Hermione carried the last box into Severus' home. Thanks to some magic, the three of them packed everything out of the apartment within two hours. The many boxes that lined the corner of the room were filled with books, pictures, knickknacks, toys for Sabrina, and clothing. Hermione decided to leave behind items she knew she did not need anymore. Severus had plenty of kitchenware for them to use and she did not need the furniture. She was happy she could convince Severus to let her bring the heavy tomes she read for a bit of light reading at night. She had everything she needed here, and she was ready to leave the apartment behind. First thing in the morning she was going to turn in her keys.
Sabrina, on the other hand, couldn't stop jumping around the house in excitement at moving in. She babbled nonstop about how excited she was to live with her Daddy and have a new room. She talked about having Daddy cook her breakfast in the morning, tucking her in, and reading her a bedtime story every single night.
Hermione lowered the box onto the ground and stretched her sore muscles. Her eyes traveled to the copious amount of bookshelves that lined the wall and she felt her hands itch to touch and read every single one. In her mind, she knew she could devour every single book he had if he let her. Before she could step even closer to the bookshelves, she heard Severus' deep drawl.
"Hermione, must I remind you that not all books are safe to read?" His tone was serious and left no room for argument. He frowned at her in annoyance.
Hermione begrudgingly peeled her eyes away from his library. "But Severus, you know I love to read." His frown did not relinquish. Hermione felt like she was back in school again being reprimanded for something she did. She started to fidget.
"Oh yes, I am aware, but you also must remember that some of the books I own are not obedient to the reader. I used to study a lot of dark magic growing up. I have read many books I wished I hadn't." His eyes darkened with regret and his voice turned lethal with warning. "There are books, Hermione, that can attack you, books that can take over your mind if you let it. Please Hermione, just listen to me."
Hermione stopped fidgeting but she couldn't stop thinking about his library. "Can I read some of them if I ask permission?" She pleaded with him.
His frown disappeared and he smiled at her in amusement. "Of course, my little know it all," he teased. "Just point to the one that you think sounds interesting to you and I will let you know if it's safe or not to read."
Hermione released the breath she was holding and changed the subject. "Where should I start unpacking my things?" she asked nervously. Internally, she was begging that he would allow her to share his room. She started to wring her hands and she swayed back and forth on her heels. Why am I so nervous around him? This is what I wanted but now I feel like a silly schoolgirl. Get a grip, Hermione.
He smirked at her discomfort. He closed the space between them, towering over her tiny figure. His hand reached out and gripped her chin, forcing her eyes to meet his. "Is my little Lioness acting coy with me? Where do you think, Hermione?" She felt her face burn up with embarrassment. She tried to pull away, but he wouldn't let her. He ignored her embarrassment and murmured, "I want an answer, Hermione." He loved teasing her and making her blush.
Hermione tried to find her courage. She stuttered out, "W-with you, Severus?" She sucked in a deep breath hoping that what she wanted he also wanted.
Severus' grinned at her. "Maybe. Would you like that, pet?"
If possible, Hermione's cheeks turned even redder. Her mouth felt dry and instead of verbalizing what she wanted she just shook her head yes.
Severus pecked her soft, pink lips and said, "Yes, Hermione. Don't you realize, you silly girl, that you are mine now? I won't let anything happen to you again." His voice was husky and his grip on her chin tightened a little bit. His eyes were filled with possessiveness that she didn't even know he had.
Before Hermione could respond, Sabrina skipped over to them with a giggle. "Are you going to kiss again?"
Severus released his grip and kneeled at Sabrina's level. He ruffled her hair and said, "We are going to have to change your room a little bit, Cherub."
Sabrina pursed her lips and scratched her head in confusion. "But why, Daddy? I like my room and so does Hoppy. Now I can have all my toys here too."
He smiled at her warmly. "Of course, Cherub. You will have all your toys, but your room will be just a bit bigger. You'll have the room all to yourself. We just have to get rid of the other bed that is in there." Sabrina looked at Hermione and then back to Severus feeling even more confused.
Hermione stepped in and finally found her voice. She said, "You know how at mommy's house you have your own room and I have my room? Well, you will have your own room here too. I think you will like it better if you can have your own space to yourself. Does that sound okay, sweetheart?"
Sabrina wanted to argue but instead, she just nodded at her mother. "Can we start unpacking my toys then? I really miss Hoppy and Froggy." Sabrina looked at her daddy and added, "Froggy is a frog. He also likes to hop around with Hoppy. They are my two favorite toys."
Severus stood up and said, "Yes, let's start unpacking and then we can grab some lunch."
Slowly but surely, Hermione began to unpack Sabrina's boxes. With help from Severus, Severus removed the big bed and moved Sabrina's bed to the middle of the room. He conjured up a toy chest that was at the foot of the bed. They started putting the toys in there until the boxes were finally empty. They then moved on to Sabrina's clothing. Inside Sabrina's room was already an empty wooden dresser. They folded and organized her clothes neatly into the drawers. The last box had Sabrina's magic nightlight. At night, the special lamp lit up the ceiling to look like the night sky. They sat it on top of the nightstand and plugged it into the outlet. Her room was finally finished, and Sabrina couldn't be happier.
Severus and Hermione then moved on to their bedroom. Hermione started by organizing her books. Inside the bedroom, there was a bookshelf next to the bed that was just for her. She slowly and meticulously organized the books by genre and finally lined the bookshelves until they were full. Hermione stared at her heavy tomes lovingly and then moved on to the next box. This box had her clothes in it. She moved to the dresser and was surprised to see that Severus left room for her to put her clothes. She looked at him and said, "You did this for me?"
"I knew eventually I would ask you to move in with me the day you came to my house for dinner. It's been like this since then," he answered her quietly. She continued to hang her clothes and put away her knickknacks. The boxes were now finally empty, and Hermione was exhausted. She sagged onto the bed and let out a yawn.
Severus looked at her fondly and said, "Rest up, Hermione. I'll start making lunch for the three of us. I'll come and get you when it is ready."
Hermione nodded at him and watched him leave the bedroom. She leaned down and took off her trainers. She got into the right side of the bed and snuggled under the covers. Before she knew it, she was out like a light.

Severus decided to make something very simple but also delicious. He took his time to make tomato bisque and grilled cheese. He started by chopping up carrots, celery, and garlic. He added the vegetables to a large saucepan along with butter and olive oil. He then added tomatoes and water to the saucepan and brought the saucepan to a boil.
While he was stirring the soup, Sabrina came into the kitchen with Hoppy clutched to her chest. "What are you doing, Daddy?"
Severus didn't take his eyes off the soup. He wanted it to be perfect. "I am making lunch for us."
Her nose wrinkled and said, "I don't think Mommy ever makes this. It smells funny."
Once he was sure the soup was settled, he turned and looked at Sabrina. "Well Cherub, today you are going to try something new. It's a type of soup called tomato bisque. It is made of tomatoes, cream, and vegetables. It is very tasty. We are also going to have grilled cheese with it, and I know you like grilled cheese."
A large smile formed on her lips. "I do like grilled cheese. Okay Daddy, I'll try your soup."
Severus continued to finish cooking his soup and started on the sandwiches. Sabrina sat at the kitchen table with Hoppy swinging her legs back and forth underneath the table. Once the three sandwiches were finished, Severus washed his hands and said, "Sabrina, you should run upstairs and wash your hands. We'll be ready to eat soon."
Sabrina set Hoppy down on the table and ran up the stairs as fast as she could. She entered the bathroom and began to thoroughly wash her hands just like her mother showed her. While Sabrina was washing her hands, Severus went up the stairs to wake up Hermione.
Hermione was in a deep sleep. She was having one of her nightmares again. She was twisting and turning, her eyebrows furrowed with dread. Her hands were gripping the sheets in a white-knuckle grip and sweat started to pour down her face. Her mouth was slightly open, and she started talking in her sleep.
Hermione stood over the crumpled form of Severus Snape. Her lips quivered and she whimpered out a sob. Tears started falling down her face as she stared at the blood dripping down his neck. Her knees painfully hit the floor beside him, and she reached out helplessly to him. "Severus," she wailed pitifully. She put her hand on his neck and tried to stop the bleeding. She continued to whisper his name, begging him to wake up. For a second, his pitch-black eyes met hers and all she could do was whisper, "I love you, Severus."
Before she could hear a response, she was woken abruptly. She stared up at Severus, her cheeks instantly turning red in embarrassment. She knew she was talking in her sleep because Sabrina always told her she did. She was mortified at the thought of Severus hearing her confess his love for him. She released the sheets from her grip and swallowed thickly. She murmured while looking down at the sheets, "Is lunch ready then?"
He smiled at her knowingly. He did in fact hear her say she loved him, and it made his heart sore. "Yes, my little lioness. Let's go eat." Hermione awkwardly left the bed and fixed the sheets. She didn't know what to say. She didn't know if she should ask him if he heard her say anything, but the thought of that mortified her even more. Before she left the room, Severus quickly pressed her gently against the wall and whispered against her lips, "I love you too."
