Alexus's Point of View
When we arrived, Aunt Myka, Aunt Dulcie, Aunt Bess, and Joe were waiting outside. My aunts wore strange clothing that I had never seen before. Aunt Myka wore a yellow short-sleeved shirt, a purple hat and pants, and green shoes. Aunt Dulcie wore a yellow dress with a blue long-sleeved and orange pants under it, orange shoes, and a white hat. Aunt Bess wore a green hat, an indigo shirt, a green belt with what looked like large orange petals underneath, a translucent blue skirt, indigo pants, and indigo shoes. My aunts smiled when they saw me, though Joe looked scared and upset. I ran ahead of Mr. Xemnas, rushing to be with them. "Alexus, we're so happy you could make it," Aunt Bess smiled.
"Are you really fairies?" I questioned.
Aunt Bess's smile fell. I was afraid they would tell me they weren't until Aung Myka spoke up. "We are."
"Wait, what?" Joe asked. It seemed like he didn't know either.
"I'll explain when we get there," Aunt Myka told Joe.
"Our friend, Prilla, will be here soon. She'll take us home," Aunt Dulcie mentioned.
"Is she a fairy?" I wondered.
"She is. She'll turn us back into fairies as she takes us home," Aunt Bess answered.
Joseph looked highly alarmed. "What about me? I don't want to be a fairy. I want to stay here with Alexus."
"Joseph, we already discussed that you can't stay with Alexus," Aunt Myka sighed.
"But, Mama, you didn't tell me anything about being a fairy. How is that even possible?" Joseph tried.
Aunt Myka was about to respond, but a woman and a man holding hands appeared out of nowhere. The woman's hair was a curly reddish-brown, and she had blue eyes. She was wearing a pink dress with a green half skirt, a green hat, and green shoes. The man had light brown hair and brown eyes and wore a brown hat, a green shirt and shoes, and blue pants. The woman smiled and ran toward my aunts. "Bess, Dulcie, Myka!" She embraced my aunts.
Aunt Myka moved away from the group hug and walked toward the man. She turned back to us with a smile. "Joseph, come say hello to your father."
Joe didn't move in their direction. Instead, he took my hand and held it tightly. "We could run," He suggested quietly.
"No, we can't. My fa- Mr. Xemnas would catch us," I replied.
"We could still try," Joe urged.
I glanced back at Mr. Xemnas. He stood a little ways away, likely not trying to get in the middle of the reunion. My gaze returned to Joe. "If you had said that a month ago, or even yesterday, I would have, but a month ago, I didn't know what it was like to have a father, and yesterday, I didn't know that you had a father. It's not always easy. Some days are pretty rough, but I have somewhere I belong. I never imagined it would be anywhere as crazy as another world, but you and Aunt Dulcie, and Aunt Myka, and Aunt Bess were the only reason that I was here. Everything else is just stuff. Now that you're leaving, I think I can move on. It's going to be hard without you, but I want you to have the best life you can, even if it means I'm not in it. Look how happy your mother is. She wouldn't be that happy if your father was a bad person, so he must be a good person. Come on. Let's meet him together." I started walking toward Aunt Myka and Joe's father while holding Joe's hand.
"Alexus, wait," Joe protested, but he didn't struggle or put up a fight as I guided him to his parents. We approached them. "Hi."
"Joseph, look at you. You've gotten so big," Joe's father commented.
"What's your name," Joe wondered.
"I mean, I am your father. Dad or something like that would be acceptable. My name is Trak," Joe's father introduced.
"Trak? That's my last name," Joe realized.
Aunt Myka laughed. "We don't usually have last names where we're from. I used your father's name for our last name here."
"You'll love Pixie Hollow, Joseph. We'll be a lot smaller. Your mother and I are scout-talent fairies. You won't have a talent yet. Fairies and sparrow men like you don't get talents until you're older," Mr. Trak smiled.
"What's a talent and a sparrow man?" Joe wondered.
"We'll tell you all about it when we get there. Now is the time to say goodbye," Aunt Myka insisted.
Joe turned back to me. "I don't want to go," He shuddered.
"I know how you feel. It won't be so bad. Let's see each other again someday," I suggested.
"I will see you again. I swear it," Joe promised.
We gave each other one last hug before they returned to Aunt Dulcie, Aunt Bess, and Ms. Prilla. I joined Mr. Xemnas to watch. He placed his hand on my shoulder, though I knew it was mostly to make sure I didn't try to run off. They began holding hands. Aunt Myka and Mr. Trak each took one of Joseph's hands. They began to glow. Joe's expression turned fearful. "Wait, I don't want to do this!" He exclaimed. He began struggling, but Aunt Myka and Mr. Trak held on to his hands tightly.
"Don't let go of him," Aunt Myka warned Mr. Trak.
"I won't," Mr. Trak assured her.
"Alexus!" Joe shouted. I wanted to help him, but I knew I couldn't. Mr. Xemnas's hand tightened on my shoulder, not enough to hurt but enough to be noticeable. They vanished, and Mr. Xemnas and I were alone.
I looked up at Mr. Xemnas. He was looking off into the distance. "Hey," I started. He didn't acknowledge me. He seemed to be lost in thought. "Hey, Mr. Xemnas," I tried again. I took his hand, and he looked down at me. "Can we go home? Back to the floating castle?" I didn't want to spend another second in this world. It felt hollow without anyone I loved in it.
"Of course. I'll have Saix watch your house again," Mr. Xemnas replied.
"That's okay. If I could just grab a few things, I won't need anything from there again. I want to move on," I decided.
"Very well. We'll go back to your house, and then we'll go back to my castle," Xemnas agreed.
That wraps up Alexus's home world. She's finally going back to The Castle That Never Was.
