The reason Naruto dies in the first map is simply that there are powerful beasts that sometimes appear both in the first map and in the others. Although not very frequent, there is still a chance. In the original series, the MC died many times because of this.

But, to his surprise, the kunai was sucked into his hand, just like the orbs of light. "Dammit...!" he cursed loudly, frustrated with the situation.
Taking a deep breath, Naruto began to think of a new strategy. This time, when he broke the seal on his other arm, he didn't try to grab the kunai but used the wind art to make it float.
"Hahaha, it worked!" he laughed heartily, relieved to have found a solution. But he knew he couldn't let his guard down, after all, there were still dangerous beasts nearby.
Using his wind control ability, Naruto made the kunai float three meters off the ground and propelled it forward with speed and precision. Then, Naruto disappeared instantly and reappeared above a huge 20-meter-long gray lizard.
Naruto's hand glowed with a red aura while another green wind aura circled both hands. With one hand, he grabbed the kunai without touching it directly, while with the other, he curved his body, increasing the speed and impact, delivering a powerful punch near the lizard's neck.

With the strategy in mind, Naruto chose his next target. He prepared a Rasengan in his right hand and controlled a kunai with his left hand. When he spotted a gray lizard miles away, he threw the kunai in its direction and then appeared beside it, delivering a powerful Rasengan blow.
This time, the impact of the attack was so strong that it opened a huge hole in the beast's stomach, which turned to ashes. Satisfied with the result, Naruto decided to increase his hunting speed and created more five shadow clones to help him with the task. Meanwhile, he collected the orbs that shone on the ground.
