"WILL SOMEONE LET ME OUT ALREADY?!"
Betrayus continued to shriek and pound on the door, not caring about how sore his throat and fists became. He should have known better than to carelessly have his soldiers bring the girl into the building for his son, but he was blinded with the idea of making Pac happy. Pac didn't exactly have many people who liked him let alone any friends, something the dad was more than willing to remedy.
Speaking of Pac, was he okay?! What was that girl and that other kid trying to do?! If they laid a single finger on Pac he would-
The door opened, and there the four of them were. Their facial expressions were a mix of confusion and fear.
"Yo are you alr-" Blinky began only for Betrayus to shout some more.
"WHERE'S PAC?"
"Beats me", said Inky.
"FIND HIM, FIND THE GIRL AND HER ACCOMPLICE, AND FIND OUT WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!"
The four saluted, having no choice but to comply.
The quartet scurried away, as Betrayus went over to his desk and activated the intercom.
"Attention all soldiers- I have been attacked by the pink girl and her fellow conspirator! Your orders are to arrest them at once! You are authorized to use deadly force. AND MAKE SURE PAC IS SAFE!"
Betrayus turned off the intercom and smirked as an alarm began to blare. How foolish those two kids were to think they could pull off something so bold… whatever they were doing. But one thing was certain- it was the two of them vs an army of highly trained soldiers. Their little stunt was doomed to fail in his eyes.
That plus the safety of his son were all that mattered. Technically he could let his soldiers do all the work as usual, but finding Pac was something he couldn't ignore. He took a deep breath, and left the office to search for his son…
The moment the announcement was said and the alarm went off, Cyli could feel her heart pounding even harder than before. This was bad. Very bad. Luckily they had somehow made it to the dungeon without being seen beforehand.
There was Pac and Mr C, and poor Pac looked terrified. "This is a bad idea…"
"It's too late to turn back", said the elderly scientist who put a hand on Pac's back. He then turned to Cyli and Spiral, his expression quite stern. "Alright girlie, what did you do? And who's that?"
"He's Spiral, I called him to help with the plan. Also about what happened… we kinda got caught in Betrayus' office by the man himself and Spiral locked him in a closet. Looks like he escaped."
Mr C's eyebrows went up. "I'm both horrified and impressed."
"It's nice to meet y-" Spiral tried to say only for Mr C to raise a finger. "Escape now, introductions later."
"YOU LOCKED MY DAD IN A CLOSET?!"
"Had no other choice dude. Now let's get outta here! Time's running out!"
They all wasted no time with crawling into the vent, and Pac was about to crawl in after them-
"What are you doing", Cyli said confused.
"Well I'm part of the plan right? I can help with these berries! Also I uh…"
"Down here", came a voice from above.
Pac hopped into the vent, putting the grate back up just in time as soldiers began to flood the basement.
All four crawled away quickly yet quietly. There was an awkward silence as they made their way towards the vent at the back of the building.
They all stepped out, and they were all greeted with the cool night air. But wait- in all the commotion with Betrayus, Cyli had forgotten a vital part of the plan- the cameras. Uh oh. There was no way to sneak Mr C away from here without being caught. They were trapped.
"A-ha", cried out a familiar voice, "I figured he'd be back here!"
Cyli's heart sank even further as four figures approached them all.
Blinky smirked, being the one who had spoken up. "Look at this! Not only did we find Pac, but the criminals as well! Lucky us!"
"Uh I can explain-" Pac began.
"Hold up… you're not working with the enemy are you?" Inky questioned.
"That's a big no no", said Pinky.
"Betty's gonna be even madder," Clyde whimpered.
"I don't care", Pac snapped, "he's not even my real dad!"
The quartet gasped in unison. It was already a well known fact throughout the army that Pac was a disrespectful brat, but he would absolutely never go as far as to insult his own dad.
"You doing ok there", Blinky said without thinking.
"SHUT IT", Pac said through clenched teeth.
"Blinky please… he's having a really tough time right now", Mr C said gently.
"Please nothing! We have our orders, and those orders are to find Pac. Check. And to find the perpetrators. Double check. You're all coming with us."
"Like heck we are", Pac spat.
"Kid your dad's worried sick", Inky said in return.
"He's not my dad!"
"Uh guys I hate to butt in but we need to go and pronto", Spiral said nervously.
"You're gonna have to go through us", Blinky said, folding his arms.
Pac just began to smirk. "Okay." He pulled open his makeshift bag of berries, and the four opposing Pac Worlders gasped in horror.
He chomped down on a berry, and immediately he was coated in a shade of sky-blue, and on his cranium was a sort of helmet that appeared to be made of ice. "Heh, ICE of you to drop by!"
There was no time to roll eyes at the terrible pun, as Pac had already extended his newfound hose-like tongue and fired an icy blast at his enemies.
The quartet were frozen where they stood, the only thing left unfrozen being their upper bodies. Pac began to laugh hysterically, clearly having gone mad with power. Cyli and Spiral just stood there with their jaws hanging open in utter disbelief.
"Cool", Pac said.
"Let's get outta here already", Spiral said, his demeanor becoming increasingly and appropriately frantic.
"But the cameras", Cyli replied, "and the soldiers…"
"Hold on", Blinky said shivering, "this some sorta rescue operation for that old fart? Bit late ain't ya? And why is Pac involved-"
"Because I know what happened fifteen years ago", Pac murmured as his expression began to darken.
Blinky paused, then went pale. He tried to speak but all that came out was a choking noise. "No way", he finally managed.
"YOU KNEW', Pac said angrily.
"What happened", Inky asked Blinky.
"Yeah, spill the beans", Pinky added.
"Keeping secrets isn't nice", Clyde whined.
Blinky shut his eyes and sighed.
"Yes. Of course I knew. I was there."
