Xemnas's Point of View
Alexus and Number VIII hadn't shown up to dinner. I perceived that something had gone wrong. After dinner, I paced in The Grey Area and pondered what I should do. Number VIII came in through a dark corridor. I expected Alexus to be trailing behind him, but she was nowhere to be seen. "Where is my daughter?" I snapped. Number VIII hesitated. "Answer me now."
"Myka told me to inform you about- well- there is a situation. She was playing with Myka's son somewhere in the forest in her homeworld. Myka told them to be back before supper, but now it's almost dark, and there is still no sign of them," Number VIII explained.
I opened a dark corridor. "I'll deal with you later. If my daughter remains missing, you will be released from your existence slowly and painfully," I threatened. I briskly walked through the dark corridor which led to Alexus's former home. Myka and Saix were standing outside. "Is there still no sign of her?"
"No. Before we go jumping to conclusions, they have done this before. It's not common, but they do lose track of time sometimes. If I were to go looking for them and they come home, I would need someone to come and get me. I'm trying to avoid that, but if they don't show up for too much longer, I'll have to," Myka replied.
"What if-" I didn't allow myself to finish that sentence as all I could think about were the worst possible scenarios.
"As I said, this isn't the first time they have done this. Alexus and Joe play in the forest all the time. They know what to look out for and how to take care of themselves. The children are fine," Myka assured me.
"If you say so. You would know better than I would," I sighed. An idea suddenly formed in my mind. "Perhaps I have been going about this the wrong way."
"Come again?" Myka asked.
"I know that we've had our differences in the past, but would you be willing to give me some advice for Alexus's sake?" I requested.
"I suppose I could. You wouldn't ask me for advice unless you were desperate," Myka agreed.
"I want to have a relationship with Alexus, but I'm not even sure where to start. Do you suppose that it would be easier if we were to spend some time here?" I inquired.
Myka thought about it. "I think it would help. It certainly wouldn't hurt. I know Alexus would appreciate some extra time at home. Speaking of Alexus, I think I hear her and Joe now."
I strained my ears, but I couldn't hear anything. I knew Myka's senses were sharper than mine, so I trusted that what she said was true and waited.
I finally had a chapter from Xemnas's point of view. I figured that it was about time, and this was the perfect time to do it.
