Bucky ran through the empty docking bays. Upon reaching the first helicarrier, he hurled one of the bombs onto the side. He sprinted to the next one, also throwing it a considerable distance. The disk began to glow.
Bucky ran to the next on, but before he could throw the bomb, he stopped.
"Bucky, what are you doing?" Captain America demanded, standing there with his shield. Sam was standing behind him.
"Taking down HYDRA," grunted Bucky, throwing the last bomb onto the carrier. As soon as the bomb connected with the metal, each carrier began to shake. Black goo oozed out of the metal.
"Oh you better explain," Bucky said softly.
"Give me a minute," replied the voice in his ear. The docking bay doors opened, and the carriers were lifted out.
"Bucky, what is going on?" Captain America demanded again.
"At this point, even I don't know," was Bucky's reply. The three of them watched as the carriers were lifted into the blue sky, then dissolved with a shudder and flash of electricity.
"Bucky, I need an answer." Rogers was now striding towards him.
"There's a girl that has magic. That's all I know. And she was dead set on me helping take down the carriers," Bucky said, his hands raised in defense.
"Where is she now?" Rogers asked.
"I'm on the roof," said the voice thru the comlink.
"She's on the roof," relayed Bucky. He turned and ran, sprinting through the empty bay, towards the outside, to his freedom.
Captain America sprinted through the building. No one tried to stop him. Everyone was plastered to the windows, watching the disintegration of the carriers. Upon reaching the roof, Captain Rogers saw a small figure. She turned to face him.
Her long brown hair was tied back. She was wearing a suit of black and red geometric patterns.
"Who are you?" Rogers asked.
"I'm not quite someone of consequence. Yet," she replied with a sigh. She carefully stepped back to the edge of the roof.
"What do you mean, yet?"
"No one knows who I am, or what I'm capable of. That's what I mean."
Then she let herself fall off the roof. Steve ran to the edge of the roof. She had vanished, along with Bucky.
