Chapter 5: Toad Sage Jr (4/4)
Wow, this is just like I imagined. Which is pretty disappointing. That was the opinion of the white haired as he sees the Kusagakure.
Both father and son took a relatively amount of time to arrive at the Village Hidden in the Grass. Not exactly a pleasant trip, mainly because it was pretty unremarkable. Except for the lessons, about the Jutsu that his uncle created, everything else was pretty boring.
His father, while on the trip explained about the Rasengan. Basically, the Rasengan is a spinning ball of chakra formed and held in the palm of the user's hand.
The Rasengan is a spinning ball of chakra formed and held in the palm of the user's hand, which is only known to a handful of shinobi. It was created by his godfather Namikaze Minato, which he based on the Tailed Beast Ball. He spent three years creating the Rasengan, which he intended to be the highest form of shape transformation. Because it represents the high form of shape transformation, mastering the Rasengan also grants the user a great deal of mastery over shape transformation, even if they are unaware of the concept of shape transformation. At least, that was his father's explanation.
He also explained, that it requires extremely refined chakra control, something that very few ninja naturally possess. For this reason, the Rasengan is difficult to master. In order to help others gain the necessary chakra control, learning to use the Rasengan is broken into three steps:
Rotation - the user learns to spin their chakra in multiple directions at once. To help in this regard, users may be given a water balloon so that they can mark their progress by the churning water; this step is complete once the users is able to burst the balloon with their chakra. It is important for the user to know which direction their body naturally spins its chakra for this step (clockwise or counter-clockwise).
Power - the user must increase the volume and density of chakra they output. To help in this regard, users may be given a rubber ball: there is no water inside to help them burst the exterior and the rubber shell is thicker than a balloon's.
Containment - the user must combine the first two steps into a contained sphere. To help in this regard, users may be given a balloon to help them visualise the intended shape; if the balloon is popped or otherwise moves, mastery is not yet achieved.
After receiving the explanation, Jiraiya handed Seiryu a water balloon in order for him to get started. Although, he does have a refined chakra control. Seiryu had relative difficult. He had to repeat the process over and over again. Soon enough, he was able to burst the balloon.
The time he had finally completed the first step, it was when they arrived.
"So... Where is she?" Seiryu asked his father.
"I don't know, we have to search for her." His father replied.
As soon as he heard that, the Senju heir had a thought. Wait, what exactly was the description? He realized that he didn't really know, how does Uzumaki Kushina looks like. "Ummm... What does she look like?"
"She's easily distinguished by her red hair which is a common trait in the Uzumaki Clan." His father explained. "I used to have a photo of her, but I lost it, so we'll have to go with that."
Seiryu raised an eyebrow. "How exactly did you lost that photo?"
"Umm..." Jiraiya actually lost it while he was running away from a woman that caught him spying in her as she was bathing on a river. "Doesn't matter."
He definitely lost it while doing something perverted. Seiryu easily figured it out as his father was very predictable in that regard. "Okay, so... Let's find a place for us to stay for the night and we'll split up from there to look.
"Agreed."
It didn't took long for both father and son to find a small inn to stay for the night. The inn wasn't in the best of conditions. After renting a... Somewhat decent room, both went on their separate ways to search. Seiryu left his Katana and utility belt behind as there was no reason to bring it along with him. He also left his forehead protector there as he really didn't need the people of Kusagakure wondering why there was a shinobi from another village there.
Jeez, this place is dead. It was Seiryu's thought as he walks around the village. The whole place was in bad condition. Some stores and homes had broken windows, there was a lot of dirt on the streets and honestly, he had a feeling that the locals were staring at him as he passed through them. This place gives me a very uneasy feeling. The Senju heir was indeed feeling very uneasy, Kusagakure gave him a strange feeling, the feeling that there's something really bad going on there. He looks up at the sky as he walked. There's going to be a storm soon. He could tell. Dad and I will probably have to wait for it to pass before we make our way back. Seiryu could use the Flying Thunder God technique to go back, but he honestly didn't got used to the technique yet and he didn't know if the distance would have an effect on the effectiveness of it. Which he really didn't want to risk it, yet.
Soon enough, after a short walk around the village. Seiryu started to get hungry. So he decided to check a convenience store to buy something to eat. Upon finding a very precarious looking store and decided to see if there was something to buy. His options were limited though, as the store was relatively empty. The only eatable thing visible, was a bag of chips. That will do. He thought as he picked up.
Suddenly, someone entered the store. Two someones to be more precise. Both apparently were shinobi, as he saw them wearing the Kusagakure's forehead protector. Damn, I know that you shouldn't judge someone based on appearance, but those two look like jerks. Seiryu thought as both looked like mean guys. One had spike hair, while the other had a shaved head.
"My arm still hurt." The one with spike hair complained. His arm appeared to be broken. Just by looking, he could tell that it was pretty damaged and it would take some time to heal it.
"Quit your damn whining, it will take a single bite to heal it." The one with the shaved head replied. He had several bruises on his face. They didn't look so good.
Bite? Seiryu thought in confusion, wondering if he actually misheard it. It will definitely take more than whatever they are talking about it to heal it. Seiryu was not on his mother's level in terms of medical knowledge but he was in a level high enough to know what a bad bruise looked like.
He ultimately decided to ignore those guys, and just pay for the chips on the counter before going his way.
As he eat the chips, he had a few thoughts on his mind. Is she really in this village? He genuinely wondered. Because he couldn't understand what would be the purpose of staying in place like that. According to grandpa, she disappeared a week after uncle Minato was killed. Did his killer had something to do with her disappearance? It was a possibility. Uzumaki Kushina is the Jinchuuriki of the Nine Tails. Making her a person of importance and I'm pretty sure that her disappearance greatly hurt the reputation of Konohakagure. He eat another chip. She's the second Junchiriki after Uzumaki Mito, my great-grandmother. He only saw her on a photo once, but he remembers her unique looking red hair. Which was basically his only frame of reference in this search.
Walking around the village, looking for a specific person was no easy task. Especially since no one will talk to him for some reason. As he tried to ask for information but some would just give him an excuse or ignore him. Which annoyed Seiryu. Are they hiding something? He wondered in confusion.
Soon enough, it was starting to get dark and he decided to go back to the inn and practice the Rasengan a bit more.
He doesn't look to impressive, but appearance can be misguide. Unknowingly to the Senju Heir, someone was following. Watching him from afar. It was guy that had tousled neck-length white hair, a strong chin, and dark purple eyes. He was wearing black wristbands with thick purple rope wrapped around his chest over a tan shirt, and black trousers. Kabuto told me to try to kill him, but through a direct attack. He remembered his orders. I can't do that in the opening like that, and I can't attack him while the Toad Sage is around either. He knew that he was no match against Jiraiya. Once he's on a secluded area, by himself, I'll attack him.
"Dammit!" Seiryu complained as the rubber ball keeps moving. "What am I doing wrong?"
After a failed search, he just went back to the inn in order to wait for his father. He was currently trying to complete the second step of the Rasengan. Which was bursting a rubber ball.
He kept on repeating the process over and over again but to no success. But Seiryu isn't someone that quits, so he will keep going until he gets it right.
Suddenly, the door of the room opens it. "Hey, I brought dinner." His father entered the door carrying a bag of something.
"Any luck?" Seiryu asked as he put the rubber ball down.
"None, I tried to ask around but..." His father replied before sitting down.
"They either gave excuses or ignored you." He complete what he was saying.
"Yes, though, one of them seemed to have been bothered when I asked if he saw a red headed women." His father told him as he pulled something out of the bag. It was chicken bento.
"Are you sure she's even here?" Seiryu asked as he approached his father to get some food. "This contact of yours might have just seem her passing through here and nothing else." He suggested.
"That was one of my concerns, but he assured me that the person matching her description lived here." His father stated.
Both father and son then decided to have dinner together. The chicken was decent but it wasn't that good.
"So, where are you going after here?" Seiryu asked.
"To look at some clues, I can't tell you much else." His father replied as he eat some chicken. "Did you mother send you any message?"
"No, but that's probably because she's very busy." Seiryu replied.
"I have to ask, how did you convince her to let you become a Shinobi of Konoha?" His father couldn't help but ask. If it was up to his mother, his existence would have been a secret forever and he would never set his foot at Konohakagure.
"It wasn't easy, it took a lot of begging." That's a understatement, more like nearly two years worth of begging for his mother to agree. She always spoke negatively of the village.
"Well, you manage alright." His father drank a bit from his personal bottle.
Suddenly, a very loud thunder was heard from outside. As the two of them looked at the window,they noticed that there was a heavy rain outside.
"Our search just got more difficult." Seiryu commented as he finished his food.
"Nah, it's just a little rain." His father pointed out. "It will be better tomorrow."
After a decent night of sleep. Both father and son decided to resume their search. Unfortunately, it turns out that the rain wasn't stopping. It was relatively weaker but it didn't seem like it was going to stop any time soon.
Dammit! I really need to get an umbrella. Seiryu thought in annoyance as he was trying to avoid the rain by trying to say close to the buildings. But he didn't know where to look to be sincere. No one is going to be on the street during this rain and since no one will talk to him. As he kept on walking. He saw a hospital from afar. Well, no harm in checking. He thought before making his way there.
Loud thunders were coming from the sky, and Seiryu honestly just wanted to go back to the inn to keep on trying to burst the rubber balloon. The white haired boy arrived at the entrance of the hospital. Is it just me or is this place in way better condition than the rest of this village. He noted due to the hospital being in great shape which is strange considering that everything else that Seiryu saw so far wasn't.
Upon entering it, Seiryu was shocked by how clean and well kept the hospital was. Which shocked him as everything he saw so far was dirty or messy. Wait, what the hell is going on here? He thought as he walked towards the reception.
"What can I help you with?" A friendly looking receptionist asked.
"Umm..." There's no harm in asking. "You wouldn't happen to have seen a girl with red hair, wouldn't you?" He asked.
"Oh, her." She replied with a smile. "She's at the fifth floor."
The Senju heir widened his eyes. "Really?" She nodded in response. "Okay, thanks." He added before making his way towards the stairs. Is it really her? Not that I'm complaining but... What is she doing in a hospital then? Seiryu quickly climbed up the stairs in order to reach the fifth floor.
Once he arrived there, he started to search the place. I should have asked if she was in a room or something. He thought as he searched. Strangely, that hospital was considerably empty. The rooms he passed through were empty and he didn't saw any injured or anything.
After a short walk, he finally saw someone at the corridor. Wait...
Standing at the corridor, leaning on a wall. Was a girl with red hair, but Seiryu was sure that it wasn't who he was looking for. She was around the same age as him. As he got closer, he could see what she looked like. She had fair skin, and the characteristic red hair of the Uzumaki clan. She was wearing brown narrow glasses, a mesh shirt and stockings, a purple skirt, a light brown short sleeved jacket with an orange stripe going across the chest, and black sandals. She also had the Kusagakure forehead protector on her forehead.
As Seiryu got close enough, he had a thought on his mind. I'm pretty sure father forgot to mention that he was looking for an adult woman. It was unfortunately the most plausible explanation to that. Well... In his defense that hair is quite unique. He thought as he looked at the girl's hair. But it didn't took long for his gazing to be noticed as the girl turned her head to the left and looked at him with her crimson eyes.
"Umm..." She spoke in response. "What are you looking at?"
Oh, I was staring at her like a creep wasn't I? He thought in embarrassment while scratching the back of his head. "Sorry, I was looking at your hair."
"What?" She asked in confusion.
"Your hair is... Really pretty." It was true. "It matches your pretty eyes as well, which is even better."
That compliment made the girl's cheeks get slightly red. "You... You really think so?"
"Of course," Seiryu told her with a smile. "I'm Seiryu by the way." He introduced himself while extending his hand.
"I'm... I'm Karin." She shaked his hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Karin." He told her. "So, what are you doing here?" He couldn't help but ask. "Are you sick or injured?"
That question seemed to have made her uncomfortable. "Umm... No... I.." Seiry raised an brow at that. "I'm just..."
"Hey!" Suddenly, they heard someone yelling from the end of the corridor. To the shock of the Senju heir, it was the same boy that looked like a jerk with spiky hair that he saw at the convenience store the other day. But, there was something different about him. What the hell?! How is his arm healed?! To his shock, the boy's arm, which was severely broken last time he saw him. Was completely healed.
While Seiryu was still shocked, the boy with spiky hair approached them.
"They want you at the seventh floor." The boy told Karin.
Karin looked very uncomfortable. "O... Okay." She seemed very reluctant. "Umm... Bye." She told Seiryu before she started to walk.
"Bye... Karin." He watched as she slowly made her way to another floor. Seiryu noticed that she was walking very slowly.
Okay, there's something odd going on here. Seiryu thought as he heard loud thunder coming from outside. I better go tell father.
The white haired boy made his way back to the inn as fast as he could to get away from the rain. He waited for his father to return while trying to complete the second step of the Rasengan.
Soon enough came back and Seiryu decided to tell him about it.
"Dad..." He was trying to find the right words. "What was the description that you gave that contact of yours?" Seiryu asked as he kept on trying to burst the rubber ball.
"What?" He asked in confusion.
"You told him to look for a girl with red hair didn't you?" Seiryu asked.
"Yes, red hair is a common trait of the Uzumaki Clan." His father explained.
"Did you... Told him that you were looking for an adult women?" Seiryu questioned him.
"Well... Not exactly but..." With that, Seiryu tossed the rubber ball at his father's face for his stupidity.
"AAHH!" He yelled as the ball hit his nose. "What was that for?"
"I found a girl with red head, a girl around my age." Seiryu revealed to him. "And I have a really strong feeling that she's the girl that matches the... Painfully weak description that you gave this contact."
His father paused for a bit, digesting what his son had just told him. Before he dropped to his knees with a large sweat drop at the back of his head. Realizing that Seiryu was probably right. Ahhhh! Dammit! I assumed that the chances of finding a girl with the Uzumaki red hair were non-existent. He thought in deep frustration after realizing his overwhelmingly dumb mistake.
Seiryu slapped his forehead as a response. Before going to grab the rubber ball. "So, what now?" He asked before trying to burst the rubber ball again. "Shall we head back?"
His father sighed before sitting down and grabbing his personal bottle. "Let's wait for the rain to stop, then we leave." His father spoke with obvious frustration in his voice before gulping down the bottle. What am I going to tell the old man? He thought in deep frustration as he did got his Sensei's hopes up.
"The rain will last for two or three days." Seiyru pointed out as he heard someone mentioning on his way out of the hospital.
"Enough time for you to get at least the second step done then." His father pointed out.
"Good point." He replied as he sat down on the floor. I can't shake this feeling that there's something wrong.
"So, this girl." His dad spoke. "What is she like?"
"I don't know, I barely talked to her." But she did seemed very uncomfortable. Seiryu had a bad feeling about that hospital. How did that guy's arm healed so quickly? That was a question that he really wanted to know the answer. While I'm here, maybe I should visit Karin again. I mean, the red hair is obviously a sign that she's a Uzumaki and I really wanna know more about my great-grandmother's clan. He thought about. And maybe I can find out why she was so uncomfortable.
As he kept on thinking about Karin, he didn't pay attention to the rubber ball. Which suddenly and just like that, burst.
"You did it." His father pointed out.
"I did?" He didn't even noticed.

Nice that you've come up with stuff for what Jiraiya's Genin team was like I'm surprised you've gone with Fugaku being as skilled as Minato I know the Uchiha's said his name should have been there with Minato and Orochimaru's when the fourth Hokage was being considered but not sure if at the end of the day he was quite as good as either of them
I do also hope Guns don't become a big part of fighting in this or even become wide spread and common because I'm a world that has people being able to spit fire make mud bullets etc etc I don't see people putting much stock in guns and thus advancing that particular branch of technology I mean even in the Boruto era guns haven't advanced that much

To be fair with the Jinchuriki outside of Gaara and Killer B we we explored a lot in canon anyway hope the ones we focus on the most are Yugito, Fu and hopefully Kushina

A thing I've been meaning to ask is Sasuke still going to end up a emo avenger in this and if he does please tell me Seiyru isn't going to go to the sometimes stupid lengths Naruto went for him
Don't get me wrong I love Naruto but my god could it be annoying to watch him make everything secondary to getting Sasuke back and when he did things like let Karui beat the shit out of him and beg Ay not to list Sasuke as a mission Ninja
Point is is there a chance Sasuke doesn't go all emo avenger wanted criminal and instead stays in the village as a loyal ninja
Another question I have is after the Chunin exams will we see Seiyru actually be promoted and after the timeskip see him as a Jonin
Ironically, Seiyru will only be able to use Taijutsu when they fight. Which is pretty much how Rock Lee would have fought him.

Fugaku was never much explored. I like to think of him as a foil to Minato. Both being equally skilled but Minato was the more humble and pleasant to be around while Fugaku was arrogant and held himself in very high regard.
Oh, don't worry about it. It will mainly be a tool. But nothing world breaking. The creator didn't include guns because he thought that they wouldn't be able to fight against them. But that explanation got completely thrown out of the window later in the series.

Yup. There won't be a timeskip in this story. The three years will actually be spent with Seiryu staying on the village and working his way up the ranks. Going on several original missions with his friends that takes him to the other main villages. Learning things from the other Jonin (Gai, Kurenai, Asuma, etc.) Which will ultimately alter the events of the main story.
