Sasuke's

POV

Whilst sitting in the cold sterile room of the Konoha's infirmary Sasuke had a lot to process. But two important questions plagued his mind and that was how he got here and how was he going to get back home.

He had no recollection of the events that had transpired to lead him here, only the distant memory of the sun on his skin and the sound of the rustling of leaves in the tall trees. He knew he had to find his way back, but with no clear path in sight, he felt lost and uncertain of the future.

"I need you to look into my pen light and follow it without turning your head." Sakura's voice was calm and gentle, as she dragged her penlight from left to right, and so Sasuke followed the light with his eyes, focusing on the white, bright beam as it moved slowly across his vision.

It felt strangely calm as if he was in a trance, and he could feel my eyes beginning to grow heavy as he watched the light move in a steady rhythm.

"Can you tell me what all you remember?" She said this while dragging her pen light up and then down. There was a hint of curiosity in her tone.

"I remember you, Naruto, Lee, and sensei Kakashi. I remember just about everybody in this village. I know the three of us were Team 7," he carefully watched her expression as she subconsciously nodded in agreement to his words, but he could tell she was probing him for a specific reason.

"Do you remember anything else?" Her voice emphasized the word else in an almost sing-song fashion, which he instantly picked up on, there was a soft tint to her cheeks and the gnawing on her lower lip. She looked flustered and began to fidget under his stoic gaze.

Just by that tiny display, he knew… He knew what anything else she was referring to.

This epiphany helped him formulate his next question, "Were we a thing?" Judging by her slack jaw expression he knew this to be true, but the other him was married to Naruto right? He had a million questions in his head, but he needed to be cautious when asking her any more questions.

He did not want her to clam up. Plus, he could feel the tension in the air, and he could see the unease in her body language.

He knew he had to tread carefully now, so he slowly asked her, "So... we were a thing, right?" He saw her stiffen and her face flush, confirming his suspicions.

He was taken aback; he knew they had been close, but he had never expected that they had been more than just friends. He was confused; he remembered that the other him was married to this Naruto, but he couldn't understand what problems had occurred in their relationship for the other him to betray their marriage.

He had to ask himself, was the pair's affinity real or just a figment or purely sexual?

"Do you remember us?" She fought the urge to smile which was threatening to slip out at any moment.

"It's kind of a blur… Can you help jog my memory?" He locked eyes with hers again, a façade of confusion and embarrassment appearing across his face.

"Yes, we were a thing it lasted six months until Naruto found out…"

"So is the baby-"

"No, she is Lee's. You've been gone for a year, Sasuke."

He was in shock as he heard the words, his heart raced and his face went pale. He couldn't believe it, even though it wasn't him, it was still hard to hear, dead for a year.

He had no idea how to process the news. He felt a wave of nausea wash over him. He felt like he had been punched in the gut and his lungs felt like they were filled with lead.

Her hands shot up to her mouth, "I didn't mean- I'm sorry. Do you need anything?"

Maybe he could use his… In all the chaos he forgot about his Rinnegan. He shot up from the medical bed making a beeline to the hand washing station. He rushed over to a mirror that's when he saw it, his Rinnegan was gone. Just two wide charcoal-color orbs staring back at him were he in Sasuke's body. That would make sense, the arm, the worms, and now the lack of Rinnegan.

He put his hands on the sink, trying to steady himself. His mind racing as he tried to make sense of the situation. He had no recollection of how he got there, and he had no idea why his Rinnegan was gone. He was filled with confusion and uncertainty, and he felt as if he might just be trapped in someone else's body. He had no idea what was happening, and he didn't know what to do next.

"Is everything alright," he spun around to see Kakashi standing in the doorway a look of concern in those almond shape depths. Quickly, Sasuke regained his composure. His lips pressed as he hid the tension in his jaw.

"There's no decay. It's like I never died." It did not seem as if the same events here had transpired where the other Sasuke got his Rinnegan.

While Kakashi watched his former student he abruptly turned to Sakura. His eyes smiled at her as he spoke his next words.

"Can we have a minute?"

That had been Sakura's cue to leave. She gave a quick bow and then left.

He then turned back to Sasuke once the room was clear. "I know you've lost a lot of your memory, and that fact made me wonder about your current living arrangements. It might be distressing to Menma to see you're back with no recollection of him. It might be for the best if you stay in a separate home for now. I can have a new living arrangement set up for you, but this is entirely your decision."

"I appreciate your concern," Sasuke replied, "but I think it's best if I stay with them. Whatever memories I may have lost, I'm still his father and eventually we are going to have to meet."

His ebony brows furrow the words leaving his mouth without a second thought.

Kakashi eyes soften at his reply. "I'll let Naruto know." he nodded.

There were moments in his life Sasuke thought tough but nothing topped this meeting his adopted son.

He hesitated by the front door unsure if he made the right choice. What if the kid burst into tears and ran away or was horrified? However, It was too late to back out now he was pretty sure Naruto had already talked to him.

So, sucking in a breath he turned the door handle and enter. There was Naruto in the dining room sitting next to him was…

What the hell?

With furrowed brows, he instinctively snapped charcoal pools over to Naruto's amused face. Menma's uncanny appearance left many questions.

There was no denying those bright blue pools and identical whiskers, but he had his hair color, his nose, and his mouth.

Menma was a blend of both of them. How? He expected they had adopted since they were both men, but there was no denying the resemblance. Menma mimicked his stun expression. Intuitively he felt his eyes lock with Naruto's who just grinned at him.

"Dad…" There was uncertainty in the toddler's voice, and then without warning, Menma jumped up running over to him. His little voice cried out, "Dad!" He embraced his legs as he sobbed against him.

"I thought you talked to him," Sasuke said. He was taken aback by the kid's reaction towards him. It was strange hearing himself being referred to as dad.

He was unsure what to do with the sobbing toddler leeching to his legs.

"He's three I think he believed I was telling him you were alive in spirit or somethin'."

"They said you died! and you weren't comin' back!" He began to cry even harder.

Sasuke felt awkward he was a Shinobi no sobbing child should be able to disarm him in such a way. He could tell Naruto was enjoying this. When there was no sign of the child letting go.

He sighed, and very gently placed a hand on Menma's raven locked. "I'm here now." He felt the death grip loosen on his legs as Menma's teary blue eyes looked up at him helplessly.

The toddler reached up to him signaling he wanted to be picked up, at first Sasuke looked at Naruto who just watch him curiously. He lifted the miniature mixture as the toddler circled his arms around the raven's neck and his tiny legs around his torso. Sasuke supported Menma's weight on his arms. The little raven burdened his face on his right shoulder, clinging to him for dear life.

Sasuke knew he wouldn't be releasing him anytime soon. He saw a lot of his life younger self in Menma.

At that age, he would have given everything to have his parents back. Even as an adult the pain remained it was a little duller, as time still raged on.

And now he was the center of this little person's world. Sasuke never believed himself to be father material, and yet the other him had succeeded in that. He created a family that loved him.

He created a home and place to come back to. Sasuke couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy for the other's life. He seemed to have it all so why did the other him turn to Sakura?

As he met Naruto's smiling gaze he felt himself speaking from a place deep within him.

"There's a lot I don't know but I'm willing to try for the both of you."

Just seeing the other Naruto's face light up was rewarding enough. Suddenly, he felt a rush of warmth fill his chest.

"He looks just like the both of us? How?"

"I'm...well about that," he watched as the blonde narrowed his eyes in thought before looking up at the ceiling as he recalled the moment.

"I wanted to play a little joke and have some fun so I surprise you for your 16th birthday by using my Sexy Jutsu form and well nine months later. I was finally able to turn back to normal." There was a reddish hue to his cheeks.

So, the other Naruto carried the baby to full term, giving Menma the Uchiha surname and marrying the other him in the end. Sasuke could not describe the feeling he felt. There were too many emotions, envy, pride, and the undeniable feeling of alarm that he wouldn't mind staying here.

This was a moment that could not be replicated. He felt overwhelmed. This was not his home… but he found himself becoming intoxicated with the idea. He realized he was back in his head.

"Were you afraid?"

"Hell yeah, I was and you were pissed when I said I was going to keep him." The other Naruto's blue eyes drifted to the toddler's back Sasuke couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth as he looked upon the small child, his heart swelling with affection. He had never expected to feel so connected with the boy, but the gentle sound of his breathing and the peacefulness of his slumber had Sasuke feeling a sense of contentment.

"He-I was?"

"Yes, you didn't want him. You said we were too young."

Sasuke wondered if that was the start of the pair's problems. He felt the apology leave his lips.

"Sorry."

"No, it's fine!" Naruto held his hands up.

"Did the child-Menma and I become close later?" The toddler's reaction made him believe he came around eventually.

Naruto smiled, and the warmth of his expression was enough to soften his gaze and relax the muscles on his face. He beckoned Sasuke closer, and he stepped forward, feeling as if the gap between them had suddenly disappeared.

"You were indifferent-like you were afraid to get too close. That was the cause of many arguments."

"I see." So, that was a no, he was still an asshole.

"You can put him in his room." Naruto beckoned him to follow as he carried Menma to his room. Upon entering he had to watch his step for the various toys scattered across his bedroom floor.

He laid the toddler on his full-size futon. Instantly Menma nestled against his pillow before relaxing on his side facing the both of them. He found himself watching the sleeping toddler.

"It's a crazy feeling. I still can't believe I'm a dad and we manage to keep him alive for three years." The other Naruto said his voice brimming with amazement.

This snapped Sasuke from his reverie he jerked his head up at the blonde. If his Rinnegan was truly gone did that mean he was trapped here?

He had hurt too many people in his world, how could he ever make it up to them? He had been so focused on his power and ambition, he had lost sight of what was truly important. Sasuke knew he could not just expect to be forgiven, he had to prove that he had changed.

He tried to make his redemption real. He had no idea what the future held for him now, but he felt a spark of hope. Perhaps this new world could be a fresh start, a chance to become the person he wanted to be. He could finally be free from his past and move forward with a new purpose. What could go wrong?

He could feel the intensity of the moment as he closed the gap between them. His heart raced as he looked into Naruto's eyes, unable to look away. He could almost feel the electricity radiating between them, like a spark that had been ignited.

Now that they were alone, sort to speak, "What now," he grabbed the blonde by his hand dragging him outside Menma's room.

Meanwhile, in Sasuke's world, there was the other version of himself waking up to the sound of rustling leaves above. As the scent of grass filled his nostrils. He was shocked to see his left arm was missing and he was astounded by the new possibilities that were just unlocked to him! However, the only thing on his mind was finding Naruto. Maybe he knew what was going on.

And that will do it for now. The next chapter is going to have many warnings! Lots of craziness is about to happen.
