Hello everyone! I do hope you are having a fantastic Summer. I am so sorry I haven't updated in a while. My laptop was completely broken and I had to get it repaired. It took 3 weeks until it was fixed

I am in this Broadway Musical Review and I have happy to say that I have two main solos in two songs. I will try harder to update this story and my Phantom of the Opera story quicker, because it is Summer. However, sadly Summer is almost over and school will start again. Please continue to have patience with me.

Also, please check out my Twitter page, my YouTube channel, and my Polyvore page to see posters and what clothes Sam is wearing in each chapter. Anyways, do not forget to favorite, follow, review, and enjoy this chapter.

Also, I do not own anything except my OC Sam.

3rd POV

Minutes felt like hours and the sun was about to set soon. Merlin knew Sam's time was almost up. Sam's face was getting paler, her hands were shaking even more, and her beautiful brown hair was losing color. Merlin looked at the rash on his sister's arm to see that it was growing bigger.

"Keep holding on Sam. I cannot lose you," whispered Merlin.

Gaius sighed as he looked sadly at the boy. He knew how much Sam meant to Merlin and it would break his heart when Sam was gone forever. Their heads snapped up when the Physician's Chamber doors opened to reveal a destress Gwen. She was gone for 30 minutes to find out where Arthur was.

"She hasn't got much longer. Has Arthur got the flower?" asked the old man.

Gwen shook her head sadly and replied, "I don't know. Uther won't allow anyone to see him." She paused for a moment when Sam groaned and moved slightly on the bed.

Merlin grabbed his sister's hand again and asked desperately, "Is there nothing we can do to help her out?"

Gaius continued to dab Sam's head with the cool wet cloth as he replied, "Only the leaf of the Mortaeus flower can save her."

"And we have to find out if Arthur has it." Gwen paused for a moment, before she realized what she must do to save Sam. "I could sneak into the dungeon."

Merlin immediately jumped up from his chair as cried out, "What! Gwen you can't!"

"Merlin is right. That would be very dangerous," said Gaius.

Gwen narrowed her eyes as she said with determination, "I've got to. Sam will die if I don't."

"Then let me come with you," Merlin suggested.

Gwen shook her head. "No Merlin, it will be suspicious if both of us go to the dungeons together." Merlin sighed and looked down. He felt so hopeless and he could not do anything to help Sam. Gwen sensed his distress, so she placed her hand on his shoulder to comfort him. Merlin immediately looked up when he felt her hand. His breath stopped as he stared right into Gwen's dark eyes. "I promise you, I will bring the flower and we will save your sister. You have to trust me."

Merlin turned to Sam when he heard her struggling breath and groaned in pain.

Merlin looked back at Gwen and said softly, "Please be careful."

Gwen softly smiled at the young wizard and rushed out of the room. Merlin turned back at his sister to see she was getting worse. His only hope was that Gwen could reach Arthur and retrieve the flower, before it is too late.

A few minutes later, after fetching some food from the kitchen without being notice, Gwen slowly walked down the Wrought Iron Stairway that lead to the dungeons. Gwen swallowed as she approached the guard. In her head, she was hoping she could trick him and deliver the food to Arthur.

"Food for the prisoner," she said in a calm voice.

The guard looked at the food on the plate. The food that Gwen presented were bread, cheese, and sausages. He nodded his head and pointed to the Guard who was standing guard by the door.

Gwen looked through the bars to see Arthur was sitting on the floor near the stone wall. His head was down, and she could not tell if he was resting or not. She received her answer when the prince snapped his head upward when he heard the guard unlocked his cell door. He held his breath when he saw Gwen entering his cell with food. He wanted to immediately either asked her about Sam or escape from this cell and rush to the Physician's Chambers to see Sam. However, he knew he could not, because it would be foolish and he knew why Gwen was here. He had to keep up this act.

"Set it down over there," he said unamused as he nodded his head to a small table. Gwen looked confused before she looked back to see the guard was standing by the door. She slowly did what Arthur had asked and place the plate on the small table. She meekly stepped back as Arthur rose up from the floor and walked to the table. "Thank you."

Gwen nodded her head as she turned to leave. However, in head hear she was freaking out. She just saw Arthur and he did not give her the flower. How are they going to save Sam now?

"Wait a minute." Gwen held her breath when she heard Arthur. She turned her head to see the prince place the plate back down on the table and walked back to his seat on the floor. "I couldn't possibly eat this, it's disgusting." Gwen looked back to the guard to see the guard slightly shrugged his shoulders. She turned back to Arthur to give her a pointed look. "The state it's in, I'm not sure it's fit for anyone," he said annoyingly.

Gwen sighed as she walked back to pick up the plate. Her breath escaped when she saw the yellow flower stuffed between the two loafs of bread. She looked back at Arthur with a slightly small smile. Without the guard noticing, Author gave Gwen a quick wink indicating that the flower will save Sam. Gwen immediately snapped her smile away and left the cell with the 'untouched' plate in her hands. As Gwen was about to walk out of the dungeon, one of the guards narrowed his eyes at her as she passed him.

"You. Wait," called out the guard.

Gwen immediately stopped in her tracks. She closed her eyes and swallowed. It was a matter of time before she was caught. She timidly turned to face the guard. Gwen felt like she was about to shake in fear as the guard slowly approached her. She tried to act normal as the guard stood in front of her and looked down at the plate. He picked up one of the pieces of cheese, before looking at the bread. Gwen was frightened hoping the guard had not seen the yellow flower. She held her breath as the guard picked up one of the pieces of bread on the plate.

"Waste not, want not, eh? We're not all as precious as our Royal Highness," said the guard.

Gwen slightly smiled at the guard's joke. As the guard took another bite, Gwen turned to leave. As she started to walk up the stairs, her eyes slightly widened when she saw one of the servant girls named Isabella coming down the stairs with Prince Arthur's actual food and wine.

Gwen tried to remain clam when she heard Isabella tell the guard, "Food for Prince Arthur."

The guard became enraged when he realized Gwen had tricked him and Isabella had Arthur's actual food. He glared at Gwen to see she was still walking up the stairs. "Stay where you are," he called to Gwen.

She immediately dropped the plate and dashed up the stairs as the guard started to chase after her. She was running back to the Physician's Chambers with the yellow flower in her hand.

It had been more than thirty minutes since Gwen went to retrieve the flower from Arthur. Sam was not getting any better and time was not on her side. There was one person in the whole castle who was worried not only for Sam, but for Gwen as well and that person was Merlin. He hadn't stopped pacing since Gwen had left. He started to feel the anxiety build up when every minute passed. What if Gwen was hurt? What if she got caught? What if Arthur did not have the flower and they could not save Sam?

Merlin suddenly stopped his pacing and said in a determine voice, "That's it! I am going to find Gwen!"

Gaius looked up from his book shocked. "Merlin, you cannot leave! You have to help me with Samantha. Besides, I am sure Gwen is alright."

"What if something has gone wrong? I should have gone with her," explained the wizard.

Before Gaius could argue with his nephew, they both jumped when they heard the door open. They turned to see Gwen running into the room, looking like she was out of breath.

"How is she?" she asked.

Ignoring her question, Gaius asked frantically, "Have you got the Mortaeus?"

Gwen nodded her head and handed him the flower.

Merlin sat down next to Sam and felt her burning head. He suddenly noticed something about his sister. "Her breathing was much more labored. We have to hurry. I do not know how much time she has."

Gwen sat down next to Merlin and touched his shoulder. Their eyes gazed into each other's, before looking back at their sick friend. Gaius rushed to his medicine table to begin the treatment. He crushed the flower into a cup and started to grind it with a medical spoon. He suddenly stopped the gridding when he realized something. Gwen looked up to see Gaius ceased making the medicine.

She looked confused and asked, "Why have you stopped?"

"The poison was created using magic. We may need magic to make an antidote," explained the physician.

Merlin's face suddenly became pale and his hand started to shake as Gwen said, "But we can't. It's forbidden. Even if we could."

Merlin knew he couldn't use magic in front of Gwen, but he did not want Sam to die either.

Gaius sighed and looked at the medicine cup. "I'll try and make it work without it." Gwen nodded her head and looked back at Sam, seeing her chest was now slowly raising up and down. Gaius instantly had an idea and grabbed the water bucket. "Oh, I need some fresh water." He handed Gwen the bucket and she ran out to retrieve water. Gaius walked back to his medicine table with the cup in his hands. He looked up to see Merlin still watching over his little sister. "Merlin, I need you to say this spell."

Merlin flew out of his chair and hurried over to where Gaius was standing. He handed the young boy the cup and pointed to the spell that was written in one of Gaius's books of spells.

Merlin stared at the page before looking into the cup. "Sythan arrest wearth feasceaft funden. Denum æfter dome. Dreamleas gebad he gewinnes longsum."

Merlin felt a familiar sensation come over him as his eyes suddenly became warm. He looked into the cup to see the potion was now green, sizzling, and foaming. All of a sudden, the potion stopped it's bubbling and simmered down. He started to laugh with excitement when he realized the magic worked. Gaius smiled at his nephew, before turning around to see Gwen rushing back in with the bucket of water. She grabbed a small cup, dipped it into the water, and handed it to Gaius.

"Thank you." Gwen and Merlin quickly walked back to the sickbed where Sam was still fighting for her life. Gaius rushed over with the cup of the potion in his hand. "Gwen, hold her nose and Merlin, strap her down. We cannot have her move her body while she's drinking the potion." Gwen immediately pinched Sam's nose while Merlin held down both of Sam's arms. They watched as Gaius opened the girl's mouth and slowly poured down the potion. After the whole potion disappeared into Sam's mouth, the three of them watched as Sam's body started to jerk side to side. Gwen slowly released her friend's nose, but Merlin continued to hold down Sam's arms.

"Come on Sam, swallow…Swallow, Samantha. Swallow it," Merlin pleaded to her.

He looked at his sister when he felt her body stop moving and did not hear her breath coming out of her mouth. He started to panic as he feared the worst.

Gwen must have thought the same thing. "She's stopped breathing. What's happening? Gaius?"

"Gaius, is she ok?" asked a frantic Merlin as he grabbed Sam's hand.

Ignoring the two, Gaius immediately pressed his ear to Sam's chest. He was trying to listen for a sound of a beat or a thump. He's eyes widen when he could not hear anything. Not even a weak heartbeat. He slowly raised his head up and looked at the two teens. Sam was dead.

"Her heart has stopped."

Merlin instantly released Sam's hand and backed away with horror. He shook his head in disbelief. "No… No, she cannot be… Please tell me she's not…" he pleaded as he looked at his guardian.

Gwen stared at her friend with sorrow. "She's dead?"

"No, she is not dead! Gaius, please tell me she is just sleeping! She cannot be dead," screamed Merlin as he ran his hands through his hair.

Gaius shook his head, trying so hard not to believe in the truth. His niece and apprentice cannot be dead. "She can't be. She can't be. It was her destiny," he said trying to reinsure himself.

She and Merlin was supposed to protect Arthur together. And now she is gone. Gaius stood up and placed his hand over his mouth. The girl he felt was like a daughter to him was dead. He looked at Merlin sadly. The old man's heart was truly broken. The boy's face was ghostly white with bloodshot red eyes. His whole body shook as he fell down to his knees. He laid his head on the sickbed and wept.

"No Sam, you cannot leave me! Please come back! I need you," cried out Merlin as he continued to bawl his eyes out.

Gwen realized Merlin was going to be truly lost. Her world shattered before her eyes. She slowly stood up, placed her hands over her mouth and shook her head in disbelief. "It's my fault. If I'd have got here sooner. If I'd have been quicker, Sam would be alive."

Gaius immediately gathered the distress girl into his arms. As Gwen continued to weep, Gaius rubbed her back for comfort. "No, no. It was me. I should've looked after her better. It's my fault."

As the three of them continued to morn, they did not realize that Sam's chest was beginning to raise up and she slowly opened her eyes.

Sam's POV

Darkness was all around me. I felt like Alice in Wonderland as I fell into a dark hole of nothing. However, I felt a warmness wrapped around me and I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Is that heaven… or is this a dream? My heavy eyelids forcefully opened up. I had to blink several times before my vision cleared up. I could feel my entire body was becoming sweaty and clammy. My brown hair was sticking onto my forehead. I felt a pressure on my right hand and I could hear sniffling on my left side. I turned to the right to see Merlin's head was laying on the bed and he was holding my head. When I looked to my left… well, I could not help when the next words came out of my mouth.

"Oh man, I think I am going to puke. Gaius, Gwen is too young for you." Gaius and Gwen immediately released each other and stared at me with shock. I looked at my brother to see his mouth dropped wide open and his enormous eyeballs starring right into mine. "Merlin, your girlfriend is in distress; go comfort her!"

Gaius chuckled with delight as he said, "Sam. You're alive."

I pretended to be confused and looked all over my body. "Wait, did I die? Because if I did, then I am the Ghost of Christmas Past." I hissed in pain when a body collided into me and two arms wrapped around me. She was squeezing my body so hard that I felt the pain and I could not breath. "Ow Gwen, still in pain!"

She immediately released me and backed away. "Sorry, I'm just...I thought you were dead."

"It's ok. Not the worst pain I've been in." Before I could say a word, I felt a sharp pain on my arm. I looked over and rubbed my arm, realizing Merlin slapped my arm. "Ow, what the hell was that for? Why would you hit me? I'm still sick you know!"

Merlin got right into my face and glared at me. "If you ever do that again, I will literally go to your grave and bring you back from the dead!" It did not take long when his eyes started to water. He grabbed me and gave me a big bear hug. "Don't ever do that again Sam. I cannot lose you."

At that point, I realized Merlin really did care for me. I instantly hugged him back. "It's ok Merlin, I'm fine… Wait, what happened? The last thing that I remembered was that I was drinking wine from a goblet."

Merlin looked at Gaius and Gwen. He sighed before saying, "It's a really long story."

After explaining what happened for the past 24 hours, Gwen left to tell Morgana about my recovery. About 5 minutes later, Morgana came barging into the room. She slammed into me with a crushing hug. I swear, everyone is going to kill me by suffocation. I was a little bit afraid of her when she threatened to kill me if I ever did that stunt again. Thank goodness Gaius came to my rescue. He told Morgana that I need to eat and rest to get my strength back. Morgana agreed and said she will visit me tomorrow.

I was so thankful that I was eating some warm soup. I also had a blanket wrapped around me. I was about to take another spoonful of the soup when I heard a voice behind me called out, "Still alive, then?"

I nearly dropped the spoon. I slowly turned my head to see Arthur standing by the door. He smirked at me before he slowly walked up to my chair. My face felt hotter and my heart started beating ten times faster than normal. What the heck is wrong with me? It must be the side effect from the antidote.

I wiped my hands before replying sarcastically, "Yeah, like a little poison will never let me down." I looked right into his eyes and I slightly smiled. I remembered he saved Merlin in this episode. I grinned recalling when Merlin said Arthur risked his life for me. "So, I heard you went all that trouble to find the flower to save my life." Arthur's smile dropped as I giggled. "I never knew you cared."

Arthur's cheeks suddenly turned red. He scoffed and whipped his bangs away from his eyes. "Well, if you died then Merlin would be heartbroken, Morgana would have killed me, and Gwen would lose a friend. I did it for them."

Merlin stopped eating his dinner and looked up at Arthur in shock. He stared right at me, to see that I pulled the blanket around me. I felt my heart dropped down to my stomach. I was trying not to let any tears drop from my eyes. "Oh… is that all the reasons to save me? Nothing from you?" I asked meekly.

Arthur thought a moment before saying, "Yes, that's about it."

Well that's a slap in the face. I guess he only thought that I was an easily replaced servant. I looked at Merlin to see he was trying so hard not to glare at the prince. My brother's eyes landed onto mine. He could tell I was trying so hard not to break down. "Sam, are you alright?" Merlin thought to me. I did not answer back. I stood up from my chair and pulled the blanket around my shoulders.

I stared right into Arthur's confused face and I said firmly, "Thank you for coming over. You can leave now."

I turned sharply away from the jerk. I have to get away from him now. I was about to march into my room, when a strong hand grabbed my arm.

"Sam wait!" The hand that was attached to my arm felt like it was on fire. I could have sworn I felt a shock going through my spinal cord. I shifted my head up to see Arthur's pleading eyes. "Of course I would care if you died. You are very important to a lot of people. I do not know what I would do if you were gone. You are one of my friends."

I was in complete shock. Did Prince Arthur, the bully who will become the greatest King… actually said something nice to me? My heart was about to burst out of my chest. "Really, you mean that?" I asked. Arthur grinned and nodded his head. I lowered my head to stare at my dirty shoes. "Well, thank you… for saving my life," I said meekly.

Arthur was about to reply when he saw Merlin and Gaius gawking at us. He snapped back to reality. You could say that he went back to the arrogant Prince. "Yeah, well, it was nothing. A half decent servant is hard to come by." I could not help but rolled my eyes. And we are back to authenticity, I thought. "I was only dropping by to make sure you're alright. I expect you and Merlin to be back to work tomorrow."

I gasped and placed my hand to my chest. "You mean I don't get the day off because I am sick? That is so uncalled for!" Arthur glared at me and crossed his arms over his chest. Seriously, can this guy never take a joke? "I'm kidding, of course Merlin and I will be there tomorrow." Arthur nodded his head firmly. He started to walk out of the room, however my voice stopped his tracks. "Hey Arthur." He turned to see me walking up to him. I grabbed his hand and slightly squeezed it. "I really appreciate you for saving my life. So thanks for that."

He smiled at me. His eyes sparkled as the stars. He rubbed his thumb circling the top of my hand.

"You too," he said softly.

Our moment shattered as we heard a loud cough. I turned my head to see Merlin and Gaius still staring at us in shock. That's when reality struck me. I am standing close to Arthur and we were holding hands. He immediately released my hand. We moved away from each other. I felt my face heat up from embarrassment.

Arthur cleared his throat and said rapidly, "Get some rest."

After Arthur quickly left the room, Gaius placed a bowl of soup for himself. "Arthur may give you and Merlin a hard time, but at heart he's a man of honour. There aren't many who'd have risk what he did for a servant."

"Yeah, but you and Merlin saved me too," I said.

Merlin laughed before saying, "It all would've been for nothing if you didn't know how to make the antidote Gaius."

Gaius smiled at us. "Both of you, eat your dinner."

I placed the spoonful of soup into my mouth. I felt the warm liquid sliding down in my throat. I was about to take another spoonful of soup, when Merlin started to speak his mind. "I still don't understand why she went to all the trouble of framing Bayard. She could've just kept quiet and killed Arthur."

I sighed and placed the spoon on the table. "I do not think she was after Arthur at all."

"Sam is correct. Destroying Arthur and Camelot wasn't all she was after. She knew you would be forced to drink that wine. It was you she wanted to kill, Merlin. If you did not sacrifice yourself, then Sam is the next person on her list." Merlin's eyes widen and pulled me closer to him. "Seems someone else knows you're destined for great things, Merlin."

I knew he was talking about Nimueh. I placed my arm around Merlin's waist. "Don't worry. We are stronger together. So nothing will stand in our way. Not even that stupid witch."

3rd POV

Unknown to the siblings, Nimueh was watching them in her stone basin. When she heard what Sam had said, her eyes glared even harder. How dare that girl say such a thing.

"Mark my words Samantha. I will make sure you will breathe your last breath."

And there you have it, another chapter done. Again, the next chapter will take some time so please have patience with me. The next update will be my Red Rose Nightmare story and then I will be back with My Magical Wish. Do not forget to favorite, follow, review, and until then…
