Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex!

This is what was written on the front page of the manual Darren placed on the coffee table in front of Saphira. This was the whole introductory manual, and it was HUGE! She has not expected she would need to read so much. There was a smaller book on the side about employee benefits, but Darren insisted she would need to read the manual while she was working. She had to read the pages regarding the business liability policy first, and she had to admit, she was not all impressed. It seems this place releases it's liability once people leave after signing disclaimers when they leave. Most people probably don't know it releases the place of it, but it does. But this is due to the main reason that if someone is injured, a bot takes them to the first aid and patches them up and cleans any spills, so their liability stops there.

"Darren, you really don't think this whole liability policy is weird?" Saphira looked up from the manual with a curious frown. Darren was sipping his own coffee while looking at an ipad he had pulled out from his jacket. He looked up at Saphira when she spoke to him. "I know of no other place that has this."

"It is, we all admit it." He shrugged as this was rather casual for him, but she was shocked he thought it was weird and nothing was done about it. "However, given the reputation about the place and the controversy, I think it is a good approach. I can't blame Mr Miller for putting something like this in place." He smirks slightly at her. "But don't worry, it is totally legal. We have had people come back with lawyers and they have failed."

"Oh."

Saphira's mouth was shaped into a O as she did not believe this was legal. However, if it was, then there was really nothing that could be done about it. Her eyes look back at the manual to finish reading the liability chapter. She was not surprised that guests would be held accountable for damage to animatronics and bots around the facility, given it must be expensive to maintain them.

"When you are finished with the chapter, you can sign this." Darren placed a piece of paper on the coffee table. "It's just a disclaimer that you agree to adhere to all our policies, that is all. Otherwise, you will be asked to leave. I doubt you will want to do that." He placed a pen to lay across the paper while Saphira peaked over the top of the manual to glance at it. "Don't worry, the policy for employees is pretty good."

"Yeah I see. The only thing you don't cover though is death…have people died here?" Saphira was not sure how comfortable she was about the rules here, they were strange and yet legal, so she did not know if she should stay in this place for very long.

"No one has died." He adjusted his tie and sat up slightly in his seat, looking at Saphira kindly. "The only reason why we don't cover death as it is pretty expensive. And as no one has died, or the potential to die…it was decided not to have it. I know that sounds weird…but…" He shrugs again with a smile. "I hope you don't read into it all too much."

Saphira did not respond. She wanted to finish reading the chapter. She jumped when she heard a knock on the staff room door as there was metal clanging on the door. Darren stood up and walked over to open it, a staff bot holding a neat, tightly folded uniform hands the clothes over to him and rolled away. Saphira breathed deeply as she wondered if she will get over the fear of the bots, but she looked at the clothes curiously.

"Alright, so this is your uniform." Darren placed the uniform down and unfolds the shirt. It was a white, long sleeve shirt with a Fazbear logo on the left side of the shirt and 'security' written on the right side. "This is pretty much to help you stand out among the staff really. It is light and comfortable as the pizzaplex always has the air conditioner running, and the temperature is the same year-round." Saphira smiled as it looked pretty nice. The next was a pair of black pants, she luckily had others and finally, a flashlight. "This all your uniform. You can also choose to wear a security staff cap if you would like, but this is the standard. Plus, enclosed shoes of course, but I see you are already wearing that."

Saphira smiled at him. "That looks really nice." She glanced towards the bathroom and stood up. "Shall I try it on now? Oh! I realized I never told you my size…hopefully it will fit."

Darren chuckled softly. "Yeah, well, I forgot. Sorry. But it looks about your size anyway." She chuckled back at him and picked up the clothes. "Anyway, if it fits, I think your security office will be cleaned, so we can go there to check it out. After that, we should head to Parts and Service so you can meet the technicians. At this time of night, people usually start to leave, it is a Monday night after all."

Saphira hoped her office was cleaned out, the last thing she needed was to smell cigarette smoke every night. She opened the door of the bathroom and saw the pale blue tiles. There was an unpleasant odor in here, but it was not overwhelming. She scrunched up her nose and was careful of where she placed her bag and new uniform. She locked the door and undressed to put on the uniform. She was pleased that the pants fit fine, it was a little stretchy, but it was not loose enough to slip off her hips. She tried on the shirt next. It was not too bad, it was a little form fitting which was nice. She was glad she was wearing a white bra, she did not know how transparent the shirt was and she was not confident enough to try. She fixed up her hair and looked at herself in the mirror, smiling at herself as she looked rather good in this uniform. She gathered her other clothes and stepped out of the bathroom.

"It fits." Saphira smiled and stretched out her arms slightly. "How do I look?"

"Like a security guard." Darren finished the rest of his coffee and stood up. "Alright, I got confirmation that the bots were done. They work very fast so I hope that it is done properly."

Saphira was impressed by that. She finished her own coffee and took it to the sink, she rinsed the cup and placed it on the drainer. She followed Darren out of the office to head back the way they came, luckily it was not too difficult and he was happy to not need to lead her. Saphira still was not a fan of the hallway, it was well lit, but it still held some eeriness to it and she did not like it. She reached the door leading into the atrium and her eyes grimace slightly to the bright neon lights. Once adjusted, her eyes glanced to the other side of the atrium to get the direction of the security office correct. She began to walk in the direction, humming a little and glancing around. She noticed a lot of people were still eating and having a good time.

"Hmm." Saphira glanced over her shoulder when she heard Darren. "You impress me."

"What do mean?" She did not do anything to impress him, she knew that for a fact. She glanced up at stairs leading up to the slight raised floor of the atrium. "I don't think I've done anything impressive."

"Maybe, but you are walking towards the office without me leading you." Darren smiled at her before he grimaced at some memories he has had of previous employees. "And let me tell you, I have dealt with so many people who have applied here. And they do not even get their way around for a whole week! It gets a little annoying when they reach me on the Fazwatch…ooohhh, did I give you one?" Saphira shakes her head. "Damnit! I really am forgetting things tonight. Uhh, when you get to the office, get yourself comfortable and I will be back."

Saphira blinked as Darren scurried away from her and she could not help but chuckle a little. She glanced around again and saw the blue door past some of the fake gardens. She did feel a little awkward being left alone since she was meant to be shown around. But when she opened the door, she was met with the pleasant smell of rose and coconut, she smiled and everything seemed to be very clean. She looked around the lit room, it had blue walls with several filing cabinets, a private bathroom, coffee machine, microwave, mini fridge and a very comfortable chair set in front multiple monitors. Saphira saw there were no lockers, but she guessed because she did not need one. She placed her bag underneath the desk and her clothes on an empty shelf. She took a seat and placed the manual down, but she did not open it as it did not have details of how to operate the system. Looking around, there were a few set of controls. While she had multiple monitors on the wall, there was several main monitors in front of her. She pressed a few buttons to figure out which ones she could use to switch between them and move the cameras. She nodded to herself once she figured that out, there were a few options here such as locking down areas and also activating safety protocols and alarm systems. She did not press too many more buttons as she wanted to have Darren either show her, or give her something to understand the system to work here properly. There was a computer separate from the monitors, but that was where she would have to write a report at the end of the week. She did not pay much attention to the monitors for the time being as she was not supposed to be on duty for another hour, so she took the time to get familiar. She glanced at the door for a moment and frowned a little when there was something on the side of the door. It looked a bit like one of those Monster Inc canisters that fill with children's screams, except it had a large screen that was bright blue and had lines showing it had a percentage to it. Saphira opened her manual and looked at the index to find where it would explain this. She flipped the pages and read the chapter regarding locking the doors, even though it seemed unnecessary, it seemed like there could be a reason for it. Saphira hoped it was not because of the animatronics or the bots, because that would absolutely terrify her.

And then she heard a knock on her door. "Ah!" Saphira nearly knocked the manual off the desk and she placed a hand on her chest as she caught her breath.

"Are you okay Saphira?" Came Darren's concerned voice. "Got your Fazwatch and security access card, I'm not some stranger."

"Yes, sorry, I was reading the manual," Saphira responded loudly. "Come in."

Darren opened the door and stepped inside, he sniffed a little when he caught the scent of rose and coconut. "Hmm, they did a good job. Alright…" He held out his hand holding a lanyard with a badge on it and the other with a black band with a bear-shaped watch. "Here is your Fazwatch and badge. The security badge will let you enter anywhere in the building. Not everyone has that level, but security and managers do."

"Thanks." Saphira took them and placed the lanyard over her neck and looked at the Fazwatch. "Hmm…this is cool." She placed it over her wrist, making sure it was tight enough to not slip off and looked at the screen. "What can you do with this?"

"It allows you to communicate directly with me, the animatronics and the bots. It also is connected to the security camera system and map, all of this is handy to have for the security staff." The way Darren was speaking about the Fazwatch was with pride. She did not blame him, she was pretty impressed. But, being able to communicate directly with the animatronics, that meant they could speak to her. "Not everyone has those features, so you are one of the lucky few."

"Thanks so much." Saphira smiled as she pressed the buttons on the Fazwatch to quickly check it out before gazing at the monitors. "Could you show me how to use all this properly? I was able to figure out a little bit of it, but every security system is different. I don't want to accidentally cause an evacuation to the entire building."

Darren smiled at her and walked over, opening a drawer of the desk and placing another manual. It was small and it was the monitor system manual. "I would love to show you Saphira, but we don't have much time right now before you are on your own. We should go down to Parts and Service."

Saphira was annoyed, but she did not question him. She stood up to follow him out of the room and she saw Darren was heading to the main stage. She hopes there would be an easier way to get down here, but she doubted it. She saw a few of the guests looking at them as they walk to the stage, they probably thought Freddy and his friends would be coming on stage, but that would not be the case of course. Once they were on the stage, Saphira glanced at a stand at the front of the stage with a Freddy head shaped button on it. She figured it would take them down and walked over to press it. She gasped when the lift loudly began to descend.

"Good job. You will get to meet Cliff while we are here as well. There is also Marian, Jack, Mason, Daisy and Dave." Saphira looked at him when he mentioned Dave. Laina warned her about him, though there could be another Dave in the building. "Watch for Dave though, he's a bit of a lady's man. I know you told me the reason for leaving your previous job was because of that…but Roxy is pretty good at keeping him in check. Monty too sometimes when he is in the mood. So ask them to deal with him if you need to." She was definitely surprised the animatronics would help to deal with the harrassment, she definitely did not know if she would. "Anyway, you will get to learn a little bit of basic maintenance on the animatronics too."

"Huh? But that isn't part of my job," Saphira said with a frown. "I know that is my qualification…buuuut, I…I don't know." She glanced at the wall as the lift continued going down and with a loud thud, it reached the bottom. "Woah! That was loud!"

"Generally, in most places, it is not." Darren walked towards a ramp leading to a large doorway. The roller door was open currently and there was another hallway leading to the main one heading towards Parts and Service. "However, it is here. Just the basic stuff honestly. We are not going to ask you to fix major issues in the animatronics, that would be just silly. But it is part of the night guard's duty."

Saphira worried about that. "Will I learn that tonight?" There was so much to learn! And she did not like it, but she would try to make the most of it as best as she could. "I can't believe how much I am going to learn."

"I believe Bonnie or Roxy needs maintenance tonight, so you probably will. But that depends on what Cliff thinks." Darren shrugs as they walk and gestured down the hallway leading away from the main one. "That leads down into the endoskeleton area. You might be a bit creeped out down there, I personally hate the endoskeletons. But that is where the technicians will be mostly when they are not in Parts and Service."

If Darren hated the endoskeletons, Saphira definitely would hate them too. She glanced at the red doors ahead and something else caught her eye. She looked at a large, round, red cylinder with a bright, blue lightning bolt on the fromt. It had a round glass window and she saw it was connected to the grid.

"Oh, that's just a recharge station for the animatronics. They need to be recharged hourly, and that is just a fast, simple way to do it." He smiled as he opened the door while waving his hand casually towards the recharge station. "They all have one in their room. The only one that doesn't need it as much is the daycare attendant, and Music Man doesn't need one either. He's too big."

That seemed like a flaw to Saphira. The animatronics recharging hourly once the facility closes made more sense than all the time. "I hope that can be changed. I think it would be better for them to only need a recharge after close." She was a bit surprised when she walked through the door to see another space between the walls. "Oh, seems like you need an extra barrier…weird."

"Sometimes when new endos are brought up here, they can be a bit…well, they can bit a bit quirky." Quirky? Saphira did not like the sound of that. She heard voices coming from the other room. "Alright, welcome to Parts and Service." He pushed open the next set of double doors into a large room.

Saphira looked around curiously, in the middle was a large cylinder with massive pipes connected to it. Inside was a huge chair that was not meant for people with a lot of equipment inside. There was a monitor sitting right outside the door and she glanced around, she gasped when she saw cages to the left and inside them were endoskeletons.

"Ooh…nah, that is creepy," Saphira comments she saw them, but she front as it looked like they were hanging from a hook with their limbs and faces facing down. "And that looks uncomfortable."

"It would be if they were human, but they are deactivated. They are perfectly safe." Saphira looked for the owner of the voice who spoke up and saw a young, dark skinned man approaching wearing a white coat. "Hello Saphira Dawn, I am Cliffton. I am the manager here for the technicians, IT and overseer of any new attractions and attraction maintenance. It is a pleasure to meet you." He extends his hand and Saphira takes it, she was a little alarmed as his hand was quite bigger than hers as he was a lot taller than herself and Darren. "I hope the tour of the place briefly has been fruitful."

"Yeah, it…it's very overwhelming." Saphira looked to the right and noticed smaller room that looked like testing facilities. That seemed strange, for a place with robots. "This place is quite interesting…" She glanced ahead to see two stairs leading up to a floor with six doors with the symbols of each animatronic on it. "Impressive. I don't know how the owner manages to afford this place."

"Pretty simple, ensure people spend lots of money on food, merchandise, drink and the arcade machines. That is how this place gets by really, most people spend hundreds of dollars here a day." That much?! Saphira's eyes widen when she heard that from Cliff. "Oh yeah, they really do. Plus, the added things people can pay for regarding the animatronics. The attractions themselves don't make as much as those things do, but they're just the cherry on the top. We do very well."

"Ooh, I did not know the new lady joining us would be such a cutie." Cliffton groaned loudly and grimaced as he heard that voice. Saphira glanced passed the man to see a middle-aged man with brown hair pulled back into a pony tail, he had some scars on his cheeks that suggested he had stitches in the past and his hazel eyes were quick to check Saphira out. "The name's Dave honey, I am pleased…"

"Dave!" Cliffton stuck his arm out to stop the man from getting closer to Saphira. "Be polite! We have told you so many times to stop! I need you to go find Jack and Mason in the endo tunnels please? It is time for them to go on their break."

Dave grumbled and rolled his eyes. "Do I have to? I want to stay." He glanced at Saphira and winked at her, she grimaced and glared at him. "Ooh, another hard to get player huh?"

"Wow you're disgusting," Saphira commented while scrunching her nose. "And a horrid stench too."

The man's face changed to anger and glared at Saphira. "Oh yeah? You'll warm up to me. They all do."

"Like the time Marian and Daisy dumped a bucket of old oil all over you?" Cliff asked with a smirk, causing Dave to falter in composure. "Oh yeah, that is what you mean by them warming up to you isn't it? Well, you better be careful. I hear Saphira does not take any bullshit, you might find yourself in the same position again. So please…be nice."

"I am being nice! The bitches just don't like it!" Dave snapped in annoyance.

"Dave! Just do as your told!" Darren ordered sternly with a stern expression.

The man grumbled as he stormed out of the room to get the other technicians. "Uhh…can I ask the obvious question?" Saphira asked, glancing between Darren and Cliff. "Why is he working here? I mean, he obviously causes a lot of trouble."

"Until we can find somebody to replace him, we are stuck with him," Cliff responded and sighed deeply. "He's actually very good at his job. He's just terrible to the women. But, he's actually a pussy once you can corner him. I apologize deeply for his behaviour." He turned his head towards two women who were standing at a table with a light on, they were focused on what they were doing. "Daisy, Marian! Come and meet Saphira."

The red-haired girl looked up and met Saphira's eyes. Saphira was stunned to see one of her eyes were blue and the other was hazel. She smiled as she straightened herself and walked over. "Nice to meet you, I am Daisy." She extended her hand towards the woman behind her who looked to be in her early fourties with tan skin, golden brown hair and brown eyes. "This is Marian."

"Hello Saphira. It is nice to have another soldier here to deal with Dave's stupid antics." Saphira chuckled at her gently. "In all seriousness, if he causes trouble, leave him to us. We deal with him every single day. He tries to avoid us a lot of the time now after covering him in oil six months ago."

"Well, at least I know he can be dealt with." Saphira chuckled softly. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I hope we all get along."

"Oh we will." Marian turned her head slightly to look at Cliff. "Should we give this young lady training on the basics of animatronic maintenance? Bonnie will be called here in two hours when the bowling alley is closed for the night."

"Yes, it is company policy after all." Cliffton noticed Saphira's eyes widen and her body tense, he quickly realized she was afraid of the animatronics. "You'll be fine Saphira. Bonnie is a nice guy, he might be big and strong, but he's a real softie."

Saphira did not know if she should believe him or not. Especially since they were talking about him like he was a normal person. "I…I will make that judgement when I meet him."

"Very well. Anyway, we should let you start your job Saphira. We will call you on your Fazwatch when we need you." Cliff turned away from Saphira to walk over to the table. "And I hope your schematics for Monty's new claws are finished. He's having so much trouble with the bass right now."

"Oh, yes they are!" Daisy said enthusiastically, scurrying back over to the table to show him.

"Alright, let us go back. You probably will meet the main cast when you get to train with Bonnie." Darren turned to go back the way they came. "And since we have time, how does something sweet from the Bakery sound?"

Saphira smiled suddenly when she was asked the question. "As long as it is something with chocolate, I am all in."

Darren gave her thumbs up and she practically skipped back towards the lift to go up to the atrium. He was happy with her as an employee already, and she did not even know it yet. She might be afraid of the animatronics, but he was sure she would fit in just fine. Saphira on the other hand, was looking forward to something sweet. She did not know if it would be complimentary, but she would find out that it would be and she definitely loved satisfying her sweettooth. Once she had her snack, Darren walked with her back to the office and gave her a quick overview of the monitor system, which Saphira was happy with since he did not seem like he would earlier. After that, she was left on her own and she made herself another coffee while looking at the cameras.
