It was officially week two on the job, Saphira was thrilled that she had achieved that. She felt like she was able to achieve anything at the pizzaplex, even though it was just one week completed. She had to achieve more than that to know if she would be able to do more with the animatronics aside from routine maintenance. She was excited their scent receptors would be added to their endos this week though. She did not know exactly what day that would be, she assumed before the big shows at least. But that was okay, Saphira was patient about that. She had arrived at the pizzaplex early like she always does, she does not see Darren this time which was fine, though she could easily picture him in some extravagant suit anyway, so she didn't feel she was missing much. If he needed to speak with her, he would. Saphira had a pair of airpods in her ears as she was listening to an Abba song and humming along to it as she made her way through the lobby to the elevators. Usually she would listen to the theme song of the elevator, but Saphira felt like listening to other music for the time being. Plus, she had needed something to try and be relaxed for the night given she didn't really have the best sleep, but she was rested enough for the night. When she reached the atrium and stepped out onto the second balcony, she glanced at the map bot, it did not speed towards her thankfully so she continued to walk. It was pretty quiet again tonight, a little busier than Sunday night, but she expected the place to be completely empty by ten thirty so it will make her job easier. Plus, she knew it was routine maintenance night so she was looking forward to that. Saphira reached the security office door and opened it, she was a little startled when she saw something big and plush in her seat. She was surprised, it was the same, big, Glamrock Freddy plush Saphira had said she wanted from Freddy's room the night before. He must have brought it to her room during the day. She definitely did not know how he would have brought it here without being spotted. However, she smiled as she looked at the plush bear, it was a very nice gesture. Freddy had a way of thinking of her, and it was simple and nice. He couldn't give her flowers or chocolates, so he had to resort to what he had access here. As much as Saphira still had not really thought about her own feelings towards Freddy, he was not afraid to show his.
She picked up the toy and she noticed Freddy's scent was on the fabric. She couldn't help but sniff it a little, the pleasant odour of his musky, metal scent brought her comfort. She shakes her head and realized she was getting off on his scent from a teddy bear. She hugged the bear by its neck thoughtfully, thinking to herself. She has never known what love really was. Maybe that was why she was hesitant to accept Freddy's. He too did not know how to feel love, and now he felt it and was trying to understand it. Maybe they were not too different from each other. She sighed and hugged the bear tightly before she moved the toy to sit it by the desk. She didn't know if she would take it home with her or not, but she also still had the smaller plush toy too so she considered taking that one home with her instead of the larger toy that was nearly as big as her. She puts her stuff down and walked over to the coffee machine to make herself a mocha, silently hoping she wouldn't be sick again tonight. The song was she listening to finished and grabbed out her phone to stop the music playing for a bit and relaxed in her chair, looking through her phone silently. She glanced at the cameras briefly, most of the animatronics were back in their room, but she couldn't see Freddy in his room. She hummed and clicked through the monitors and found him in a party room, he was smiling and opened his stomach hatch, pulling out a large birthday cake for a child. She smiled, happy that he was having a good time. She did think it was a tad late for a birthday party, but if the parents booked it, there was little she could do about it. He probably would be there for a while, so talking to Freddy was probably not going to happen until he was finished and back in his room. She stood up to get her coffee to drink to pass the time and tidy her hair and uniform a little bit.
Once it hit nine, she clocks it and began to go through the monitors casually. It seemed most people had already left, but there was a group at Bonnie Bowling, a few customers at Glamrock Gifts and the party guests in one of the party rooms by the daycare. That was an easy amount of people. She did check to see which technicians were here. She saw Cliff, Marian and Mason in Parts and Service. She was surprised there was an endo in the protective cylinder, all three were working on it. She wondered if this was Mr Hippo's endo, or Foxette's. She did not know. She wanted to ask them about it, but decided not to distract them. Dave was not present. She hummed a little and began to look through the cameras to find him. However, as she continued to look through the cameras she could not find him. She thought he would be here, it seemed like Dave was here everyday like she was. She figured maybe he had a day off, or he could be taking a sick day. She did not know, but she was paranoid about him at the moment. Along with almost everyone else in the building. As she could not find him, she guessed he could be in the endo warehouse, it was the one part she couldn't actually check since there were no actual cameras. That would make sense due to the endo in the protective cylinder.
She sipped more coffee, shaking her head and leaned back, she rubbed her forehead and looked at the ceiling. She did not know if she would be able to get to the bottom of what was happening, but she would try. Because if she didn't, it will keep happening. She finished off her coffee and got up from the chair, she grimaced a little as she had to check the utility tunnels and basement again. And this time, no animatronics to accompany her. She walked out of the office, gazing around the atrium, her eyes blinked at she gazed at the neon lights around the room and smiled slightly. She still couldn't get over how big and amazing this place was. Even being here an entire week didn't change her mind about that. It was a good thing as being interested in the place she was working at made coming here better. Even with the threats looming over her. She never had that working at the daycare or museum beforehand, so it was really nice. She walked through the door into Rockstar Row and smiled, glancing to her right at the rooms where the animatronics were. She walked by their rooms, all the animatronics were present and she waved at them as she was going past. Only Freddy was still at the party, so she was not worried.
"You're going into the utility tunnels aren't you Saphira?" Bonnie's voice came through on the Fazwatch. "Honestly…you should take one of us with you. Just in case. I know it's breaking the rules…but I for one would rather go with you."
"But you hate the tunnels Bonnie…besides, yeah, I don't want to get into trouble. Cliff already told me not to allow it. Sorry." She glanced back at Bonnie's window, she saw the animatronic at the window, looking at her with worry. "I will be fine. It's very early right now."
"Perhaps…but I still worry. After what happened last night…it makes going into the tunnels more dangerous for you."
"I appreciate your concern Bonnie. I'll definitely scream through the Fazwatch if something terrible does happen." She gave him a thumbs up and turned to look at the red doors into the utility tunnels. "I am not happy about it either, but…it's my job…I applied for it. So I got to do it. Until I get told otherwise."
"Alright…be careful…Freddy is at a birthday party right now. He'll want to know you're okay when he is finished. I believe he'll be there for at least another thirty minutes." Of course she knew he'd want to know she would be okay, but Saphira did need to do what she needed to do. "Make sure you're back for maintenance too, I know you love that."
Saphira smiled and glanced back to give him a wink. "Of course, that is why I am heading down there for a quick sweep. I won't be long."
She pushed open the doors and made her way down the stairs carefully to the utility tunnels. She turned her flashlight on and looked around carefully, especially once she reached the bottom of the stairs. There was no one in the tunnels, the workers had finished for the night in here and she walked through them. She could smell some of the diesel that was coming from the forklifts, she grimaced a little as she didn't enjoy the smell at all. She considered putting her airpods in whenever she comes down here…but that probably was not a good idea, so she scrapped that. The last thing she needed was to be listening to music and have something sneak up behind her. So far, the utility tunnels were clear. That was good. Next was the basement. She definitely will be check for a head on a string again. Thankfully, there was no clown head or anything strange in the basement at all, Saphira didn't really stay too long to find out though, and she made sure to check above the elevator doors for anything creepy.
Nothing unusual tonight…good…it might actually be a normal night tonight.
But Saphira did not want to hold her breath about that because she knew that could change. Being back in the elevator was a bit of a relief so she could get out of the basement and not have to deal with it for much longer. She glanced at the time, she had been down here for thirty minutes, Freddy would be done by now and be on his way back to his room. She wanted to let him know she was okay, but reaching out may also cause him to worry more and think she needs help. She did not know, but as she stepped back into the utility tunnels, Saphira walked back through them and decided to go back up to Rockstar Row instead of the lobby since nothing else has happened. She turned her flashlight down hallways adjacent from the main hallway, she heard nothing. Not until she was nearly at the end and she heard the echoing sound of a music box. She turned with wide eyes, shining her light down the hallway and saw nothing. But she did hear someone begin to sing.
"Ring-a-ring-a rosies,
A pocket full of posies…"
The person was singing very slowly in a high pitched, clown-like voice. Saphira felt her skin crawling upon hearing it, especially since this was a song she remembers from her childhood. A song with a sinister backround to it.
"A tissue, a tissue,
We all fall down!"
Saphira blinked for a moment, she still saw no one, but she turned and ran. There was absolutely no way she was staying down there. She heard a shrill, sinister laughter from behind her and she ran towards the stairs to try and run up them as fast as she could.
"A girl stays here too long,
Finding out what is going on.
She gets too close, we can't have that!
You will fall down!"
Saphira was shocked to hear the lyrics being changed, and she definitely knew running was her best open. She raced up the stairs, her heart felt like it was going to burst from her chest from fear and adreneline. She gasped as her foot catches on one of the stairs before a landing. She grimaced as her chin scrapes the edge of the stair and her palms hit the cement landing. She didn't stay still too long, she scrambled to her feet and raced up the last few flights of stairs and reached the door. She stopped for a moment to catch her breath, breathing in and out deeply, trying to make it seem like she was not scared. But she heard the laughter again, this time it was right below her and she felt her hair standing on her skin. She quickly opened the door and stepped through, closing it and leaning slightly against it with her arms spread slightly like she was trying to stop something from coming through. She swallowed and took deep breaths again, trying her best to calm down. She looked at her hands and grimaced, her palms were red from the impact of her fall, thankfully they were not bruised. The same could not be said about her left chin. She put weight on it and she grimaced at the buring pain from it.
Ouch! That hurts!
If only those lyrics that person said was just a literal trip, not falling down dead. She tried her best not to limp as she walked forward, wanting to hide it as best as she could. She walked over to Freddy's window, he was standing there waiting with a worried expression, his face quickly lights up when he sees her.
"Super star! You're here!" He exclaimed enthusiastically. "I was so worried! Bonnie told me you had gone into the tunnels and basement on your own while I was at the party. I hope that nothing has happened to you."
She shakes her head, forcing herself to smile as genuine as possible. "It was all clear this time. Thankfully, no sign of any clowns tonight."
"Good. I had considered following you into the tunnels if we did not hear from you in another ten minutes. Although, I would worry I would be too late." Freddy gestures for Saphira to come inside. "We have plenty of time to spend now Saphira."
"Yeah I know…but I do need to sweep the rest of the facility. You know that." She appreciated him wanting to spend time with her, but she still had a job to do. "It shouldn't take long. I assume your party guests have finished?"
"No, they received their pizza when I left. They should be leaving in about fifteen minutes, do not concern yourself with them yet. They seem like nice people." Freddy was a little disappointed Saphira turned him down, but he knew she had a job to do. He just wanted to make her happier. "Did you like the gift I left for you in your office?"
She grinned at him and nodded. "Of course I did. Thank you. But I have to ask…" She placed a hand on her hip with a curious expression. "How did you get it there without any questions?"
Freddy chuckled softly. "I did get asked about it. Darren allowed me to give it to you because I told him that you should have it to keep you company in the office. And as a way to keep you comfortable around myself and the other bots. He believed it…I did not know if he would."
That was a funny reason to Saphira. No other person would buy that. But it seemed Darren did, probably because he did not know Freddy's actual feelings towards her. She doubted anyone here did, and if they did, they were keeping their mouths shut about it. For now at least.
"It was very nice of him to let you do that. Thanks Freddy, I really do like it. But now, I have to keep going. Sorry." She nearly forgot to pretend not to limp when she lifts her left to walk and almost grimaced in front of him. "After I do my sweep, I can come back and spend some time with you Freddy. That way I am not being lazy with my duties."
"Of course super star, I would very much like that. I will be waiting. We will be heading to Parts and Service very soon. Cliff has yet to call us down." Saphira glanced at her Fazwatch to check the cameras quickly and saw they were still working on the endo. "I assume he's waiting for twelve."
"He might be. Or they're just busy with something else. Anyway, I will see you again shortly." She waves at him and walked away from his window to walk through the hallway to the atrium.
She tried her hardest not to grimace from the pain in her leg. It would go away of course, but it would take a little bit of time to do that. Saphira didn't want to worry the animatronics however. She did wonder if they will sense the injuries though once she was next to them physically. She knows their system is designed to detect injuries in guests and assist them, so she assumed they would try to help her too. So she wouldn't really be avoiding that because of that reason. But she wanted to try and ease the pain a bit so she was more comfortable tonight, she hoped her hands would not be an issue when helping with the maintenance tonight. She did wonder about the endo the technicians were working on though. She did think they wouldn't put on in the cylinder without a good reason. She entered the atrium and checked the cameras through her Fazwatch again. The guests in Bonnie Bowling had gone and were currently in Glamrock Gifts, seems like they were about to leave. The party guests Freddy had entertained before were still in the party room, they were still having some fun, so Saphira would leave them alone. It was only ten fifteen, she assumed they would leave soon due to the time anyway. She hummed as she made her way to each attraction, she paid attention to Foxy's Pirate Adventures and saw it was still open. Good, it seems like the reboot of the attraction system did the job. At least she hoped so.
She checked the rest of the attractions and restaurants to find they were clear, she checked the bathrooms and they were clear as well. They left the front of the pizzaplex, so she simply made her way to the elevators to the lobby to keep watch. She checked the cameras again and saw the party group had left the room and were making their way through the daycare hallway to the lobby. She saw the kids that were with the adults were tired, so they definitely were going home. She stepped off the elevator onto the lobby and watching over to stand by the photo booths, she heard the door to the daycare open and she counted the group to make sure they were all there. They were all accounted for and she watched them head downstairs towards the exit. Good. There was no one else, but she walked into the daycare hallway to check anyway. After all, it was a surprisingly dark hallway that leads to something bright and colourful. She checked the bathrooms and entered the daycare drop off area before taking a left to head to the party rooms. Staff bots were in there cleaning the rooms currently as she peered into them making sure they were clear and heads down the stairs just outside the daycare playground to check the area and theater.
A nice easy night…not like last week…if only it was like this every night, it would make my job easier…except for some creepy clown singing Ring-a-Ring-a Rosie.
Saphira took a moment to glance up at the wall around the playground. She was able to see into it thanks to the glass around it, but if she were to try and find someone still hiding in there, she would have to go in. She couldn't see Sun in there, she guessed he was in his room above the daycare. She knew there was a balcony at the other end from where she was at the castle in front of the ball pit. She turned away from a moment before she thought she heard movement inside the playground. She stepped up to the glass and looked around carefully, watching for any subtle movement. There was nothing. She decided her mind was playing tricks on her.
"What are you doing?" Saphira spun around in fright when she heard him. She widened her eyes seeing Sun standing there, he tilts his head as he gazed at her. "You shouldn't be here Saphira."
She took a deep breath and frowned at him. "Says who?"
"Shhh!" Sun put a finger on his mouth, looking around nervously. "You have no idea what has been happening! You shouldn't be here! You're on his hitlist!"
"Whose hitlist? Wait…you know who is after me?" Saphira asked in surprise, staring at the clown bot in shock. "Are you able to tell me?"
"I…I…I can't!" Sun rubbed his left wrist with his right hand, looking away from her, he was scared to tell her because he knew it wouldn't change anything. But also, Sun didn't want to be punished for it either. "But he's everywhere, watching. He's in the system. He…" Sun began to suddenly dance, making Saphira jump and she observed him for a moment, and realized he was dancing almost exactly like that rabbit and clown she saw in Foxy's Pirate Adventures. "You've seen him already…he likes…likes bringing pain. That is all I can say…please…whatever you do, do not let Moon near you."
"But…he's you…"
"Yes…but Moon was never…he's never meant to hurt or scare…I don't know what happened to him. But…he's got him…" Sun shakes his head and placed his hands over his eyes. "That is why the lights go out for him…please…save yourself Saphira." His voice began to sound so low and in pain as he spoke to her. "Before it is too late…"
Saphira did not know if she should believe him or not, but Sun was acting out of fear and he wanted to not see her harmed. But it interested her that Moon was never meant to scare or hurt anyone. Something happened to him, and Sun knew it. But why was Sun left alone? Perhaps because he needs to remain friendly for kids.
"Thanks for the warning…but…I…can't leave. I need this job."
"More than your own life?!" Sun snapped back, causing Saphira to jump back and frown at him. "You already know about the missing. Do you want to join them?"
"Why are children on that list?" Saphira asked curiously. "That makes no sense to me."
Sun whined and held his head like he was having a migraine and his face spun around suddenly for a moment before he spoke. "I…I c-c-can't say…I am sorry…it will be worse for me and you if you know. So please…for your sake, leave…I wish I could be your friend Saphira. I know I am a clown…you hate clowns! But…I am really nice…I just…am scared of myself."
He sounded so heartbroken about it. He wanted to be her friend, but he couldn't because of the danger he poses to her with Moon. Saphira smiled at him and took a deep breath, her nervousness fading slightly as she knew that Sun himself was harmless, it was just Moon she had to be careful of.
"I hope we can be friends Sun…maybe if I find out how to fix Moon. That would fix things." Saphira smiled at him and glanced into the playground for a moment. "I still want to get into that ball pit."
"He, he…yeah…everyone loves that…" Sun looked down at his hands for a moment and looked back at Saphira. "Please don't try to fix anything. He has a grip on this place so hard that he won't let go."
Saphira still did not know who this person was. But the fact he has said she's met him made her think of Dave…but if it was someone else…than who was it? Who was the master mind here? She did not know.
"Everything will be okay Sun. I promise." She wanted to shake his hand, but she risked him suddenly becoming Moon if the lights go out, so she refrained from it. "I still have to finish my duties."
Sun nodded silently. He bounces up with the string attached to him pulling him up and he lands in the playground. Saphira turned away and walked out of there as quickly as possible. Sun knew a lot more than he was letting on, but she understood he risked his own safety telling her anything. What he had said now could get him into trouble. She hoped that won't happen. He was a really nice bot, despite being a clown bot. She hoped to be able to look past that to be his friend. She returned to the lobby to check and it was thankfully empty, she glanced at her watch and smiled, she still had an hour before the pizzaplex closes. She wanted to get back to Freddy now, she felt safe with him. Right now, she felt unsafe. She had actually forgotten all about her hands and chin at this point, she didn't feel the pain as her mind was on other things right now. Especially after what Sun had just told her. He has been giving her so many warnings…and Saphira still wanted to remain here. Because she felt she had to, the animatronics were important to her now. This was their home, and someone was causing problems that needed to be resolved. That is how she felt about it now.
