Alexus's Point of View

The following day, I woke up before Mr. Xemnas woke me because I didn't want a repeat of my previous morning. I waited in my room because I didn't want to get lost. I read my book to pass the time. Eventually, there was a knock on my door, which I thought was strange since Mr. Xemnas never knocked on my door. I opened the door to see Axel. "Hello, Axel. What are you doing here?" I wondered.

"Looks like I have babysitting duty today. I get to stay here with you," Axel explained.

"What about Mr. Xemnas?" I questioned.

"Your dad is pretty busy," He replied.

"So I've heard," I groaned.

"Hey, don't sound so down. You don't really want to spend all your days with only him in this big castle, do you?" He chuckled.

"No, not really," I agreed.

"So, what do you do for fun?" He asked.

"Well… I was reading my books," I answered. Axel's eyes widened.

"Books?! That's your idea of fun? You know what, I'm going to show you what fun really is. Come with me," He said. I followed him down the halls, and we made our way to a spiral staircase that looked like it was on the inside of a tower. We went up to the top of the stairs. It was a long walk, and my legs were tired when we finally got to the top. Axel opened a door to a dark room. "Let me light the candles before you come in." I waited. A small flame appeared at the end of his finger.

"You're on fire!" I shrieked.

"I know," He smirked.

"This is no time for jokes! You're literally on fire!" I screeched.

"Alexus, it's okay. It's magic fire. It won't hurt me," He assured me. I realized that he didn't look like he was in even a tiny bit of pain, so I calmed down. He used the fire at his fingertip to light some candles sitting on a small table before he blew the fire out. "It's a little messy, but come on in."

I stepped in and saw a sofa facing a large black square. There were some rectangular boxes next to it with thick strands of material sticking out that were connected to oddly shaped devices. Empty plates littered the floor. "What is this place?" I wondered.

"This is my gaming room. Saix and I set it up, and we play games together," Axel explained.

"What kind of games do you play?" I asked.

"All sorts of video games," He answered.

"What's a video game?" I questioned. His eyes widened in shock.

"You mean you don't even know what a video game is?!" He exclaimed. I hated how he said that like I was supposed to know. He made it seem like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"I'm going back to read my book," I stated. I turned to leave.

"Hey, wait! I'll show you," Axel said. He did something with a rectangular box, and it made some noises. Finally, he pushed a button on the big black square. It lit up and showed a picture.

"How did it do that?!" I gasped. I had never seen anything like it.

"I turned it on. Wait, you don't know what a T.V. is?" He sounded shocked. "What about a movie? Like at a movie theater?"

"I know what a theater is, though I've never been to one. Sometimes we would get travelers passing through town. Some of them had been to plays or operas at the theater. I've even heard of a new sort of theater that shows moving pictures. Can you imagine seeing a picture that-" Axel walked over to an oddly shaped device and pressed a button. The man in the picture jumped. "That was… how? More magic?"

"I guess you could say it's kind of magic. It's actually just technology that wasn't invented in your world yet. Have a seat. I'll show you how to play." Axel offered. I took a seat on the sofa giddily. I hadn't realized until that point that there were good things about my newly found magical home. Axel handed me the oddly shaped device with buttons, and I began my video gaming adventure.

This is my second chapter tonight. I have some almost finished chapters, so I'll probably be posting them this weekend. I just have to go over the chapters one more time for mistakes. I hope that you are enjoying my fanfiction. I'm pretty happy with how this is going so far. Thanks for reading.
