Day four and it was the day before the Friday show. Saphira was a bit excited as that meant general maintenance. But as it would be for all six animatronics, she would assume the maintenance has already started. Or perhaps, it was already done during the day as well. She was not sure. She had her hair tied back into two ponytails today, she did not know why had decided to do that, but she felt like it. She loved her long hair as she was able to do many different hairstyles. Sure, she was a bit limited given she was working as a security guard, but she wasn't really given what hairstyles she should not have so she would wait to see if there was any by changing her hairstyles for each shift. But with the chance to work on the animatronics, she was mindful because loose hair was often a hazard with working robotic parts. And the animatronics wouldn't have full control over their entire body. Saphira walked through the glass doors of the pizzaplex, smiling as she arrived fifteen minutes early. She glanced around, noting how busy it was. Great, there was bound to be some trouble. She had removed her bandaids from her face as well, so the injury was visible on her face, but it was healing quickly. It just needed to be left alone for now.
"Evening Saphira!" Darren's enthusiastic voice drowned out the rest of the noise and Saphira turned to see him wearing a zebra striped suit. Her eyes nearly hurt when she saw it because it stood out brightly from the crowd. "How are you feeling tonight? That scratch looks a lot better tonight."
"I feel rather good. Thanks Darren. Hopefully…no more incidents tonight." She smiled at him and glanced down at the suit. "You nearly blinded me with that suit on. Do you have other zebra print suits that are not just black and white?"
"Of course I do!" Darren twirled around on the spot enthusiastically. "I love my suits. You suit see my leopard print suits, they just as good." He chuckled loudly and Saphira giggled, his energy regarding the suits he wore was amusing. "Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your report for Dave. He's been given a final warning."
"Oh really? Good, I really can't stand the guy." Saphira hoped that it would not make Dave more rash in his actions towards her. Though she was able to protect herself very well if she needed to. "I suspect he knows I sent the report."
"No, we never tell anyone who is reported about who sent it in. But he probaby will know given you were the only one he harrassed last night. But he may not. We will keep a close eye on him to ensure he doesn't do something stupid." Saphira hoped for that, the last thing she needed was for him to do something to her out of revenge. "Anyway, the animatronics are all down in Parts and Service currently." As expected, Saphira should have known that and yet she felt disappointed. Darren noticed and smiled at her. "Don't worry, you might get to see their rehearsel tonight in the rehearsel room. You can observe how the technicians also keep an eye out for anything they might need to catch before the big show tomorrow night."
"That sounds like fun," Saphira said with a smile. "I look forward to it. And given how busy it is, I think I'll be out on the floor for a bit before twelve."
"I would say you are correct. Let us hope we have no more Karens to deal with tonight." He glanced around at the busy lobby, while it was good and busy, it was a very noisy place. "Oh, and feel free to turn up early tomorrow for the main shows. You don't need to pay to get in for that."
"Thanks, Freddy wanted me to come and see the show. And I don't intend on letting them down."
"I assume he would. He seems to really like you a lot. And it appears you will be here for the long hall, so passing the first week is a big celebration in our eyes." Saphira did not doubt that given how many night guards they go through. "And if you want the weekend off, let us know, we can have one of the day staff do those shifts."
"No thanks, I can't really have days off right now. I need the money to live…unfortunately." As much as having the weekend off sounded great, Saphira couldn't. At least, not right now. "Besides, for the most part, I feel like my work has not been a chore anyway. So…I don't think having the days off will be needed."
"I see…" Darren had not realized Saphira's situation, but she did not seem to be unhappy about that, so he decided to allow it. "Very well. Just let me know if you do need a day off Saphira, I will arrange it for you. We all need a break at some point, even if we do love our job. Now go to your office. The day security are dealing with a few rule breakers in Fazcade, Roxy Raceway and Bonnie Bowling, so you might need to help them soon."
Saphira wondered if the day security did anything during the day, it sounded like they did and that was good. She nodded to Darren and approached the entry barriers to make her way through to lobby. She glanced up at the golden Freddy statue, she felt the need to apologize to Freddy for her reaction to his question the day before. It was not his fault that he did not know it was a sore spot to talk about. She would tell him eventually…but she did not know how he would understand it. After all, he did not know how unkind the world could be outside the walls of the pizzaplex. He has been so kind and patient with her, she has never known that with anyone in her life. If he were human, she could find herself liking him a lot more than a friend. Or could she do that now? She quickly swallowed that thought, although it was surprisingly hard to. She made her way up to the elevators and stopped for a moment when she saw several security members leading people from them to the bottom floor. They glance at her briefly and she gave them a nod before stepping into an elevator to head to the atrium. She danced to the music of the elevator, she wondered if this theme was the music that would be played at the show on Friday and Saturday. Maybe it was, but she quite enjoyed it. She did wonder what lyrics Freddy would be singing though…in fact, she wondered what his singing voice would even sound like. She had no idea. The doors open and she stepped out, she glared at the map bot hanging around the doors, it ignored her tonight even though Saphira was prepared this time. She walked away from the bot quickly to head to the bottom floor and walk over to her office. It was loud in the atrium, Saphira's ears were ringing a little from the noise. There were so many people still eating, the clanging she could hear as people set the utensils down of the plates stung her ears and some of the screaming of the kids was unbearable. Saphira almost ran to her office because it was paradise to her ears once she was inside. Happy with that, she made herself a cinnamon and honey latte and took a seat. She noticed the Freddy plush still on her desk and grabbed it to sit on her lap. There was one thing she also never had in her life, and that was a stuffed toy like this one. It was rather special to her to have something like this even if it was meant for a child. But she knew adults had stuffed toys, so there was nothing wrong about it at all.
And while she was not meant to be checking security now, Saphira could not help but check the cameras anyway to see what was happening. She checked the Parts and Service cameras to find all the animatronics in the room. Monty was currently in the cylinder and she noticed Foxy seemed very happy. His hook was back on his wrist and he was absolutely thrilled about it. At least it did not take that long for the technicians to mend the parts in his arm to have the hook back on safely. And hopefully it would stay. She looked at Freddy, he seemed to be unhappy right now. She wondered if it was because he would want her to do the maintenance on him instead of the other technicians. She assumed she was right about it. Suddenly, he turned his head and his eyes locked onto the camera, he was probably wondering if she was in the building watching them. She could move the camera with the controls to let him know she was here, but it was better she did not. Bonnie placed a hand on Freddy's shoulder to get his attention and he turned away to talk with his friend. Good, at least his friends were keeping him company and making it all worth while. Maybe Freddy will be told she would be there for the rehearsal, although, Saphira did wonder if she should wait until Friday to see the big show. But then, rehearsals were just that with nothing spectacular. So it would be fine in that aspect. She did notice Dave seemed to be angry, the expression on his face was hard and he was not paying much attention to anyone else other than an endo piece he was working on. He was pissed. Saphira made a mental note to keep her distance from him for a while.
Saphira sipped her coffee and checked the time, she had ten minutes to kill at the moment. She did watch with great interest on how the other staff members were dealing with problematic guests, they were not at rough as she was, but they were still stern. At least, that is what it appeared to her. As Saphira has not yet interacted with these staff members, and probably never will, it still interested her in how they conducted themselves. She did not know the number of day staff there were for security, but at least they did not seem to need more than one staff member for the night security at this time. Saphira was not sure how she would feel if another was there, she already had to put up with the technicians.
"Saphira, are you here?" Freddy's voice came through the Fazwatch. "I know you are unable to come down right now…but I hope you come to see our rehearsal. We will be there after midnight. I hope you are feeling good today Saphira, and no one else hurts you."
Saphira thought about responding, but she didn't because he shouldn't be communicating with her when she was not yet on. She did think was sweet of him to let her know about the rehearsal tonight. She had no reason not to go other than not wanting to be spoilt by it. But it was a rehearsal and that was it. It was not the main event. She actually felt her heart fluttering at Freddy's concern for her and wanting her to be there. She did not know why, considering he was just an animatronic and she's never really had a crush on anyone before. Except for her favorite movie characters of course, which would be Loki and Legolas. She was lucky to see the Lord of the Rings and the Marvel movies once she was not living with her parents. Both movie series were special to her. And Loki's character actually reminded her a little about her own childhood, given his treatment by his own family even if he was adopted. It still was something that drew her to him as a favorite character, not just for his appearance. And with that thought, she actually decided to watch a clip on YouTube to help pass the time more quickly and finish off her coffee.
The time passes by quickly and Saphira took a final mouthful of her coffee, sighing happily as she felt warm on the inside from the drink and placed the cup down before going through the cameras to begin her security round. It seemed the people that were causing issues before were all gone from the building, good. But that meant there would be something new. She slowly went through the camera footage and stopped at one of the daycare cameras. It appeared Sun was removing a child from the daycare after the kid had done something bad. But the kid was screaming and the mother was trying to get the child to go back in, but Sun was not letting them. However, the woman was trying to open the door forcefully. Saphira grimaced as she did not want to go there, but she needed to. Sun was a nice animatronics, that she knew with his reaction after Moon nearly found her the previous shift when she had played Hide and Seek with him. She shakes her head and stood up, fixing her hair for a moment and walked out of the office to make her way to the daycare. It was a shame she could not ask Freddy to come with her, as she was very nervous going to the daycare right now. Even if nothing happens aside from dealing with a grumpy mother and her kid. Saphira was able to get their profiles on her Fazwatch as she reached the elevators to go up to the lobby to get to the daycare.
"Saphira, are you there?" Saphira was startled when she heard Freddy's voice again. She sighed loudly as she stepped into the elevator. "Oh! You are there!"
"You scared me Freddy. I am on my way to deal with an issue in the daycare." She breathed in deeply and straightened herself up. "I heard your message earlier, do not worry. I know you wanted to let me know about the rehearsal, I will be there."
"Excellent. And I apologize for scaring you. I was worried you did not have your Fazwatch on yet, so I wanted to repeat the message."
"It is okay Freddy. But you do know not to speak with me until I am on shift right?" Saphira knew she sounded like a jerk saying that to him, but she did not want to be in trouble for allowing it. "I know you wanted to let me know, but wait until my shift time starts. Sorry…I don't want to sound terrible."
"I understand. I guess I was just excited. I look forward to the nights now." That was a good thing, though she did wonder if that meant Freddy was depressed at night when he had no one good to talk to. "Anyway, I am about to go through my maintenance. Foxy and Monty have been through theirs. I will see you after midnight."
"That is good. Sorry I could not be there, but it is very busy tonight." Saphira stepped out of the elevator when it reached the lobby. "Though it would have been nice for some company to the daycare. Sun is still a clown."
"He's a nice fellow though…but I understand after last night. Sadly I cannot come because I would seem like I am making an excuse since I've never done that before. And we will get swarmed by guests wanting to talk to me…so it is better I am not there." Freddy did sound sad about that even though he would go with Saphira if he could. "If you wish, turn on the speaker so I can hear what is going on. I can relay that to Cliff if something goes sideways."
That was not a bad idea. She gazed at the red doors leading into the daycare, she knew there was a hallway leading to the daycare and it made her shudder a little. "I will do that. Although, I think you might hear a very angry woman and her snotty kid shortly."
"Oh…well…I will tolerate it. I am not used to angry humans."
Saphira smiled as she walked into the hallway and made her way through the hallway. She was surprised by how large it was, there were a lot of Fizzy Faz drink machines around, two bathrooms and a fountain. There were many people leaving the facility with their kids, she overheard a few complaining about the woman at the door of the daycare and she knew it was bad. Saphira made her way into the main entrance and jumped a little when she saw the golden statues of Sun and Moon in the center of the room. This was the drop off area and she saw the slide that goes down into the play area. Saphira did not need to go through there, she went through a barrier that led to the party rooms, a few stores, restaurant and a puppet show area. She had to make her way to the stairs to get down to the door.
"OPEN THE DOOR YOU STUPID CLOWN!" She heard the woman screaming loudly. "MY SON DID NOTHING WRONG! LET HIM IN NOW!"
"Ohh…I can hear that…" Came Freddy's voice through the Fazwatch, sounding surprised and worried at the same time. "That does not sound fun at all."
It was not. Saphira found herself jogging towards the stairs and running down them to the bottom floor of the area, glancing at the closed door. She saw the kid on the floor on his stomach, kicking and punching the floor while screaming to get back into the play area. She frowned and jogged over to the woman.
"Let go of the door ma'am!" Saphira said sternly, startling the woman who looked at her in total bewilderment. "Sun has kicked your child of the daycare for a reason. I am not interested in the reason, but he has rules to follow and so do the kids. Now, it is time for you to leave."
"Who do you think you are?" The woman sneered.
"I am the security guard. Now, Veronica, please allow me to escort you to the front. You can file a complaint to the customer service desk about the daycare if you wish, but screaming like a banshee is not going to get your son back into the daycare." The woman opened her mouth to speak again, but Saphira held up her hand in her face. "I am not done talking. If you continue acting like a fool, I am going to recommend banning both you and your son from the pizzaplex. We can't have fools in this place making everyone miserable."
Veronica gasped dramatically like she had just been slapped. "How dare you?! You can't ban me and my son! Do you know who his father is?" Oh here we go! A woman trying to use wealth to get her way. "My husband is the manager of the number one bank in this town, we can take you to court and take every penny from this place!"
"I highly doubt that. Please, stop causing a scene and leave so other people can retrieve their kid from the daycare." The blonde woman shakes her head and lunged from the door again. "SUN! Let my son…HEY!"
Saphira pulled the woman away and forced her arm behind her back, pulling it uncomfortably so she could not reach back and hurt Saphira. "Alright, since you are eager to do this the hard way, we shall go." She pushed the woman to the stairs, Veronica shrieked loudly and Saphira grimaced hearing that in her ear. "Keep screaming, and I will call the police!"
"No! Not the police!" The woman shrieked in fear.
"Then I suggest you do as your told!" Saphira snapped at the woman, frustrated that she was not making it easier. "I don't want to be doing this, but you chose the bed and now you can lay in it." She glanced at the kid who was watching in disbelief. "Come Jimmy, if you get left behind you will never go home again and see your friends."
The kid jumped up quickly and followed Saphira as she kept pushing the woman to get up the stairs to go through the daycare. Saphira did not let her go, not even once as Veronica was still trying to fight against her, and that meant if she let her go, the woman may try and run back to the daycare to get Sun to comply with her demands. Saphira was glad that the bot never poked his head out of the door like she expected him to. She guessed maybe it was because he did not want to deal with the woman or he did not want to scare Saphira unintentionally. It was one of the two reasons.
"I am going to get you fired!" The woman threatened aimlessly, making Saphira roll her eyes at the woman's stupid behaviour. "Do you hear me girl?! And how is a bitch like you the security guard anyway?"
"You're another one of those huh?" Saphira snorted a little and shrugged. "Maybe it is because I can break a man's leg who is twice my size if I wanted to, with the right angle and pressure of course. You need someone like that here I think."
"I don't believe you!"
"I don't care if you don't, you don't know me and I don't care about you. Besides…" Saphira chuckled a little. "Trying to get me fired will be hard. Considering everyone likes me, and you will find yourself in an ambulance on the way to the hospital if you tried to do anything to me. I think your bank manager husband would hate to know he's married a woman who can't keep her conduct together. He might dump you, your kid and find someone more suitable."
"He wouldn't!" The woman snapped in shock at Saphira's words. "I will find a way to have you fired!"
Good luck with that!
Saphira ignored the woman as she forced into the lobby and made the way downstairs so she and her son would scan out through the exit barriers. Once that was done, Saphira let the woman go and Veronica immediately began to cry loudly, covering her eyes with her hands and acting like an idiot. Saphira rolled her eyes as she watched this grown woman storming out with her child behind her. She walked back into the lobby, ignoring everyone staring at her as they knew she was the one who kicked the woman out and Saphira used her Fazwatch to send a recommendation to have the woman and child banned from the facility.
"Well…that was not what I wanted to listen to," Freddy said through the Fazwatch as Saphira returned to one of the elevators and waited to go the atrium while checking the cameras with the Fazwatch. "I…I can see why we need security. Especially given what I just heard. But can you really break a person's leg?"
"Of course. I've done it before." Saphira shrugged as it was not a nonsense thing to do in her eyes. "It was only once though when I had to prove that I passed the self defense course. Though I didn't mean to do it, I was just doing what I had to do to pass it. Luckily I wasn't in serious trouble for that since it was an accident."
"Oh, I thought you had been attacked and you had to do that to someone. Well, I am relieved that is not the case. You are one brave super star." Her smile widened hearing him say that to her. She really enjoyed hearing him calling her super star. "I hope you never have to do that to someone while you are here."
"No promises on that. Anyway, aren't you being maintained right now?"
"Well…yes…do not worry, I am not letting them hear our conversation. They are almost done anyway."
"Hmmm…okay. But probably best not to talk to me while you are being maintained through the Fazwatch. I don't want to have a conversation with Cliff about whatever we are talking about. That would be awkward." Plus, Saphira felt it was wrong considering Freddy should wait in case there is an issue in his system.
"Very well. Well…I hope the night goes by quickly so we can see you soon. I dislike not being able to see you."
Saphira felt that was really sweet. She stepped into the atrium and made her way towards Roxy Raceway. There were some troublesome teens there at the moment arguing about who was the winner in a race even when a winner is clearly shown. Looks like she was in for a very busy night, and she did not know how she felt about that. But she would make sure to be there at the rehearsals on time. She would feel bad about missing out on it, even if she got there just after they start.
