Senator Padme Amidala
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{
The inner dome of the Galactic Senate was loud, something that was all too normal for Padme Amidala. Being the Senator for the Chommel Sector and Naboo she was probably one of the most pro-peace senators in the Senate, something she never really reflected back on, it was her natural instinct to work for negotiations.
Now the Senate was called in for a meeting, the current situation involving the world of Strangreal was a bit tricky. Strangreal claimed allegiance to a government called the United Systems of the Terran Government and was steadfast in not switching allegiances. Something that Padme could agree with, it was all too similar to how the Naboo Crisis 12 years ago played out, a government under siege who was unwilling to change or make concessions that would impact their populations negatively against what was supposedly a much larger force.
Padme thought it was ludicrous for the Republic to even try to force this planet into their ranks and be used as 'war material', a war that could have been easily prevented. She was rapidly losing hope for the Republic in the sense that it would ever recover from this conflict, though her hope still held strong, she didn't know how long it would last.
She walked the halls as she entered her pod as she looked at the chattering rotunda. Aliens of many species chatting away, their features adding a little splashes of color to the largely chrome and gray building.
She had chatted with several other pro-peace senators such as Bail Organa of Alderaan and Onoconda Farr from Rodia before this meeting of the Senate, discussing a wide range of topics, from the war, to the slowly falling economy, and finally the newcomers on the Galactic Stage, the United Systems of the Terran Government.
The Terrans were an interesting group of people to Padme, they promoted peace but yet had a history so violent that the current war paled in comparison, it had intrigued her but she saw they had a sense of democracy and freedom, their culture revolved around the trust of one another and they seemed to be meaning of unity, she even had to admit their government was leagues ahead of what the Republic was currently.
The 'Republic' was currently a squabbling mess of business men fighting over whoever got the larger paycheck whilst everyone else was scratching for scraps, something that was throwing Padme into dismay, they were elected to help their citizens were they not?
She sat as she saw the man she once looked up to, Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. Eversicne the outbreak of the clone wars she was always against the violence factors and tried to have everyone focus their efforts on peace, she thought the Chancellor would be on board but no, he had changed into a power hungry man, or at least it seemed.
Now she sat and watched him talk… what would the Terrans call it? 'Bullshit…' she thought as she thought of the classic Terran curse for when someone babbled nonsense. She had learned a lot of things from the Terrans, they were an enthusiastic people, they had rule of law, and a culture so vast it was practically a galaxy in one people.
She looked on as the current debate was currently going on, the topic, Republic membership for Strangreal. She couldn't believe it, the Republic was practically falling off, becoming the thing it promised to destroy.
"We all know the people of Strangreal and as a result of the USTG to be agents for a larger scheme for the Separatist Movement! Not to mention their outspoken support for these systems who continue to degrade overall life in this galaxy!" Yelled out Senator Istye Raliok from Carida, the senator from the mountainous world's voice carried by the airwaves and joined by cheers and chants from Pro-War Senators.
"Strangreal is a system controlled by the United Systems of the Terran Government! Why would the Republic have any interest in violating Terran sovereignty?" said Padme Amidala, she was leaning on her pod as she stared the opposing senator down.
"Perhaps you shouldn't live under a rock Senator Amidala? The people of Strangreal pose a significant strategic threat to the surrounding Republic worlds, they have always claimed neutrality but yet they only, and continue to supply war material to any worlds sympathetic to the devastating, unstabilizing acts of the Separatists!" he yelled back as the Senate began to become louder, all cheering on Senator Raliok and boo'ing Padme. It got to a point where Mas Anneda had to slam his staff into the ground and ask for some form of silence.
"Do you not realize that those supplies are for Medical reasons! These worlds have constantly asked both sides for material to support their medical infrastructure and yet we fail to provide it! Both Republic and Separatist! These Terrans have answered at their darkest times! Why would we punish them for that?" she asked as the Senate was quiet for a while, thinking on those words. Then Chancellor Palpatine spoke up, his voice monotone.
"These Terrans have constantly intervened in our affairs on the galactic level, while it could be said that these supplies were for medical reasons, we have constantly asked for medical supplies for our besieged worlds, worlds in which the Separatist onslaught continues to degrade our supplies and yet the Terrans answer very little, if at all. Which is why I suggest we send a mission to Strangreal in the name of peace and to establish a guideline to continue to help further our relations and make it into something positive, we will hold a vote on this and decide whether we should negotiate, or whether we should take no action and let our worlds suffer the consequences, choose wisely, noble senators," he finished as the senate clapped and cheered as a vote popped up on screen.
Despite all the hate towards the Terrans, the vote passed for negotiations, somehow Padme had a twisted feeling in her gut as she saw the results. It felt like this would be the beginning of the end for the Republic, but Padme would hold her hope high for peace, or at least for now.

Sheev Palpatine/Darth Sidious

Sidious was extremely tired or at least his Palpatine persona was exhausted. Though he had bigger fish to fry.
Strangreal was a particularly large thorn in his side, they were quite literally the key for him to gain support in preparation for him establishing his new Empire. Their resources were vast and they had the infrastructure to support the harvesting of these materials. Unlucky for him they were under a government already, the United Systems of the Terran Government. But he would have his way, one way or another.
Did he mention that the population was or at least near 100% human? Palpatine may have not shown it in public but Sidious was an avid supporter of human superiority. Something that was going to be a founding principle of his new empire. He was surprised, like nearly everyone else when they said they achieved space flight only 645 years ago, it was a bit rare to have a civilization go from what was basically sticks and stones to advanced spacecraft and weapon systems in the span of at least a thousand years.
Palpatine knew that the galaxy could not even compare, it had taken them 20,000 years to perfect their technology and even then some of it was beaten by Terran adaptations. Not that it bothered him but it was a bit of a hit to his ego. Which is probably why he had Terran explosives distributed to the terrorist organizations to place the blame on the Terrans.
Their preachings of democracy and freedom were a bit much, it was practically part of their culture to live a free and diverse life but to also identify under a single strong ethnic identity, something that was rubbing off on citizens of the Republic already, something that would contradict his plans for an authoritarian regime.
Recently he had convinced the Senate to send a mission to Strangreal to open up talks with them to join the Republic despite the population of Strangreal being very anti-Republic and very pro-Terran despite the USTG's history of massive civil conflict that would even rival the one being fought today, but it seemed the Terrans were hiding something and he couldn't put his finger on it, he had tried to read their minds only to come up blank, it was a weird occurrence to be sure but nothing that scared him… yet. He had seen the other Jedi scrambling scared when they couldn't sense anything from these 'Terrans', it was just another one of the galaxy's greatest mysteries, some were force sensitive and others were not, which was one of the reasons why he needed to dump the Terrans into a ditch and fast.
His recent meeting with the Jedi Council had him adding a Jedi to the mix; he had personally selected Master Nahi Mijla, who he knew to be a 'hot-headed' individual who was very enthusiastic about the Republic. The Council was a bit hesitant but was convinced by Palpatine to send in Master Mijla on a mission to find more about the locals despite the Correlian Trader incident fresh in their minds.
What the Jedi and the Senate didn't know was that Palpatine had ordered the rigging of the diplomatic vessel which he would then blame on the people of Strangreal and the USTG. It was the perfect plan, the Jedi would respond and most likely open fire on the Terrans who would fire in self-defense and that would give Palpatine the ammunition he needed to order an invasion into Terran Space.
He could only smile, no one would stop him and the formation of his empire, for thousands of years the revenge of the Sith would be put into motion and the Jedi would be helpless to stop it.

Jedi Master Nahi Mjla
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{
Master Milja had always hated Terrans and for one reason alone.
They had no respect for the Republic or the Jedi. In fact he had been one of the few Jedi to demand a full-on planetary assault on the world ever since the Correllian Trader Incident. He was a bit upset when this request was denied but he would have to find out another way.
Even after the temple bombings the Terrans and their USTG always placed the blame elsewhere, throwing their hands up and saying that it wasn't their fault that their own weapons were apparently 'Stolen'.
Now he was ordered to escort a diplomatic envoy to Strangreal, one of the Terran 'Colony' worlds in order to 'negotiate'. "Negotiate" he scoffed, when does negotiation work? Never, that was why they were in a war against a bunch of terrorists who called themselves the Confederacy of Independent Systems. For all he knew, this could have been a separatist trap.
Despite their wanting and insistence that they were never wanting to be involved in the war the USTG always seemed to be a bit more sympathetic to the CIS.
Now his hate for the CIS did have a reason, he saw his entire clone battalion slaughtered before his eyes as his padawan was cut down by the metal monster only known as General Grevious. He couldn't help but feel angry towards the General, what did he do wrong to warrant such action?
Now the fleet was dropping out of hyperspace, in all 10 Venators, 5 Artiquens, and finally a Consular Class Diplomatic Cruiser, not a shabby fleet either. When he heard they used a form of slug throwers, he couldn't help but laugh, even if the opposite side held an 8/1 advantage right now.
Slug Throwers? What a way to boost morale across the Republic.
"General, we have made contact with the planet surface, they have approved the Consular to land at these coordinates," said a clone officer to which Master Mijla nodded.
"Good, tell the crews to keep on their toes, I can sense something bad will happen," he said and just on que the Consular carrying the Ambassador exploded, its guts spilling into space as it broke into millions of pieces of debris. Master Mijla could feel the pain of all those on board, for some it was quick, others their lungs sucked out and died a slow painful death.
"What happened?" asked his Captain, Captain Orelius Hallun who rushed away from the center table on the bridge to look out the transparisteel windows. The bridge started to run into a frenzy as the pit crews did their best to find the cause of the explosion.
"I knew it," said Master Mijla in a quiet tone so that no one could hear him.
"It's a separatist trap! Open fire on the enemy!" said Master Mijla as the Pit crews got to work as General Quarters was quickly sounded. Master Mijla had a bad feeling about this as the main batteries rotated and began to warm up.

Captain J. Peterson
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{
Captain J. Peterson looked out the display, it didn't have the same feeling as a window, but it got the job done. He was assigned the old Halcyon Class Light Cruiser Belka when he joined the UTPDF. Though not as fancy as the newer Aegis Class Light Cruisers the Belka was still in good enough shape to fuck anyone who wanted to mess with humanity and her assets.
He had served faithfully with the United Terran Navy for 53 years, having joined at the climax of the First Contact Wars at the ripe age of 18 he had seen a lot of shit, men being vaporized, men combusting, men just being tossed here and there, men getting speared by walking talking dinosaur people and baboons on steroids, it was a wild time back then, not as wild as the 21st century but still wild.
Now he would faithfully serve the United Terran Planetary Defense Forces and he was appropriately given his own ship, as he looked out the viewports as he stared at the Republic vessels, triangular in shape and having a bridge that was out in the open, interesting design choices.
'Were their designers on class-A drugs when they designed that ugly pizza slice?' he thought to himself as he chuckled at his own thoughts. Obviously yes, who would put a bridge so high up that it would make any fighter pilot cream themselves at how easy it was to target it. They must have put a lot of trust into those shields.
"Sir, Republic envoy is inbound to the planet's surface, ground control is asking us to let them through," said a voice as Peterson looked and saw a figure pop onto the tactical holo map, dressed in what seemed to be similar to a Prussian General from the 18th century.
"Not that I was going to shoot them Ladislaus, tell them that they are clear to go," he said as he turned back to look out the view display of the Belka. Then he saw the Republic vessel that was closing in on the planet combust as it blew apart.
"What happened?" Peterson asked Ladislaus, the AI worked quickly to find out what happened as the radio frequencies were filled with excited and panicked chatter.
"We are unsure what happened but it seems the explosion was internal based on the debris spread," said Ladislaus as alarms began to blare on the Belka.
"Sir energy buildup detected the Republic is opening fire and they are ignoring our hails over the comms!" yelled a Bridge crew as seconds later Ionized gas came crashing down on the Belka. The shields held up for the most part as they were pounded over and over again as the percentage bar drained by the second the Belka shone a bright gold as blue splashed all over the shields.
"Shit! Move us to the Lateral X-Axis and commit a rollunder maneuver!" said Peterson as the Belka lurched as they rolled under the hail of fire of the Republic fleet. The other vessels of the UTPDF realized the danger as they began to scatter as the Republic kept up the volume of fire.
"Ladislaus, how are my missiles looking?" Peterson asked about the status of the Belka's missile capacity. The Belka could have well put a few MAEC rounds through the Republic but being so close would halve the effective accuracy and effectiveness of a MAEC Round, the few Plasma Torpedo Batteries on board were running cold, and the secondary 76.2 cm (30 Inch) Railcannons and Mini-MAEC batteries were not fully charged and would need time to warm up and load. So missiles it was.
"Tubes S1A through S1G are ready to go! Tubes J1A and J1F are also ready to go hot! The rest are still being loaded! Ready to fire on Command!" yelled Ladislaus as Peterson nodded.
"FIRE!"
Pod caps popped off as Spear and Javelin Missiles streamed out from their electromagnetically assisted launch tubes as their booster units deployed as they sped toward the Republic vessels. The Javelin and Spear missiles were the pinnacle of Terran Design, replacing the old Archer Missile Systems that proved so unreliable in the First-Contact Wars, the missile was a 3 tiered design, having a Chemical starter that would ignite a Quark-Plasma Compound that would explode on contact which would suck away the shield systems of the enemy warship, which would then allow the third final component depending on the missile,a Liquid Metal-Plasmic Vacuum Warhead for the Spear and for the Javelin a High Intensity Plasma Jet to penetrate and cause havoc for the enemies ship armor.
Which is exactly what happened as 520 missiles streamed out of the 13 missile pods as 5 vessels were targeted. Each receiving a full payload of 104 missiles and the results being devastating. One venator was gutted as multiple missiles slammed into the shields, draining them and sucking away at them like vampires until finally they breached the hull of the ship as the vessel lost control once its bridge was taken out, it slowly floundering and dropping out of formation as its hangar exploded, denying the fighters inside to launch.
The other 4 were a bit luckier, still alive but not looking well, the missiles doing their primary job to suck away the shields of an enemy vessel and getting the occasional lucky hit on the exposed armor of the vessel.
"CONFIRMED HITS! Effect green on target," Yelled Ladislaus as the bridge cheered a bit before turning silent and back to the grueling task of keeping the ship alive.
"Should we launch fighters?" asked Ladislaus as Peterson looked out, "No, we're too close, CWIS will make a whole slew of blue on blue, keep them in reserve," said Peterson as the avatar of Ladislaus nodded. The CWIS of the Belka worked overtime as bullets sprayed in all directions, knocking out multiple Republic fighters and making the Republic Fighter Corp take significant casualties as evidenced by multiple small orange dots around the Belka.
3 other vessels joined the Belka in battle, a Paris Class Frigate, a Geneva Class Destroyer, and another Halcyon Class Light Cruiser as they made their way under and pulled up as they went above the Republic fleet. Then all of a sudden the Paris Class, the PDS Decker exploded into 3 chunks of metal and fell victim to the volume of fire from the Republic vessels, the others diving on the vertical Y Axis as they dove like whales in the ocean, spraying their secondary armaments at the Republic.
"Fuckin hell! Commit a roll over and position us at the horizontal Y Axis! Fire main batteries once you have a firing solution!" Yelled Peterson as the Belka committed a roll over and turned to its side as its Sparta and Athens Mini-MAEC's and 76.2 cm Rail Cannons on its port side turned and targeted the nearest vessel, a Venator as it fired its main payload, projectiles slammed into the shields ripping large chunks of the shields charge away as the shields failed as the Venator was exposed to face the fury of 76.2 cm Tungsten slugs.
50mm Rotary rail cannons used for CWIS duties also joined the fray, firing their Depleted Uranium rounds at a staggering 10,000 rounds a minute, raking Republic vessels as tracers joined ionized gas in putting on a lightshow for all those on the ground as an Artiquens fell victim to the murderous fire of the 50mm Hornet Killers.
Then another ship, this time the Halcyon Class, Glory Kills shields flickered out of existence as the ship was beaten to a pulp by the heavy turbolaser fire from 6 Venators, the pieces still accelerated from the dead ship as it entered orbit around the planet.
Then the Geneva Class Destroyer, Cries of the Valkyrie fired her main MAEC guns in anger as the two 600 ton Ferro-Tungsten Slugs covered in plasmic material passed through 2 Venator Class Star Destroyers at 30% the speed of light as one passed through a reactor, causing a massive explosion and showering the system in blue rays of light, the other ships of the Republic began to back off as another Artiquens fells to the murderous fire of Terran CWIS, all ships in this moment were bruised and bloodied at this point, leaking material, barrels of guns red hot, and missiles missing from silos.
The Republic vessels began to turn around as Terran vessels began to flood into the area of battle as they began firing their main and secondary armaments as the engines on the Republic vessels glowed brighter. Another Venator fell to the fire from the Marathon Class Feeling Lucky and the secondary armaments of nearby 2 Frigates. The last 4 wounded Venators and 3 Artiquens jumped into Hyperspace, leaving behind the corpses of vessels of the Republic and Terran Navies.
"Damages Ladislaus?" asked Peterson, his tone annoyed.
"We lost Mini MAEC Turret sector Alpha which needs to replace the turret systems, charge couplers for PAC guns are currently knocked out and will require a 4 day repair, same story for the energy projectors which had a cold failure due to extensive damages for the whole of the vessel, Missile Sectors Foxtrot and Grouper are reporting extensive damages to the reloading systems on the Pods, shield systems are reporting a need to replace the capacitors and generators as well as MAEC Gun 2 is reporting failures of its coils and MAEC Gun 1 is reporting a need to repair the muzzle, as for structural integrity we are venting atmosphere in 3 decks and response teams are on their way to any sealed areas," said Ladisluas as the damages for the Halcyon Class were displayed on the large holo screen. The Halcyon was a legendary vessel capable of taking huge amounts of damage but that was 50 years ago, Peterson was surprised the Belka survived this far from the damages it took.
"How about losses Ladislaus?" asked Peterson, his voice strained as he took a relief puff of his cigar. He didn't give 0 fucks on regulations.
"The Republic has lost 9 Vessels versus our losses of 2 and the ODP Ontario is reporting failures for its MAEC Gun, main causes for loss can be contributed to our close proximity where our vessels aren't suited to fight for, the slow response time from surrounding vessels, as well as their age, you actually performed above battle expectations for the Halcyon Class Light Cruiser, congratulations captain," said Ladislaus in a monotone voice as Peterson just sighed as he looked at the loss' on screen of the Tactical Holo-map.
This was the eye of the storm, and the storm would be back stronger than ever, or so it seemed.
