Alexus's Point of View

Not long after Mr. Xemnas had left me, I remembered that it was time for another letter. I was hesitant because I knew it would make me sad, but I took a deep breath, opened the envelope, and read its contents.

Dear Alexus,

I suppose it has been nearly a week since you have been with your father. I hope you're learning to get along with him, and he is learning to get along with you. This will be a challenging time for you, but I know that you will adjust. You are my brave girl. I want nothing more than for you to recover, but it will take time.

I know you still have many questions, and I have been discreet in my letters. I will tell you in time. It is important for you to have a strong foundation with your father before I share my secrets. I fear what would happen for your sake if I tell you the truth prematurely. Patience will be the key to unlocking my many mysteries. You'll understand someday.

I must confess, I'm not entirely sure what to write to you until the time in which I can divulge my secrets. You must be so overwhelmed being in a new place. Perhaps I should have discussed the truth with you sooner, but we were so happy. I am holding on to every moment with you. I told myself that there would be plenty of time for you to find the answers I wish to give you through both these letters and your father when I am gone. I would have loved to tell you in person someday, but alas, this body will not survive much longer. In the meantime, treasure every moment, both peaceful and chaotic. Ignorance is truly bliss.

With all my love,

Mama

As with her other letters, she was somewhat cryptic. I wanted to know all of the secrets that she dropped hints of here and there, but I trusted Mama to tell me at the right time.

Mr. Xemnas came into the room holding a stack of folded clothes. "I have your new clothes." He set my clothes on my bedside table. "I'll leave them here for you." He left my room.

I looked at the clothes. "New clothes, new life, new ways. So much to learn, so little time," I sighed.

Tara Mccann: As of right now, I do not have any plans for Alexus to wield a keyblade. She may use one in the future, but that likely wouldn't happen until much later. The daggers will be her weapon for the majority of the story.
