The red emergency lights pulsed every so often and silence basked the facility. Certain rooms were darker than others, almost pitch black in some cases. It was so quiet that one could almost hear the moisture drip from the pipes. That dreadful stillness that plagued the halls brought about a knew sense of terror within the stragglers hiding from the unknown entity that came from the abyss. Bodies littered the halls, marinating in a pool of their own blood. Some were slumped against the walls, others lied still on the floor, and a few were even dangling from the ceiling by their feet.

The sound of a corpse being dragged was heard, leaving a trail of blood in its wake. It was a slow, methodical noise that would make anyone shiver. A dull thump was heard as it was dropped in one of the pitch black rooms.

Fingers slowly wrapped around the frame of a door, its owner slowly emerging from the darkness and sweeping the ominous halls for his next target. He didn't need to rush, this section was sealed off and its occupants were effectively trapped in here with him. They'd tire themselves out and would eventually meet their end, whether by his hands, blade, or guns. It really depended on how close they were.

The sound of metal falling in the distance made him snap in its direction. He calmly made his way towards it, listening to the sound of panicked running and whispers. Weaving through the series of twists and turns of the facility. The active camo was turned on and he peered around a corner, seeing two scientists trying to open an elevator with a guard. Sweat glistened their faces and he continued to stare at them from his spot, studying them like one would on a microscope.

The light above him made a loud buzzing noise before it popped and the section of the hall was bathed in the shadows. He could hear the three of them start to slowly, but steadily hyperventilate when the dark played with their mind. None of them said anything and the scientists went back to trying to open the elevator. The guard gulped as he stared at the space and quick flashes of sparks at the far end of the hall made his pupils shrink in horror.

Six was just standing there, staring at the three. It was like he was just waiting for them to get their hopes up, only to crush them at the very end.

"I got it!" One of the scientists cheered, watching the elevator door open. The two scientists rushed in and waited for the guard. He started to rush in before he flew forward and slammed against the elevator wall. A cry of pain barely escaped his lips before he started to disintegrate when he was shot in the back with the Binary Rifle. The other two found their backs pressed against the wall and staring at the dark hallway.

The one on the right repeatedly pressed the button to close the door.

"Hurry up!" The one on the left shouted fearfully.

"I-I'm trying!" The first one responded frantically, pressing the button even more quickly. When the doors started to close, the one on the left suddenly slammed against the wall. He cried out in terror when he looked at his hand start to disintegrate, along with the rest of his body. The other scientist could only watch as her partner's cells were broken down and he started to turn to ash. His final scream was seared into her mind as the doors closed and she found her back against the wall. Her breaths were quick and short, trying to get as much oxygen in her lungs in a short amount of time.

That deathly silence returned and tears stung her eyes, spilling over and landing on the floor. Her sobs were the only sound of life within the quiet section of the facility as she stood alone. The lights buzzed and flickered and she looked up at them before shielding her eyes when they seemed to brighten up before shutting off. The small space was suddenly pitch black and she frantically brought out her scroll, wincing when the brightness blinded her for a second.

She scrolled through the countless messages, reading each one and the color in her face seemed to seep away the more she read. How each one of her coworkers were in such a manic state that they were praying or begging for someone to help them, save them from their deaths. There was no saving them, none of them and it was something that was the stuff of nightmares.

Her camera was turned on and she looked at herself, seeing her disheveled state. Something in the background caught her attention, making her squint her eyes to see it better. It was like the shadows moved and danced around. Her body went stiff when an alien noise met her ears and she saw a cloaked figure behind her. It made no noise nor movement, all it did was just stare down at her.

This... thing was in here the whole time, standing behind her and watching her every movement.

She dropped her scroll and gave a muffled scream when she was picked up, mouth covered by a large hand. Her legs kicked wildly in the air before the sound of a blade meeting flesh was heard. Blood splattered all over the dropped scroll, illuminating the elevator in a deep red color. The ceiling panel was snapped off and the hatch was opened. The body was dragged upwards and hauled up into the shaft, leaving a puddle of blood the only thing that was left from its previous victim.

Dark halls were reigned by the ominous silence once more as the last of the stragglers on this floor were gone. Blood painted the once pristine metal and the small amount of evil was purged, but there was still more to be dealt with. The machine's goal wasn't complete yet.

Guards aimed their weapons at the elevator, keeping a tight formation when they saw the numbers rise. There was a small ping and all was silent, every single one of them waiting anxiously for the doors to open. Once they did, each one saw the elevator stained with blood. A lot of it was on the ground and some of it splattered against the wall. Some noticed that there was a trail leading up the back wall, directly into the ceiling hatch. Two of them were ordered to go in and they did, keeping their weapons ready as they entered the small space.

When they saw nothing inside, the first one made it out while the second one stopped suddenly when he heard a noise. He looked up, as did the others, before screaming when a hand burst through the ceiling and gripped the top of his head. His body was starting to be pulled upwards and his head squeezed tightly.

"H-Help me! Oh Gods! Help!" He shouted in terror and agony. The closest one, in an act of desperation, clamped his body around the other guard and tried to pull him down. The other guards broke formation and rushed inside, trying to free the guard from the iron grasp. Another guard looked and went to the hatch, climbing up with the help from another. His eyes widened when he saw the hooded figure staring at the guard that was grabbed. He saw it go still before snapping its head his direction.

There was barely any time to comprehend what happened when the first guard was let go and the figure darted at him. With the speed of a viper, he was snatched up into the hatch. The others heard him scream in agony before a wet, tearing noise was heard and it went quiet. Blood dribbled down the hatch opening and the others backed up slowly while keeping their weapons raised.

The guard's torso was dropped into view, twisted and ripped off. Organs spilled from the large hole and blood splattered upon impacting with the ground. Their hearts were pounding in their chest and something was lodged inside of the corpse. It beeped quietly and the others squinted their eyes to get a better look at it.

"Is that?" One of them asked before the device exploded, covering the area in a thick cloud of smoke. They coughed and gagged when the thick substance clogged their lungs then blinded them. Each one snapped to attention when a gunshot rang out, killing one instantly. Another one was heard and another guard was dead, a bleeding hole in their eye. More shots rang out and more guards found themselves dead or choking on their blood.

Five more shots were heard and another five guards were dead in a matter of seconds. The remaining guards darted through the smoke, some finding their way out, others found themselves meeting death several seconds sooner. A disgusting squelch and crack was heard when one of them had their throat caved in and their neck broken from the barrel of the DMR. Another one had his head crushed, blood splattering against the wall when Six slammed his knee into their face.

The others started to run away from him while he calmly walked through the smoke, killing the first ones he saw with the Boltshot. Their panicked screams were ignored as he continued to mercilessly kill them, smoking holes left in their heads and he stepped over the bodies. He followed them down the hall robotically, tilting his head in curiosity when they rounded a corner and kept running away from him. All he did was trail them until he reached the corner, killing one that was still in view.

Once he rounded the corner and aimed the Boltshot with his right hand, gunfire erupted throughout the hall. The unlucky ones jerked around and collapsed to the ground when countless rounds tore holes in their bodies. The heavy machine gun fire ate away at his shields and depleted them almost instantly. His suit blared in alarm and he grunted when several rounds bounced off his armor. He could slightly feel the impact and twisted around a corner before any significant damage could be done.

A homemade flash grenade was pulled and using his left hand, he tossed it around the corner. It clattered against the ground and detonated, blinding the gunner who made the mistake of looking at it. They jerked their head to the side and rubbed their eyes furiously as spots danced in their vision.

Six pulled out the Binary Rifle and watched it snap into place. He walked out of cover and aimed it, seeing a fuel canister behind the gunner. He aimed the rifle at it before firing once, striking the canister with an alien noise. The reaction was almost instant and the hallway was illuminated in an orange light as the canister exploded. The gunner was barely seen before their body was thrown to the side and engulfed in a sea of flames, killing them almost instantly.

It went quiet and he walked through the hall, stepping over the dead bodies that were killed by the gunner. They littered the ground and stained the once pristine floor in a reddish hue. Blood stuck to the bottom of his boots and every time he lifted his foot, some of it dribbled off. He didn't care though, it would eventually come off or he'd wash it off in a bit.

A hum escaped his lips when his head snapped to the side when he heard a faint noise. He heard panicked breathing and a red blip appeared on his motion tracker. There was one last enemy left and he went towards one of the rooms, seeing the door locked. A muffled noise was heard and he pulled out his shotgun, placing it against the door before squeezing the trigger. The bark from the shogun rang out throughout the halls and bounced off the walls.

The person on the other side flew forward and collapsed on the ground. A hole the side of a dinner plate was in their torso and blood, organs, and bones caked the area. He slammed his shoulder into the door and it fell to the side. His eyes scanned the room before he saw their body; picking it up, he threw it to the side and looked at each of the documents in the room. The children were kept on the next floor and he read all that he could.

After spending several minutes collecting and processing the information, he burned all of it before stepping out. Looking both ways, he saw the carnage he caused and ignored it for the most part. He didn't have to worry about Grimm seeing how they couldn't get in the facility. Merlot wasn't foolish enough to allow Grimm, mutated or not, to run rampant within the walls.

"Merlot is still trying to figure out what's wrong with this section of the facility." Auspicious commented lightly.

"I take it you're having fun?" He asked.

"In all honesty... I am. The buffoon is throwing items in his office in anger." She giggled mischievously.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Collecting his information before deleting it in front of his eyes. Years upon years of this disgusting action he calls "research" is being destroyed right before his eyes. He went from smug, to alarmed, to angry, and now he's throwing things like a child." She shook her chassis.

"Have you located Myne and the others?" He asked.

"Believe it or not, their room is on the next floor." She answered.

"Take me there." He said.

"Marking the way to the nearest elevator." She attached herself back onto his strap. An objective marker appeared and he walked towards it.

As soon as the doors opened to the elevator, he fired his shotgun at the nearest guard. The others were momentarily shocked at his sudden appearance but he took the opportunity to kill a few of them. The first one's head exploded in a shower of gore, the second one screamed when he shot their leg and blew it off before stomping on their skull, and the third one barely got the chance to react before he broke their neck with an uppercut.

The others collected themselves and started to fire at him, but he shot each one in the head with the shotgun. Their skulls ripped apart, exploding like watermelons and gore splattering the walls and ground. His shields flared up in response to the fire, but he just put his shotgun in his left hand and pulled out the Boltshot. Each shot he fired struck one of the guards in their head, leaving them crumbling to the ground with a smoking hole in their cranium. They were quick and precise, eliminating whatever hostile got in his way.

Some of them ran out of ammo and tried to reload, but he never gave them the chance. He took cover to let his shields recharge before leaning around the corner to fire at two more guards, listening to their bodies drop. The last one looked at him in terror and barely had time to react when he saw his comrades die quickly. His eyes widened when Six rushed up to him and fired the charged Boltshot at him. The body disintegrated shortly after.

The halls went silent on this floor as Auspicious floated in front of him before pulsing several times. He watched her for a minute before she clamped back onto his strap and informed him.

"There is one person left, a doctor." She informed.

"Hmm..." He hummed and started to walk, once again ignoring the bodies. Each one held a terrified expression that barely phased him in the slightest. His kukri scrapped against the walls, creating an awful noise as he drew closer to the room the scientist was in. There was the sound of stuff being shoved in front of a door as he started to approach the room they were in. It was a feeble attempt to delay the inevitable and it was almost humorous at this point.

Their resistance was futile. Nothing would stop him from collecting their souls and delivering them straight to hell.

He gripped the door and started to force it open, peering inside at the scared man. The man was frozen in fear as he stared at the ominous cloaked figure, fingers curling around the edge of the door. With a simple shove that barely took any strength, the barricade clattered to the side and the door was open. He watched the large figure tilt its head and observe him before rushing up to him and lifting him by the throat with one hand.

"Where are the children?" Six asked, his tone cold and even.

"I... don't know where the... brats are." The man choked.

"You're lying." Six responded before bringing out his knife and stabbing the man in his thigh, twisting the blade a few times and drawing an agonized gasp.

"I'm not... we lost them... when the power was cut..." The man choked. Six narrowed his eyes and squeezed a bit harder before he stopped when he heard the Monitor pop off his strap. She floated to the side of the room and saw a curtain, flying towards it before seeing what was behind it.

"Reclaimer..." She backed up towards him. He dropped the scientist and slowly walked to where she was floating in place. Time seemed to come to a crawl the closer he got and when he was finally next to her, something made him stop. His hand wrapped around the edge of the curtain and he slid it to the side, eyes widening when he saw something that made him freeze for a second.

There was a child, around the age of eleven or twelve, on an operating table. Her torso was opened up, exposing all of her organs for all to see. Both of her lungs were surgically removed as well as her heart. They were placed in a cooler to the side and had their destination marked on a clipboard nearby. Her kidneys were placed in coolers as well while her ribs were broken and lied still on a tray next to him. The bloody tools on another tray made him pick one up and inspect it before dropping it on the ground. When he turned back, he saw that her eyes were wide open, staring at the light above.

There were some notes nearby and he read that this one was considered a failure, that her organs were to be harvested and sold on the Black Market to generate more funds. There was even a detailed picture on how much each of her organs were worth. A significant amount came from Mistral, but Atlas was another big benefactor. Mainly the rich had a hand in it. The clipboard clattered against the ground after being scanned and uploaded to his tablet, he still never got rid of the thing after Auspicious tinkered with it.

"These tanks are full. They never attempted to numb the pain or put them under-" The Monitor stopped when she saw him tense abruptly.

He slowly turned his head towards the man crawling towards the door, making him stalk towards him before gripping his ankle. The victim barely got a chance to scream before Six swung him into one of the many cupboards, letting him fall down.

"Wait-" The man lifted his hand, only to scream in agony when Six gripped his index and middle finger in one hand then his ring and pinky finger in the other. He jerked his hands in opposite directions and a wet, tearing noise was heard. A guttural scream echoed throughout the room and halls as the blubbering victim wailed in agony, clutching his mutilated hand.

Six gripped him by his throat and slammed him onto the ground before grabbing a scalpel and bone saw. He expertly made a large incision in the man's head and spread the flesh, then proceeded to gouge his eyes out with the scalpel. He took the bone saw and placed it against the top of the man's skull. The sound of bone being cracked and sawed away was heard as he quickly went back and forth. Blood splattered and flew in the air as he mutilated the deranged doctor's skull. A wet squelching noise was heard as he reached the brain and threw the surgical tool away.

His hands reached inside and he gripped the opening before tearing the skull apart with an enraged grunt. That familiar crimson liquid squirted against his visor and colored it red. He picked the corpse up and slammed it on the ground before stomping on it some more, crushing it underneath his weight and mutilating the body more. He stopped stomping and looked at the mangled body, kicking it into the wall.

He swore never to stoop this low once more, but these... evil sacks of flesh deserved it. After seeing what they had been doing for possibly years, then they deserved every single ounce of pain. Especially after reading about this man.

"Find me the rest of the scientists and guards." He ordered almost silently.

"With pleasure." She nodded.

"..." Just as he was about to walk out, he stopped when he saw the body of the girl. He walked up to her and gently closed her eyes, letting the Monitor put her organs back into her and seal her back up. He placed her hands above her chest and the Auspicious disintegrated the body. The girl's cells broke down and her body started to turn to ash and float up into the air. Once there was nothing left but an empty bed caked with blood, he walked out of the room and down the hall.

After a few minutes of walking, he found the nursery and entered it. He saw a dozen or so beds and there were childish items sprawled about. Carefully observing each one, he saw there were drawings and notes from the different children. The grammar was horrible though, which meant they were too young to properly write or were never given a proper education. The latter seemed more possible in his opinion.

He stopped when he saw a picture on the ground and knelt down, scooping up in his hands. It was him on the left side and Maaya on the right, with Myne smack dead in the middle. There was the apartment in the background and a sun drawn in the right upper corner. His eyes flicked to his left thumb, blood covering the drawing of him and smearing it all over his figure. He might as well be painted with blood, seeing how much he's spilled over the years. What would Myne think of him if she even had an inkling of the sins he's committed?

"Reclaimer?" Auspicious floated in front of him.

"..." He looked at her.

"I believe I have their trail." She said.

"How?" He asked, already knowing who she was talking about.

"There was a blood trail nearby, it slipped into the ventilation shaft. No adult would be able to fit in there." She answered.

"Where did this trail lead?" He asked, folding the drawing and putting it in his bag along with some of the other items from the room. Following her out of the room.

"To the laundry area." She answered.

"Show me." He said.

"What about the scientists?" She asked.

"I need to find the children and get them to a safe spot. Merlot and his acolytes won't do anything seeing how they're still dealing with the damage. He can't do anything and is restricted to that section of the facility seeing how you cut them off and sealed this part from the rest of it." He explained.

"Understood, I'll keep him busy in the meantime. There will be a Sentinel heading in our direction as well." She nodded and attached herself back onto his strap. He looked forward and brought out his DMR, keeping it low but ready as his new path was set.

Myne followed the rest of her group, keeping her hand interlocked with another child's. They all quietly crept through the halls of the laundry area, the tumble of the washers and dryers were one of the only sounds they heard. This area wasn't like the upstairs, it looked a little run down from the years, but still maintained its full functionality. None of them really said too much and would hide in a small area when they thought they heard something. They would wait a few minutes before getting out of their spot then continue onwards.

The flashlight flickered a bit and Isaac smacked it a few times and it started working properly again. One of the children cut her foot on a piece of broken glass and cringed when it dug into her foot. She held back a scream as they found a small secluded spot and took it out carefully. Blood leaked from the wound and tears welled in the corner of her eyes, yet she didn't scream. Noise meant something nearby would hear, which led to that thing finding them, and their known location meant death.

One of the children scampered down the hall and got a clean sheet, dragged it back dropping it near them. Nana ripped a shred off with her teeth and they wrapped the girl's foot. The white fabric started to bleed into a deep red color as it absorbed the blood. They repeated this process for the next several minutes until the bleeding eventually stopped altogether. Her foot was bandaged with their last clean strip and they were off again.

Their communication was kept at a bare minimum, it was the safest way. Each one of them were positive that there was no one down here, but it was better safe than sorry. Every single one of their steps was quiet and their eyes constantly snapped to the smallest noise. A noise in the distance made them snap to its general direction and they heard several pairs of feet. The beam of a flashlight made their pupils shrink with alarm and they constantly tried to find a place to hide.

They didn't react in time and they were suddenly blinded by the light.

"I found them!" A guard shouted. Myne yelped along with the others when the guards started to shoot at them. Bullets struck the ground near them and they all turned to run down the hall. Their hearts slammed in their chests rapidly as they sprinted down the long hallway, using items as cover. They moved as fast as their legs could carry them and darted around a corner. Myne tripped but got up just as quick before following the others.

"Hey!" Isaac yelled at her, catching her attention. She saw them all enter a room, waiting for her and she wasted no time in bolting inside. The door slammed shut and they all used their combined strength to pull a shelf in front of it. It screeched and made a horrible noise that made their ears ring but they ignored it. Once it was in front of the door, they looked around and saw that it was a dead end.

"No, no, no, no, no, no!" One of them panicked. There was a vent on the ceiling, but it was out of their reach and the only way to get up to it was the shelf they had used as a barricade. None of them had time to process how their hopes of escape were effectively crushed until they head pounding on the door. The shelf jerked around when the door was slammed on and more voices outside were heard.

"The last of the little shits are inside there!" A guard shouted.

"Chasing them down here, I can't wait to kill those little bastards!" Another one exclaimed excitedly.

"Keep it together, we already caught the other ones and killed them. We just need to mop up the stragglers and-" The leader stopped when he heard a noise.

The children noticed the pounding stopped as well, the air suddenly growing quiet. The huddled together in an empty box and stared out of it with hesitation and fear, not bothering to move a muscle and possibly accept their fates. Myne was too, her goal of seeing her parents were effectively crushed as were the others. All they wanted was to be free and they'd never get that chance.

"O-Oh Gods... Charlie." One of them threw up when there was a rolling noise. The lights flickered and the children could hear a sudden shot of gunfire ring out. They heard the guards scream in a mixture of terror and anger, shouting something about some unstoppable machine. Something collided with the wall and shook the room before a sickening crack was heard. There was the sound of something alien being fired and the guards screaming in pain for a brief second before going quiet. It went quiet for a few seconds before the door was cracked open and they all saw a lone hand reach inside, making them shrink back.

"H-H-Help me! Oh Gods, h-help-" The last guard pleaded before suddenly going quiet and the hand going limp. It was dragged out of view and they all heard the sound of bodies being dragged. After a minute of dragging, the sound of something charging up was heard as well and it fired several times. Something big was heading towards the room and they couldn't do anything but close their eyes. The door banged a few times before it flew open and knocked the shelf over as well.

Dust kicked up when the heavy metal piece landed on the ground. It was quiet and they refused to open their eyes in fear of whatever was staring at them. The sound of the door being closed made them whimper in fear and the shelf was moved to the side. They were so scared...

Myne slowly cracked her eyes open as tears ran down her cheeks. She saw the familiar brown cloth she always adored and rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't dreaming or hallucinating. When she was sure that it was him, she hesitantly crawled forward and flinched when he adjusted his kneeling position.

"Daddy?" She whispered with uncertainty, seeing him stiffen for a quick second before returning to normal. Her heart started to beat rapidly and when he nodded, she started to scramble forward and cry a bit more.

"It's me, Myne." He nodded.

"Daddy!" She sobbed and shot to her feet before running at him. He scooped her into his arms and brought her close to him, wrapping his arms around her protectively. He was glad he looked for her first instead of going for Merlot and the rest of his minions first. Had he not looked for them, then his entire mission of getting her back would have been in vain.

Her tears stained the hood of his cloak but he ignored it and brought his hand to the back of her head. She wrapped her arms around his neck tightly and continued to cry into him, thinking he would disappear at any moment. He closed his eyes and kept her close, letting her get it all out of her system at the moment. It had been so long since he's seen her that her mere presence was like an oasis in a desert.

He set her on her feet and gently wiped away the tears in her eyes. She hiccupped several times and sniffled as he brought out his bag and fished inside of it. Her stuffed rabbit was brought out and he handed it to her, watching her cling to it like a lifeline. Her crying had stopped but her hiccups and sniffles were still present. It was okay since he was here now. He had work to do though; Merlot was still a threat and he knew that the mad man wouldn't let them leave alive, not while he was still breathing.

A small noise made him look ahead to see six other children huddled inside of an empty, flipped over box. Their backs were pressed against the surface and they stared at him with fear. He scooted forward and held his hand out towards them, not at all bothered by their gazes. They were terrified of him and he understood why. The minutes bled by and they constantly looked at Myne's content face to be convinced.

Isaac was the first one who slowly crawled out, accepting Six's hand. The Spartan gently helped him stand up before repeating the process with the rest then scooting back a bit. Myne hugged him and he returned the gesture once more, finding a small amount of warmth within the interaction.

"Are you going to kill us?" Isaac asked.

"No." Six shook his head. His voice had calmed down the young boy slightly and he saw how skinny these kids were. There was the sound of someone's stomach rumbling and Nana quickly put her arms over it, hiding behind Isaac. The fur on her tail rose and her appendage was stiff with fear at the behemoth before them. They gulped when he stood to his full height and easily placed the shelf over the door. He stood a distance away with Myne hugging his leg.

He took his bag off and fished inside of it before bringing out some food. There was a container full of meat and vegetables, he also brought out a can of fruit as well. He placed the container on the ground before sliding it over to them. Each one was hesitant, looking at him and the container of food several times before digging in. Once they got a taste of it, he watched them ravenously dig into it. Like a pack of hungry animals, they tore into the food and in the span of a minute it was gone.

The can of mixed fruit was opened and they backed up when he dumped the contents into the container. Their nostrils were flooded with a sweet, syrupy scent and they wasted no time in digging into that as well. Each one of their hands were covered in the syrup and became slightly sticky from it. Their mouths as well. Myne looked at him when he brought out a can of peaches and handed it to her. She gave him a wobbly smile before eating it quietly.

Another can of fruit was dumped into the container and he backed up, stopping when their eyes started to water a bit. They started crying a bit when they made it clear they had never had something like this before; all their food was either bland or a pile of gunk. He nodded in understanding before noticing their bandages. Myne looked at him when he gently took her arm and unwrapped her bandages.

Scarring from a large incision was seen and he glared at it before closing his eyes and calming down. He looked at the others and noticed bandages on them as well, making him go towards them. They went stiff and closed their eyes when he gently took their arms and legs before inspecting them. Their eyes opened when he changed their bandages and dressed their wounds. Nothing he did was harmful towards them with the exception of applying disinfectant on their cuts then wrapping them up. Once he was done, he gave them some water from his canteen. It was little things like these that made him not seem like another monster in their eyes.

The Monitor popped off his bag and floated up to him, pulsing a gentle hum when they stared at her.

"There are two Sentinels nearby ready to protect them." She said.

"Good." He nodded, picking up his bag and slinging it over his shoulder.

"Daddy? Are we leaving?" Myne tugged at his cloak.

"Not yet. I have to leave for a minute." He knelt down to her level. It was odd to hear her calling him that, but it wasn't unexpected given the circumstances.

"I thought you were saving us?" She asked, tears starting to well up.

"I am. Merlot won't let us leave if I don't deal with him first. I need you all to stay here and be good." He wiped away the tears.

"After that we'll go see mommy?" She asked.

"We will..." He nodded. She gave him one last hug and he wrapped his arms around her, squeezing her in reassurance before putting one last can of food down. He opened the door and let the Sentinel inside while the other one remained outside the door. Both constructs fulfilling their duty in guarding the young ones. He gave one last look at the young eyes, seeing the light appear in them, then closed the door.

It was time to end this nightmare once and for all. He was going to rip Merlot apart and whatever little follower he had as well. No one would even miss them because there would be nothing to miss by the time he was done with them.

He raised his shotgun up to his chest and pumped it, ejecting the spent shell before moving forward towards his prey.

Yes, another chapter. I might as well come forth and say that I already have this part and the next part practically finished. As far as reviews go, I'm just going to take a break answering them for a minute. I do read them however so there's that. I just want to say one thing, can some of you... not start an argument or war in the review section? I know it's not all of you and a vast majority of you don't but the few that do... stop. For some reason, it makes me feel that I'm doing something wrong because some people have conflicting opinions about the story.

Anyways, I'll just say it again and I'll keep saying it; if you don't like the story then the door is wide open. Will I be a little bummed out if some people leave because it don't go their way?

Not really, I kind of stopped caring at this point in time. The door on the way out is right there and nothing is stopping you. I'm mainly here for the ones who enjoy it and look forward to it regardless of the direction I take. I'd like to thank you guys for sticking with me, means a lot.

Someone asked me what I feel about Halo Infinite, and I'll tell you that I'm excited for it. I'm so excited for it and I've been waiting several years for a good Halo game. I haven't been this excited for a game since Red Dead Redemption 2.

Some other person asked me Johnny Topside and if it's getting a rewrite and the answer is yes. It's currently in production and I want to do something different than the previous version so there's that.

Anyways, thanks and I'll see you all on the flip side.
