Tastes like light
Out on the city's streets
Oh the city's streets
The future is now
Moving through the night
It's a long way, have to make it there
After all the secrets going through your head
It will lead you ways
Bring it all together now, lighting up the air
Signs everywhere,
Got to face the time
Never turn around just enjoy the ride
Restless nights running through my mind
Restless nights running through my mind
Restless Nights Martin Luther & Miguel Migs

Commissioner Frank Reagan was dressed to the nines in a dapper black tux for the Policeman's Ball.
He got there before Baker and was busy greeting and being recognized by numerous of New York's finest.
The ball was being held in a beautiful historical theater complete with an enormous stage that world famous actors had once performed on.
Suddenly he felt the air change and his senses sharpen. As he was shaking the hand of a Lieutenant from the 5 4 precinct he felt the urge to turn around.
Everything began happening in slow motion.
Detective Abigail Baker entered the room in a stunning, floor length, curve gripping emerald green gown.
There was a long slit up the side of her left leg revealing her toned figure.
Her luscious blond hair was tied up in the back and two curled tendrils framed her elegant pale face.
Frank drew in a deep breath.
She looked gorgeous. And she was his date. He reminded himself.
His pulse quickened as she moved into the ballroom. She hadn't seen him yet.
He excused himself from the Lieutenant and began making his way through the swarming crowd of policemen in tuxes and policewomen in elegant gowns.
Going through the crowd was like swimming in molasses. He felt impatience rise up in him as he made his way.
All he could think of was getting to her. He started moving faster.
"Hey Commissioner, great turn out, huh?" a Sgt. Gimbal called out to him as he blew past.
"Yeah, yeah" he muttered not caring anymore for small talk.
If one more person gets in my way of seeing my woman I'm gonna choke them he thought.
He gently pushed through a crowd of female police officers.
"Looking good Commissioner!" one woman shouted.
He nodded and continued moving towards Abigail.
He was almost there.
Suddenly DCPI Garrett Moore was standing right in his path. "Hey Frank!" he looked as if he wanted a conversation with him.
"Not now, Garrett!" he growled quietly at him.
Garrett looked surprised and then turned to follow Frank's gaze. Seeing Abigail he nodded and stepped out of the way.
She noticed him then.
God he looks good in a tux, Abigail thought. She had seen him in a tux once before at Senator McCrae's gala dinner. But somehow he looked even sexier this time.
And there he was. His towering, commanding presence.
Abigail's heart skipped a beat.
"Abigail," he greeted her and she could see the merriment dance in his eyes.
She smiled up at him feeling a flush in her cheeks, "Commissioner."
Knowing no one would think anything unusual due to the formal surroundings they were in, he bent down and kissed her cheek.
"Don't you ever leave me for so long again," he said huskily as leaned in.
She could feel his eyes looking over her and she knew she had made a good impression with her sparkling emerald gown with the slit.
His blue green eyes spoke volumes of desire and she knew where his thoughts were when he said quietly and commandingly, "Come with me."
She followed him through the throngs of people.
He led her towards the theater stage and up the steps that ran along the side to the wings.
No one was onstage yet as the festivities hadn't officially begun. Everyone was milling around, laughing, talking, and grabbing food at the giant buffet table.
His head of security was backstage, Jim. Frank nodded and Jim nodded back at him.
Their cover.
The Commissioner led her to the curtains along stage left. The curtains were enormous, floor to ceiling thick draperies.
He moved in close to her and she smelled his delicious Old Spice aftershave.
Abigail swallowed. Though it had only been a week apart it had felt so much longer.
Her throat was dry.
He was staring at her, closing the gap but not making any moves yet.
The anticipation was killing her.
"Frank…" she whispered his name gently, wanting him to take her in his arms.
This was all he needed. He moved in like a lion to prey.
He kissed her hungrily. Fiercely.
The curtain moved around them as their hands fumbled over each other.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and he ran his hands down the curves of her body.
She initiated her tongue to find his and he eagerly returned the favor.
She moaned quietly.
"Abigail, you look incredible in that dress," he breathed in between kisses.
Her face was on fire. Her body was on fire.
His tux jacket was open and she ran her hand up his firm and broad chest.
"You look devilishly handsome yourse–," she began to reply as he swooped in for another passionate kiss.
"You don't know how much I've missed you," he said softly as he nuzzled her neck.
"Mm…I'm getting a little bit of an idea," she arched her neck back as he trailed kisses.
His broad hands grabbed her cheeks and he tenderly brought her face close to his.
Even though the lighting was dim where they were buried in the curtains, she could see his eyes were fired up and there was something in them that Abigail wasn't certain of.
An unanswered question.
This time he kissed her gently. Teasingly. Little tastes.
Abigail wanted more of him.
Enough of this she thought and she grabbed his hands and planted them firmly just under her breasts which fit snugly in her fitted gown.
He groaned and she smiled happily as he roamed over her figure with his firm strong hands.
She brought his face to hers and gently tugged on his lower lip with her teeth as she explored new ways to kiss Frank Reagan.
"Abigail, what are you doing to me?" he murmured in between their passionate kisses.
"Mm maybe I need to go out of town more often," she replied.
"OnePP would fall apart. We barely got through this week…"
She pulled away from him for a moment and studied his face. Though his body projected his passion for her she could sense how tired and exhausted he was underneath it all.
"Hey," she said gently. "I'm here now."
He sighed as he laid his head on her shoulder. "I'm sorry. Enough complaining from me. How was the funeral?"
She continued holding on to him feeling warm and secure in his embrace that seemed to let his guard down a little bit.
"It was rough," she admitted. "I'm glad to be home to you." She felt a bit vulnerable saying the last sentence but oh well, she had said it.
Her words were a great comfort and Frank lifted his head to smile down at her, his eyes twinkling.
"What?" she asked, seeing the dancing of his eyes.
He said nothing and just trailed a finger down the edge of her cheekbone.
He wrapped her in his arms again, kissing her without abandon and Abigail lost herself…
MEANWHILE
Detective Danny Reagan and Detective Maria Baez were approaching the theater steps.
"Danny!" Maria hissed at him as she followed behind him wearing a midnight blue spaghetti strap fitted gown.
Danny was in a black tux and had a devilish smile on his face as he turned and grabbed her hand. "Come on, will ya?"
Maria blushed and allowed herself to be taken backstage.
Danny pushed aside the thick drapery curtains and found a spot reserved for the stage manager's area. The lighting was dim with just a small reading lamp turned on over a desk.
Perfect, he thought as he grabbed Maria in his arms.
She gasped as he had her up against the concrete wall in a passionate kiss.
She giggled as he nuzzled her neck and she happily kissed him back.
"Shhh! Danny; I hear something!" she cried out suddenly, whacking him on the arm.
"Whaat–" he cried out.
All of a sudden the Commissioner's head of security, Jim appeared.
Danny turned around and noticed him. "Hey, Jim!" He looked around behind him. "Is uh, is my dad back here?"
Jim looked like he was about to say something in response when Danny started walking past him.
Maria threw her hands up in the air. This is what it was always like working with and dating Danny Reagan. The guy had the attention span of a gnat.
Danny started walking towards the other side of the backstage with Maria in suit and Jim calling after that.
"Hey wait, Detective!" Jim tried to stop him.
Suddenly Danny burst upon his father and Det. Abigail Baker in a very heated embrace.
His jaw dropped to the floor.
Maria came running up beside him practically stumbling over him when he dead-stopped.
"What's going on…?" she trailed off as she noticed what Danny was looking at.
Abigail hurriedly pulled away from the Commissioner who had his back to Danny.
"Oh good lord," Abigail sighed, "here we go again." Her face turning beet red.
Frank chuckled and shook his head. Knowing he was going to turn around and be discovered yet again.
"Daaad?!" Danny cried out in surprise.
Frank caught glances with Jim. "Thanks Jim," he said sarcastically.
"I'm so sorry Boss, they just rushed past me" Jim looked incredibly remorseful.
Danny still looked taken aback but then he nodded in approval.
"Nice one Dad."
He had actually suggested a couple weeks back that his father give consideration to Det. Baker. He knew they were a good match.
Apparently a REALLY good one.
Frank coughed, "Well, I suppose we better get back to the ball before they start the awards here."
Danny smirked and led Maria back out.
Frank put his hand in the small of Abigail's back. She looked up at him laughing.
"What?" he said somewhat annoyed. They couldn't seem to keep this quiet no matter how hard they tried.
She poked him in the ribs, "Come on. It's a little bit funny."
"Oof!" he cried as she jabbed him. "It is not."
She continued prodding him until she found his ticklish spot. "Hey, no fair…" he started laughing with her as they walked back out to the ball.
A/N: I hope you enjoyed this scene. Another fun "discovery". I like the idea of Danny and Maria together so I wrote them that way. I thought it would be cute and I wanted to surprise you!
