Alexus' Point of View
When we came out of the dark corridor, I found myself in a strange room with all kinds of things I had never seen before. Mr. Xemnas opened what looked like an icebox, but a little different and grabbed a blue rectangle connected to a stick wrapped in some kind of transparent paper, and handed it to me. "What is this?" I wondered.
"A special kind of ice cream. You rip the outside and take it off, and then you hold it by the stick to eat it," Mr. Xemnas explained. I followed his instructions and took a bite.
"It's salty and sweet!" I gasped.
"It's called sea salt ice cream," Mr. Xemnas mentioned. I finished it so quickly that I got brain freeze, but it only lasted a few seconds.
"Could I… um… that is… do you have any more?" I asked.
"How about this? If you eat dinner with me and my employees, you may have more ice cream afterward," Mr. Xemnas offered.
"I guess," I sighed.
Mr. Xemnas took me to my room and left so that I could rest. The only problem was, all I could think about was Mama. A boy came into the room and shut the door behind him. He had blue hair covering one of his blue eyes and the same outfit as Mr. Xemnas. "Hi. I'm Zexion," The boy greeted.
"Hi, Zexion. I'm Alexus. Do you mind coming back some other time? I'm really upset right now," I sighed.
"Hey, don't be sad. Your mom and my parents are in the same place. I bet they're together talking about us right now," Zexion assured me.
"Oh… sorry. Does this ache ever go away?" I asked.
"It did for me," Zexion replied.
"When did it go away for you?" I wondered.
"When I started to let my guard down with my new family," Zexion answered.
"I don't think I'll ever be able to let my guard down with Mr. Xemnas. See? I can't even bring myself to call him my father," I groaned.
"Well, how about me? Do you think you can let your guard down with me?" Zexion inquired.
"Well yeah. I already have," I said.
"And how do you feel when you're talking to me?" Zexion smiled.
"Better than before. I'm still sad about Mama, but you seem to make things easier for me," I realized.
"So you and me, we're family now. I'll be your… big brother," Zexion decided.
The door opened with Mr. Xemnas on the other side. "Zexion? What are you doing here? Vexen has been looking all over for you," He said. Zexion winced. "Well, there's nothing you can do about it now. You and Alexus need to wash up for dinner. Why don't you show her to the dining room when you're finished."
"Yes, sir," Zexion replied. We went into the bathroom to wash our hands.
