Chapter 60: Crystal Philter

'Oh this isn't gonna end well.' Kevin thought as Gwen was infuriated, her eyes just pouring out mana as Azmuth had arrived and told them one of Ben's forms was recently damaged and explained that the form had to suffer extreme damage for this to occur.

Azmuth had seen Diagon when George slew him the first time, so there were few things that had the ability to scare him and Gwen Tennyson was slowly reaching that threshold.

"You really have some timing Azmuth." Max said not looking the least bit pleased.

"I come countless lightyears to help you find Ben and I have bad timing?" Azmuth asked him not seeing the issue.

"Azmuth today is Ben and Gwen's birthday." Max said to him as he never missed any of his grandchildren's days of birth or day where Ben and Gwen were concerned 'I hope you're ok Ben.' he thought as hearing Azmuth's news about an Omnitrix form being damage made him feel even more worry to what state they'd find Ben in.

Azmuth felt guilt for adding salt to their wounds for what he had said 'Ben you better be alright, for their sakes.' he thought seeing Gwen sob

Makarov awoke at the bar seeing many passed out members of his guild, he was about to go to his office after grabbing an aspirin and some water when a messenger came in for a special request 'This is odd?' he thought curiously as the messenger gave him a letter and he read it and was surprised by what he read 'This is a top priority mission!' he thought as there was no other way to describe it.

Makarov waited at the train station, awaiting the arrival of a special guest who required his personal attendance.

"Makarov!" a youthful female voice said to him as it approached.

"Vanessa always a pleasure." Makarov said greeting the lovely woman that supported his guild and was a close friend "Oh and I see you brought a guest." he said to her seeing the man beside her.

"Isn't it always, and this is Brennen." Vanessa said with a cheerful smile as both men shook hands "I hear your children have been getting into all sorts of mayhem." she said with a small giggle.

Makarov took that statement in many ways as his children certainly were chaotic.

"And I hear Ben has certainly made his mark, did he truly defeat Gildarts?" Vanessa asked starting off sweet but turned serious in the end.

"Yes, young Ben certainly proved his mettle to face off against him and win." Makarov said as he would not hide his children's accomplishments.

Vanessa was impressed as that was a hard feat as Gildarts was a mage not many would challenge "Speaking of the dashing young man, how goes his blooming romance?" she asked wanting all the juicy details.

Brennen rolled his eyes as Vanessa was a sucker for romance.

Makarov chuckled "I can give you something, that is not even in Sorcerer Weekly." he said as Vanessa stared at him intently wanting to hear secret gossip "My child has become a parent of his own." he said seeing her and Brennen's shock.

"So he knocked up Erza, that boy has drive!" Vanessa said as if he did that, he accomplished much since she last saw him "I mean to pluck Erza's flower, I need to find her, get all the juicy and steamy details." she said as if on a mission herself.

Makarov chuckled and while that would've been an interesting sight too see Vanessa literally question Erza, he'd do her a favor and explain more "No Vanessa, Ben merely adopted a sweet little girl, by the name Wendy Marvel or is it Tennyson now?" he asked wondering if there was now a name change.

Vanessa nodded and smiled brightly "Such a kind young boy, to take in a child, must add to his appeal, it's hard to find a man who'll stick around for their own child let alone take one in on their own." she said much more impressed as this showed character with Ben. It made her happy that there were men like Ben around. She sent a quick glance to Brennen and gained a small blush.

Makarov smiled still very proud of his child for his actions.

"I am actually here to extend an invitation to Ben and as many guests as he'd like to my company." Vanessa said seeing Makarov's surprise "I could use some protection on a certain product I am developing." she said not going into details something Makarov caught onto.

"I'm sure Ben will appreciate the invitation." Makarov said to her as he knew Ben would see the importance of this mission

"So tell me more about Wendy." Vanessa said very interested in Ben's child.

"She is an absolute pleasure, compared to my more… rambunctious children." Makarov said having a noticeable twitch thinking of the destruction some of them caused "Believe it or not she is a Dragon Slayer like Natsu and Gajeel." he said as a Dragon Slayer that didn't commit total destruction was an oddity.

"Oh, interesting." Vanessa said as hearing Makarov gain another Dragon Slayer child seemed impressive "Who knows how powerful she'll be under Ben's guidance." she said off-handedly.

Makarov nodded as Wendy certainly was growing into her own and if he was to compare Wendy to Erza and Mira when they were the Sky Maiden's age the girl would've blown them away easily.

Ben and Wendy were having breakfast, conversing with each other about what jobs they would take today at the guild while Gajeel and Erza were having an argument.

"Care to repeat that again." Erza said her Purgatory Mace aimed toward Gajeel.

"Yeah your cooking sucks!" Gajeel said as he was enjoying eggs Erza made till he found small egg shells in his food, normally he wouldn't care, but if they were in most of the eggs he would complain and he was tired of eating the things Erza said she cooked herself.

Ben and Wendy decided to inhale their food and walk out "Don't fight in the kitchen!" he said as he had too many valuable materials he refused to let go of in there, especially the ones that made his smoothies.

'Cowards.' Gajeel thought to himself as they left him to deal with the monster "I'll spell it out for you red!" he said as this could not go on "YOU CAN'T COOK!" he said loudly "Do you even taste your own cooking?" he asked wondering if her taste buds functioned on anything besides sweets.

Erza rose to the challenge and began to eat some of her own eggs and given what Gajeel said she paid mind to the tiny eggshells in each bite "Fine so I can't cook eggs." she said begrudgingly.

"You can't cook anything!" Gajeel said ducking as she swung her mace "Has anyone ever TAUGHT you?" he asked wondering where she picked up her so-called skills.

"I'm self-taught." Erza said proudly.

"Wow." Gajeel said to her seeing her smile with pride "And here I was thinking you got ripped off or punked." he said to her avoiding another swing.

The two fought as Pantherlily entered 'Brave soul.' he thought to Gajeel as he was right as Erza truly did need work, but her other skills were top of the line as she knew how to cut things perfectly and remove unneeded materials, it's just the part of actually cooking the things she had trouble with as her food varied between raw and overcooked and she wasn't very good at how much ingredients she used or what the exact ingredients were.

"Want a bagel?" Rex asked Pantherlily offering half of his bagel as Rex didn't have a high standard on what he ate.

"Thank you." Pantherlily said in gratitude accepting the treat as they watched Erza and Gajeel bicker.

Ben and Wendy went to the job board.

"Want to go to do something simple with no plagues and terrorists?" Ben asked as they both laughed "C-rank sound good?" he asked as it was a job about collecting herbs and dealing with nearby magical creatures.

"Pardon me Ben, do you have a moment?" Makarov asked Ben curiously.

"Sure master what's up?" Ben asked curiously wondering what the man needed from him.

"You have been called on for a special mission." Makarov said to him.

Ben was curious as to be asked for specifically was rare "Your office?" he asked knowing the master would want to keep this matter private "You wanna come?" he asked Wendy who followed behind them.

They three made it to the office seeing Vanessa and someone they didn't recognize.

"Ben!" Vanessa said pulling him into a hug "And you must Wendy!" she said examining the adorable child "Makarov you did this girl an injustice she is much prettier in person." she said as Wendy blushed at the praise.

"You're not here to send me on another mission with more slam worms are you?" Ben asked her as he didn't want to deal with them again.

"Ben, I'm many things, but not a sadist…most of the time." Vanessa said, sending him a wink, then one to Brennen, making him cock a brow and smirk. "But down to business, I want to invite you to my factory in Honeysuckle." she said explaining she needed some protection for a project she was doing "The reward is 600,000 jewels a head." she said to him.

"You are willing to spend millions of jewels on us?" Ben asked as the price seemed steep.

"I am very rewarding to those that work for me Ben, you know this." Vanessa said as Ben was reminded this woman was as eccentric as she was smart. "Besides, I hire quality people and you seem to share that trait with me." she said to him.

"The mission is simple: Vanessa received some threats from multiple sources which could possibly be our competitors, so we need as much protection as possible." Brennen said explaining the situation.

"Ok." Ben said as the price was alright, but was curious about the threats.

"Excellent! I shall take care of transport and your room and board." Vanessa said to him quickly.

"I'll get my team…you do realize that's like eleven people right?" Ben said as he was counting Rex, Gajeel, and Pantherlily in his math as they were new additions.

"Gotta spend money to make it." Vanessa said, waving it off.

Ben just shrugged his shoulders as he went to go tell the others.

"Over six million jewels she's willing to pay that much for us?" Rex asked Ben as that was a high price.

"That's almost ten months worth of rent for me!" Lucy said as this mission would be an experience and it'd be covered.

"So who is bunking with who?" Rex asked as he assumed the Dragon Slayers were with the Exceeds leaving five people.

"Ben and I shall bunk together." Erza said to them making a claim to share a room with him.

"So that leaves me and Gray." Rex said as since Erza wasn't going to bunk with Lucy that meant she got no partner leaving him with Gray to share.

"Shouldn't be too bad." Gray said to him.

"Dude, put on some clothes." Rex said wondering if he could trade with someone.

"We should all pack for a few days." Erza said thinking this may last about that long given lodging was being provided.

"We'll be leaving in two hours I'll see you at the train station." Vanessa said to them.

"Ben, are you coming?" Erza asked him curiously.

"No I actually have a go bag for things like this, do you mind grabbing it?" Ben asked her getting a nod as he kept it in his closet.

"And mine to please." Wendy said quickly as she picked up on some of Ben's habits as he told her a few tricks to prepare for certain jobs like having a bag full of clothes incase the job was longer than a day.

Vanessa smiled as she sat at the bar with Cana "What's the matter dear you seem upset?" she asked seeing the noticeable frown on Cana and saw she was drinking at a slower pace than usual.

Cana was silent seeing Wendy with Ben and couldn't help but feel envious.

Vanessa caught on quickly "You know my dear, it's a parent's job to love their child unconditionally if they don't then that's when you learn that you failed as a parent." she said quietly "It doesn't matter how strong they are or where they come from, all any child needs is that love." she said as Mira gave her a glass of club soda.

Cana took in her words and was still silent her poker face not slipping.

Vanessa was unsure if she was getting through to the girl but decided to stop, but not before part this "Wendy knows how powerful her father is and is proud of whom she is growing into, you should take a lesson from her and do the same." she said as she was off to find Gildarts.

"You want me to what?" Ben asked as they arrived outside the train station, but Vanessa informed them she didn't buy the tickets.

"Great, a cheap rich woman perfect." Gajeel said before his face was stuck with a familiar Iron Club "When did you touch me!" he shouted from the floor remembering this woman's magic.

"I collected a few tricks Gajeel." Vanessa said with a smile knowing when to show her cards "Ben I heard Laserscale went through a make over, why not fly to Honeysuckle in style." she said to him flashing her eyelashes at him.

Some winced when they heard Laserscale's makeover, but did agree flying on him sounded fun.

Ben nodded as they went to a more spacious area and he transformed "Laserscale!" he said lowering his wings and letting them climb aboard.

Erza, Wendy, Natsu, and Gajeel went to the front wanting to see a lot while everyone else was scattered on his back.

Vanessa was, even more, marveled than before at his form as he looked even more like a dragon 'And he has magic power.' she thought neutrally as they soared through the sky.

Erza watched Wendy and couldn't help but smile at how adorable she looked on Laserscale's head acting her age as she fell asleep feeling comfort in this unique position and she saw Natsu and Gajeel having a similar peace of mind on their faces, she gently rubbed Laserscale's neck.

"Why is the air so sweet?" Natsu asked as he could practically taste it in the air.

Gajeel noticed to it was an aroma of sweetness 'Lavender, honey, cinnamon, and whatever else.' he thought as all the smells elegantly combined into one.

"One of Honeysuckle's main perks is the clean and sweet air, my company may be famous here, but there are many things about this town you can't help but love." Vanessa said as they all climbed off Laserscale.

Laserscale with his enhanced senses smelled the entirety of the land smelling each scent as Gajeel did 'Wendy is gonna love this place.' he thought seeing Erza carrying the bluenette as she was smiling and eating the air as she slept looking adorable.

The group walked to Honeysuckle as they landed a good few minutes outside the town not wanting Laserscale to cause a panic and upon arrival, they were all reminded of Magnolia.

"Just love the charm of towns like these." Vanessa said with a smile as they walked and were greeted by everyone, especially Vanessa as she seemed very popular here.

"Welcome to Crystal Philter everyone." Vanessa said showing them a large building in the center of town "Your lodging is over there, the Crystal Cavern." she said pointing to the inn literally across the way "We'll have the tour later on, but settle and try not to wander too far." she said as she went inside her building with Brennen following her lead.

They all went inside to settle into their rooms.

"Hey does something seem off to you?" Ben asked Erza curiously.

"Why, is something the matter?" Erza asked him curiously.

"I'm positive I felt Vanessa copy Laserscale's magic when we were flying here." Ben said to her as he knew of her Mimic Magic "She met with people before leaving and last minute decides to want to ride a magical creature." he said as they saw her leave Gildarts place as they walked to the train station "I just feel an odd feeling that she copied our magic for some reason." he said to her.

Erza had to admit that mimicking Laserscale and possibly Gildarts was suspicious as those two were powerhouses in offensive magic "She may be seeking protection for herself, she hired us so maybe she wants an extra means of protection." she said as there wasn't evidence to point to the contrary.

Ben had to admit that was another reason why she could've done it 'But to hire all of us, what does she think might happen?' he thought in wonder as their numbers alone just screamed overkill "I'll take a look around, I'll be back in an hour." he said as he felt that would be enough time.

Ben walked out his room and saw Gajeel waiting for him.

"I don't like this place." Gajeel said not beating around the bush.

"Glad I'm not the only one so what's got you on edge?" Ben asked him wondering what put him in this state.

"This place is to clean, no dirty streets, no dark alleys, no hidden illegal anything." Gajeel said as everything seemed on the up and up.

"Hate to ask this, but isn't Magnolia the same?" Ben asked not wanting to know any darker things about his town.

"Our town has an unofficial bar that's it, but it proves my point, nothing is always what it seems to be." Gajeel said as they walked out the inn and saw may people going about their day, both men took the first alley they found and walked down a few more.

"Ok graffiti finally, bad graffiti, but still." Gajeel said seeing a wild animal on the old building.

"What is that a ferret?" Ben asked seeing the animal had rabbies.

"Looks more like a possum to me." Gajeel said to him "We must have hit the young blood part of town teens looking to be amateur rebels." he said as this was just a waste of time.

Unknown to both of them they were being watched from a window inside a building with the grafitti.

"Was that who I think it was?"

"Ben Tennyson, this job just got a lot more interesting."

Two men from inside the building said as they left.

"Tennyson is here are you joking me!?" Hex said in anger as he was informed by his pawns that the biggest annoyance of his entire life was here in town "How is it, that boy is always constantly finding new ways to get in my way!" he said angrily as Ben being here made his plans even more 'Does he know I am here?' he thought as he meant for the death of those idiots he hired to steal the princess to dissuade him as Tennyson did not gamble lives, that's what made the boy somewhat predictable as he'd never endanger lives of innocents or even criminals.

"Listen we need help, we've fought Tennyson and that was when the odds were in our favor and he was left defenseless." the first man said to him "From what I've been hearing he's been getting stronger and stronger, we can't take him on with just the two of us." he said looking at his brother nodding in agreement.

Hex hated it when hired help complained, but he especially hated it when they were right to do so and their complaints were warranted "I need to make a few arrangements." he said as he disappeared.

…

"So we're taking shifts?" Lucy asked Ben curiously as they were having a small meeting which she stumbled into as Ben, Erza, Rex, and Gajeel were discussing how to properly watch Vanessa's business.

"Yeah half of us will take the first watch and the other half will look around town." Erza said as with so many of them it wasn't a bad idea and if they were widespread all they'd need to do was go to the center of town and the night shifts would be handled by two members and switch out every three hours.

"It's not a bad idea I mean the Dragon Slayers and their partners can be the first group." Rex said as the Dragon Slayers were paired with Exceeds so they all made half the group.

"Can I ask why the need for so much security?" Lucy asked them curiously.

"Vanessa's factory is a powerful place it does a lot which upsets many people, you can get just about anything from Vanessa and her company, it is one of the reasons she is so rich." Erza said as Vanessa had quality and diversity in the products she sold.

"Makes me curious as to what she has that she'd blow over six million jewels." Ben said as he still couldn't think of a reason.

"What if we're not protecting product, but her?" Rex asked them.

Erza had to admit that made more sense given how much she spent on them "But why not just ask Fairy Tail, we would've found out in the end?" she asked as protection missions often revealed the reason why someone wanted protection.

"This lady has a spotless record if she made anything under the table I haven't found it." Gajeel said as he asked around to poor idiots who would spill their guts for money and so far nothing.

"We have a tour in a few minutes we'll see everything in the open." Ben said to them.

They went and got the others and soon saw Vanessa with a familiar face standing outside the estare.

"Brennen right?" Ben asked the blonde-haired man wanting to make sure he got his name right as they didn't talk much at the guild.

"That's right. Brennen Kings." Brennen said to him with a small smile "You'll be getting a grand tour of our lovely facilities, I believe some of you have expressed more desires in other areas?" he asked suggestively.

Erza, Pantherlily, Rex, and Gajeel were curious about the Weapons District for obvious reasons.

Wendy, Lucy, Carla, and Happy were going to the Lacrima district to see new accessories.

Ben, Natsu, and Gray were going to the Chemical District.

"I'll be taking Erza's group, Brennen will take Wendy's, Ben can I trust you can keep these two from being themselves." Vanessa said sending them a knowing look.

Ben and Erza also gave them looks that said to behave or there would be consequences.

Both men nodded as even they knew it would be a bad idea to mess around here and fighting was not an option as the master would skin them alive himself.

Wendy was amazed by all the jewelry and accessories, the Lacrima District made as she saw multipurpose tools and elegant fashion accessories and clothing as was Lucy thinking of the outfits she could buy with her reward money.

Carla was looking at the accessories not seeing much fashion made for someone of her size and character, she was mainly looking at ribbons and other small jewelry.

Happy was a little bored feeling out of his element as he only came here to be with Carla.

"Not into fashion huh?" Brennen asked Happy seeing the bored to tears look.

"Nah I'm just here for the love of my life." Happy said as he gushed for Carla.

Brennen smiled as he pets Happy "It's nice falling in love isn't it?" he asked getting a nod from the cat "Don't let that feeling go Happy, not for anything." he said feeling slightly envious of the cat for being so bold or rather unashamed to say how he felt "You know we have some old fishing gear in storage, still top of the line, but I don't think Vanessa would mind if you had it." he said petting the little cat who was drooling in the thought of all the fish Natsu could get him with better materials than a stick and a line.

"So why'd you drag us here?" Gray asked as he and Natsu had nothing better to do as they held no particular interest in any of Vanessa's Chemical District.

"It was the only place none of us had an interest in." Ben said as it was also where Vanessa did most of her work if not all as it was the center of her estate 'And the last mission she had us do was going to this place.' he thought as the mission he and Natsu went on to collect herbs went directly to this District to be processed.

They looked around not seeing or smelling anything out of the ordinary.

'Sucks I can't transform.' Ben thought as there were many workers here and he had zero clue what chemicals these people were using or what they were making, they went up and around not seeing anything that didn't seem legit.

"And how are my weapons?" Vanessa asked seeing each member of the group drool at her weapons, especially Gajeel who everyone heard his stomach growling "Don't eat my product these weapons are more than you can afford." she said to him as it was true as many of her weapons were specially crafted as they were all ordered from individual people all unique.

Erza saw them all and not just their beauty, but the power each seemed to possess individually.

"Erza as I am sure you are living your wet dream of being surrounded by my weapons, I do have your order right here." Vanessa said handing Erza a wrapped sword.

"What kind of blade did you order?" Pantherlily asked wondering if it had armor to go with it.

"How much did that thing cost?" Rex asked Vanessa wondering what Erza paid.

"Three million jewels." Vanessa said to them seeing the look of shock on their faces.

"The hell kinda sword costs that much!?" Gajeel said in pure surprise and shock.

"A gift for Ben." Erza said simply as she had this special ordered from Vanessa some time ago and it was made to help Ben.

"Man Ben is so screwed when it comes to shopping for her gift." Rex said as three million was a lot for a gift "Late birthday present?" she asked her.

"No, I order this a while back I was thinking about getting it for myself, but Ben would do more with it." Erza said as this blade was a testament to her feelings for Ben and something to keep him safe.

"Erza usually orders blades from me, the one always at her side isn't for decoration." Vanessa said pointing to the sword resting at Erza's hip "I make her default blade, some of my best materials, I give Erza a discount as she supplies me with some of her trophies materials from creatures she destroys." she said as she and Erza had an agreement that she would get materials for certain beasts she had slain and she would provide her with discounts.

"And that still cost three million?" Rex asked looking at the wrapped blade.

"Kid I made this blade with Brennen's help, it has a crazy number of enchantments, honestly there is no other blade like it this it is easily worth ten times more than what I sold to her." Vanessa said as this sword was a masterpiece all the pieces she used were pure and had no imperfections to them and her enchantments were flawless with no errors, she could honestly say this sword was her and Brennen's best work and they could never remake this or go through the grieving process it took again.

Everyone stared at the wrapped blade in shock at its true worth.

The groups all converged after their separate tours meeting at the center of the estate.

Ben was taking in the area and spotted something "Hey Brennen, what is that?" he asked pointing to a tree he almost mistook for a stone statue.

"Oh that's one of the oldest trees in Honeysuckle, predates the town." Brennen said to him "Vanessa really loves to look at that thing let me tell ya." he said to him.

"I love my history." Vanessa said in her own defense.

Ben stared at the tree and felt something was familiar about it, but it wasn't the tree itself merely…something in it 'Let me give this a try.' he thought as his mana abilities were still amateurish at best despite his power, he focused his mana not materializing it, but his eyes glowed pink 'Damn.' he thought having no clue what he was doing but still had the odd sense he knew what the tree once held.

Vanessa was not where she was because she was as easygoing as her personality portrayed, she saw Ben's eyes glow pink and saw how his gaze was on her tree, she also knew he had a searching look in his eyes when he was looking around 'You sure know how to pick them Erza.' she thought impressed by Erza's choice in partner.

"So did you find anything?" Erza asked seeing him shake his head "That's a good thing isn't it?" she asked him as Ben's deductive and intuitive skills made her own seem laughable as he had a sixth sense for danger and his intuition was very spot on.

"I just feel we're missing something and I can't help but think it's obvious." Ben said to her as he felt that there were.

"What are you going to do?" Erza asked him knowing he could be as brazen as Natsu sometimes.

Ben answered her by activating the Omnitrix and slammed the dial down "Nanomech!" a high-pitched voice said "I'm gonna go see if I can find anything." he said flying off.

'At least he's stealthy.' Erza thought as while as brazen as Natsu Ben was less obvious.

Nanomech revisited the individual districts finding nothing in the building 'Wish I could turn into XLR8.' he thought as there were guards everywhere and to further the difficulty there seemed to be lacrima sensors on the ground and buildings, given his size he was undetectable and if not he could become smaller.

An hour went by as Nanomech felt he was wasting his time doing this, before deciding to go to Vanessa's residency on the estate, he saw no lights were on and flew inside through a crack in the wall.

Nanomech found Vanessa's office, he entered it and transformed back into himself 'People don't hide things with security.' he thought to himself as people usually hid something important someplace they felt was safest like he did with the Omnitrix in his room when he took it off for a few years, he looked for something meaningful and found a picture of Vanessa and Brennen 'And people say I'm blind.' he thought as people said he was blind to the obvious, he saw a small wooden box and opened it seeing Vanessa's own products in it 'This one is unlabeled.' he thought seeing a vial with no label, the liquid was crystal clear as if it were water.

Ben felt it when he picked it up that the contents in the vial was powerful "This isn't ethernano." he said as after absorbing it from the ocean as Ultimate Chromastone, he knew what ethernano water felt like.

"I coulda told you that." Vanessa said appearing in her office making Ben jump back letting go of the vial and Vanessa using very quick reflexes caught it.

Ben readied the Omnitrix.

"Put that away Ben, I'm not going to fight you." Vanessa said sitting at her desk "Also your Omnitrix is low on power anyway." she said to him seeing his surprise.

"Ok, you know way more than you let on, who are you really?" Ben asked her sitting in the opposing chair from her.

"You know there are pros and cons to my Mimic Magic when I use it my abilities can be stronger or weaker depending on certain factors." Vanessa said pulling out two glasses and pulled out a bottle of wine and pouring into them "Warren for instance could really brush up on his own magic, the guy is smart, but he doesn't really exercise his brain for his own magic." she said to him.

Ben was catching on bit by bit "You copied Warren's power before leaving the guild." he said to her.

"Yep." Vanessa said downing one of the glasses "But I learned more about you sooner than that, before leaving the guild I mimicked his magic then as well and did a deep dive when I tried to mimic you." she said to him "Didn't work your mind was too protected and you were on guard." she said to him.

Ben felt a bit flattered at that remark "But you got in somehow." he said knowing she had to.

"No, I got into your team's minds." Vanessa said to him "The Entrampment alone revealed much about you." she said to him seeing him flinch at the mention of the spell "Ben do you know why I really hired you?" she asked him curiously.

"No." Ben said in admittance as it was really anyone's guess.

"Because I need protection from Hex." Vanessa said learning from his team's minds that the man she referred to as Mr. Six was named Hex "You've beaten him as a child and won." she said as the fact he beat him made him worth all she was spending on him.

"Hex doesn't just go after people, you have something he wants." Ben said as that was the only reason Hex ever did anything he wanted power.

Vanessa sighed as she used requip and made a leather journal appear.

"Whose magic did you mimic if you don't mind me asking?" Ben asked her curiously.

"Laserscale, Gajeel, Gildarts, Erza, Warren, and Wendy." Vanessa said seeing him glare at her at the mention of Wendy 'That little girl will have a hard time finding a boyfriend.' she thought offhandedly as Ben was very protective it seemed.

"What is with this journal." Ben asked her deciding to put his annoyance on hold and noted all her powers seemed to focus on offense and defense.

"Magical research, I made a deal with Hex a while back, when I hired you." Vanessa said to him.

"I was working for Hex!" Ben said in outrage as helping Hex didn't sit well with him "Why help him, you know what he's done, what does he have on you!" he said demanding to know.

"...My life." Vanessa said as Ben paused "Ben, I'm old." she said chuckling a little saying that as she let out a few tears "Hex gave me water from the Fountain of Youth after the water dried up here a long time ago." she said to him in admittance.

Ben's eyes widened in realization "How old are you?" he asked knowing the question was rather impolite, but given the circumstances.

"As old as Makarov himself." Vanessa said as she stopped keeping track from a certain point "I've rationed the water to keep me like this." she said as she cupped her face.

"But what Hex gave you wasn't enough." Ben said as he was surprised he could give her anything after he literally set the fountain ablaze.

"No." Vanessa said to him "He wanted more than what I had you retrieve for him, he wants my notes on magic I have copied, he believes it will help his own powers." she said as she was a self-study and often tried to learn about the magic she mimicked.

Ben saw that there were new dangers present "Why not burn the book?" he asked her wondering why something so dangerous like this was still around if she knew Hex wanted it.

"It's basically the foundation of my company, I hire much talent Ben, but I have used my own notes and discoveries to make a profit and without this book, many will lose their jobs and lives, it is because of me that so many people can get hurt if this ends up in Hex's hands." Vanessa said in admittance.

Ben saw the dilemma now "Do you know for sure he is coming?" he asked her.

"He killed one of my guards and said I had a week to give into his demands, tonight is the final night of his ultimatum." Vanessa said to him.

Ben sighed as this was gonna suck "You won't die, just so you know." he said to her.

"What?" Vanessa asked him in surprise.

"The water from the fountain, it's both a lie and truth." Ben said to her "I drank its water once." he said as drank was a bit of a stretch "And I returned to my natural age, but it varied on others." he said to her "Hex and my grandfather regained a few years when drinking from it." he said as Hex looked terrible before drinking from the fountain and last he saw him, he was looking like he'd be that way in a few more years "And the man that stood guard of it aged to forty despite being four hundred years old." he said as he, Gwen, and grandpa Max got a postcard from Hector every once in a while.

"So, I'm not gonna die?" Vanessa asked him feeling a tremendous weight off her shoulders.

"No, but do me a favor, never betray my guild again and if you use me or anyone I know, you'll wish we never met." Ben said giving her a very true threat.

Vanessa was impressed as he actually made her feel fear, something not many could claim "I won't you have my word." she said to him making a silent vow "So how much do you think I'll age?" she asked him curiously as in his explanation it seemed one could gain a few years if taking it excessively.

"You look like you're in your mid-twenties, I give it somewhere to a decade." Ben said to her as he was being nice and truthful as Hector was four hundred and aged two decades.

Vanessa pulled out a pocket mirror and examined her face "Really hope I don't gain to many wrinkles." she said to him.

"You should get rid of the water." Ben said to her "Keeping it around, you can't escape death Vanessa, we're born, we age, we die." he said as that was life pure and simple.

Vanessa nodded as she stared at the vial of water as Ben left.

Hex was in an open clearing waiting for additional forces he hired, he did some digging into Ben's hired help, but took a particular interest in his girlfriend Erza Scarlet 'I need her to die.' he thought as he needed to do it in an indirect manor as he needed someone else to do it as Ben would lose all reason to go after him and hunt down the person who killed her, after some digging he found the perfect person or rather group.

Three figures in robes appeared, the leading figure a woman by her bodily shape stepped forward.

"Are you Hex?" the woman asked getting a nod "You went through much to hire my group, tell us why?" she asked him wondering why them specifically.

"Because you have a history with the group I need taken care of Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster, and Lucy Heartfilia." Hex said seeing their surprise as they took off their robes.

"My my, such an appealing offer, vengeance on the ones who defeated us." the woman said with a smile "Death's Head Caucus accepts your request Hex." she said as he smiled at them.

Hex was happy as he learned this particular group lost to key members of Ben's group and to give them targets based on their vengeance would cement their motivation to kill them 'Still even with myself I am outnumbered.' he thought to himself as his group consisted of six if he included himself and Ben's was made of eleven, he needed a few more hands, he looked to a certain member of the group and gained an idea.

"So that woman is as old as the master?" Gajeel asked as Ben filled them in on last night.

"Van Kleiss was sorta the same when I first met him, he was dependant on nanites for his survival." Rex said to them as Vanessa did it for less greedy reasons but still.

Erza was having a tough time swallowing this pill as Vanessa was a person of importance to the guild, to hear she worked with someone like Hex was a bit hard to comprehend.

"So what are you gonna do, she admitted to working with Hex to you?" Gajeel asked as if anyone on the planet had a right to hate her knowing that information it was Ben as she used him to help the man who killed a thousand people.

"Nothing." Ben said getting some looks of surprise "She was afraid of dying and what she did while deplorable wasn't actually a crime." he said as there was little that could've been done and it wouldn't have done any good.

"So Hex is coming for her today right?" Gajeel asked as people lived up to threats and given this man has committed mass murder he wouldn't expect anything less.

"Yeah so everyone be on guard." Ben said as this was an opportunity he wasn't going to waste.

"I'll go solo, we have an uneven amount of people, plus I can do things better by myself." Gajeel said telling Ben to look after Lily for him.

Gajeel looked around town trying to pick up any new scents 'I swear never thought I'd complain about something pleasant.' he thought as the sweet air was blocking him from sniffing out any bad scents that'd normally set him off, but as he walked around he heard something 'Is that?' he thought in wonder as he ran in the direction of the sound going to the edge of town.

There stood a man playing what Gajeel could only describe as a sweet looking guitar "Nice man, you take requests and where'd you get that guitar?" he asked as it looked pretty cool to him as while he was a rock man, metal was ok in his opinion.

The man merely smiled at the compliment "I made this myself friend." he said as he smiled seeing the impressed look Gajeel had "And I don't take requests, but I am not impartial, TO DUETS!" he yelled as he began playing and purple whisps of magic flew at Gajeel.

"What the hell-!" Gajeel yelled out as the whisps got him and he glowed.

Hex soon began to walk out and smile as the odds were getting more and more in his favor "Well done, without his lap dog Tennyson is much more vulnerable." he said as he saw Gajeel as a useful pawn as he had information and power he could use against Ben.

The light around Gajeel died down and in his place was something people who knew him would expect and might have expected him to do it to himself, but it was no longer Gajeel that stood there.

Rex was walking around town with Pantherlily as the two decided to partner up in search for Hex.

"What are those people wearing?" Pantherlily said seeing some people wear wooden sandals.

"Those are geisha, they're wooden sandals." Rex said as he was reminded of his time in Hong Kong 'Actually come to think of it Earthland has a lot of multicultural places.' he thought reminded of earth 'But this is mostly asian culture.' he thought seeing tea shops, ramen stands, and a sushi spot, he saw Pantherlily marvel at the sushi stand seeing the chef slice and dice with such precision and elegance "Wanna grab a bite?" he asked as they were walking aimlessly.

Pantherlily nodded as they went inside.

Rex smiled being reminded of his roots or what he considered his roots in his early life, he saw someone sit next to them and seeing as his partner was watching the chef cook he had no conversation "Hi, I'm Rex." he said introducing himself to the elegantly dressed woman.

"My a man with manors, you rarely see many of those nowadays." the woman said to him "Call me Canary." she said introducing herself to him.

Rex felt like he was extremely out of his league as the woman carried herself with elegance and beauty.

'Canary' had to admit this young man seemed very charming despite a few character traits, but she noticed some of his more defining characteristics, he was a warrior and builder as his gloves had much wear and tear and seemed to fit in his hands so perfectly.

Pantherlily was now eating his food, but noticed the woman Rex was talking to and something about her made him feel concerned 'She's carrying a katana.' he thought seeing the sword was on her left side 'That elegance is discipline.' he thought as warriors tried not to waste movements especially those taught in the ways of the samurai.

Wendy was with Natsu and Erza and she felt there was something off with the air as while she wouldn't claim to be the best tracker of the Dragon Slayers, she could smell and taste the differences in the air 'It smells like fuel.' she thought wondering if Natsu noticed as she could smell exhaust and something burning in the air itself.

Erza felt odd "Natsu, look over there." she said seeing many birds.

Natsu saw the birds and looked around seeing them stare back at them "This feels kinda creepy." he said to her.

"Do you guys notice something?" Wendy asked seeing the different types of birds all around them "All these birds are nocturnal." she said as she often liked to look at the sky and look at birds as her adoptive mother was bird like in nature, so day or night she looked to the sky and saw many species of birds.

Natsu had to admit she was right as Lisanna had many take overs a lot revolving around birds and Lisanna was not one to shy.

"What is upsetting their nature?" Erza asked as animals that defied their own sleeping habit nature seemed like a cause to be concerned about.

"Erza!" Happy said flying to her quickly "I can't find Carla, she disappeared on me!" he said to her as Carla and he were air support flying over town.

Erza was slightly concerned as Carla was usually on task, to disappear like this was not in her character.

"Erza can you hear me?" Ben asked over Erza's badge "Is Gray with you, he was supposed to switch out with me a few minutes ago." he said to her as he was currently with Vanessa.

"No and Carla is missing." Erza said not liking this.

"I swear this is crap!" Gray said in a tight space with Carla.

"We need to get out of here." Carla said in annoyance.

"We need someone to do it from the outside." Gray said as the irony of this situation was not lost on him.

"I still can not believe this had happened period!" Carla said as to go out like this was humiliating.

"I swear Natsu needs to cook this damn bird for good!" Gray said in annoyance 'I can't believe these clowns are back!' he thought thinking him and his friends were done with them.

'Hex is making his move.' Ben thought as pieces were being taken off the board as he couldn't reach Gajeel 'Gajeel, Gray, Carla.' he thought listing the people that were known to be gone.

"He has taken a third of your team." Vanessa said feeling slight worry.

"He's making a point." Ben said as he was guessing what Hex was planning.

"So you have been learning from that rambunctious annoying ignorant child you were." Hex said appearing in the room "But you still have that foolish bravado, tell me is it courage or fear that compels you?" he asked as while he hated Ben, he reminded him of his brother when he was still in Ledgerdomain fighting Addwaitya, he hated the self righteousness both possessed.

"No idea, maybe kicking your ass." Ben said to him "He's not here to fight, not yet." he said to Vanessa "He wants to see how I'll move." he said to her "You picked off my friends, to force me to choose between her and them." he said seeing Hex's game.

"And your friends will be returned and you can save the rest of them, my hired help has them all within their sights." Hex said to him.

Ben just glared at him "Let me give you a word of advice Hex, you use pawns, while I use actual players." he said knowing how Hex operated knowing he used people not caring about their true quality.

Hex merely chuckled "And it's that quality that will be used against them, aren't you curious to what I did to them?" he asked him feiging ignorance.

Ben glared at him "Guys if you see Gajeel, Carla, or Gray be careful do you hear me?" he asked taking out his plumber badge and made the digital map appear and saw one of them was missing.

Rex's plumber badge laid in a garbage can with a small knife going through the center sparking a bit.

"It is always nice to see such a strong appetite." 'Canary' said to him as she and Rex made a few more orders.

Rex chuckled "I love to eat." he said to her as this was nice.

Pantherlily decided he had enough and let Rex have his alone time with the woman, he left and went outside and began walking.

"So I have to ask, is Canary your real name?" Rex asked curiously "Sorry it's just that I've met my share of real and fake names." he said to her as he knew people who used names to hide.

"It's more of a nickname." 'Canary' said with a smile "My real name is often a mouthful and others find it difficult to pronounce sometimes." she said as she rolled her eyes recalling how some failed to say her name.

"Well don't leave me in suspense." Rex said to her wondering what her name was.

"My name is Ikaruga." Ikaruga said with a smile.

"Gray." Wendy said looking around as the air was getting cold and while winter was approaching the sudden draft of coldness seemed to much.

Erza felt it as well as if felt familiar to Gray, but different.

"This scent." Natsu said as he took a deep breath and looked around the corner "Come on out, I know you're there!" he called out.

They all saw a giant figure come out from around the corner.

"An owl?" Wendy asked seeing a man as big as Elfman, but had an owl head.

"Justice will happen this day Natsu Dragneel." Fukuro said as wings popped out his back and the ground froze beneath him.

"He ate Gray and Carla!" Natsu said remembering who this guy was.

Erza was disgusted by that as to eat a person was a truly horrific act "Ben, we have an issue Trinity Raven is here and Fukuro one of their members ate Gray and Carla." she said over the line using her badge.

"Of course, he hires assassins." Ben said still having his little competition with Hex if he was staying or going.

"You choose hero boy, the lives of the many or the life of the one." Hex said with a smirk.

"Guys, I need help!" Lucy said over the plumber badge line "It's Gajeel something is wrong with-" she was saying before her line went dead.

Ben growled in anger as Hex smiled even more "Erza can you hear me I have a plan, but I need you to listen close." he said to her "I need you to find Rex, he's not answering." he said as Rex was not someone who'd go down easy and Pantherlily was with him "Natsu can you take care of owl face?" he asked as if the man ate Carla and Gray even weakened he'd be an issue.

"You bet!" Natsu said in assurance.

"What about me dad?" Wendy said before blushing as she realized what she said.

"Go help Lucy if Gajeel is under control." Ben said to her.

"You're a father?" Hex said in surprise wondering how that was even possible.

"Yep and that's not the only surprise I have." Ben said as his eyes turned pink and his skin turned purple, the white of his jacket becoming purple, and his shirt disappeared and his pants became black shorts "Surprise, Silicis miles suscitatio!" he shouted as half a dozen rock monsters were summoned and attacked Hex.

"You can use magic, you can use spells, you can use one of my spell!?" Hex asked question after question as he blasted the rock creatures.

"My daughter bribed Brain or Zero or whichever for spells in payment of healing." Ben said as while he was still not proud that she did that, he was proud she was smart enough to not leave empty handed they learned and practiced the spells together, he practiced this one most as is offered him more numbers.

Hex glared at him in response "What are you?" he asked him still seeing the Omnitrix on his wrist.

"Something you can never be." Ben said raising his hand and blasted Hex "This may seem counter productive, but can you help Erza?" he said as it was something to ask help of the person they were hired to protect.

"Don't blow up my office." Vanessa said as she vanished.

Ben chuckled as he powered down not trusting himself to stay that way for long, he dialed in an alien "Chroma-Are you kidding me!" he said in a raspy voice as instead of Chromastone he got Ghostfreak "Maybe I can work with this." he said as he vanished.

Hex picked himself up from the ruble "Of all the incompetent souls in this universe, Ben Tennyson had to gain mana!" he said feeling insulted Ben could even weild a spell of his.

"Oh don't worry Hex, I won't be using mana for this." Ghostfreak's voice said sounding as if he was in all directions "It's kinda funny knowing you more in depth." he said to him.

"What are you talking about boy." Hex said trying to find him.

"You murdered thousands for a portal and you are portalling through dimensions like you didn't commit an atrocity!" Ghostfreak hissed out in anger.

"Their lives had little meaning, they gained meaning when I made use of them!" Hex said challenging him to come and face him.

"Spellbinder thought differently." Ghostfreak said not giving him the chance to bait him into attacking "Your own brother was scared for his daughter because he knew you were a monster, he knew what you had done and in his final moments he saw you as a monster WORSE THAN ADDWAITYA!" he said loudly for Hex to hear.

Hex was breathing heavily as he never hated Ghostfreak's or Ben's voice more than he did now 'How does he know!' he thought in anger as it wasn't possible as he didn't understand how Tennyson could know his brother's name or what his brother knew.

"Admit it Hex, you became as bad Addwaitya because you and him are one in the same only difference is magic changed him, you chose to be a monster." Ghostfreak said as Addwaitya was under the effects of Nirvana so his choice was taken, it didn't make him innocent as he still had that inside of him and committed countless atrocities, but it still offered up perspective.

"Silence!" Hex said blasting in all directions from his staff.

"Gajeel." Wendy said as she saw her fellow Dragon Slayer, he was pale white, his hair looking more spikey and wild than normal, he was wearing a silver unbuttoned suit vest, black leather pants, skull bracelets made of blackish silver, and on his neck was a metal studded leather choker.

"Oh man it's just the squirt, groupie get rid of her, I have business with the blonde!" Vidaldus said looking to Lucy who was sporting a few bruises.

"Choke on my metal brat!" Gajeel said as he extended his club at her.

"Wendy!" Lucy shouted not sure if Wendy could take on Gajeel under Vidaldus' Rock of Succubus spell.

Wendy blocked the club, but still felt the full force 'I'll never beat Gajeel in hand to hand.' she thought to herself as she knew Gajeel was tough even on his worst day.

"I have serious issues." Rex said as he had a sword aimed at his neck "I swear why is it I am attracted to women who try to kill me?" he asked curiously as Circe tried to kill him, Holiday's sister when she was EVO, and most of all Annie he went on a few dates with her somehow surviving, but this was a new one 'I swear I wonder if Six ever dealt with this kinda crazy, Bobo maybe.' he thought to himself.

"You're very calm for a man who might die." Ikaruga said to him impressed as she watched his breathing and it didn't even rise.

"I have had way to many girls try to kill me and even some family." Rex said as Six when he lost his memories said something similar when they fought and his own brother shot at him with a blaster while pretending to be undercover for Black Knight.

Ikaruga had to give him credit as he was brave.

"So you're working for Hex right?" Rex asked her curiously "This isn't some random thing I got sucked up in?" he asked as the odds of that were pretty high for him.

"No, my duty was to take out some of the group Ben Tennyson was part of, your cat friend was so entrapped by the chef, he failed to see me slip something in his tea." Ikaruga said as it was a simple paralytic .

"So what are you gonna kill me?" Rex asked placing his hands in a non threatening manner, but in truth he was angaling his hands to create the proper build he was going to use as after using his machines for so long he has always known how they would form and in what position he needed them to be in.

"No." Ikaruga said to him surprising him "I fight with honor, but I am not below using underhanded tactics to defeat my enemies numbers." she said to him.

'Rules of war.' Rex thought as Six once taught him about honor and when honor was necessary and when it was not as fighting a superior group and using less than honorable means to achieve victory was the way of war and Rex knew it well.

Both stood there having a staring contest which was soon interrupted as Rex made his sword and she tried to cut him but blade met blade.

"I assumed you were stronger than how you presented yourself, but that was truly skilled." Ikaruga said as this battle would be a good one.

"Sadly he is not your opponent Ikaruga." Erza said walking in with Vanessa who had Pantherlily in her arms "You and I have unfinished business." she said as the woman dared to help revive Zeref in the Tower of Heaven, there was no way she would let that stand "Wendy is facing Gajeel all by herself Rex, Vanessa will take you to her." she said seeing he wanted to argue, but hearing Wendy was fighting Gajeel changed his tune.

Vanessa teleported him to Wendy and teleported herself away.

"Are you not going to fight?" Pantherlily asked her weakly "Gajeel told me about the magic you have mimicked." he said to her.

Vanessa was silent when she heard that question "Believe it or not, I don't think I can fight." she said as she had seen it in the children as they grew "I never had that passion those children have, I may be a mage, but I am not a warrior." she said as she saw it in Wendy when she dropped off Rex, that little girl had real steel inside her, her mettle having been tested much in the past.

"You don't need to be a warrior to fight." Pantherlily said to her "You just have to have a cause that's worth fighting for, to have people worth fighting for, and all these people me included are not doing this just for the money, but because you are important to a lot of people in the guild, you have helped and supported many, we are just returning the favor." he said as he was a warrior, but he had a cause he fought for, he knew his cause in Edolas was meaningless now, but to fight for and with people he had come to care for there was no greater cause.

Vanessa looked at the Exceed and felt humbled by his words "You're right." she said placing him down in a safe spot "These people attack my company, and harmed those who are battling to protect me, I should be willing to fight as well." she said to him as she teleported away.

Pantherlily smiled but it felt out of sorts being left out of the action.

"Why so quiet Hex, c'mon let's hear it, you kill me then what next!?" Ghostfreak said abandoning his protective skin moments ago and now in his more monstrous form "I don't know why you're still here, you tried so hard to leave to get back to Ledgerdomain and came back and still you kill more people, what do you want!?" he asked him angrily.

Hex wiped the blood coming out of his mouth as he saw this boy was not the same child he once fought, he was not pulling his punches "Isn't obvious boy, POWER!" he said firing from his staff sending Ghostfreak into a wall "You have been given power, it has been handed to you and you haven't suffered like I have!" he said to him angrily.

"I've suffered my fair share like everyone else!" Ghostfreak said firing a green beam at him their beams of magic and energy clashing "And maybe you're right about my power, but I don't sacrifice people in order to get it!" he said pouring more into it knocking Hex down.

Hex looked at him and laughed "You don't sacrifice people?" he asked cockily "Perhaps, but you also don't clean up your messes Tennyson." he said getting up "That form you've taken, Ghostfreak, well when Magnolia was brought back after the Anima, you unleashed something, haven't you noticed that my mana has only been affecting you physically, not in other ways?" he asked him tauntingly.

Ghostfreak's single eye looked down to his clawed hands and body seeing he didn't have a scratch or anything else.

"The dead feed on the living boy simple as that, but for you, it's more literal, you're absorbing mana and so was he!" Hex said having a wicked grin.

Ghostfreak felt a cold feeling clench his non-existent heart "Who?" he asked feeling dread in the answer.

"Zs'Skayr." Hex said seeing the look of shock and fear on Ghostfreak's upside-down face "Now!" he said loudly.

Ghostfreak didn't see the twin red-hot blast of lava hit him from his sides till it was too late.

"I think you're familiar with John and Joe Magtartus." Hex said as he got up "About time you two arrived." he said not sounding pleased.

"We were busy looking for the lady's book, it's not here." John said to him as they still fired at Tennyson.

Hex felt an odd heat coming from Joe "What's the matter with your brother?" he asked him not liking what he was feeling.

"We've been keeping tabs on Tennyson's allies, one of them has been showing he can use powers of his transformations, Joe has been trying for months to mimic that power he had when he met Tennyson." John said as he was a bit jealous of his brother's fortune as he had seen the effect of his new powers as they acted as a poison to those exposed to it for too long and it burned hotter than lava and fire.

"Why isn't Tennyson ashes!" Joe said angrily.

'Well, there went that ruse.' Ghostfreak thought as after the first five seconds of being shot with lava he turned intangible and kept up the charade of being burnt "Listen you witless wonders, I've kicked all your asses and it's time to show you all again why you lose!" he said as he slammed the dial becoming "Big Chill!" he said unfolding his wings "There's a time to go hero then there's a time to go Ultimate!" slammed the dial again "Ultimate Big Chill!" he said gaining a flame design.

"Keep him distracted I shall find Vanessa, if it is not here it's on her person." Hex said as he vanished.

"Does everyone here know how to teleport?" Ultimate Big Chill asked as whenever Gwen did it, she got massive headaches and was exhausted.

All he got as a response was more lava being shot at him.

"You look like you could use a little help." Vanessa said to Wendy as she was standing in front of Lucy keeping her safe from Gajeel and Vidaldus as Rex tried to fight them, but since Gajeel could eat his builds and he had no defense to sound it was not going well.

"You have Gajeel's magic right, you can eat his attacks." Wendy said as Vanessa would be able to buffer them at the very least.

"I had something else in mind." Vanessa said as a green magic circle appeared under Wendy and Rex "Laserscale has the power of enchantment so let's see what I can give you." she said having no idea what she was doing as enchantment spells required a chant and she knew none casting them blindly was not always a good thing or would often yield positive results.

Wendy's hair turned silver and her eyes gained lines going down her face and Rex's hair became red and yellow.

"Awesome what powers did we get!?" Rex said not having as in-depth knowledge of Ben's aliens as everyone else.

"Who did I get?" Wendy asked looking herself over not recognizing the changes to an alien she knew.

Vanessa was thinking this may have been a huge mistake.

'I really am gonna hate cleaning this mess up.' Brennen thought his glasses were broken as someone struck him from behind in the Weapon's District building, he could tell that there was more going on 'I need to use the prototype.' he thought to himself as he went to a secret room in the building 'Please be safe Vanessa.' he thought hoping she was using ok and safe, he opened a door and a dark purple light shined illuminating the room.

Author's Note-Hey Everyone hope you liked the chapter, was going off some of Ultimate10's old notes to do this chapter and hope it turned out ok, wonder if anyone knows what powers Wendy and Rex got for their battle, I decided to bring back Trinity Raven to make more use of them as it was in Ultimate's notes but I also noticed in the anime it never showed Ikaruga dying or her fellow teammates dying and their bios say they're alive so not sure how that happened in the anime, I hope people like how Hex is brought into the fight and how I am having Vanessa help, I threw in my personal touch with this chapter to get something going, I've posted a sketch of Gajeel's Iron Nightmare Dragon form on Deviant-Art all you gotta do is type it into your search engine my name on the site is Zangestufullbring, hope to see some support on P-A-T-R-E-O-N link is on my profile and I think my deviant-art profile as well.
