Action: Anyway, remind us what happened last time.
Sydney: Last time was the festival of dragons and I had a lovely time. I'm sure many others did too. Though keep an eye out since Nexus went with Fang and Kai went with Jai. Not to mention Jai said I love you. Let's not forget Tyler's interaction with Maxmillion Blaze, Kai's dad. I think he's weird but who cares.

Today is beautiful and I can't believe we are spending it on an island, though one I've never heard of. Tyler said this island is called Scorpion Isle. I looked it up before we left this morning and nothing. The other elite students seem to be enjoying themselves playing in the water and building sand castles. We already sang happy birthday to Tyler and had some cake. I decided to stay on the beach in my trunks and leave my button-up unbuttoned. Pollon is out collecting shells and my sister Nix has been eyeing her from afar. Nexus and Fang have been playing Chicken fights with Sydney and Percy. Ace has challenged some other elites to fight. Corrode and I have been chilling together under an umbrella. Lastly, Jai was building a sand castle but every now and then he checks on me and I can't help but blush. Two days ago he said he loved me and I could barely let out a response. I told him I'm not sure how I feel but I still want to pursue this. It's weird, if my father found out I'm sure Jai wouldn't want to pursue me anymore.
"Kai," an unfamiliar voice said my name. I turned to see a shiny noivern.
"Blaze," I was surprised. Outside of class, I don't talk to him.
"Don't worry I'm not here to scold you or anything. Actually, I'm here to extend you an invitation," Blaze smiled at me. "During winter break Evergreen is doing a misc festival and we wanted you to be a part of our group," Blaze said.
"Who is we?" I asked.
"Tyler, Axel, Jason, Arthur, Michael, Volcan, Snap, James, and me. Some you have met and others you have heard of. We're also inviting Sydney, Percival, Nexus, Pollon, and you," Blaze explained. That's an odd group of Pokemon. All the Pokemon listed have some special power.
"I'll think about it," I said and went back to relaxing. As time went on I decided to play with the others, of course with Jai by my side.

It was starting to be late afternoon when we noticed the sand on the island started to cave in. It was sinking as if it was quicksand.
"Everyone to the boat!" Tyler commanded and we all did our best. Most of my classmates were able to make it. Looking around I saw Pollon get swallowed up and circling away.
"Pollon!" I stopped and chased her into the sand tsunami she was in.
"Kai, no!" Jai said and he chased after me. I didn't care and chased after Pollon and got sucked into the sand too. I didn't care as long as I got united with Pollon.
"Kai, Help!" Pollon begged. As I took her hand. Looking around I could see more students in the sand. Percy and Sydney got swept up not to mention Aristotle was holding Percy and Sydney. I looked for Jaia and I could see Ace was flying away with him.
"We are missing five students and one teacher, however, I only see four students and one teacher," I could hear someone reporting the situation as we started to fall deep into the sand. I could see the panic and tears on Pollon's face as our deaths were imminent.
"Kai, I can't promise what will happen when we eventually get swallowed up, but I initially came in trying to help your sister. My psychic abilities don't work in the sand for some reason," Pollon explained in a panicked fashion. Was this a trap? Did someone plan this out? This doesn't seem like a natural occurrence. I then heard a ring from my ORB.
'Mystery Dungeon formation,' the automated voice said. A Mystery Dungeon! Those are myths. Then I remembered the labyrinth under the school.
"Tyler! The boat is getting sucked in too. The whole Island is sinking!" I heard shouting. Seems no one is safe.
"Pollon, don't let go!" I shouted before I was submerged. This isn't normal quicksand as I would stay at the top, Pollon and I are sinking further and further. As long as we hold our breath and don't open our eyes. It's weird I didn't think it would end like this.
'Don't worry you will reach the bottom. All of you that are trapped in the sand. Sadly after you all fall through I won't be able to communicate with you. Make sure you use my power to make it out of the Dungeon and that goes for all of the Aces that will be down there with you. We have been notified and sent a search party right away,' it was a message from Dean Lumino. The pressure of it all I was succumbing to it. How much longer am I going to fall into this sand prison?

I was forcefully awakened with heavy coughing and hastily got up from the cold cave floor.
"Kai, are you alright?" I rubbed my eyes and it was Pollon. I continued to cough as I felt a bit weak. "Eat this," She handed me a berry and I ate it. Suddenly, I felt so full of energy. I had wondered what she handed me.
"What did you just give me?" I asked.
"Sitrus berries, I found it on this floor along with some other items," Pollon explained. I started to get my bearings as I got up.
"How long have I been out for?" I asked.
"Not long, I've been awake for about ten minutes. I was waiting for you to wake up to check out the situation. We both pulled up our ORB screens and to our surprise our home screens were different than normal. There was a map of the place we were in. Then next to it was Scorpion Isle and 'BF18' I can only assume means below floor eighteen. On the map, there were blue dots and red dots. Also, we both had two messages and they were both from Blaze. The first message was pushed out to all elite students.
'I hate to say this to the students because we are trapped in a Mystery Dungeon and we have no access to communication outside of this dungeon. I want to say do your best to group up with other lost students and make your way to BF 1. This dungeon isn't safe as there are feral Pokemon who roam here and won't hesitate to kill. You can dispose of them in any way necessary. Once everyone reaches BF1 we will all depart together' The message from Tyler ends. Then there was a second message from him but it was only pushed to Nexus, Pollon, Percy, Sydney Axel, Tyler, Jason, and me.
'Aces we need to do our best to locate the students and keep them from being harmed. Sorry for you five to find out like this but we know of your gifted power from your Overseers. After this is all over we would like for all Aces to meet and talk. For now, do your best to help your fellow students. Also, you should be able to locate other Aces in the dungeon if you focus. I was able to do so when I woke up and was able to locate all of you. I wish you all luck.' The message ends.
"We should get a move on and look for stairs, there's a red dot heading our way," Pollon started to run and I chased after her.
"Can you scan the dungeon and see what enemies we're up against?" I asked her and she came to a halt.
"I might be able to do so but it requires focus. You'll need to guard me," I nodded. She then closed her eyes and a pink glow outlined her body. That's when I heard a growl. I didn't think they would close in on us so soon. I pulled up my ORB map. The red dot closing in on us was bigger than the others I've seen on the map. I hope I can take it down. I then noticed two blue dots on the floor. Must be our classmates.
"Just the guy I've been looking for," I recognize that voice. From the shadows of the cave emerged Percival. Why would Percy be considered an enemy?
"What's going on?" I asked. Percy's aura flared as both rings of water and fire wrapped around him. He already fused with his mega stone but why would he need to?
"A fight. I've been looking forward to it for a while, now come at me!" He shouted.

Percy then came at me and I dodged out of the way. I then left Pollon wide open, however, he didn't attack Pollon and chased after me. I dodged once more and he collided with the cave wall. Debris clouded the area but I wanted to make sure he was okay. I then felt a mass amount of pressure forcing me face-first into the cave floor.
"Show me what you got, or did I overestimate you," he growled lightly in my ear before slicing me on my back with his paw. What is his deal? What is going on?
"Get off me!" I shouted but he didn't budge as I struggled against his weight.
"I guess I was mistaken for the one who has the strongest Ace power, you're pretty weak. I might as well take you out of your misery," Percival let out a prideful growl. "Don't worry, when you die at least your ace power will go to someone useful," Percival prepared to strike.
"Stop it!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. The next thing I heard was static as we both got sucked into a white hole that appeared below us. I felt like we were flowing through space.
"What the, where did you take us," the anger pouring from Percival's voice grew. He was struggling to travel in the space we were in. For me, I could see labels of years and timelines for different worlds.
"We're traveling through an Ultra Wormhole," I said in shock. I must've caused this using Solgaleo's power. I can't navigate us back to where our time is. The thought scares me. The next thing I know I got tackled and it was Percival again. He still wants to fight.
"Just because we're traveling across dimensions I will still get my vengeance," he growled. What is he talking about? Is this how he feels deep down? I'm only getting pieces of the picture here. I won't just take a beat down though.

"You're an idiot! Why are you taking your anger out on me?" A white case enveloped me. I felt flames morph around me and something sprout out from my back and wrap around my face. My tail changed back to yellow and flowed like fire. Yellow fur grew around my paws. I felt my face morph a bit and grew a horn. My shell broke and flames went everywhere. We both blasted a giant flame at each other causing a mess of flames. Percival took his chance and appeared in front of me in an instant using Extreme speed and I knew what came next. He attacked me with blinding speed.
"Doing this is the only way to get back at those who did this to me!" He shouted. I lapped my wings to stabilize myself. If I get him to talk some more maybe I'll understand. I took my chance and wrapped my body around him and crushed him using Superpower. Not to mention my stats rising due to my ability Contrary.
"Not like I did the same thing as them to you! There is no need to attack others," I tried to explain. Percival then splashed water on my face, freeing him from my grip.
"You may be innocent but this is the only way to free my heart. You have no idea what it's like to have your heart and emotion shut off. The shadow program," He said the last few words with fear. A shadow program I wonder what that is.
"ORB record conversation," I whispered into my bracer. Percival took his chance and created a whole bubble around us trapping us in his personal arena while still stuck in Ultra Space.
"Now you can't escape me," Percival attacked from a distance this time. Blasting me with Hydro Pump I dodged by gliding out the way and felt my muscles bulge as I let all the rage I had out.
"Even if fighting is the only way to free your heart, why go out of your way and be nasty about it," I said through gritted teeth as I was in Outrage. Percival was countering my every hit with Play Rough.
"That's what happens when you become a shadow Pokemon, your emotions become closed off and nothing matters to you besides winning and seeing everyone in pain. Though the more I fight alongside you guys my heart gets free more and more," We continued our exchange of blows until Percival hit me right in the jaw sending me flying back. "After my heart is freed I'll go back and show them I'm not a toy. Before I came to school here there was supposed to be a group of us from Kanto," Percival's voice started to crack. He then prepared two powerful attacks. "Then summer came and we got an invite to a lab, let's say we weren't there for a tour. Sydney was sick that week and that's all it took. After a week I was the only one who survived the process," Percival started to explain himself.
" I can't imagine what that was like for you," I wasn't sure how to respond.
"Don't try to sympathize!" Percival then unleashed Hydro Pump and Fire Blast at the same time and I couldn't move due to my fatigue. I got launched into the bubble barrier.
"I don't remember much from when I went home all I did was fight and turned others into shadow Pokemon like me by infecting them with a crystal, up till I lost to Corrode I started to feel again. Then being around all of you my heart started to free itself," Percival was near to tears. So it was him that infected the other students.
"Then why did you show up and attack me initially?" I couched as I moved from the barrier.
"It's one of the side effects, the closer my heart is to being purified I become unstable and find it harder to control myself called reverse mode," Percival explained. He then let out a howl of pain as it looked like he was fighting himself. He then looked at me with the same look when we started this fight and his aura flared back to life. "This conversation is over now let's decide a winner for this fight," Percival growled.
"If that's what you want," I was panting. I'm not sure how much longer I can last. I thought of one last-ditch move. A move I have due to Solgaleo being my Overseer. I started to store energy. Percival came at me again with blazing speed, this time he didn't attack but trapped my body in water. Instantly I found it hard to breathe. A ring of fire wrapped around the water prison I was in.
"Welcome to your boiling prison," Percival laughed. Things started to heat up and then I realized that's how I get out of this water prison. With the energy I have stored up, I can heat up my body to just a thousand degrees Celsius. . . "Detonate!" Right as he said that all the water evaporated and all I got hit by were flames which felt like nothing. "You escaped," Percival seemed surprised.
"Now for the kicker, Take Meteor Beam!" I didn't expect there to be so much power as it sent me flying while it made contact with Percival. Not only that it broke the barrier Percival created, sucking us Back into Ultra Space. We both screamed as we are now traveling aimlessly through alternate dimensions.
'You've reached your limits young one and I'm amazed to see you were able to turn the tides of the fight to make it a draw' It was Lumino. 'There isn't much I can do since you opened the wormhole yourself but I can show you the wormhole back to the moment when you and Percival exactly left so it won't create any paradoxes,' Lumnio explained.
'Please do,' I begged mentally.
'Look for the wormhole with the yellow ring. It will pop up shortly,' Lunio said and I felt our mental link disappear. I then noticed below us there was a yellow-ringed wormhole, latching onto Percival I shot a fireblast up to push us down into the wormhole. We appeared back in the cave right where I left Pollon and she was still meditating. After all of that, we both returned to our normal forms as we lay on the cave floor completely out of energy. To the point, I passed out.

"All the students have been brought back to their dorms safely and none have been injured. Except for Percival and Kai. They are being tended to by the nurse," I walked into the lab to see Blaze and Milo mapping out what happened in Kanto.
"Good," Dean Lumino said from the side of the room. " Blaze, were you able to delete the audio recording from Kai's ORB?" he asked.
"That was the easy part in all of this," Blaze said with confidence. "The hard part is figuring out this shadow Pokemon project Percival was talking about during their fight," Blaze said.
"We were able to find out MT has a lab in Cerulean City and we found reports from this past summer of Pokemon entering and leaving," Tailside said.
"So while MT was using you like a pawn during the Summer Festival, he was conducting experiments of his own," Jason said bitterly.
"It's common that MT would do this; he has labs across the world, and even if he's been imprisoned for almost a year he can still tell others what to do and conduct his experiments. He is big in science after all," Lumnio said without thinking.
"You're telling me, even though he is imprisoned that he still has influence and can communicate with others from where he is imprisoned," Axel seemed to have a bit of rage.
"What did you expect? His power can rival Arceus. Plus he was made genetically to be the strongest Pokemon, he literally experimented on himself for a couple of hundred years," Lumino explained further.
"Where's my father imprisoned?" Blaze asked while still researching.
"He's under personal watch by Lunala and Necrozma in the Ultra Megalopolis, however, no matter how much security we use he will eventually escape like he did many times before," Lumino sighed.
"Found it, the Shadow Pokemon Project. The way to close off hearts artificially so the subject can bring out its full power and listen obediently," Blaze read a file.
"How were you able to get that so quickly?" I was shocked.
"You should know technology is my specialty, but don't praise me just yet. These online documents have been blacked out. Making some of them hard to follow," Blaze said.
"I found Percival's file. Test subject 'M-39'. His process was a success in having his heart closed off and his growth in strength. The main problem is subservience. This can possibly be taught with outside forces," Tailside read some of the notes on Percival's file. " There was an update a month before school started here. The test subject went rogue and stole unstable versions of crystals. To cover up our doings we have decided to shut down the lab as MT wishes," Milo read further.
"That's all the proof we needed. Shut it down for the night," Lumino commanded and we listened. " I hate it but everything is playing out like how Damon said it would," Lumino sighed.
"Who's Damon?" I asked.
"Oh it's Dialga," He answered as we all exited the lab. "Everyone, let's now focus on the upcoming Winter Selection. Even though we know who the last five Aces are they will need to prove themselves in the selection if they will be used come the spring semester in Galor," We all nodded in agreement to what Lumino said.
Percival Grimwater, Sydney Stone, Pollon strife, Macalister Nexus, and Kai Blaze we need you and I hope you all do well.

It seems everything is settling in place for good or for worse. What will happen next? I'm not sure myself. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited about what is to come. A long-awaited dream is going to come to fruition. Those I had to backstab and betray to get where I am just so I could support my leader. Soon it will be me pulling everyone's strings and they won't be able to do anything about it. I yank out one of my feathers and start writing out the invitations for this year's Galor challenge. Of Course, I wrote the ones for Ferrum and Evergreen first. They are my target audience after all. After I finished writing out their invitations I opened a drawer and inside was a necklace and it had a gray pendant.
"It's been over sixteen years, hasn't it? I wonder what the old man will say when he sees me again? That won't matter because after I get my answers, I'll kill him," I let out a chuckle. It's almost time for the show to start and I have a front-row seat. I can only thank MT for this arrangement. Now to go on to phase two and break MT out of prison, we will plunge the world into chaos.
Action: So this chapter initially was going to feature the TA's more: Aristotle, Tyler, Blaze, and Axel. However, this did not happen as it featured Kai and Percival as well as Our Aces.
Kai: Funny thing is Aristotle serves a great purpose coming up soon and Action is having a hard time integrating him right now even though he made him a TA.
Action: I'm sorry but whatever the case he is a character and he serves a purpose like the rest of the cast.
Percival: Probably should have named the chapter Mystery Dungeon: Ultra Space
Action: Whatever.
Pollon: Who was the mystery guy?
Kai: Who are you talking about?
Pollon: *Sigh* Nevermind.
Kai: Up next: Three weeks have passed and it's time for the end-of-the-year finals, the Winter Selection. The first phase is a survival challenge where students can roam the town and fight, but they're eliminated entirely if they lose. This is new and everyone splits off into groups again. Everything doesn't stay friendly for long as our friends, including me, fight with each other. What should we do? Also, my dad came back to watch Nix and me compete, this isn't good. This phase alone is seventy-eight hours, let's see what happens next, Chapter 18: Winter Selection Only on ESA.
