Who knew they would have a massive parade like this just to announce clubs? It's mid-morning and dean Lumino has us parading around campus the old clubs and the new. Surprising that I'm a part of a club. Kai approached me a few days back and asked if I wanted to be his co-captain for the judo club. I'm surprised he didn't ask Nexus they've been attached at the hip lately. His response was that Nexus made his own club. It caught me off guard that we wouldn't have a club that fit his ideas but it does have me curious.
"Glad all the clubs made it out here and to announce some clubs that need some more members. We have a new club, Vanguard fight club with their captain being Macalister Nexus and their appointed teacher being Tyler Loft. Those who enjoy fighting with magical beings on a world known as planet cray I recommend you join the vanguard fight club" Lumino then brought the parade to a halt and walked up to Kai who was next to me. " Next up is our Judo club, a lot of members graduated last year leaving their strongest underclassman behind and new captain Kai Blaze. Ever wonder why this guy is good at close combat and it is not because he knows superpower" After Lumino finished he nodded at Kai which was off as if he was cheering for him.
"What was that about?" I asked.
"I'm not sure myself but I wouldn't think much of it" Kai diffused the situation instantly. Typical of him, I forgot if you want an answer you need to butter him up first. I let out a winded sigh as Lumino went on about other clubs.
"Lastly we have our student council with Luna Strife as our President. Let's not forget her secretary Luke Angel or the treasurer Jinx Potter. They need more members so they can get motions passed easier instead of leaving them to the elite class. Those who are willing please join" With that being the end of the line Lumino then dismissed us all. I was about to leave when Kai placed his hand on my shoulder.
"What?" I was ready to take a nap.
"We are required to go to our respective club rooms and welcome new members" Kai gave me a trademark fake smile. Is it bad that I can even tell he's being fake now and I'm not the brightest? I followed his lead and we traveled to the school to only walk up to the second floor and enter the gym.
"Why are we in the gym? The basketball and Volleyball teams practice here?" Kai looked at me disappointed and let out a long sigh. If I can wear him down this easily maybe the future won't be too much of a problem.
"Past those doors is a special Judo field we have and behind it is our club room" as we walked in it was bigger than I thought. It may have only three battle areas but it's roomy and looks like it's been taken care of on a daily basis.
"Didn't you say you were the only member left?" I was a bit confused.
"Correct, I've been tending to this room myself every week, I make sure to come in. It's not much of a hassle really" he smiled and this one was genuine because a light chuckle followed it. "We're only required to be here for an hour and we're free to leave" He then got onto the small square in front of us. "Why not humor me with a bit of training" Kai had a smug look. I then noticed he changed into his club get up similar to a karate outfit but he had blazing red flames on it. Must've been custom-made with a black belt too.
"Why not?" I shrugged. "Do I get one?" I asked.
"There's a spare behind you on the wall and you can change in the club room" I looked behind me and it looked like a custom-made outfit. I had similar patterns of red and black like my fur and a white belt. I went to the back and changed and it felt really comfortable to be in this getup. I then went back out.
"I'm ready when you are," I taunted.
"Alright, I won't go all out seeing you are new to this. 3 . . 2 . . 1, Begin" he didn't charge at me like I would expect in a fight rather he stood there. So I took the chance and there are no rules against pokemon using physical moves, only ranged moves. So I charged in with Flare Blitz. Flames cloaking around me I charged at Kai and he stood there, he didn't look like he was going to dodge and win by a ring out. When I clashed with Kai I saw his muscles visibly bulge. That must be him using Superpower and I was stopped in my tracks. I was then grabbed by the collar of my clothing and flipped over his head. Next thing I know I can view the room's ceiling and I'm winded from only thirty seconds of fighting.
"Nice try but a simple attack like that in judo will have you flipped on your head" Kai smiled at me and offered to help me up which I took.
"Woah, Kai I never thought I'd see the day when Percival would be flipped on his head" We turned to the door and it was Jai and he was accompanied by others. I completely changed my demeanor as well.
"Yay, a bunch of losers are here. Kai, I think you can take it from here, I'll be in the back" I left for the club room before Kai had the chance to argue. So Jai Chesterfield wants to join and I'm surprised I saw Ace in the crowd too. I thought she had beef with Kai. Is she here to bury the hatchet, if so that would-. No, let's not overthink, I can still sense malice from here. I made my way to the club room where I changed back into my normal clothes. I decided to open my ORB and see how Nexus was doing with his club since Vanguard is something Sydney is into. They already had their roster and they have ten members already. Sydney was one, of course. I was surprised to see Fang on this list. Maybe because he has a crush on Nexus. Then there was Pollon Strife, Miss President's younger sister. Why would someone of high intellect like her fall prey to a trivial card game? I then decided to look at our roster and we have five new members making it seven of us. Ace and Jai are two of the new ones. I let out a sigh, someone my age shouldn't have this much stress.

"Were you able to find anything?" I asked the Dean while in his office.
"No, but this infection is spreading fast" Lumino sunk back into his chair. "It's sad to say but MT has reached even Evergreen. I would hate to suggest it but a student may be his lackey" Lumino looked at the wall. " Over five hundred students are infected and this virus only brings out their true power" I then pulled up the screen in his office.
"Then what's the problem?" I asked in a teasing manner.
"The students are being turned into puppets who want power. Whatever is spreading is bringing out their full potential before their bodies can handle it. Not only that but the more they use their full power this way it seems they go on about salvation and how they have been gifted by god" Lumino slammed his head on his desk in frustration.
"I have more info for you, it seems the infected students infer others by giving a crystal to the loser knowing the loser can't refuse. Though if the infected loses the crystal is forced out of the body and shatters into mini shards. Sadly we can't analyze it when they are broken" I bowed my head in disappointment.
"Wait, doesn't one of the Noivern trio possess an analytic eye?" Lumino asked. I then remembered back in Ferrum When Blaze was able to snuff me out in the Summer Festival final stage.
"Yes Blaze Two, the son of MT" I responded.
"We should include him on this, however we only will if the situation gets more out of hand," Lumino said and I heard running in the halls. Weird everyone should be gone, all the club meetings have been done for the past two hours. I've heard running past this door lately whenever we have our meetings is the culprit listening in?
"I agree Dean Lumino, if nothing else I will see myself out" I quickly left the room without his approval hoping to catch a glimpse of who ran by but nothing.
~Kai's~

I don't understand how I got here. If father were to see me at an event like this, he'd be disappointed. Being in the gym with loud music and semi-formal get-up isn't my style anyway. I initially wasn't going to go when Nexus asked me, but then Corrode and Jai didn't give me a choice. I decided to chill out in a corner and it was no surprise to find Percy chilling here too. I tried to locate Jai but as normal he was surrounded by fanboys and fangirls alike.
"Why aren't the two of you out here dancing?" Corrode came up to us and with him was Pollon.
"They are insecure about showing their dance moves" Pollon answered for us flatly.
"I can't argue with that" Percy didn't even try to defend himself.
"It's whatever really, though staying in my room would've been nice" I complained.
"I'm glad you were dragged out of your nest, coming from me you need to get out more" Pollon jabbed at me. I faked being hurt as if I was shot. They continued talking but I tuned them out. I was looking for Nexus and before you knew it I was shoving my way through the crowd of pokemon.
"Oh, Kai!" A voice grabbed my attention. Then someone shoved a lot of their weight on me and it was Angel. Guess he still thinks we're buddy-buddy. I'm only being civil because Luna asked. "We're over there having some fun, join us" before I could see where he was pointing I was being dragged to a corner. Nexus, Luna, Fang, Ace, and Nix were all having fun dancing in the corner. I stood there watching as they had a circle formed and each of them took a turn dancing. They seemed to have a lot of fun, as silly as they looked. Maybe I shouldn't look at Luna when she's like this. It ruins my pristine image of her. Though one I couldn't take my eyes off of Nexus. Why is he so talented at everything? Even drew in Nix to dance with him and she was having a blast. My sister rarely smiles. Then he looked in my direction as if he had just noticed me and gestured for me to join him and I shook my head no. That's when he came up to me invading my personal space and I could smell the cologne he had put on just tonight. It was earthy but then had a hint of cinnamon. I love the smell of cinnamon.
"Care to join me for a dance, just you and me, no one else watching?" He whispered and I could hear him over the loud music. I felt a blush creep on my cheeks.
"Sorry I can't," I pushed him back lightly but before I could respond the DJ came on the mic.
"Time for a slow dance and I think we have some love birds out there. These next few songs are for you" I couldn't stay for that. Quickly made my way out of the building with the slow-paced music behind me. If I were to dance with Nexus my father would surely find out and he wouldn't be happy. I sighed as I sat down on the front steps of the building.
"What do I do now? I left the gym in a rush and my friends were concerned, then again they know to leave me alone when I'm like this" I sat there in silence as the wind blew.

"Future sight is a wonderful skill" I jumped at a voice. "Don't worry it's me, I came out here preemptively knowing what would unfold" Pollon came out from the shadows looking me dead in the eyes.
"What are you trying to do then? Rewrite what will happen" I scoffed.
"You and I both know that's not how it works" Pollon looked down at me. "Why did you reject Nexus?" She asked me straight up and I wasn't sure if I should be intimidated by her small stature.
"I didn't want to. He would've been bored dancing with me" I rolled my eyes.
"Wrong, you don't want this getting back to your father" I glared at her. Of course, she knew the real answer she wanted to see if I would be honest.
"Why do you care this doesn't concern you" I stood up forcing her down a step.
"I'm tired of seeing you in fear of embracing who you are in fear of what your father will do" she jumped back.
"I have no idea what you are talking about" I shoved my hands in my pockets hoping that would signify the end of this conversation.
"Fine, if you want to play that way" She calmly opened her ORB screen. " I challenge Ace Kai Blaze to a street duel and if I win he tells Nexus how he feels" My ORB screen opened showing her challenge.
"If I win, you'll leave me alone with problems concerning Nexus" I hit accept.
"Challenge accepted battle will commence," The automated voice said.
"Deal" she nodded.
"3 . . 2 . . 1 Battle Begin!" The automated voice announced. Pollon instantly opened her ears and the area around us started to feel different and bizarre. I then remember her using this strategy in the tournament.
"Nice Wonder Room but will you be able to land an attack" I taunted and charged at her.
"You, above all, should know I know what I'm doing" She stayed calm and kept her ear open as some psychic stones appeared all around and then went into different portals. So she wants to stall me out. If I can become faster it won't matter. I then charge at Pollon like a green drill. I blazed past her, breaking her psychic concentration and closing her ears.
"Since when did you know Trailblaze?" She asked surprised.
"That doesn't matter, what matters is you leaving me alone" I howled out and I could feel faster. I charged at her again and again until my speed rose three stats. After my last attack, I was met with a bolt of electricity, it wasn't strong but I could already tell she was setting up for something with that charge beam. I charged at her again this time cloaked in flames but I was stopped dead in my tracks. I looked at her and her ears were up and glowed in a blue hue.
"Don't you know it's foolish to fight a psychic type" She slammed my body against the floor.
"Not at all, I'm the one who is an elite student here" I spat. Next thing you know portals open and stones start coming at me but what surprised me was they all had different colors as if they were infused with different elements. My guess was right because I was hit with a deep blue one and it felt like a wave of water washed over my fur.
" Hope you like my future sight, It allows me to embed the stones of different elements when they travel through to the future" She said in her normal flat tone. "I'll end this quickly" She continued her onslaught of Future Sight, and psychic. I was just being dragged in every direction.
"This is enough!" Flames went in every direction as my body temperature broke through her psychic. I created a veil of lava surrounding us both and wrapped my body around Pollon. To only suplex throw her on the ground met with intense flames. "Take this Eye of The Storm!" I jumped back.
"Vitals from Pollon, She concedes. Winner Kai Blaze" The automated voice said.

"Pollon, are you okay?" I expressed my concern for her after the fight. I ran to her side and my anger disappeared.
"I'm fine just a bit worn out thanks to you" She sent a glare my way. I gave her a sheepish smile as I realized I had a fight with my closest friend. "I'll chill out here for a bit and then head back to the dorms" She walked over to the steps and sat down.
"What about the dance?" I asked.
"You know I don't like dances, plus I only came to see what's going on, you do as you please" Pollon then let the silence sink in. All we could hear was the music coming from inside.
"I don't know how I feel about Nexus" I stood up and climbed the steps to the front door. "Though, I'll say this it's stronger then what I felt for Zeek and is a lot more confusing" as I said that even with my back turned I can see the smirk on Pollon's face. I then decided to join everyone. Upon making my way back it was time for slow dancing. I saw Luna with Angel, Percy with Sydney, and Nexus with Fang. I was in complete shock seeing those two together and they looked genuinely happy. Seems like I was just a pawn in his game for Fang. Good thing he chose before any accident could occur, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hurt. I decided to hideout at the gym entrance and just watched everyone happily dancing together.
'Go against my word and I'll show you what will happen if you disobey me' an unpleasant memory of my father played in my head. I think I should go.
"Kai" I snapped out my haze and Jai was in front of me. How long has he been standing there? "Did you hear what I said?" His voice was calm and he had a light smirk on his face as I could see into his ocean blue eyes.
"Sorry, what did you ask?" I shook my head.
"Can I have this dance?" He took his hand in mine and blushed. That is the first time he has done any romantic gesture with me. No, it's not like that he's a friend and a classmate.
"Sure thing" I smiled at him and he returned it as we made our way onto the dancefloor. He was very swift on his feet, not only is he a pretty boy but he is actually a good dancer not to mention fighter. As we started to dance together I could see some eyes on us and heard some whispering. Suddenly I was spun and pulled in close to his chest.
"Don't worry about the others, just focus on us" he whispered in my ear. And I listened to him as we continued our dance. Everynow and then I would look over to Nexus and his eyes would never leave Fang. I guess I know what he likes. The music was slowly coming to an end and when Jai spun me again he pulled me in and we kissed. It was a light kiss that was short but if I had to be honest it made me happy. That alone felt better than the complications I've felt with Nexus.
Action: Well it seems like Nexus wasn't the answer.
Kai: Not like I liked him anyway.
Pollon: *Sighs* Lies.
Nix: I agree.
Kai: Can we stop bullying me?
Ace: No.
Action: I think we're getting distracted here.
Nexus: Oh right we're trying something new this chapter.
Action: Correct. Percy, it's preview time.
Percival: Up next: Some time has passed since the homecoming dance and it's now mid october and that means it's time for students to prepare for the class change race. The elite students are training hard and it would seem some will butt heads. Woah, Zeek makes an appearance. Comeback next time for chapter nine Doom and Gloom, only in ESA.
