Alexus's Point of View
Axel and I went to dinner. I felt more relaxed because I was with Axel. The Dusks still frightened me, though. That day's meal was chicken and cooked carrots. I didn't mind carrots, so I didn't ask Axel to take anything from my plate. "Has Axel been good to you?" Mr. Xemnas asked as I ate.
"Yes, sir," I replied.
"Good. He will entertain you again tomorrow, though, in the future, you will be with different people," Mr. Xemnas mentioned. I was happy that I was going to be with Axel again. I hoped I would only ever be with Axel, Lexaeus, and Zexion. The way Axel described everyone else made me wary of them.
"Lord Xemnas, if I may, I had a question. I was wondering if I'm permitted to take Alexus to other worlds when I'm watching her," Axel inquired. He spoke so formally to Mr. Xemnas. I was glad he didn't talk to me that way.
"Indeed. So long as you keep her out of harm's way. If there is so much as a scratch on her, your existence is on the line," Mr. Xemnas replied. I didn't understand what he meant by Axel's existence is on the line, but I didn't want to find out. I decided to never let Mr. Xemnas see any cuts or bruises if I were ever injured.
"Understood. I will take excellent care of her," Axel assured Mr. Xemnas.
"The same goes for any of you. If I ever find out that my daughter has gotten hurt while in your care, you are risking your very existence. I hope I have made myself clear," Mr. Xemnas announced. I became fearful of what he would do if I ever got hurt. Once the thoughts started, they wouldn't stop. It came to the point where I had to know to ease my mind.
"Axel, what does he mean by that?" I whispered.
"Hm? By what?" Axel wondered.
"By risking your existence?" I explained.
"Oh… Listen, don't you worry about that. Your dad is just making sure that no one will intentionally hurt you or let you get hurt. Nothing bad is going to happen," Axel stated.
"Are you sure?" I checked.
"Positive," Axel smiled.
"But what does he mean?" I pressed.
"I'll tell you when you're older," was all Axel said.
I stopped asking about it, but I feared the worst since he wouldn't tell me, and I lost my appetite. "Mr. Xemnas, I don't feel so good. May I be excused?" I requested.
"Of course. Do you recall the way back to your room?" Mr. Xemnas questioned.
"No," I sighed.
Mr. Xemnas got out of his seat. "I'll take you there. Come along," He offered. I followed him out of the room.
