Chapter 2
A Sharp ache that bellowed from her face caused her to gasp awake in pain. The Intense Pain was burning so she opened her green eyes while breathing harshly through her mouth as she realized her nose was the source of the agony. Looking around her dark small, midsize kitchen for a moment before trying and failing to reach out to her bloody nose as she felt the tight leather belts around her wrists. Her head looked down only to look back up due to nausea that caused her brain to stab itself in joy.
Yet she was able to see and now feel the pinching restraints along her torso and legs that bound her to a chair. For a couple of seconds, confusion cluttered her mind before everything came to her. The Murders. The Curfews. The Escape Plan. The Dark Grey Blob.
Her Fear sparked as she glanced around her while struggling against her bonds. Her Darkened midsize kitchen was simple in design with a U-shaped black marble countertop with pristine white cabinets starting at the humming two-panel refrigerator on her right and going around the kitchen. A silver amount of moonlight entered at the small window above the sink to her left whose light was overshadowed by the small burning candlelight on the opposite side of her pine wood kitchen table that showed her the array of future pain-making weapons she did not want to be by.
Seeing no sign of her kidnapper she tries to free herself by scraping and rocking in her oak wood chair across her oak wood floors to no avail. Her movement stopped after a while due to nausea and pain in her broken nose. She breathed heavily through broken and missing teeth while spitting the disgusting mixture of blood and snot running from her broken nose every so often to keep her airway open.
Then the pop of a cork made her tense and alert in a second as her eyes trained toward the sound in front of her. It was there on the edge of the candlelight standing in the doorway was a figure. The Hot sizzle of cold liquid meeting high heat rang throughout the kitchen before the dark figure moved over the creaky floorboards just past the threshold.
Her Heart leaped in her throat as bandaged feet in black sandals came into view with what looked to be blood-stained baggy blue pants. With a long sleeve half-black half white shirt under black and brown belts that held different colored glass balls across his chest.
As he moved closer toward her, she watched the light grace what should be his neck and head, but instead, she saw something that reminded her of those Eldritch Abominations she read about from H.P. Lovecraft. Dark shadowy tentacles moved every which way like whisps of clouds moving about. It covered his whole head somehow being darker than the darkest shadows moving twisting like a bunch of snakes in a basket. Ignoring the candlelight as if it was not even there, not allowing its bright flare to shed light upon the boy's head at all.
Then as if to complete the horror picture two blood-red eyes seem to just float there in the middle baring down on her like a hawk.
The Sheer fear she felt looking at those blood-red eyes made her renew her struggles so violently the heavy oak chair started to creak. The whole while, however, she could not look away for looking away from those eyes, she just felt to be a death sentence of unimaginable horror.
It wasn't long until he was right in front of her now, making her realize that her end was now, she was the last as far as she knew anyway. She wouldn't get to see her daughter grow into a woman of her own; she wouldn't get to tell her husband how much she loved him.
Hot tears came and there was nothing to stop their descent down the slopes of her cheeks as she cried knowing she had brought this on herself. She looked upon her killer and watched as he grabbed the spiked rusted hammer in his right hand without taking his eyes off her at all.
She could only look on as he raised his arm back tightening her hold on the chair. Her heart now racing like a racehorse within her breast while the image of herself superimposed over him and it was at that moment, she realized this is what he must have felt. The all-consuming fear with the soul-crushing threat of bodily harm only moments away she took that sharp intake of breath watching almost in slow motion the reel of her life passed before her eyes.
Realizing as the hammer neared that she was a monster afraid of a human child with a grudge. As Blood splattered across a wooden planked floor and a scream of pain joined a scream of joy justice was served.
The Moon was high showering Konoha with its blessed lunar light as shadows of ninjas danced across rooftops. One male ninja danced in a unique style across red tiles with the soft grace of water flowing over stones. Quiet footfalls barely made any sound as he glided from rooftop to rooftop stopping every so often to look around diligently for any threats. While at the same time having a parts amusing part crazy conversation with his best friend through his earpiece.
"Agh…Anko. No." replied an exasperated male baritone.
"Come oooonnnn! Just once, pleassseeee! Don't make me do the face! You know you can't resist the face!" A Low Sultry yet playful feminine timbre echoed in his earpiece.
"Anko! I can't even see you right now! what good would that do?" Shaking his head while brushing one of the shaved sides of his dark pink hair.
The Man's 50kg green flank jacket bounced against his medium-built frame covered in the standard dark blue top and bottom of Jonin's attire. Cool Blue eyes scanned the area while the quirk of his lips stayed in a small smile.
"Ha! To tell you, I know for a fact you have nearly perfect recall. This means that even if you can't see me if I do the voice, your mind will recall how I look, and you will give in! Give it up, Kishi-chan, you're mine now! Muhaha!" Anko laughs diabolically, making Kizashi Haruno wonder why they were friends again.
Of course, being one of the few men who can call Anko Mitarashi a friend is a privilege; at least, that's what she tells him from time to time. After the Orochimaru incident, many believed her to be a spy, or some snake-lady hybrid left by Orochimaru to devour all of Konoha. So, it was almost too easy for her to be ostracized by everyone then along with her trust issues and you have one closed-off individual. Surprisingly enough, after the incident, he was the first to call her friend and was the first to be called her best friend. They somehow always end up working together here and there over the years to the point that some called them "work married." A term his wife felt a little threatened by considering Anko was younger, single, and if he does not lie to himself damn hot.
His internal monologue was cut short by the sickeningly sweet high-pitched voice blaring in his ear. Which annoyingly enough made his brain conjure up the image of a softly rounded jawline with full pink lips always ready to be turned into a smile or a smirk at the drop of a hat. A small, cute nose that she wrinkles when annoyed without detracting from her beauty or her sparkling pupilless eyes that show like amber in light or grow dark as coal when serious. All framed by a curtain of dark rich amethyst hair that is just her no words can describe it.
"Goddamn, Anko!" He groaned, rubbing his hand down the pink fringe in front of his pink heated cheeks.
"Ha! I knew it would work! Now say it!" She yelled excitedly.
Kizashi gave another exasperated sigh before talking in the most deadpan voice.
"Agh…Snake minion one here."
"Haha! I love it! Once I get everyone else on board, I shall finally take over the world!"
"Anko." Cut in a bored-sounding low baritone tone of another male's voice.
"What is it, Kakashi? Do we have action?" Anko asked, excited and curious simultaneously.
"Hmm. Nothing like that; just wanted to let you know you do know the whole squad can hear you two, including HQ, right?"
"Yes, and Your point?"
"The Point, Anko, is to stop using the comm channel as your soapbox and get back to work." Said the grave voice of Ibiki Morino in a no-nonsense tone.
"I am working. I was merely trying to lighten the mood."
A Collective sigh was heard on the comms from several people at once before it went quiet again.
"Humph. Keep being you, Anko." He could practically see the smirk on her face as she replied a second later. "Always! Kishi! Hehe!"
Kizashi could only wear a smirk, hearing Anko's reply as he jumped to another rooftop. Just as he was going to say something more, he felt goosebumps break out on his skin and the hair rise on the back of his neck. Making him stop immediately and turn his head toward what he felt was a familiar chakra spike. The spike felt familiar yet foreign, which put him on edge. He waited, just trying to see if it was a fluke or not, yet after ten minutes, when it happened again, he knew something was up.
"This is Haruno reporting I feel a chakra spike close to my position toward the east requesting permission to engage?"
"Haruno, what's your current position?" Ibiki's voice sounded on the comms.
"Quadrant 5 residential 5 km south 16 km west."
"I have you. I want teams 3 and 4 to divert from their route and stand on standby, just in case. Haruno, I'm permitting you to engage and start reporting when you get to the source."
"Roger!"
"Hey, I'm close by in Quadrant 4! Lemme back Kishi up!"
"Negative, Anko. You can also be on standby if this turns out to be a false alarm, I'd rather one ninja be stooped than two."
Kizashi moved slowly toward the source of the spikes jumping a little at a time. When he found the origin, he was confused and felt fear climbing his back.
"I've found the source inside a house…it's… my house."
"Haruno-bzzzt!" Kizashi knew he would get many flanks for this, but he knew protocol would have him wait for backup or be barred from entering entirely. So, after removing his earpiece and putting it away, he jumped down to the street and walked to the door of his two-story home with his heart pounding thinking about finding his family dead as soon as he entered.
So, after a breath to calm himself, he goes to unlock the door when he spies something pink behind the trashcans. He looks over to see his wife's travel bags wondering why they were there. He filed the thought away later to find out later and grabbed the doorknob, and then he stopped just shy of pulling his key. He remembered what happened to the last victim and decided an unexpectedly softer entry was better. So, with a small burst of chakra and hand signs, he appeared inside next to the front door.
The first thing that made him tense was the strong smell of blood in the air, and he knew from experience that you wouldn't get that smell so strong without a lot of blood. The House was quiet and dark except for a flicking of soft yellow light he could see coming from the kitchen. His Eyes took in the wooden staircase to his left as well as the shadowed furniture of their living room seeing no disturbance. He then removed a kunai slowly from his vest pocket while moving toward the kitchen stopping once at the staircase.
Kizashi then held a familiar cross sign to summon a clone that wasted no time moving up the stairs quickly and quietly. The Real Kizashi felt as like hours had passed instead of minutes as he waited to hear from his clone. His worry for his family increases by the second making him want to join his clone's search to just do something instead of worry.
Then the familiar tingle in the back of his mind hit just as a rush of memories flashed before his eyes. There was relief at finding his daughter Sakura was safe then his stomach dropped so he almost dropped his kunai in surprise as feelings of anger, betrayal, and pain flooded his being. His fist holding his kunai tightened as his mind tried to process what he just learned. He stumbled back almost as if hit by some unseen foe as his ninja mind correlated the dots in his mind of the last year or so seemed to just make sense.
His wife was many things but not even he suspected that she was capable of the horrors he'd seen those monsters inflicted on a single child. His ninja mind with almost perfect recall began going over his interactions with his wife at that time and it took no time at all to spot little things at first. Knowing what he knows now began to almost throw the signs in his face signs, he ignored signs that made him question his ability as a ninja. If a mere academy drop-out civilian nurse could hide such a thing from him what else had he missed over the years?
He was Jonin a former anbu at that a Konoha shinobi of the highest order and he missed the pure fact that his wife who held no love for a boy who was already hated would eventually act on such feelings. It almost made him laugh at how he has failed as a Konoha shinobi. How he 's failed as a husband and a father his breath hitched at that as he thought about his daughter. She would be devastated her mom was her world as she was his this would kill her. Would they be kicked out or will he be jailed with his wife leaving his daughter in the foster system? Is she even still alive now? Watery blue eyes looked at the flicking yellow light not ten feet away and he wondered did he even wanted to save her. The Very woman who has placed her feelings above him above their daughter above the village they live in.
He closed his eyes letting the warm tears fall only to quickly wipe them away with his forearm as his Sakura's chubby cheek five-year-old face flashed in his mind. Opening his eyes, looking at the flickering yellow light, he found his resolve and adopted a cautious stance with his kunai raised moving forward. He decided then if his wife was alive, he would save her for Sakura and if not then he'd make sure to bring her killer in so at least then he could apologize to the boy proper for his wife's misdeeds.
Turning around the wall that separated the kitchen from the living room he saw the source of the yellow light being a candle on the kitchen table. That showcased his wife tied to a chair beaten and bloody with her head pitched forward with blood splashed all around her. For a second the thought of her death still filled him with pain despite her actions, but upon closer inspection, he could see her breast moving to let him breathe slightly easier as he crept closer.
As he crossed the threshold, he heard a creak of the floorboards to his right. Immediately he ducked and jumped forward in a combat roll just as a shower of wood chips splashed across his back. Once on his feet, he pivots right, throwing his only weapon with an outstretched right arm, only to hear the dull clunk of it hitting wood missing the target. Not sure if it was due to the height difference or his guilt for missing just as the boy loomed over him.
He quickly placed his right arm in defense only for a beat later to cry out as a heavy blow broke his forearm, but as it rose for another hit, he grabbed the handle with his left arm. Slamming the handle back of the offending weapon into the boy's chest, hearing glass break as a plume of foul-smelling smoke reached him, but did not stop him from lashing out by using the force of his back swing to extend the hammer out at its full length. Smashing into naruto's side hearing the break of clay and a cry before flinging him across the kitchen.
Using the heavy weapon as a brace he stood up only to dodge a ball of glass as it was flung at the right side of his face stumbling in front of the kitchen table. Only for another to hit him in his brow above his right eye just as fast footsteps smashed a small body into him taking the table and him down.
Kizashi quickly pushed the boy off using his hips and left arm to push him toward the entrance. It was then he saw the splash of fire shoot up behind the boy as if he were coming from hell. Naruto glanced back as well then, their eyes met angry blood reds to pained blues.
"Run get out of here!" He yelled as he looked away first trying to get to his feet.
He thought his demand would go unheard, but a second later fast footsteps went away from him before the sound of breaking glass letting him know he jumped out the kitchen window.
Taking short breaths to not breathe in whatever smoke was released into the air as the flames rushed to the ceiling he turned back to his wife. Upon grabbing her he wasted no time sending chakra through them both visualizing outside and released the jutsu.
"I've found the source inside a house…it's… my house." She had known Kizashi for a while now so she could easily pick up the dread in his voice as he spoke. When hearing that Anko knew she had to help.
After hearing the subsequent tell-tell of his mike going dead she just decided then she'd take whatever punishment Ibiki dulls out, but she was helping her friend no matter what. She didn't waste a second jumping toward Kizashi's location at full speed.
"Haruno-bzzzt! Damn him! Anko- "I'm already 15 km away! I'll play lookout nurse while waiting for backup med!" Ibiki sighed but decided it was less of a headache to deal with instead of telling her to stay put.
"Team 3 and 4 status report!"
"Team 3 ETA ten minutes."
"Team 4 ETA twenty minutes. Had to break up a domestic dispute."
Anko frowned a bit when she heard they were not breaching immediately, which made her want to take matters into her own hands. However, she knew flaunting the rules of command once might slide, but a second made her grit her teeth hoping against hope Kizashi, and his family was safe.
She soon arrived jumping in front of the house and about to radio in when Kizashi with his bloody wife appeared in a burst of wind.
"Shit! Hold on Kizashi I got You!" Anko wasted no time grabbing his wife and putting her on her back off Kizashi.
"Hey, I got Kizashi and his wife I need a med team here now!"
"Roger that! ETA 5 minutes!"
"Kishi you good?! Where's Sakura?!" she asked as she began performing triage on his wife.
"Yamanaka." His broken tired sounding tone almost made her stop what she was doing. In all the time she's been with Kizashi she's never heard such a tone from him, so it was surprising to her in all the wrong ways.
"Kizashi you good?!" He coughed a couple of times before sitting up and moving almost at a snail's pace to grab his bandages from the pouch to wrap what she could tell was a broken forearm.
"Kishi, what happened?" She asked as she was still trying to wrap his wife who was bleeding everywhere. The fact he was not in a rush to help was telling her something went very wrong in the house, but when her eyes met his then she watched him look at his wife with a frown. It told her that something major had happened between him and his wife and something told her it wasn't nice.
Twenty minutes earlier
"Agh…Anko. No." Kakashi sighed as he heard the "married couple" at it again for the third or was it the fourth week?
Kakashi was still having problems with keeping his days and weeks straight despite being released from anbu for almost eight whole months. ANBU was different from the regular force's days, months, and weeks easily blended from mission to mission. He never had to keep track in ANBU. All that mattered was what the next mission was who's his team was and what should he expect on said mission.
ANBU's time tracking was a mission, training, more mission eight months prior that was gospel to him now it wasn't. Now he spent his time maybe going on the occasional mission doing what Anko calls "his brooding time" at the memorial stone reading Icha-Icha then just relaxing. It was strange in the beginning to have just so much time for himself and not on a mission, but he adapted mostly by doing some insane challenge might guy thought up or sparing with the old team when they were in.
Then these murders popped up and put the village on edge again only a year after another one of his failures. Now he just wished things would go back to normal so he could read his book, but until then guess he'd just have to be content with getting through another night of patrol.
"Haha! I love it! Once I get everyone else on board, I shall finally take over the world!"
"Anko."
"What is it, Kakashi? Do we have action?" Anko asked, excited and curious simultaneously. It made him wonder if the rumors about her secretly being the energizer ninja were true.
I was merely trying to lighten the mood." Kakashi could only shake his head at this while sighing once again while his reading hand twitched for his book.
Then Kizashi seemed to have found something only to cut his mike upon realizing that whatever was going on was happening at his house. Kakashi didn't waste time signaling his team to move right as the signal cut.
"Team 3 and 4 status report!"
"Team 3 ETA ten minutes."
"Team 4 ETA twenty minutes. Had to break up a domestic dispute."
"Team 3 you are weapons hot, but I want a capture, not a dead body."
"Roger that."
Kakashi and his team just hit the roof of an alleyway to the house in question and were about to tell his team to breach. When the sound of breaking glass and burning black smoke caught his attention. He looked down in the alley to see a short figure trying to get up from coming out a window that was puffing black smoke.
"Kakashi here. A suspect has been spotted going to engage and will need fire support for the Haruno household."
"Roger that Kakashi fire support on the way!"
Kakashi and his team then used chakra to flash down on the ground around the suspect just as they popped a red flare that momentarily blinded them as it streaked in the air and blew. When he opened his eye, he could see the short-sized suspect now running while holding his side. His teammates and he would have given chase if not for the orange glow of a molotov cocktail that had an explosion tag attached to it falling right between them.
"Scatter!" He got off just as it exploded causing liquid fire to spray everywhere.
Second later after four logs were burning as he and his team appeared outside the splash zone. Then Doors burst open with men and women having orange and black face paint with vivid blue attire swarmed out of two buildings and attacked them with a scream and makeshift weapons.
Just as he saw more Molotov's fly down from open windows, he glance down the way to see his suspect fleeing onto the main street before ducking a woman with a club and then teaching her why she shouldn't do that. It became clear fast that this backup for their suspects was not trained whatsoever and while it was easy dealing with them it was time-consuming considering there were so many of them vs just the four of them.
His earpiece painted a similar situation all over Konoha in fact that made him realize this had to be planned, but to what end was the question, and that made him nervous. He just elbowed a man in the face with a mop with what looked like broken glass in its ropes of cotton, when the familiar presence of Neko just behind him caught a sword going for his back with her own.
"Kakashi, we got this lot! You go grab the mastermind!"
"Don't gotta tell me twice! Team 3 on me!" He yelled while running toward the main street. By the time they regrouped and moved to the main street, there was chaos everywhere teams fighting men and women all over the street, but he only had an eye for one male. Whom he found just shy of two hundred feet going straight down the street. They used chakra to quickly move between the random battles to get to their target.
Once through they were running right behind their target, yet as they neared more Molotov's rained down on them having them spread out in order not to get caught. Just as four carts were pushed out into the width of the street crashing together caused their front panels to drop just as fireworks came streaming out toward them. As Kakashi saw the multiple obstacles in their way he quickly decided to grab his headband over his left eye pulled it up and opened his left eye to reveal his Sharingan.
"I'm going ahead join me when you're done here!" Kakashi didn't wait for a reply as everything around him slowed allowing him to move far more efficiently as he ducked and weaved from the Molotov throws to the fireworks flying at him.
To the untrained eye the moment Kakashi revealed his Sharingan he became a master dancer tucking and ducking without losing an ounce of momentum almost to the degree that you thought you were watching a ghost instead of a man. This was why it was such a shock to the middle cartmen to see him one moment fifty yards away to the next to be jumping between the gap of their carts like an Olympian.
Kakashi sent chakra to his legs immediately the instant his feet touched the ground, boosting muscles to fly across the ground at an almost inhuman speed. Catching up to the boy as if he was always behind him in the first place. So, it was child's play to reach out and grab both brown and black belts which were going to halt his moment in the next second if not for a ninja star cutting the straps while at the same time, Kakashi pivoted his forwarding foot to spin himself just enough to turn his face away from the demon windmill shuriken.
Thanks to his Sharingan still active he came out his spin with kunai at the ready to block the overhead tanto strike, which he pushed away unfortunately in his way to catch the boy heading straight for the Hokage mansion.
Kakashi could tell this assailant was different from the others by the red demon kabuki mask black crop top and bottoms along with the stance he didn't recognize. Instead of attacking immediately though his opponent just stood in said stance this was not so much an attack as it is a stall tactic. Which from the distance his suspect was getting away it was working, but not for long.
Kakashi rushed forward and lashed against his foe in a rapid display of attacks, parries, and thrusts showering the occasional sparks as their weapons collided. He noticed after a few blows that his opponent has been trained to take on Sharingan users seeing as for every predicted blow his arms, legs, or body would blur at the last second changing what would have been an ending fight blow into a countered attack each time.
So, after a punch that turned into a kick to the solar plexus that pushed him back a third time he frowned under his mask as every minute he wasted here allowed his real goal to escape.
A shadow moving over his opponent's right shoulder allowed him to watch the boy he was tracking running to the left of the mansion instead of directly toward it which let him know he was on borrowed time seeing as if he lost sight of his target, it gave them a greater chance at escaping.
So, in an instant Kakashi pulled another kunai and flashed in front of his enemy, swiping at his head, then using chakra to move his arm under his enemy's chin in a second, having the masked fiend blur his head away, then having to do the same for his body.
Not expecting to stop a kunai just barely skimming his bare belly he grabbed Kakashi's arm and then used the other to clash with Kakashi's other kunai, only for that kunai to disappear a second before impact allowing Kakashi to grab his tanto fist. Then Kakashi flared his chakra as lighting chakra in cased them both.
A minute later Kakashi's opponent lost color before melting into black ink. Kakashi didn't care that it was a clone, instead, he worried if he could still complete his mission. When he ran forward placing his headband back to conserve what little chakra he had left now, he saw no signs of the boy as he looked down the street. Yet he did hear the heavy huffs of someone tired combined with the clump-clump of tiring legs and it led him to the stairs that led to the top of the Hokage mountain.
Kakashi waited until the sounds became distant before using his chakra and flashing right in front of the boy on the top steps. Kakashi however was the surprised one considering the red glaring eyes against pitch darkness that glared at him from behind a glass ball containing a greenish liquid not three center meters from his face.
At the last second, he flared his chakra again for the glass ball to smash against a log as Kakashi flashed behind the boy and kicked him forward with a chakra-enhanced kick that shot the boy chest first into the fourth's head railing at the edge. Kakashi watched as the boy picked himself off the now bent railing only to fall on it again then he slowly turned going to the ground to lean on it as he coughed some blood trying to breathe.
Kakashi, guess he kicked a little too hard then he glanced at the log that the glass exploded on and saw that half the log was smoking as the green liquid ate through it. Now he was glad he dodged that as he approached the boy with caution, not knowing if he had more acid balls on him or not.
"I can get you medical treatment if you surrender and come with me peacefully." He said seeing as the boy was still having trouble breathing.
The Boy hit his chest for a moment finally getting his cough under control a minute later then he looked at Kakashi before a gritty rasp of a voice came from him.
"H-Hello Inu." The voice stopped Kakashi cold as he knew that voice.
The Pitch darkness surrounding the boy's head seem to slowly fade as his blood-red eyes bleed blue and after a minute or so the moonlight revealed the white bandages that covered the child, he knew from head to foot. With deep dark blues now, he could still see the deep hatred that was there in his red ones, but also a profound sadness that was there too.
"Naruto…" There wasn't much to say for now he knew who was behind the killings he understood why they happened even though no evidence was found he could guess naruto didn't forget their faces. The Civilians were probably part of that fanatic group that believes naruto was some fox god or something he had been hearing about as of late. Though it was the ninjas specifically the ones that used ink that worries him had they had prior contact? Were they with an outside force? If so, who?
There were too many questions surrounding this and that was bad. He looked at the boy now defeated and- the ground rumbled and shook suddenly as explosions rattled the ground around them. Cracks and fissures began to crawl along the ground as dust flew everywhere. Kakashi quickly used chakra to try and steady himself while looking toward naruto who was still just leaning against the rail.
"Naruto! What have you done?!"
Naruto said nothing as more explosions went off right behind Kakashi knocking him to the ground as a sinking feeling was apparent in both their stomachs. Kakashi could only look on in shock as the face of the first Hokage slowly fell away from the rock face. Then a loud crackling fissure spread across in front of him along with the screeching of metal being pulled and torn apart.
(I recommend listening to Cowboy Bebop OST 1 – Rain on YouTube for this)
Naruto could feel his back pitch back before the ground beneath him shifted going forward. His Dark blue eyes met Kakashi's surprised single black one without emotion only to watch the man try to reach for him screaming something he didn't catch just as a flood of dirt blocked his view. His view changed as he felt the metal railing, he was on seemed to disappear and his body slid off the rock throwing him in the air.
He looked up as his body felt weightless, he thought about his current situation feeling dare he say a little happy. He was able to kill those that tormented him in his dreams and awake. Maybe the last one would live, maybe not he didn't care anymore nothing mattered anymore. He knew destroying the Hokage faces would not kill the whole village, but it would be enough with his revenge complete he thought it fitting to do one last prank.
As he fell his mind wandered tiredly, going to some of his happiest memories. The Day a Twelve-year-old Ayame found him scavenging for food behind her family restaurant. The First time he met Teuchi was through Ayame after she urged him to come into the shop. The First time he had ramen sitting on a stool with Ayame and Teuchi smiling at him. Even in the bad times when he would run away from angry shop owners because of a prank or just cause a past Ayame would always hide him.
The Times Ayame would allow him to sleep on the floor of her room when the mobs surrounded his home. Or when he ran out of money due to being overpriced, she would give him free ramen in exchange for taking out the trash.
He opened his watery eyes feeling exhaustion creep in looking at the stone face of the fourth's head falling forward with a large crack across it. He was just about to close his eyes when saw a giant tree root emerging from the rock face grabbing the fourth's head along with stone pillars that flew from the ground below him only to push the stone head back up.
It was here naruto saw a large red plume in the smoke above the stone head before a kunai sped toward him. Naruto watched as his vision was slowly going dark as the kunai sped toward him. Only the kunai centimeters from his body disappeared just as strong arms grabbed him in a hug before all went dark.
