Saphira rubbed her cheek as she sat at her desk in the office. It was itching due to being so fresh and from the ointment she had applied before putting a bandaid over the scratches. She was not thrilled about having scratches on her face, she hoped it would not scar too badly. She knew the animatronics won't be too happy to see Saphira injured either, even if it was not a serious injury. She had no idea how they react if she is sick and working at the same time. She couldn't really afford sick days anyway, so that was going to be fun when she did become sick. She finished her coffee and she sat in her chair, she was glad to be calm now because she was not so calm before. It was eleven thirty now, so there was a short time before the facility closes. Saphira did make another walk around earlier and the place was pretty much deserted. So she did not feel like going for another walk.

"Hey Saphira, how soon can you get down to Parts and Service?" Cliff's voice asked through the Fazwatch. "I know we are thirty minutes until close, but from what I can tell, the place is empty so I thought we could make a start on the maintenance."

"You said it yourself, me being a security guard is my first and foremost job here," Saphira responded casually. "I need to make sure there is no one, even if the place seems empty. It is a big building, and you never know where someone might be hiding here. Besides, thirty minutes will go by quickly. If you want to start on Foxy or Chica, you can do that."

Cliff was silent for a moment, not really happy she used his words against him, even though she was right too. "Very well…Foxy is here anyway. He's complaining about his hook playing up, so we will get started on him. Chica and Freddy are still in their rooms."

His hook was playing up again? That meant the wire must have slipped out, or something is causing it to. Luckily Foxy has not told the technicians what she did for him the previous shift, she at least could count on him for keeping something a secret. He was a nice animatronic, even if she has not had a lot of interactions with the bot at this point.

"I suppose that is more important, cause his hook is dangerous if not working properly. Though I am sure Foxy made sure not to make it obvious." She scrolled through the cameras casually and stopped when she noticed one of the cleaner bots was twitching. It was holding a mop and its arms and head was twitching like a seizure. "Ooh…before you do that…there is a cleaner bot in the lobby that is twitching. It looks like…" Saphira paused when she saw the bot suddenly fall backwards. "It fell over."

"Damn! Okay, I am sending Marian and Jack to retrieve it. Thanks Saphira, we would not have noticed until later honestly. I guess being security is more than just looking for other people." Saphira hears Cliff yell something to one of the technicians and she smiled, she was glad that he sees it was important for her to remain in the office for the last thirty minutes of the pizzaplex being open. "Alright, I will see you soon. I heard you had a scuffle with a woman tonight too. I hope it was not too bad."

"It wasn't. Just a Karen being a Karen." Cliff laughed gently at Saphira's casual remark about the woman. "You'll see it when I get done to Parts and Service…I hope the animatronics don't get too upset. Even though it isn't like I broke a bone or anything."

"Ah, that explains why Darren told me he had to stay back to write an incident report an hour ago…well, as long as it heals quickly right? And don't worry about the animatronics. They will probably treat you with extra care, even though you really are not seriously injured."

Saphira believed Cliff. She was slowly removing the idea that these were just mere robots, so them being more careful would not surprise her. But, she still did not know how they would react anyway. She did not doubt they have seen people attacking other people, it would not be uncommon in a place like this. But when it is done to someone they know and care for, that might be different.

"I suppose I will see how they react. Although…I think Roxy will get a kick out of hearing how I pushed the woman to the floor, so I don't it will be all bad." Saphira saw Jack and Marian get off the lift in the atrium to head to the lobby to retrieve the bot. She did not really know what would happen to it though. "Monty might too…but we are kind of off to a rocky start."

"I would not be surprised. He has never been the same spunky gator since the incident. I've often considering putting his casing on a new endo honestly." He can't be serious? Saphira would not think that is a good idea given how much Monty means to Bonnie and everyone. Just because he was more cautious about who he trusts now, didn't mean he was bad. "The only thing that has made him happier is being given new claws to play his guitar better and perform solo shows. And Bonnie of course, but he's been a very angry boy."

"I don't blame him, and I don't think it is worse scrapping him because of that. He's a nice bot, he just…he just needs to relearn how to trust people again. I don't expect it to be an overnight success thing. And a new endo is not going to erase the past. If anything, that new endo will find out all about the old Monty and he might very well turn out the same anyway. So probably not worth it."

"I am surprised you are defending him when he's the one you're more scared of. Well…that says a lot about your heart I suppose. I won't speak more on this, I need to go and get started on the maintenance on Foxy."

Cliff cuts the connection and Saphira sighed deeply. She hoped he would never go through with swapping Monty's endo, that would be devastating in a way. She didn't realize that she was considering Monty to be his own person right now, and while he has been angry towards her, it was not a personal thing. It was a fear thing. Monty was afraid. She hoped they could become friends at some point.

Saphira looked at the monitors watching Marian and Jack curiously as they enter the lobby and go down the stairs to the front of the lobby. They approach the downed bot and it turned its head, giving off an alarm and pointing at them. She was surprised that the bot confused the technicians for a threat as she looked at her watch when she received the alarm. She shakes her head and watched Jack lean down and deactivate the bot. That was safer for them to do that than to do anything while it malfunctioned. They picked up the bot and checked it over quickly before they nod at each and carried it towards the utility tunnels. Saphira had not yet been down there, it was too dark and she was not a fan of dark spaces. But, there were cameras in the utility tunnels so Saphira could watch them carry the bot through the tunnels. There were bots down there too, most were security bots rolling around so that was not a bother. She watched as the technicians walk through the tunnels and make a turn towards one of the garbage shoots. She was shocked, those parts could be salvaged for other bots, and she watched these two carry this bot and throw it into the shoot, sending it down. She had no idea how much garbage was underneath the facility, but it made her shudder to think how many bots were thrown down there. And if there were any endos down there too, that would be freaky. She was disappointed that they just tossed the bot instead of finding out the issue to fix it. She saw another bot entering the lobby to replace the cleaning bot that had been tossed and it was like nothing happened. How wasteful!

If she was the technician manager, that would not happen at all. She thought about making herself another coffee, but she had fifteen minutes to go, and considered going for another walk. But there has been no sign of any human life other than the staff in the building for over an hour now, so Saphira was confident there was no one hiding. Though she knew there was always the possibility of someone hiding in some corner that she could not see, but for the moment it was all good. But there was still time for coffee, so she made herself a caramel latte and considered reaching out to Freddy to talk to him. But she saw him making his way to Parts and Service on the camera, Chica had just gone there and she hoped he would not be upset she was not yet there. She sipped her coffee happily and hummed a random song to herself to pass the time while looking through the cameras casually. She did watch the cameras in the Parts and Service, she could see Freddy looking around and he was asking where she was, he was unhappy that was for sure. But she would still be coming down soon, and he glanced at the camera with a sad expression, she did not know what he was told but she knew he would light up once he sees her.

The time passes quickly and Saphira gulped the last of the coffee down and wiped her lips clean of any coffee remnant and stood up as the time clicks over to 12am. She walked out of the office over to the lift to make her way down to Parts and Service. She had expected Freddy to speak to her, but perhaps he was waiting to see her in person. She knew Cliff was still working on Foxy right now anyway, so he could not really speak with her while he was working. Daisy was in the Protective Cylinder with him helping so he did not need an extra pair of hands. Saphira waited patiently for the lift to reach the bottom and she did not lose balance this time when it jolted when it came to a stop. She stepped off the ramp and walked towards Parts and Service, she was a little nervous because she worried about messing up tonight, but also the animatronics were there. She did not know what she was more afraid though because it both frightened her. Pushing the double doors open, Saphira nearly jumped back when a pair of arms wrap around her and hugged her gently. The smell of pizza on the beak told her who it was.

"I am so glad you made it!" Chica exclaimed joyfully. "Foxy's been in there for a while, looks like whatever is wrong with his hook is bad. But hey! At least you are here!" She giggled and leaned back, she blinked and frowned slightly when she noticed the bandaids on Saphira's cheek. "Oh…you are broken."

Saphira stepped around Chica like she was avoiding something on the floor with a smile. "I know you're enthusiastic Chica, but hugging me like that isn't that great yet." Chica rolled her eyes at her and tilts her head slightly, waiting for an answer about her cheek. "And don't worry about this. It's taken care of."

"How did you receive it?" Freddy asked, he was shocked Chica was able to hug Saphira and the girl had allowed her to do it. A new feeling brewed in him regarding that, he did not know it at first, but it was jealousy he was starting to feel. He wanted to hug her too, and Saphira was still too afraid of him. "Was it that…the woman you referred to as Karen?"

"Yeah, it was. The woman was fighting with another woman over a plush Foxy," Saphira explained with a shrug as she walked towards the cylinder. "She tried to take the toy from me, and her claw-like nails happened to scratch my face. But, well, I put her on the floor until the police arrived. She traumatized her poor kid though."

Freddy shakes his head in disbelief. "I have seen many altercations between people before. It is usually over something like a toy or food, I do not understand it at all. Why do humans fight over such things? Is there really a reason for it?"

"Honestly…it is just the childish behaviour some people have never grown out of," Saphira responded. "I have never been that petty and selfish to fight over something. But, if it is something I have already bought or it is my food, that might be different. Although, they will be the one on the ground, not me."

"So you know self defense?" Mason asked Saphira curiously, she looked over the man who was by the console. He had been listening to everything, she saw he was holding something in his hand. "That's pretty impressive."

"Yes, well, when you're on your own, you have little choice but to learn self defense. Plus, being a security guard, I kind of need to know how to throw a fist or a kick. I am able to break limbs, let's just be honest." She smiled as she was proud of it and took a glance to Dave who seemed uncomfortable about it. "So you better keep your thoughts to yourself. A broken nose is no fun."

"I have no idea what you're talking about little lady," Dave responded with a slight sneer. "Just because you can fight, doesn't mean you can refuse a man like me."

Saphira rolled her eyes and walked up to the glass to peer in. She saw Foxy's right arm casing had been pulled off, along with his hook, and Cliff and Daisy were focused on fixing the issue right now. She glanced at Foxy's face, he was grinding his teeth and grimacing, it seemed whatever they were doing was hurting him or uncomfortable. He spotted Saphira and gave her a quick thumbs up before lowering his hand to grip the armrest. This felt more like surgery than working on robots.

Saphira glanced over to Mason, what he had in his hand a hand-sized, rectangular and had some circular slots in them. "What are you working on Mason? That looks interesting."

"Ohh…uhhh…" Mason hesitated for a moment before he shrugged. "Oh whatever, you'll find out anyway. This is one of the scent receptors we are working on to give to the animatronics. This one will be for Roxy."

"Nice." Saphira walked over to look at it more closely. "I am curious, how are you managing to figure this out? Considering they're animatronics and all."

"Well, we had to study human and animal scent glands in order to replicate something similar for the animatronics. Because we cannot give them a sense of smell without knowing how everyone else smells. Believe me though, it has taken a long time to get here. We only started the project twelve months ago." Oh wow! That has been a long time definitely. "We are closer to implementing the system, but it will take a bit more time to get done."

"I hope I can be apart of implementing it," Saphira said with a smile.

"Uhh…you might be, I am not sure. Cliff wants to wait a bit before confirming that with you. But as we still have a few more things to tweak with these, I would say you will be." Mason glanced at Freddy and Chica who were listening and watching quietly. "Besides, I doubt the animatronics will give us a choice."

"No, we will not," Freddy agreed with a slight chuckle. He turned his head to gaze into the cylinder. "That sure is taking a while. It must have gone beyond general maintenance."

"It has, but it is not serious," Mason explained, glancing down at the receptor while he spoke. "It seems the rotor holding the wiring has gotten loose, which has caused the wires to loosen and they are trying to figure out the reason."

That was weird, Saphira tightened it before she left on her last shift. But it seemed it came loose again from the activity during the day. At least Foxy was not confined to his room like Roxy was. She was sure he would be incredibly sad as well. She hoped the issue could be fixed though.

"What happens if they can't fix it?" Saphira asked curiously.

"Foxy will just be given another hand for the time being because the parts for that don't usually have an issue. I know that seems unnecessary and Foxy hates not having his hook, but it is better than having him out. We are thinking of changing the system of his arm where he can rotate his hook for a hand when needed. I think that's a good idea." Saphira nodded, that did sound like a good idea and once they should do. "We are always looking for ways to improve things, so this is just one of them."

"I approve of it…even if it my word means little."

"Well super star, your word means a lot to us," Freddy said to her gently and Saphira looked at him with a smile. "I think it is a good idea too. I know Foxy would like it as well, sure he likes the hook, but he does struggle a little with his piano despite mastering it with the hook. I hope that gets implemented soon."

"It might. We want to finish with these receptors first before doing that. Don't be impatient Freddy." Mason smirked at the bot as he knew that impatience was not something Freddy ever felt. But that could change at some point too. "Anyhow, the question is, which one of you will be after Foxy?"

"Chica, I believe Saphira is not permitted to help with her right?" The man nodded and looked down at the receptor, not wanting to admit to Freddy outloud that Saphira could not do the general maintenance on Chica due to helping Roxy the night before. "I think it is blatantly unfair. However, I am glad she gets to help with my general maintenance."

"It totally sucks!" Chica agreed, folding her arms and Saphira could swear that the bot was making a pouty face, it was hard to see, but she was seeing their expressions more easily since spending time with them. "I hope tomorrow it will not be the case. Along with the show nights as we all get general maintenance."

"I doubt it. Besides, the only one who probably would say no is Monty." Saphira did not say it in a mean tone, but in a sad tone. She hoped he would let her, but if Monty still distrusted her he would not. She expected it if she was honest. "Anyway…" She looked into the cylinder and thought for a moment. "I wonder if I should do something else while I wait."

"Aww! No, you should stay here!" Chica smiled suddenly as she had an idea. "Oh! Why don't we order pizza? Then you don't have to go anywhere. I bet you're feeling hungry right? That is why you want to go."

"You'll eat the entire thing Chica. And no, we will eat once the job is done. But Saphira can go and get something if she desires, she's not a technician." Mason smiled at Saphira who appreciated his response. "You can bring the food back if you want…if you can manage keeping it away from Chica of course."

"I would never steal her food. I am her friend, that would be mean. Besides, you should stay. I think Foxy appreciates you being here even if you are not helping." Saphira looked through the glass, Foxy was more relaxed now, she noticed that Cliff and Daisy had put a hand on his wrist, it seemed they could not fix the issue with the hook right now. "He's going to be a little sad for a while."

Taking away something that was part of his personality would be hard, even if it was for the safety of the guests. Saphira could not help but feel sad for him and placed a hand on the glass as she thought about him. "I guess you're right. I'll stay. Hopefully you'll have a clean bill Chica."

"I should, I have felt nothing weird so it'll be a simple maintenance job tonight. So that leaves Freddy basically. I don't think he's complained about anything either, but he's the star of the place. So he gets the best of the best." Chica giggled even though she almost made herself jealous Freddy was maintained thoroughly well. "Don't worry, I am not jealous."

"Good, because I make sure I do a good job. You being jealous would be reasonable if I were not here." The bot giggled more and Saphira chuckled along with her. "Besides, I am jealous you can eat a lot of food and never get fat. That is one thing animatronics have over people. That and…eh…no, actually, you don't need to know that one."

"That one what?" Chica asked curiously. "What else do we have over you that you're jealous about?"

Saphira wanted to say that Chica and Roxy never had to worry about periods…but if the animatronics did not know what that is, she did not want to explain it to them while Mason, Dave and Jack were in the room. It would be super awkward, plus she did not want Dave to say something about it to make it super awkward.

"Don't worry about it Chica…it's a personal thing that you don't need to know about." Saphira smiled as she clasps her hands behind her back looked into the cylinder. "Looks like they are almost done too." Foxy was testing out his new hand, he looked upset about it, but it looks like Cliff will work on finding out how to fix his arm for the hook. "Poor Foxy…I hope he can hold a hook in the meantime."

"He will. It doesn't make him feel better though. Hopefully it won't take long to fix anyway. Foxy's often not as playful in Kids Cove when he is in there during the day." Saphira listened to Freddy and understood what he meant. But at least he will get the hook back when they could fix the arm. "He will be dancing and cheering once he gets it back though."

Saphira had to think what she could do to cheer him while waiting. She rubbed her chin while she thought before realizing she was thinking about the feelings of a robot. And she did so casually that she only just realized it now. But…she did not feel stupid for it like she would have normally. She liked Foxy, and she wanted to find a way to help him feel better. But she had to figure that out.

"Hmm…would, uh…are the animatronics allowed to watch movies by any chance?" Saphira asked, looking at Mason who looked up at her in surprise. "I mean, they don't have TVs in their rooms, but surely they could watch a movie."

"Uhh…not sure honestly. Why?" Mason was curious to see what Saphira wanted to say, as did Freddy because no one has ever suggested that before.

"Well I was thinking he might like to watch a pirate movie…Peter Pan maybe…that is if it is allowed. Although, that might be a step too far maybe…"

"It might be, but you can ask Cliff about later. I cannot answer that question for you. It's too strange though." He shakes his head and looked back down at the receptor with a frown.

Saphira did not think it was strange. It would be the only way for them to experience the world if they could watch movies and documentaries. Freddy himself thought it was a good idea. He has seen some things on the TVs around the pizzaplex. It was not a lot. He did know that humans have their own homes beyond the pizzaplex. Freddy has often wondered what Saphira's home was like. Was it like the white homes he's seen on the TV? Did she drive one of those Mercedes he keeps seeing promoted on the TV? And what else did she do? He has tried to envision what he life outside these walls were like because he fascinated her. And he definitely noticed she had a different hairstyle tonight. Everything about her interested him. But he was bothered by the injury to her face. It upset him. He did not know how he would react if he saw someone hurting Saphira, he's never been capable of hurting a human. But…he wasn't sure in regards to Saphira. He wanted to hug her, and seeing Chica hug Saphira so casually hurt and made him envious. He never knew what envy was, but he wished it was him hugging Saphira and not Chica. But…he did know if Saphira allowed Chica to hug her, she was more likely to allow others to hug her too. He could only be patient.
