"I do not want to be Minister." Amelia said to Dumbledore. Dumbledore had spent the last 15 minutes trying to persuade her to take up the vacant position of Minister of Magic. She was uninterested in politics and the deception and lying that comes with it. She also had to think of her neice who was her only family left, her brother had died in the First war.

"You just need to take the role on an interim basis. If we do not act immediately and secure the position, the Dark Lord is going to impose his own candidate on us. We cannot afford to have a death eater symphatiser as Minister of Magic." Dumbledore responded. It was important to the war efforts that a competent Minster got the job after the demise of Fudge. The Wizengamot had already been planning a vote of no-confidence in Fudge before his death, but now the time-table for hiring a new minister had moved up.

"And who is going to takeover my current job?" Amelia asked. Her current job as Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement was perhaps the most important job in the ministry, particularly after Voldernorts latest attack. The auror office had taken a huge beating in Voldermort's attack against the ministry and needed a lot of rebuilding. Before Fudge's death he had approved the bill granting the aurors new funding and permission to use lethal force against death eaters. A competent head of department was needed to utilize these new resources to get the maximum benefit.

"There must someone you trust to takeover the job from you. I would not insist if the situation was not as dire as it is. I believe there is no one capable of handling this responsibility better than you. If you do not take the job, Voldermort would impose his own candidate on us." Dumbledore said trying to convince Madam bones. He had visited her in her home, The Bones Manor, the day after Voldermort's attack on the ministry. He had been unable to contact his spy in Voldermort ranks since the attack. He was worried that Voldermort might have discovered his spy, which would explain why he got no warning of the attack. He had to start making new plans if that was the case, spies and double agents played very important roles in any war. If Voldermort had personally taken the time to kill Fudge, he definitely had his own man ready to takeover the job as Minister. He would need his spy to keep track of Voldermort plans for the Minister of Magic role so he could counter them.

"I suppose my second in command Rufus Scrimgourge could take over from me." Amelia said.

"Good idea. I have already called an emergency meeting of the Wizengamot for tommorow. We need to act quickly. You should speak to Rufus to inform him of the plan, I'll speak to my supporters in the Wizengamot so your appointment goes through quickly." Dumbledore said as he stood up. He had to meet several of his supporters in the Wizengamot so they could finalize their strategy for the Wizengamot meeting. He was certain Voldermort would also have a plan to get his man into the Minister's seat.

"For the record, I am still not comfortable with being minister. Once the war is over I will be resigning." Amelia said.

"I understand." Dumbledore replied.

"I must take my leave now. I have several meetings to attend to to ensure the Wizengamot meeting goes as planned." Dumbledore said as he started to make his way out. If they were to have any hope of winning, they war need to fight not only on the battle ground but also in the political arena.

The sun was high in the sky when Harry woke up. The rays of it's light shone in through the open window above his bed. He looked around drowsily trying to identify where he was. There was a monitor connected to his arm beeping softly to the sound of his heart beat. The door opened and a woman dressed in blue scrubs walked in.

"Glad to see you are awake Mr Potter, you gave Professor Morgan quite the scare. I am Healer Yates" She said as she approached Harry's bed.

"What happened to me?" Harry asked as he sat up in the bed. He was still trying to recollect the events that led to him being in the infirmary.

"You fainted. Professor Morgan brought you here unconscious last night." She said.

"I think i remember now." Harry said. He remembered meeting Professor Morgan in her office to examine his scar, going to the ritual pits for a diagnostic ritual to examine his scar. He couldn't remember anything from after the ritual started.

"I have sent for Professor Morgan. Before she comes we have a few things to discuss." Healer Yates said.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked, noting the look of concern on the Healers face.

"While you were unconscious, I took the the time to do a complete examination. This should have been done immediately you enrolled." She said

"Is there something wrong with me?"

"I have some concerns. I noticed you have some fractures in your arms and legs that never healed properly. Also I noticed some signs of malnutrition, which explains why you are so small for your age." Healer Yates said. Harry looked down with his hands folded in his laps, he was very uncomfortable discussing his living situation at the Dursleys. He had sustained a number of injuries from trying to escape Dudley during "Harry hunting". Also feeding on the scraps and leftovers from the Dursleys was not ideal for a growing child.

"You don't have to talk to me about it. You should know that I have healed the fractures properly and I am putting you on a new diet with nutritional supplements to fix the malnutrition."

"Thanks." Harry replied.

"This contains the details for your new diet, and also the dosage for your nutritional supplements." Healer Yates said handing him a parchment and a small bag containing the potion supplements from her pocket. Harry took the parchment and bag from her and scanned through the content.

Knock knock. There was a knock on the door interrupting the discussion between Healer and patient.

"That must be Professor Morgan." Healer Yates said as she walked to the door and opened it.

"Good to see you are awake." Professor Morgan said as she entered the room.

"I must be on my way, I have other patients to attend to. Harry, you are free to leave once you are through with your discussions." Healer Yates said as she left the room and losed the door behind her.

"How are you feeling now? You fainted after the ritual last night."

"I am much better, thanks." Harry replied

"What do you remember from the ritual." Professor Morgan asked as she took a seat on the chair beside Harry's bed.

"I remember doing the ritual, then something came out of my scar, like a shadow." Harry said as he tried to recollect the events of the past night.

"The shadow was a representation of what resides in your scar. This is what has been causing your visions and headaches."

"What is it?" Harry asked eagerly.

"What do you know about Horcruxes?"

"Nothing. I have never heard the word before." Harry replied.

"I would be surprised if you knew anything about Horcruxes, they are some of the darkest magic ever created. Infact they are one of the few topics not taught at Emry's" Professor Morgan said.

"Horcruxes are peices of a Wizard's soul. A dark wizard splits their soul and place a part of it into a container so even if their physical body is killed they cannot pass on because they still have a part of their soul on this plane."

"So Voldermort soul is in me?" Harry asked. He couldn't believe he had been walking around all these years with a peice of Voldermort in his skull.

"Yes, there has never been a recorded case of a human horcrux so your situation is unique."

"Can the horcrux possess me or control me?"

"No, the piece in you in a very small piece and doesn't seem to have any influence on you excluding the visions and occasionally headaches."

"You seem to be taking this news well. I expected you would have a panic attack when I told you about the horcrux" Professor Morgan said.

The events of his life since he came to Hogwarts had taught Harry to take things in stride. From seeing the Dark Lord on the back of his Professor's head at age 11 and killing said Professor by touching him, to slaying giant basilisks with a Legendary sword, Harry's life was a roller coaster of weird events. He was sort of fate's play thing. After getting entered into the Tri-Wizard tournament against his will, he had learnt that anything that could possibly go wrong in his life would likely go wrong.

He replied "My life has always a rollercoaster of weird and strange occurences, I am used to it now." Professor Morgan felt pity for the young student who had already gone through a lot in his life and it was unlikely to end anytime soon.

"I believe I have an answer for why you survived the killing curse." Professor Morgan said.

"Dumbledore said it was my mothers love that protected me."

"You are not the first child whose mother died to protect him." She said with a pause. "I believe your mother performed a ritual on you, a very rare, powerful and obscure ritual. Knowledge of this ritual only exists in a few ancient tomes, she must have found a tome containing this ritual in your family library. After all The Potter family are one of the most ancient families on the British Isles."

"What ritual is it?" Harry asked. Perhaps if there was a ritual that could be used to protect against the killing curse, he could protect his friends with it.

"She invoked the power of the gods. The knowledge of how to do this has been lost to time."

"How do you know she invoked the power of the gods?" Harry asked

"Your scar is the clue. Since the killing curse leaves no scar on it's victim it stands to reason that you must have gotten the scar from another source. The lightning bolt is a peculiar shape for a scar which means you didn't get the scar by falling down the staurs or some random accident. Your mother carved the scar on your head herself." Professor Morgan explained. Harry traced the scar with his finger as he thought about Professor Morgan's explanation. It was a very logical explanation and it made a lot of sense.

"Do gods even exist. I thought they were just myths." Harry asked.

"Every myth has a basis in reality. Thousands of years ago, they were worshipped and their powers were felt among men. Since knowledge of their existence and powers have become scarse with time, their influence on this plane is very minimal. In fact they hardly ever interfere in our affairs." She explained.

"What god did she call on?" Harry asked.

"Zeus of course. The sender of thunder and lightning, rain, and winds. The father of both gods and men. She carved his mark on your forehead and did the ritual to call on him just before Voldermort broke into your room. It must have been a last ditch effort to save your life, the last recorded time a ritual to call on the gods actually worked was about 1000 years ago."

"So why did it work this time?"

"I have no idea. The ways of the gods are a mystery to us."

Harry sat in thought with his head in his hands. Now that he had gotten the answers he had spent his whole life, he didn't know how to feel about it all. He had always been told that his mother's love was the reason for his survival. Dumbledore had called it the 'power of love'. Now, he knew she was responsible for his survival, but not in the way he had believed. Although he had gotten a lot of answers today, it seemed for every answer he got, a new question arose.

"I believe fate has special plans for you, the first person blessed by the gods in a thousand years. I expect great things from you." Professor Morgan said.

"What does it mean to be blessed by the gods? Is there anything specific I should know about." Harry asked. Everyone expected great things from him, right from when he got his wand from Ollivander. At the moment he didn't feel like a great wizard.

"There are a few books in the library that talks about what it means. You should check for The Blessed Ones by Ivan Tarkovski. It goes into details about what it means to be blessed by the gods with a lot of first hand accounts."

"Thanks. What about the Horcrux, how do we remove it?" Harry asked. Removing the horcrux from his head was the most pressing issue for him now. He couldn't continue going around with a piece of Voldermort's soul in his head.

"Since your case is unique we cannot use any of the means of removing horcruxes from inanimate objects, we would have to create a special ritual to remove it without killing you. Professor Wagner and I would work on creating the ritual and gathering the materials for the ritual. For now just focus on your learning and we would let you know once the preparations are complete."

"Thanks."

"I must be on my way now, I have a class to teach soon. You can take the rest of the day off and resume your lessons tomorrow." Professor Morgan said before leaving the Infirmary.

Harry sat for a few minutes in thought after Professor Morgan left the room. In just a week at Emry's, his life seemed to have already been changed forever. Finding out that he was blessed by a god was huge information. Perhaps this was 'the power he knows not' the prophesy referred to. It was a more reasonable and likely possibility than 'the power of love' Dumbledore suggested, like he was supposed to hug Voldermort to death. Coming to Emry's was already looking like a good decision and positive step in this growth. He decided that he would make the most of the chances and opportunities here. As he left the Infirmary Harry decided to stop at the library and pick up the book Professor Morgan suggested. He had a lot of learning to do, he may have found the power the prophesy referred to but he would need to learn how to use this power and the manage the responsibilities that came with it.
