"Who are you?" Hermione questioned, her wand held out tightly in front of her.
The man smiled at the sight. "I think you already know the answer to that. Don't worry Hermione, I won't hurt you. Yet."
"How did you know my name?"
"I tend to keep track of those who disturb the balances of nature. And you've found yourself on that list."
Hermione felt as if she couldn't breathe anymore. "I have no idea what you're talking about." She lied.
The man looked at her as if she was a naive child. "Miss Granger, we both know you're lying. Drop the act."
"Who are you and what do you want?" She asked.
The man shrugged. "I like to call myself Havoc. And what I want is for you to let Draco Malfoy kill himself."
Hermione shook her head. "I can't do that."
The man, Havoc, grinned menacingly. "Let me rephrase that. I am warning you to stop interfering or else, I would personally ensure that Draco Malfoy and his loved ones suffer tremendously."
Havoc moved towards her and she stiffened, positioning herself in such a way so she could attack him if needed. "Whom would I go for first? His mother, surrounded by a few of the most dangerous wizards, might get hit by a stray curse. Or perhaps sweet, innocent Theodore Nott, the boy whom Draco has protected for a long time, would fall off one of the ever-changing staircases? Or maybe Snape, his godfather, would meet an unfortunate accident while brewing a deadly potion?" Hermione swallowed slowly, trying to hide the fear she felt. "The possibilities are endless Hermione. Think quickly."
Hermione shook her head. "You can't scare me away."
Havoc grinned menacingly. "What if it was someone close to you? Maybe one small quidditch accident would leave Ron paralyzed, even the most potent potions not doing any good. Your parents are dentists, they work with complex machinery. Accidents are very common, aren't they?" He stepped forward and she took a step back. "Don't play with me, Hermione. Or else, I'll ruin your life."
With that, he disappeared and Hermione dropped down to the floor, struggling to breathe.
Then the doors to the Room opened and Draco walked in, running towards her worriedly as he saw her on the floor. "What's wrong? Love, what happened? Are you alright? Are you hurt?" He grabbed her face between his hands and searched everywhere, checking for what could have possibly caused her distress.
Hermione grabbed onto his wrists tightly. "I'm fine, it's nothing."
Draco frowned at her. "You don't seem alright, you're crying."
Hermione shook her head. "I'm fine. Just, hold me."
Without a second's delay, Draco pulled her tightly into him, grabbing onto her, whispering words of reassurance into her hair as she cried into his chest.
A few minutes or hours later she finally stopped crying. She glanced up at Draco who looked at her with increasing concern. "I'm sorry about your shirt. It's all messed up with mascara and tears and snot." She whispered.
Draco shot her an incredulous look. "Fuck that Hermione. What happened?" Hermione opened her mouth to deny but his glare stopped her. "Don't you dare say it was nothing. I have never seen you like this. What's wrong love? Tell me. Tell me so I can go fix it because I can't bare to see you cry like this."
Hermione shook her head. "It's just one of those day. Exam stress, all the things happening out there, not knowing when the war might reach us. I'm fine. You make me feel better."
"You don't have to meet my friends if you don't want to," Draco stated and Hermione sat up straight.
"Oh goodness, I had forgotten about that. Have they been waiting outside this whole time?" Hermione felt her cheeks flush in embarrassment. They only could've assumed what had taken them so long and she knew it wasn't what they had actually done.
Draco shook his head. "It doesn't matter. If you don't want to meet them then you don't have to."
Hermione disagreed. "No, I do want to meet them. I am excited to meet them, especially after Theo defended me against Pansy."
Draco used his thumb to wipe away the tears on her face. He slowly slid his thumb to her lips, brushing it against them. He repeated the action and this time, he bent down, taking her lips with his own, running his tongue against them. Hermione opened her mouth allowing him entrance and grasped onto his shirt collar.
He squeezed her waist and instantly pulled back. "Promise me you're fine?" He questioned seriously.
"You're here Draco. Nothing can be wrong."
He closed his eyes and his face contorted as if he was in pain. "Your trust in me breaks my heart, Granger."
Two days later, Hermione sat patiently waiting for Transfiguration to end. She felt ashamed to say that she had not been paying attention at all, her entire focus on Havoc's warning and Draco.
The same Draco who had requested her to meet him in the Astronomy Tower after the final class of the day. She wondered why he had called her there. Would her dream actually come true? Hermione felt her stomach drop as she noticed the 17 inked on her wrist.
When Professor McGonagall finally ended class, Hermione started packing her stuff quickly, only to be stopped by Harry.
"Are you going somewhere?" He questioned suspiciously.
Hermione frowned at him. "What's the point of asking if you're going to check the map anyway?"
He let out an aggravated sigh. "I don't know Hermione. You seem to have distanced yourself from us. All of us. And I really don't think being around Malfoy is only to prove me wrong. And I'm fine if you have feelings for him. But I don't want you to have to hide from me."
She narrowed her eyes at him. "You would be fine if I liked him?" She questioned.
Harry scrunched his nose in contemplation. "I mean, I still hate him and think he is up to something, but, if you're happy, then I promise not to say anything." After a pause, he added. "At least not around you." She chuckled at his words and gave him a hug.
"I'll try and make more time for you guys. I've just been busy with studies and exams coming up-"
"And Malfoy," Harry added with a tilt of his head.
"And Draco, yes."
Harry must've noticed her bouncing at her feet, wanting to rush away so he waved her off, telling her to shoo away.
Hermione rushed out of class, making her way to the Astronomy tower as quickly as she could. She weaved through the crowds of students and finally made it to the bottom. She quickly checked around to see if anyone was there and when the coast was clear, she ran up the stairs.
When she reached the final flight of stairs, she saw Draco sitting with a book in his hand. He glanced up and gave her a smile so beautiful, it took her breath away.
Suddenly, she felt her ankle twist and saw him widen his eyes in fear as she became unbalanced and started to fall behind. It seemed as if the world had once again slowed down. She saw him quickly get up, rushing towards her as she slowly fell back. She felt herself tumble down the stairs and then there was complete darkness.
"Granger."
"Please get up Hermione."
"Open your eyes."
She felt someone jerking her roughly and opened her eyes. She saw Draco glaring at her and frowned. She felt something wet at the back of her head and when she brought her hand to it, she found it red with blood.
"What the bloody hell is wrong with you?" Draco asked her rudely.
Hermione narrowed her eyes at him. "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? I fell down. I lost consciousness. You could do with some better bedside manner."
Draco scoffed. "Thank you for your suggestion. However, I hope you learn to walk properly without breaking your leg, therefore, I won't have to grace with my atrocious bedside manners next time."
Hermione tried to sit up but Malfoy forced her back down, her head on his lap. " Don't move. I've healed everything, but you still might feel dizzy. I also gave you a small pain potion I keep in my bag. That might also cause some dizziness."
Hermione still got up. "Well, what did you want to do here?"
Draco rolled his eyes. "Well, I had planned on snogging you under the stars, going down on you, maybe getting a return favor, but now I think I should take you Pomphrey, just in case."
Hermione made a noise in the back of her throat. "There's no need for that, I'm fine. See" She tried to stand up but got woozy as soon as she did, dropping back on the floor.
Draco sighed and got up, lifting her in his arms and carrying her down the stairs. "I'd rather you not pass out in between our activities. It would be quite difficult to explain." Hermione wrapped her arms around his neck, rubbing her face on his chest.
Hermione began to feel slightly sleepy as she swayed in his arm, the cold Scotland air biting her skin. "Do you know, when people get married, the groom carries his bride like this over the threshold? It's a ritual."
Draco hummed. "Why do they do that?" He hitched her up in his arms as he made his way inside the bright castle.
"Well, there are many reasons. Some believe it's so that the groom can protect the bride from the evil floor. Some say it's so that the bride doesn't fall or trip while entering the house, that's bad luck. I believe that it comes from the times when brides weren't partners and all, but conquests. The groom had to forcefully carry his wife over the threshold to their bed."
"That is barbaric Granger." Draco sighed as he glanced at the set of stairs he would have to climb.
Hermione tapped his nose with a finger. "Why? You wouldn't want me as a conquest?"
Draco shook his head. "I think you hit your head harder than I thought."
She dropped her head back. "Well, just so you know, I expect to be carried over the threshold when we get married."
Draco let out a small laugh. "When and not if? Are you proposing Granger?"
Hermione shook her head from side to side. "Nope. It's just a dream. Hopefully, we'll be alive to see it happen."
Draco nudged the Hospital Wing door open with his shoulder. "You will live through this Granger. Nothing could hurt you, except yourself apparently."
He dropped her on a bed and was about to go call Madame Pomphrey, but Hermione grabbed his hand. "But what about you? Promise me you'll live."
He paused for a moment and that was enough to worry her. "Please Draco, I need you to live." Her voice cracked as she spoke, tears pooling in her eyes. "Promise me Draco."
Draco held onto her hand and looked straight into her eyes. "I promise Hermione."
Hermione gave him a small smile and then closed her eyes, darkness enveloping her.
Fortunately, Madame Pomphrey had released Hermione the next morning, reprimanding her for being so clumsy.
Draco had done the same via letter, informing her that every tryst from then on would either be in the library or the ROR where she wouldn't accidentally murder herself.
Hermione decided to spend the day in the library trying to search for any information she could find on 'Havoc'.
She threw a bunch of books on the table placed against the wall. She huffed out a breath of irritation when she found nothing useful.
Suddenly, Hermione felt someone wrap their arms around her and pull her towards them. "Whoever you are, you don't want to do this."
He dragged his nose across her cheekbones, his breath fluttering against her skin. "And why is that?"
"I have a boyfriend, and he gets very jealous and possessive when he sees me with another man." She was enveloped by the scent of Draco's cologne and grinned brightly.
"This boyfriend of yours sounds like an amazing person." His voice was husky as his hand glided down from her waist to the hem of her skirt.
Hermione shook her head, her underwear probably soaked through just by his presence. "My boyfriend's a twat." She whispered.
"Is that so?" His voice deepened as his hand moved up under her skirt, centimeters away from where she wanted them. "Maybe that's because his girlfriend loves to give him heart attacks so frequently?"
Draco pushed himself closer to her and Hermione could feel his length against her backside. She did everything to withhold her moan.
"We're in the library, anyone can see." Hermione protested, but wrapped her hand around his shoulder, leaning against him.
"Then you better be silent and quick love." He muttered into her ear as he plunged a finger through her opening, a gasp leaving her.
He slowly moved his finger in and out of her, his hand moving to her breast, squeezing one tightly, before pinching her nipple through her shirt.
"I can't wait to get you naked on a bed." He groaned as he added a second finger, increasing his pace. Hermione was panting loudly, her breathing increasingly shallow. Draco softly bit Hermione at her pulse before lapping his tongue around the bite, soothing it.
She clenched his fingers and she knew she wouldn't last any longer.
"That's it, good girl. Come for me, Granger." He whispered while he kissed her ear. As she felt herself climaxing, she couldn't help the sounds that came out of her mouth.
Draco muffled her voice with his hand. "Shhhhh. Wouldn't want everyone to know the Gryffindor Princess likes to get finger fucked in the library, would you?" His thumb pressed on her clit. "And by the Slytherin Prince, in fact."
Hermione felt breathless as she rode her orgasm, completely leaning back on Draco.
He removed the hand from her mouth and turned her around, holding her upright while he brought his other hand and took them into his mouth.
Hermione's breath hitched as she saw his eyes roll back. "Merlin, you're sweeter than nectar."
She was about to reply when they heard a different voice. "Hermione? Are you here?"
Both Draco and Hermione shared a wide-eyed look as they heard Ron near them. She pushed Draco under the nearest table and sat on a chair, blocking him from view. She straightened herself out as much as she could and opened a random textbook she found.
"Oh, there you are." Hermione looked up and saw Ron leaning against a bookshelf, his tie hanging loose and his hair all ruffled up. Hermione bit back a disgusted frown as she realized that Ron had probably also been engaged in the same activities as she had been.
"Hello, Ro-on" Hermione gasped as she felt Draco slide his hands along her thighs.
Ron gave her a concerning frown but she shook her head at him. Under the table, she gave a quick kick and smiled at the 'Oomf' that came from underneath.
"What do you want?" Hermione asked.
Ron shook her head. "Ahh, nothing, it's just about Christmas."
Hermione furrowed her eyebrows and then she remembered. Ron had said the same thing last time, but he had been more frightened previously.
Hermione was about to tell him whatever he wanted was fine when she felt Draco blowing air at her vagina. She jerked in her seat.
"What about Christmas, Ron?" She managed to say, as she felt Draco give a lick along her folds. Hermione grabbed onto the table with her tightly, her legs now wrapped around Draco. She was already sensitive from before and Draco started eating her out roughly. He thrust his tongue inside her, gripping her thighs with his hands, both of them resting on his shoulders. She was grateful for the large desks which hid almost everything underneath from where Ron was standing.
"I'm really sorry though, I do wish you could come but with Bill and Fleur we really only have space for Harry and one more."
Hermione waved her hand at him. "It's okay. Lavender should go. I already had plans for Christmas."
Ron looked surprised but Hermione didn't care as Draco was now forming circles around her clit with his tongue and had added a finger inside her.
"Mione are you okay?" Ron questioned. "You look a bit flushed."
Hermione just smiled at him reassuringly. "All good Ron. This book is just so exciting." She pointed at the book that was lying in front of her. Meanwhile, Draco sucked on her nub, hard.
Ron nodded slowly and turned around. "I'll see you later then." With that, he left and then she finally let her orgasm take over her, her lower body completely numb. She dropped her head on the table as she was done. Draco popped out of the table and took a seat beside her smiling.
Hermione turned her head around and glared at Draco. "Have fun?"
Draco smiled mischievously, wiping his lips with his thumb and running that same finger along Hermione's lips. "That was the best meal I ever had." After a pause, he smirked. "Only time I've ever had to eat under a table though."
Hermione gasped outrageously and smacked him in the arm. "Well, that was the last time you'll have a meal for a very long time." She got up from her seat and left, Draco's laugh following her.
Hermione decided to go to the Room of Requirement even though she wasn't meeting with Draco. She really needed to start her research on Death and Havoc and didn't want to do it in front of people so as to not arouse any suspicion.
"Hello, Miss Granger." A familiar voice boomed and she stiffened. Hermione turned around and saw Havoc leaning against one of the bookshelves in the corner, his suit was impeccable as always.
"I see you're still tormenting me," Hermione uttered with as much confidence as she could.
Havoc raised a brow at her. "I see you still haven't given up. Why didn't you listen to me? Wasn't my little gift in the astronomy tower warning enough?"
Hermione's eyes widened. "That was you? You caused me to fall?"
Havoc smiled menacingly. "There's much more I can do if you don't stop trying to save Draco Malfoy. Next time, it won't be a small concussion."
"Why are you doing this?" She let out in exasperation.
Havoc shrugged, "It's my job as well as my title."
"Why does Draco have to die? Why do you need it to be that way? Death said he had a larger life ahead of him, why can't you let that happen?" Hermione was begging now.
Havoc studied her with pity in his eyes. "Draco Malfoy ruined his fate the day he decided to slit his wrist in the boys' bathroom at 1:27 am on the thirteenth of December. He chose a different path than the one written. And you have no right to change his path for him."
Hermione's face was wet with tears. "But this Draco hasn't done that, yet. Why does he have to suffer? Why won't you leave us alone?!"
"There is only one Draco and he needs to die. You can do whatever you want, I won't stop until this story ends the way it's supposed to, with death. And if you play with fate too much, you just might find yourself on the wrong side of it." Havoc threatened. He snapped his fingers and disappeared, leaving behind a feeling of dread in Hermione. She glanced at the 14 on her wrist and cursed Death for leaving her alone with this mess.
The next night Hermione was late when she entered the Room of Requirement. She hadn't seen Draco the entire day, he wasn't in Potions. When she asked Theo all she got was a lazy 'I'm not his keeper' from him.
She didn't even know if he would be in the Room but there he was, seated on a chair in front of a desk, a textbook laid open in front of him.
Hermione moved towards him quietly, placing both of her hands on his eyes. "Guess who?"
Draco let out a hum. "Are you the Prefect I once snogged to get out of detention?"
Hermione scoffed and smacked him, hard. "What is that supposed to mean?"
Draco let out a laugh. "Hermione, we are the only two people who come here at this time. Who else could it be?"
"I was trying to be romantic. One of us has to be."
He narrowed his eyes at her. "You think I'm not romantic?" Draco's jaw dropped in mock offense when she nodded. "Fine, what do I have to do to prove to you that I can be a romantic, only when the situation warrants it."
Hermione smiled. "Fine, prove it by being my date at Slughorn's party this Saturday."
"Not Slughorn's party. Goodness Granger, is that your concept of romance? I could do better, spending the night together in front of the fireplace, right here, in the Room of Requirement."
Hermione let out a breathy sigh. "We can do that. After the party." At his expression, she sat beside him, holding his hand. "Look, I really don't want to unknowingly insult Slughorn by not attending. And Harry won't go if I won't go and he needs to go. So, please come with me because I don't want to go alone." She exhaled in one breath.
Draco smirked at her. "All right Hermione, calm down. I'll go with you. It's already quite embarrassing that he didn't let me join the Slug Club. Rejecting a bloody Malfoy. And it's not even December yet. Why the fuck is he holding a Christmas Party in November?"
Hermione pinched his cheeks. "Do you know how cute you look when you're angry at the world?"
Draco knocked her hands off him, scowling at her. "I am not cute. And you are a terrible girlfriend for not sympathizing with me."
"Draco Malfoy, it is terrible how Professor Slughorn has not yet fallen to his knees in lieu of your greatness. Now, will you do the honor of going to the Christmas Party with me?"
Draco smiled at her and grabbed her hands, pulling her onto him. "It would be my honor." He kissed her, grabbing her thighs and seating her on his lap. "But promise me, you'll be mine that night. The entire night."
Hermione blushed but nodded.
"Good, now let me kiss my girlfriend."
After Draco had finally let her go, Hermione made her way to the Gryffindor tower. She saw Harry sitting in the common room, glancing at the fire blankly.
"Hey Harry, all good?" She questioned.
Harry turned around and gave her a small smile. "Yeah, perfectly fine. Just thinking about Sunday."
Hermione went around the couch and sat beside him. "Slughorn's party? How to butter him up and get close?"
Harry sighed. "That and the fact that I don't have a date."
She gave a small chuckle. "I'm pretty sure all the girls are dying to go out with the Chosen One."
"Just not the one I want."
Hermione patted his shoulder in sympathy. "It'll all turn out okay. Why don't you take someone as a friend? Someone fun and cool to be around."
Harry nodded in realization. "That's perfect, someone cool and fun. I know exactly whom to ask. I'll see you later Hermione." He got up from his seat and rushed towards the exit.
"Just remember to return before curfew!" She shouted after him, shaking her head at the sound of the portrait closing.
She got up from the couch and made her way up the stairs towards her room. She opened the door, finding a single person, who was neither of her roommates.
Hermione dropped her bag with as much force as she could. "Where the hell have you been?!" She exclaimed at Death who was sitting peacefully on her bed.
"There are other things I have going on you know." Death replied as he glanced at his nails.
Hermione scoffed. "Please, you gave me a time limit to prevent a man from killing himself, which just so happened to be the most difficult person to talk to. And now that I've managed to make him open up and get close to him, I have Havoc running behind me, threatening me at every turn I make. And you were just conveniently absent." She crossed her arms. "Is this a game down in the underworld? You and Havoc pair up and see whose life you can ruin the most."
Death stood up. "It's not like that. I already interfered enough by sending you back. I really can't do anything else. And don't worry about Havoc. He can't actually hurt you. He just… influences things. Causes small events that might lead to larger events. You need to avoid those."
Hermione shook her head. "How do I avoid them if I don't even know what they are?"
Death got up and made his way toward her, letting out a sigh. "I know this is difficult and I know there are a lot of other things happening around you. But I promise you, you can do this. You know you've already made a big difference to his life."
Hermione nodded, tears pooling in her eyes. She sat down on her bed, pressing her palms on her eyes. "I'm just so tired. With everything happening in the wizarding world, Harry being so paranoid and Draco." She withheld a sigh. "I just want one day where I don't feel like my world is going to come crumbling down."
Death rubbed her shoulder. "It's going to be alright. I trust you will make the best of it." He walked away, leaving Hermione in a pile of tears.
On the day of Slughorn's party, both Hermione and Harry waited outside the entrance for their dates.
"Will you tell me whom we are waiting for?" Hermione questioned for the hundredth time. She patted down her red dress, hoping it didn't seem too festive.
Harry swatted his hands in her direction. "Just be patient. You're lucky I'm not saying anything about you bringing Malfoy."
Hermione side-eyed him. "And who else was I supposed to bring if not my boyfriend?"
Harry shrugged innocently. "Oh, I don't know. Did you even ask Ron if he wanted to join?"
"Not this again." Hermione scoffed and rolled her eyes at him. "Ron is perfectly fine on sitting this one out. Something you would know if you actually talked to us instead of just telling us about what Dumbledore wants from you and how you need our help. You said you'd be fine with it. I cannot believe Ron is being easier to handle in this situation."
Harry opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. Instead, he glanced behind Hermione and his eyes widened to the size of saucers.
Hermione whirled around to find Luna dressed…
Uniquely.
"Hello Harry, I apologize for being late. I couldn't find matching shoes." She lifted the lower half of her dress to show her wearing two mismatched shoes.
Harry cleared his throat. "No problem. Let's go inside." He held Luna's arm and led her inside, leaving Hermione gobsmacked.
"Hello, love." Draco panted and he rushed beside her. He placed a kiss on her cheek which broke her out of her stance.
"What took you so long?" She questioned, ignoring Harry's choice of date.
Draco let out a muffled laugh. "Had to find a good bottle for dear old Sluggy. Tonight, I intend on fixing the Malfoy ill repute." He shook out a bottle in front of her.
Hermione smiled at him. "Well, I think your stellar personality ought to win them over."
Draco shook his head at her fondly. "You look mesmerizing by the way." He looked her up and down, causing Hermione to blush. He bent close to her and whispered into her ear. "I cannot wait until the party is over"
Hermione felt heat pooling within her at the sound of his husky voice. "Anything good?"
Draco smirked at her. "Love, it's something much better than you can imagine. I'll make you see stars in a closed room, I promise you."
Hermione withheld a moan and started walking inside the room. "Promises promises."
Hermione was pushed roughly against the wall as Draco devoured her lips. She stepped out of her heels and removed his jacket. She reached up, pulling her hair from its knot, shaking her head to allow the hair to fall.
"Merlin Granger." His voice was raspy as he unzipped her dress and pushed the sleeves of her dress down her shoulders, revealing more of her chest to him.
Hermione glanced behind Draco and saw a bed in the middle of the room. She didn't glance around to see what else the room had designed for them. "On the bed Draco." She breathed out.
He gave her a smirk. "We'll get there. Soon." He knelt his head and licked a path down to the valley between her breasts. He tugged further down on the dress but it didn't budge. "Granger, a little help?"
"You first." Hermione winked at him.
In one go, Draco removed his shirt and threw it behind him. "Now?"
Hermione huffed. "There are a few buttons and then you have to unlace-"
"Fuck it." He grumbled and grabbed the hem of the dress, tearing it up.
"Draco!" She gasped in surprise and arousal as she now stood in only her panties.
Draco shrugged. "I'll buy you a million dresses if you shut up and let me lick every inch of you."
He latched his mouth against one of her nipples. Hermione hit her head against the wall as she struggled to stand up straight. She could feel wetness pooling in her core and desperately needed some relief.
Draco slid his hand from her bare waist to the edge of her underwear, running his finger along the hem. "Do you want me to make you feel good Hermione? Do you want me to play with your pussy like it's all mine?"
"God yes." Hermione groaned out.
He instantly dropped to his knees. "God's not here love." He slowly slid her underwear down, allowing Hermione to step out of them. He placed wet kisses on her thighs, making his way up.
Draco used his fingers to rub her wetness around her folds languidly, making it difficult for Hermione to remain standing.
"Please Draco." She increased her grip on his shoulders. He slowly inserted a single finger, adding another, and moved his head forward, giving her a lick.
Hermione jerked her body, only to be held back by his hand. "Not so quickly love."
She felt her wetness increase as he moved both his fingers and tongue, working her meticulously. Very quickly, she felt her body clenching, and let out a shout as she finally climaxed.
As soon as she opened her eyes, Draco stood in front of her, grabbing her by the waist and throwing her over his shoulder.
"I cannot wait for you to scream my name throughout the entire night."
He walked over to the large bed that had been set up in the middle of the room and dropped her there, a small shriek coming from Hermione.
Draco instantly worked on removing his trousers, leaving him in only his underwear.
Hermione glanced at the shape of length, tilting her head for a moment. "Are those snitches?"
His eyes widened as he glanced down at himself. "Fuck you, Theo." He mumbled.
Hermione sat up and looked at him in question. "Theo must've charmed them after I told him I would not be returning for the night"
Hermione couldn't help the laugh that came out of her. "Well, I'm not having sex with a boy who has snitches on his underpants."
Draco knelt on the bed, moving closer to her. "Yes, well, I don't think I can resist being with a witch who says underpants."
She held her breath as he moved in closer to her. "I was trying to be elegant."
"Sometimes being elegant makes you sound like a prude." Hermione frowned at his words causing him to pause. "Wait, are you-"
"A virgin? Yes." Hermione fell flat on the bed to avoid his stare. "And there's nothing wrong with that. I believe virginity is just a social construct, made up during the olden times to put a price on-"
Draco stopped her rambling by kissing her, covering her body with his. "Merlin, Granger. I can't believe you are giving this to me." He continued kissing her in a frenzy. "Stop me now Granger, because if you don't then I will keep you forever." He rasped out.
"Please don't stop. Keep me forever Draco." She breathed out, grabbing his hair with her hands, and pulling him towards her. "Remove your snitches." She snarked out, a smile forming on his face.
"I can't not now, I need to make sure you're ready."
Hermione shook her head. "I am. Trust me I am."
Draco closed his eyes, shaking his head. She reached her hand down, reaching the band of his underwear, slowly moving her hand inside. As soon as she made contact with the tip, she saw his eyes open, pupil blown wide.
He grabbed her wrist and brought it above her head, growling at her. "Fine, you win." He stood up from the bed and removed his underwear, his erection now visible for her to see. Draco bent down and grabbed his wand from his trousers. "Do you want me to get a muggle condom or is a contraceptive charm fine?"
While she had many questions regarding his knowledge of condoms, Hermione did not have the patience for them. "Charm please." She breathed out, a warm feeling as he cast the incantation. Throwing away his wand, he got up on the bed once again, making his way towards her.
He used his legs to widen hers apart, placing himself between them. He positioned his cock at her entrance. "Granger, I need you to keep your eyes open, okay? Tell me to stop and I will, I promise."
Hermione opened her eyes and gazed at him, nodding slightly.
He slowly entered her, quickly moving out, then once again easing his way in.
She felt a pinch of discomfort which very quickly changed to pleasure.
"Still with me Hermione?" Draco asked in a muffled voice. His face was scrunched up as if in pain.
"You can go faster." She whispered out softly, her hands grabbing the bedsheets tightly.
"Thank Merlin"
He increased his pace, using a free hand to rub her clit. Hermione released breathy moans, not trying to conceal the sounds coming from her.
He continued thrusting into her, whispering meaningless mumbles in her ear. Finally, she came, Draco following her quickly, emptying himself inside her.
They both lay still for a moment before Draco detached himself from her and slumped beside her on the bed.
"That was better than anything I've ever done." Draco panted out.
Hermione smiled. "Even better than flying?"
Draco gave her a bewildered look. "So much better. I would give up quidditch if we did this all day long."
Hermione half-heartedly hit in the chest. "Well, you will have to wait a while, because I don't think I can move myself right now."
Draco propped up on his elbow, grinning widely at her. "Did I literally fuck you so hard that you can't walk?"
Hermione groaned, closing her eyes. "It's because it was my first time. Don't think too highly of yourself."
She opened her eyes when she felt Draco lift her off the bed, carrying her away. "Come and have a soak, it'll help with the soreness."
Hermione raised a brow at him. "Do you give this lovely treatment to all the other girls you've been with?"
He replied with a soft smile, staring ahead. "You're the only one Hermione."
They had finally retired for the night, lying beside each other on the bed, lost in their thoughts.
"Your Patronus is an otter, right?" Draco questioned.
Hermione nodded in affirmation. "Yes. Although, I don't know why I got an otter. They're playful and free creatures, meanwhile, I am just a stressed and suppressed Rhinoceros."
Draco raised a brow at her. "Are Rhinos stressed and suppressed? And I don't think your Patronus shows how you behave like. I think it is supposed to signify who you are on the inside. Maybe if you weren't put in such life-threatening situations, you might've been playful like an otter."
Hermione let out a huff. "What's your patronus then?"
Draco shrugged. "I don't know how to cast a patronus. Haven't had that many happy memories. Until now."
He looked straight into her eyes but all Hermione could think of was how in the previous timeline, Draco must've truly felt that he didn't have a single fond memory to lean on.
"But I think mine will be a Dragon." His voice broke her out of her chain of thought.
"Why a dragon?" She questioned out of curiosity.
Draco sighed. "Well, they are majestic creatures and I am nothing if majestic."
"They're also not very humble, much like you." For that, he pinched Hermione's side and she let out a shriek.
"And, they're my namesake and favorite creature. So obviously, Dragon."
Hermione scoffed. "Please, that way mine should have been a penguin because my favorite animal is a penguin."
Draco scrunched his nose at her. "Why on earth do you like penguins? They can't even walk properly nor can they fly."
Hermione blushed. "Well, they are very cute and it's also said that penguins spend their entire lifetime searching for a mate and being with only them."
Draco nodded. "Wow. Penguins are monogamous. Good to know." He glanced at Hermione. "I hope you don't expect that from me."
Hermione rolled her eyes at him and hit him with a cushion.
"Fucking hell Granger! How do you make a pillow hurt?" He looked down at his chest and frowned fiercely as she laughed.
"Don't be so dramatic."
"I think I bruised." He pouted at her.
She rolled her eyes at him again. "You are such a big baby."
Draco rolled around, straddling Hermione. "A big baby? I'll show you who's a big baby." He then started tickling her, causing her to shriek and laugh at the same time.
Draco joined in on the laughter and all Hermione wished at that point was that nothing in the world would take away that light from him.
But all of this felt like the calm before the storm for her.
Both Hermione and Draco were reading their own books in the Room of Requirement, their tutoring session just having gotten over.
"Do you know anything about memory charms?" She questioned, flipping through one of her books.
Draco hummed. "They remove memories, obviously."
Hermione glared at him. "Can the spell be reversed?"
Draco looked up from his book and glanced at Hermione with a frown. "I'm not sure. I guess it depends on how much has been removed and for how long. Why? Are you planning to take away someone's memories?" He teased with wiggling brows.
Hermione remained silent and didn't make any eye contact with him. Draco moved closer to her and grabbed her chin with his hand. "Hermione? Are you planning on obliviating someone?"
When Hermione started crying, he instantly pulled her into him for a hug. "It's not me, is it? Because I'll warn you now, I love you too much to forget a single moment between us."
She glanced up at him with teary eyes. "You love me?" She questioned softly.
Draco bent his head down and kissed her softly. "How have you not figured it out?"
She wiped her eyes and sat up, looking straight at him. "I'm planning on obliviating my parents."
Draco clenched his jaw. "When?"
Hermione shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe next summer, or the Christmas break next year. Whenever it starts to feel like the war is coming and it won't be safe for them, even in the muggle world."
Draco sighed. "The war is already here."
Hermione nodded. "I don't know what is going to happen, but I don't want to rush it."
"What if something happened to Dumbledore?" Draco questioned, his gaze fixed on the fireplace behind her.
Hermione scoffed. "Dumbledore is too smart to let anything happen to him at this point. He knows we need him, Harry needs him."
Draco just nodded. "It's not fair. Your parents have nothing to do with this. Why are they made to suffer? Why do you have to be one to lose your parents?"
Hermione shrugged sadly and just hugged Draco. He held her tighter than ever and she could hear him saying sorry, repeatedly. Hermione did not have enough strength to figure out why he would be sorry.
A few days later, Hermione found herself at the Great Hall eating breakfast with her fellow Gryffindors. She heard some discussion regarding an article in the Dail Prophet but she didn't pay any mind to it. As far as she remembered, there hadn't been any major headlines around this time.
She quickly finished eating and made her way out of the hall, making her way to her first class of the day.
"Granger!" Hermione paused as she heard someone calling out for her. She turned around to find Theodore Nott rushing towards her. "Granger, I need you to come with me quickly."
He grabbed onto her hand and dragged her through the corridors. "What's wrong Nott? What's happening?"
"It's Draco. He needs you. It's really bad." Theo breathed out. Hearing this, Hermione also started rushing, following him instead of being dragged.
"What happened to him?" Hermione worried he must've done something to himself or maybe Havoc must've caused something.
Theo stopped, causing Hermione to crash into him. "You don't know?"
"Know what?" Hermione frowned.
Theo let out a deep breath. "Lucius Malfoy was found dead in Azkaban."

Yeah, it's gonna get worse.
I'm not very experienced in writing explicit scenes, so I apologize for all the cringiness.
