Alexus's Point of View

Over the next month, I fell into a pattern of spending the morning and day with Joe and the afternoon and night with Mr. Xemnas. I was happy and content, and I cherished every moment. Like all good things, it had to end sooner or later. One day, after Joe and I had taken a walk, we went back to Joe's house to find that Mr. Xemnas was there talking to Aunt Myka, Aunt Dulcie, and Aunt Bess. The room became hushed when they noticed us. "What's going on?" I wondered.

"Joseph, we are leaving tomorrow," Aunt Myka stated.

"Leaving where?" Joe asked.

"We're going home," Aunt Dulcie smiled.

"But we're home now," Joe pointed out.

"Our old home. You were too young to remember. It was a long time ago. A friend of ours will come tomorrow to take us there," Aunt Myka explained.

"Tomorrow?!" I exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, Alexus. We have to go. We've been gone much too long in the first place, and we were only meant to stay until your mother… We've been here too long. Your father will take good care of you," Aunt Myka replied.

"I don't understand," I said.

"You will, someday. Until that time comes, we have to say goodbye," Aunt Dulcie insisted.

"Where will you be? I'll come to visit you," I decided.

"You cannot visit us, Alexus. It is another world," Aunt Myka refused.

I gasped. "You're from another world?!"

"We are. Your mother was as well," Aunt Myka answered.

"That's enough. You have said as much as you can. You know how Claria was. Anything Alexus should know will be in her letters," Mr. Xemnas reminded.

"We are all aware. Can she at least come to see us leave? It should just be Prilla," Aunt Myka requested.

"I suppose, so long as he's not there. I don't want him getting any ideas about taking Alexus. He forfeited that right when he banished Claria," Mr. Xemnas replied.

"Banished Mama? What do you mean?" I questioned.

"He won't be. At most, Trak may come, but "you know who" certainly won't be here," Aunt Myka assured Mr. Xemnas, paying me no mind.

"Who are you talking about?" I inquired.

"Who's Trak? Is that his last name? Does he have the same last name as us?" Joe added.

"Very well. I'll be there as well, so Alexus won't be alone when you leave," Mr. Xemnas decided.

"What's going on?!" I shouted.

Aunt Myka and Mr. Xemnas turned to me in surprise as though they had forgotten I was there. "Never mind. Come. We must allow them to make preparations. We will see them off tomorrow," Mr. Xemnas stated.

"But I want to stay with them," I tried.

"This is not up for discussion. We are going home and will be back tomorrow," Mr. Xemnas insisted.

"We'll see you tomorrow, Alexus. Go with your father," Aunt Bess urged.

"We have much to prepare," Aunt Dulcie added.

"Goodbye, Alexus," Aunt Myka said while guiding Joe back into the house. Aunt Bess and Aunt Dulcie followed her.

Mr. Xemnas started walking back home, but I stayed in my place. When he noticed I wasn't beside him, he turned to me. "Did you not hear me? We are going home," Mr. Xemnas reminded.

"I can't just let them leave!" I exclaimed.

"They must leave. We cannot keep them here," Mr. Xemnas insisted.

"No! I'm not going home!" I huffed.

Aunt Dulcie opened the door. "Alexus, I can hear you from inside the house! You get back home and don't give your father any trouble. We'll talk tomorrow morning," She insisted before going back into the house and shutting the door.

"You heard her. This only has to be as difficult as you make it. Come, Alexus. We'll discuss this at home," Mr. Xemnas stated. When I didn't come any closer to him, he began to walk toward me. I took a step backward, and he stopped. I ran to the forest, hoping that Joe would have the same idea. Before I could get far, Mr. Xemnas appeared directly in front of me and grabbed my shoulders. "No. You are not about to run off like that. You are coming home with me the easy way or the hard way, but we're going home regardless."

"I don't wanna!" I wailed, struggling to free myself from his grasp.

"So be it," He stated. He picked me up and began walking home as I flailed, kicked, and punched.

"I don't wanna! Let me go! I wanna go back! Let me go!" I yelled. He ignored my cries and kept his hold firm while walking home with me. By the time we arrived, I was too exhausted to put up a fight. Mr. Xemnas put me down, and I collapsed in a heap with tears pouring down from my eyes. "I don't want them to go."

"They must. You'll understand that one day," Mr. Xemnas said.

"I don't want to understand. I want them to stay," I snapped.

Mr. Xemnas retreated into the dining area, leaving me to sob on the floor. I cried until I couldn't cry anymore and went to my room to sulk.

I'm probably going to get a little bit into her mother's backstory, and then she'll go back to the organization.
