Based on that one tiktok/vine about a flight attendant arrving in Russia and how Russians are unaffected by the cold. I'll find it and link it in my profile. Enjoy!
As the plane touches down and taxis towards the airport, Yuuri braces himself to face the chilly Russian winter that awaits him once he's outside. Through the window he can see fat snowflakes drifting down from the stormy gray sky. He shivers.
The hardest part of moving to Russia (at least for him) has been learning to deal with the seemingly endless, extreme cold that comes with the infamous Russian winters. Sure, they got snow in Japan in the winter, and it did get chilly there for a few months, but it's nothing compared to the yearly Russian freeze.
At least it's warm outside the airport. Yuuri makes sure that he has his passport in hand to go through customs, and then digs all of his winter gear out of his carry-on. Gloves, hat, scarf, two coats. He'd even worn his warmest socks and boots on the flight. After nearly giving himself hypothermia several times during his first winter here, he's learned to be prepared.
His journey through customs is uneventful, the line thankfully short, and after snagging his suitcase from the baggage claim he heads for the airport exit where he's supposed to meet Victor. A cold gust of wind blows through the automatic doors as they briefly open and shut behind a person. Yuuri is grateful that he's layered up to face the weather.
"Yuuri!" Even if his fiance hadn't been calling his name and holding up a giant sign with his name on it, Yuuri would have easily been able to spot Victor in any crowd. He rushes over to greet him, dodging around the other airport guests, and eagerly returns the hug that he's swept up into.
"My dear Yuuri, I missed you so much," Victor murmurs into his ear. His warmth is more than welcome in the chilly airport lobby.
"I missed you too," Yuuri replies, beaming into the fabric of Victor's coat. For a moment the world narrows down to just the two of them, united once more.
It's a beautiful illusion, only broken by someone next to them clearing their throat loudly. They spring apart to see Yuri glaring sourly at them. "You two lovebirds do realize that you're in public, right?"
Victor grumbles something under his breath, but Yuuri is too happy right now to really care all that much. "It's good to see you too, Yuri."
"Yeah, whatever," Yuri mumbles, rolling his eyes, but Yuuri can see the hint of a smile on his face. "And don't even think about hugging me."
"I wouldn't dream of it," Yuuri promises him. Some things never change.
Including the way Russians dress in the middle of the freezing cold winter. As the three of them make their way to the parking lot where Victor's car is waiting for them, Yuuri can't help but shake his head at the way his two companions are dressed. Both of them are just wearing just a t-shirt and pants, without a coat in sight. And neither of them even seem to notice the chill even as Yuuri shivers in his two coats.
Russians truly are a different breed.
