In a spinning blur of robes and limbs (thankfully no vomit as a tornado of it would make for a rather unpleasant voyage), Kingsley Shacklebolt, Septima Vector, Aurora Sinistra, and Terry Boot (he wants to do a mastery in arithmancy and become an Unspeakable and is part of the Calderon-Boot family in the USA, so he opted to train under an American Unspeakable) arrived in front of MACUSA's headquarters in the USA via portkey, although they landed in a tangled heap.
''That was quite a ride,'' remarked Sinistra as the trio disentangled and straightened themselves, ''I wonder what this vortex that the Unspeakables here created is.''
Unlike the British ministry's of magic old traditional brick buildings, MACUSA was the epitome of modernity. It was a tall, steel-gray, sleek skyscraper with lots of large windows, stretching upwards almost into the clouds. The trio looked at it in awe, then entered the reception area.
The American MACUSA president herself -Tammy Tran, a short woman with blonde highlights in her hair and wearing violet robes with a matching hat - awaited the trio, and the two heads of the respective magical communities greeted each other. All four of them took an elevator to the very top floor, where MACUSA's department of mysteries was located.
''Oh yay, here are our expected guests!'' exclaimed a man; with his appearance, it was hard to not notice him. He was a skinny, lanky man (towering above the others in the room) with a prominent Roman nose and wavy -almost frizzy- dark hair tied back in a ponytail cascading down his back. He wore a monocle, but most notable was his choice of outfit: instead of wearing robes, he wore a white lab coat with complex math equations doodled all over it and plain sweatpants and sneakers. He was holding an ink-stained, worn notebook (no time for a break from doing math) with a pen stuck in its spiral.
''I am Dr. Ross Arrow, the chief arithmancer here at MACUSA,'' he said in an energetic voice, ''gotta keep on doing my math. No time to stop, mwahahahaha! Gotta show ya this black hole vortex. It is revolutionary, I am telling ya! I will also give you a tour of the rest of the department of mysteries here.''
The walls, floors, and ceilings of the MASCUSA department of mysteries were entirely black and made out of the same material as chalkboards (gotta be ready to jot down an equation at any time if you have a eureka moment so a convenient writing surface is obviously needed). The hall of this level was dimly lit and winding in a spiral, with differing doors on all four surfaces. Some of the doors on the side walls were wooden and inviting, while others had intimidating brass knockers. The floor had a steel door leading to a bunker, while the ceiling had a concealed door leading to the observatory and radar system.
Near one of the rooms hung a massive, life-sized portrait with 12 regal figures, each of them wearing embroidered uniquely embroidered, hooded robes, but with the hoods down.
''Who are 12 figures?" asked Shacklebolt.
''Ah, we are the 12 original MACUSA Unspeakables,'' replied a tall, thin woman from the portrait. She shared Dr. Ross Arrow's facial features but her long, dark hair was cascading down her back in two braids.
The woman continued, her voice resonating from the portrait, "I am Professor Lavinia Arrow, the first Chief Arithmancer of MACUSA. These individuals here," she pointed to the figures in the portrait, "were the founding members of the MACUSA Department of Mysteries. Each of them specialized in a different branch of magical research and exploration."
She pointed to each figure as she spoke, providing a brief introduction. "This is Professor Seraphina Chase, an expert in time magic. And next to her is Professor Edgar Whitman, renowned for his studies in magical artifacts and their preservation. Then we have Professor Isadora Morgan, a master of divination and prophecy. Beside her is Professor Cornelius Nightshade, a brilliant mind in the field of spell creation and experimentation."
Lavinia continued, "Moving along, we have Professor Cassandra Blackwood, an authority on ancient magical civilizations and archaeology. Beside her is Professor Maximillian D'Amore, an expert in the study of magical creatures and their behavior. Then we have Professor Anastasia Moonshade, a prodigy in the field of mind magic and occlumency. And next to her is Professor Lucius Ravenscroft, a pioneer in the research of astral projection and dream manipulation."
Pointing to the remaining figures, Lavinia said, "Here we have Professor Elara Hawthorne, known for her work in elemental magic and weather manipulation. Next is Professor Magnus Darkwood, an enigma who delved into the mysteries of dark arts and their countermeasures. And then we have Professor Victoria Silverstone, an authority in the field of magical plants and potion brewing. Finally, Professor Atticus Greyson, a leading expert in the study of magical energy and its applications."
Lavinia paused for a moment before adding, "These twelve individuals laid the foundation for the Department of Mysteries and dedicated their lives to unlocking the secrets of the magical world. Their contributions continue to shape our understanding and safeguard our society."
Dr. Ross Arrow chimed in, "Indeed! They were pioneers in their respective fields and their research paved the way for the advancements we continue to make today. As the current Chief Arithmancer, I strive to carry on their legacy and push the boundaries of magical mathematics."

The trio listened attentively, taking in the history and significance of the original MACUSA Unspeakables. It was clear that they were surrounded by a rich tradition of magical exploration and discovery within the walls of the department.
"Now," Dr. Arrow exclaimed, his enthusiasm palpable, "let's not waste any more time! I have equations to solve and a black hole vortex to show you. Follow me, and prepare to be amazed!" With that, he led them deeper into the maze-like hallways of the MACUSA Department of Mysteries, eager to share the wonders that lay trio listened attentively, taking in the history and significance of the original MACUSA Unspeakables. The group followed Dr. Arrow as he navigated the labyrinthine corridors of the MACUSA Department of Mysteries. The walls, adorned with mathematical equations and symbols, seemed to come alive with energy as they walked past. The air crackled with a sense of excitement and discovery.
After a short while, they arrived at a large chamber filled with an array of complex magical apparatuses. In the center of the room stood a massive swirling vortex, its dark energy pulling and distorting the surrounding space. The vortex appeared to be contained within a specially designed containment field, preventing its chaotic power from escaping."Behold, the Black Hole Vortex," Dr. Arrow announced with a mix of pride and awe. "It is a marvel of arithmantic engineering and magical physics. This vortex holds a minuscule singularity, a portal into a realm of immense gravitational forces."
He approached a nearby console, filled with dials, switches, and intricate controls. "Through careful manipulation of magical energy and arithmantic calculations, we have been able to harness and study the properties of this miniature black hole. Its gravitational pull is incredibly intense, creating a distorted space-time continuum around it."
Dr. Arrow adjusted a few settings on the console, and the vortex responded, emitting an eerie glow. "Observe," he said, motioning the group closer. "Watch how objects placed near the event horizon are drawn inexorably towards it."
He picked up a small metal ball and released it near the edge of the vortex. As expected, the ball was immediately caught in the gravitational pull, spiraling towards the singularity. The group watched, fascinated, as the ball disappeared into the vortex, seemingly vanishing from existence."The black hole vortex allows us to study the effects of extreme gravity on magical phenomena," Dr. Arrow explained. "We can observe how spells and magical energies behave in such intense conditions, providing valuable insights into the nature of magic itself."
Kingsley Shacklebolt, Septima Vector, Aurora Sinistra, and Terry Boot exchanged amazed glances, their curiosity piqued by the extraordinary sight before them. The room hummed with the thrill of exploration and the pursuit of knowledge.
Dr. Arrow, still beaming with excitement, turned to the group. "Would you like to see more of the department's mysteries? We have other chambers dedicated to time manipulation, divination, ancient civilizations, and so much more. The possibilities for discovery are endless!"The quartet exchanged intrigued glances and nodded in unison. They were eager to explore the depths of the MACUSA Department of Mysteries and uncover the secrets that awaited them.
"Absolutely," Kingsley Shacklebolt replied, his voice filled with anticipation. "We would be honored to witness the marvels of each chamber and learn more about the magical research being conducted here."
Dr. Arrow's eyes lit up with enthusiasm as he led the group out of the black hole vortex chamber and into the twisting corridors once again. They passed through various doors, each marked with a distinct symbol representing the area of study within.
Their first stop was the chamber dedicated to time manipulation. Upon entering, they found themselves in a room adorned with intricate hourglasses, mystical timepieces, and enchanted artifacts. The air seemed to shimmer with the possibility of altering the flow of time."Here," Dr. Arrow explained, gesturing towards a massive hourglass at the center of the room, "we study the manipulation of temporal energies. We explore the intricacies of time travel, temporal paradoxes, and the effects of altering the timeline. It's a delicate field, but one that holds immense potential for understanding the nature of time itself."
Next, they ventured into the divination chamber, where a collection of crystal balls, tarot decks, and scrying mirrors adorned the shelves. The room was filled with an ethereal aura, tingling with the anticipation of glimpsing into the future.
"In this chamber," Dr. Arrow continued, "we delve into the art of divination. We seek to unravel the secrets hidden within the threads of destiny. Our Unspeakables study various divinatory techniques, from tarot readings to tea leaf readings, aiming to gain insight into the paths that lie ahead."
The group then proceeded to the chamber dedicated to ancient civilizations, stepping into a space adorned with ancient relics, scrolls, and meticulously crafted replicas of lost wonders. It was a sanctuary of history, where the past whispered its secrets."Here," Dr. Arrow explained, his voice filled with reverence, "we uncover the forgotten chapters of magical history. We delve into the rise and fall of ancient civilizations, deciphering ancient texts and artifacts to shed light on the magical practices of our ancestors. It's a constant journey of discovery and respect for those who came before us."
The quartet listened attentively, their minds expanding with each new revelation. They were captivated by the breadth and depth of knowledge that the MACUSA Department of Mysteries encompassed.
As they explored more chambers, including those dedicated to magical creatures, spell creation, astral projection, and magical energy, the group's fascination grew. Each room offered a unique glimpse into the mysteries of the magical world, and Dr. Arrow eagerly shared his expertise and insights.
Hours turned into an enthralling journey, as the quartet delved deeper into the heart of magical exploration. They reveled in the exchange of knowledge, the unraveling of secrets, and the shared passion for pushing the boundaries of magical every step they took, the quartet grew more connected to the legacy of the original MACUSA Unspeakables and the vibrant community of magical researchers and scholars that carried their torch.
Together, they continued their exploration, eager to unlock the remaining chambers and immerse themselves in the wonders that the MACUSA Department of Mysteries had to offer.
