Even if the world thinks I'm the winner, I refuse to accept it like this!" Freya sighed.

"I don't know you, Katsuki. Your acting like an Angry Pomeranian." Freya said. Bakugo glared at her. Freya gave him a look and he quickly turned to look at All Might. Kirishima chuckled.

"In a world where we're constantly being compared to one another. There are very few who can keep their eyes focused on the top spot. You're one of them." All Might said. Bakugo growled and All Might looked worried. All Might held up the medal. "Please accept this medal. Even if you have to think of it as a scar. Something you'll never forget."

"I don't want that piece of garbage!" Bakugo said. All Might fought Bakugo till the medal was hanging from his mouth. The crowd cheers. "Here they are. The winnders of this year's Sport's Festival! But listen closely. Any of you first years could have ended up standing here on these podiums. Think about what you've done today. You've challenged each other, learned, and climbed even closer toward your goals of being pros. I think the next generation of heroes is proving to be our most promising one yet!" All Might said. Freya stood tall as she listened. All Might points up. "So I have one more thing to say. I want to hear everyone yell it with me. You know what it is thanks for you hard work!"

"PLUS ULTRA!" The audinece yelled.

"WHAT! That was the perfect time to say Plus Ultra, All Might!" Students yell as the audience booed.

"Well, yeah, I guess, but everyone did such a good job!" All Might said.

Sun was setting as everyone sat in their classrooms. Bakugo was still shaking and mad.

"Nice work. You have the next two days of school off to recuperate. I'm sure the pros who watched the festival will wanna recruit some of you. We'll look over the draft forms and update you when you return. Get some rest. You still have a lot of training." Aizawa said.

"Yes, sir." Students said. Freya stood up and grabbed her things. Mina and Jiro waited for her at the door.

"He's still fuming. Want to walk with us?" Jiro asked. Freya looked at Bakugo.

"Let's go." Freya said. The girls walked out the door. Freya wanted Bakugo to calm down. She knew he would call her after. The Sports Festival was over and it was time for interships soon.
