Fixing Bonnie was not very easy at all. Removing the rest of his casings to be completely replaced was a painful task, mostly because some of the casings had been bashed against the endo to the point where they were caught in the endo joints. And that was a task in itself to remove. Saphira was lucky to have Freddy help her hold Bonnie's shoulders down as that was where he was flinching the most, even though she could tell Bonnie was trying his hardest not to. After all, this was extremely risky with him being active. Deactivating him would prevent this being harder than it was, but Saphira did not intend on that unless absolutely necessary. She had taken photos of both Bonnie and Monty to send to Darren to let him know there has been a situation at the pizzaplex and that it needed his attention. The manager has yet to get back to her as she knew he was probably asleep in his bed right now without any concern about what would be happening at the pizzaplex. Right now, Saphira was busy replacing so many parts, it was taking her such a long time on everything that she didn't know, or care how long it was going to take. She wanted to get Bonnie fixed as soon as possible. She did not know if the big show would go on Friday, but that was the least of her concern. While yes it was the biggest show of the week, if it had to be put on hold until Bonnie and Monty were fully functional again, then so be it.
Drips of sweat fell from Saphira's forehead, she was focused on Bonnie's legs right now. She had finished Bonnie's arms and part of his shoulders, she had worked out how much of a puzzle the endos were, but she was focused. Freddy had said nothing to her during this time, Saphira was way too focused on her task. He did watch her though, and he was amazed at how committed she was at getting them fully repaired. The concentration and determination she had in her eyes definitely was not seen in any of the other technicians. She really cared about the animatronics, even in such a short time, she really cared for them. He glanced down Bonnie's endo, seeing their endos was not the most exciting thing for the animatronics to see. In fact, it was horrific. Freddy couldn't help but consider this to be their version of naked, so he somewhat understood Saphira's need to cover herself. But, seeing Bonnie's endo up close like this, Freddy did know their endo could be replaced and their casings put onto them, he pondered if that meant there was another Glamrock Freddy before him. If that was true, he would hate to know what caused him to be deactivated.
His ears twitch when he heard Saphira hissing suddenly and backing away from the endo suddenly. "Saphira?"
She shakes her hand and clenched her fingers together. "I'm fine…I was being careless…the joints just managed to squish my fingers slightly."
"Should you stop?" Freddy asked curiously, scanning her body for any additional sign of injury.
She shakes her head. "No, this is nothing. It'll be fine." She stepped back up to the leg to get back to her task. "If only we had an extra pair of hands, this would make life so much easier."
"I know. But we have you. You're the best technician here Saphira, if anyone can get Bonnie back to full performance, it is you." Freddy's confidence in her made Saphira bite her lip to keep her emotions from getting the better of her.
She took a deep breath to get back to work. She knew Bonnie did not mean it, so she did not take it personally. He has not said anything or made much noise since she had started working on him. She knew he had no reason to, plus, she wanted him to wait until she checked his voice box. That was one of the final things to do, but she wanted to finish the main areas to his body. After all, she had wires to fix too, not just the small joint parts. She was lucky there were not many endo parts she had to fix. She would need to weld a few areas, use a blow torch for some of the stomach hatch area and there were screws that needed to be drilled back in, so she would definitely try to ensure that Bonnie was in as little pain as possible. Even though, she was very sure he was in so much pain. He was simply hiding it, or unable to make a sound at the moment. She did pause when she heard Freddy whispering to Bonnie and glanced at him with a frown. She had no idea what he was whispering to Bonnie, but Freddy appeared to be gesturing with his eyes to something and she couldn't figure out what that was. Nonetheless, she turned her attention back to his legs to finish them off. She was lucky that Bonnie's package between his legs was undamaged. She had no idea how she would repair that considering it was not metal, and she was not used to worked with rubber before. And it would be embarrassing because the other animatronics would be watching her…especially Freddy. Last thing she needed was for him to start asking awkward questions while in the middle of repairing Bonnie.
Saphira took a deep breath once she finally finished the legs, they were not longer twitch, it was just Bonnie's head, ears and torso. That was the hardest part. Freddy made sure to hold him down as Saphira began work on the shoulder, chest and neck areas first. She had to get onto the chair to do that, leaning over Bonnie to work on these areas, she did wonder if was possible to get a step to put into the cylinder because it would make life so much easier for her when working on the animatronics, especially as the chair wasn't exactly that low to the ground. Freddy made sure that Bonnie would not flinch as much as possible, it wouldn't take much for something to happen and for Saphira to fall off onto the floor. She had been hurt enough tonight. Freddy did hope that Darren would not fire her. Sure, they both have confessed their feelings to each other. But…Freddy did not know how he would feel now if she was gone from his life. Especially since Freddy wanted her to stay in his arms forever. Or at least, for as long as possible.
"Freddy, do you mind holding the chest down now please?" Saphira asked softly. "I have to work on the shoulders and then I'll need you to hold his head so I can work on the neck."
Freddy nodded, moving his hands to Bonnie's chest, holding it in place while Saphira worked on the shoulders. He was careful not to put a huge amount of pressure on Bonnie's endo in case he causes damage that she would need to fix again. Especially since she has been working on Bonnie for a little over an hour now. Freddy knew the time. It was four right now, and Saphira still had not started on Monty. He worried she wouldn't get to fix Monty in time, unless Darren gives her the time to fix him. Technically, since she was manager, she had more power in her time here, so she may not need Darren's permission to remain. She simply needed to tell him what happened and deal with the mess in Bonnie Bowling.
"Y-Y-You a-a-are d-d-doing a f-f-fantastic job," Bonnie's glitchy voice came through. "M-M-My system…I-I n-n-need r-r-rech-charge…"
Saphira glanced at Bonnie's eyes in surprise. She did not know how to recharge him in the cylinder, she did wonder how long it would take for his system to shut down, or being to. She was happy he has lasted this long, Freddy looked at her with worry as he did not want Bonnie to shut down from lack of power.
Saphira slid off the table, she had finished what she needed on the shoulders anyway and looked through the tool options and found the recharge cable, she looked at the brief instruction for it and pulled the cable down to attach to a slot in Bonnie's chest. She made sure it was in good and Bonnie slowly moved his hand to give her a thumbs up. She smiled, moving to his neck to work on it. Freddy held the rabbit's head, making sure it did not move so much, his eyes watch Saphira's hands closely. He knew his own hands could never do this delicate work that she could do, even watching how she worked would not be enough to know how to fix his friends. It was a flaw to him that he could not fix anything regarding his friends. Foxy was the only one out of them with thin fingers, he could possibly learn, but it would not be the same as Saphira's hands. And Foxy has not been taught anything to do regarding repairing animatronics, or even routine maintenance, none of them have. It was a nice thought to have, even though Freddy did wish they were able to help each other that way.
"Ooh, okay, neck is done…" Saphira looked closer at Bonnie's face. "Hmm…your right eye is cracked Bonnie, I'll have to have that replaced. Your ears were already gone, so they will be replaced…your jaw needs a touch up…once I do that, I can move onto your voice box and the last parts which will be a bit unpleasant."
"You are doing fantastic super star," Freddy said, relaxing his arms away from Bonnie. "He's not twitching anymore."
"No, I know. But I don't mind you staying to watch me Freddy. It is nice to have your company." Saphira wiped her forehead again and moved closer to Bonnie before getting more tools, a new eye for Bonnie and ear parts. "Okay, let's get…" She gasped as she felt Freddy pick her up suddenly. "What are you…?" She paused when she felt him sitting her on his knee as he had dropped to one knee behind her. "What the hell Freddy?"
"I figured you wouldn't mind resting your legs," Freddy responded with a smirk as Saphira looked at him in bewilderment.
She definitely had not expected that, but she was able to rest her legs and she smiled at him. "Umm, thank you Freddy. That was unexpected. Warn me next time."
Freddy chuckled at her gently as she looked away to begin work on Bonnie. It was not easy watching her shut off wiring to Bonnie's right eye, the rabbit twitches slightly and she removes it and places the new one back in quickly and connected the wiring to the endo. It was the first thing she wanted to do so Bonnie had use of both of his eyes properly. Bonnie was thankful for that, he did not say it, but Saphira saw it in his eyes by how he looked at her. She smiled at him and moved to attach his new ears next. She had to replace the wiring that were attached to the old ears as they were destroyed and attach new ones. Bonnie winces as Saphira worked on his ears, attaching them to his head as quickly and as gently as she could. Bonnie, although he had been feeling pain while Saphira worked on him, he did feel how gentle she was regarding repairing them. He couldn't remember at all if anyone was gentle before, Saphira definitely deserved her job here at the pizzaplex. At least, that is what Bonnie felt.
Saphira smiled once the ears were attached properly, making sure the small joints were attached properly and moved onto his jaw. He didn't need his jaw replaced like Monty did, but she was sure that Dave would have tried to hit his jaw more than once. The jaw was loose though and the lower jaw had detached slightly, so Saphira had to screw that back on. She tightened the joints, and like she did with Mr Hippo's jaw, she made sure it was not so tight or too loose, ensuring that Bonnie will be comfortable and his jaw would not shut suddenly on its own. She smiled, she felt like she was almost done, yet there was still a little bit more to do.
"Alright, I am going to see what I can do for you voice box," Saphira said, reaching between Bonnie's jaws to grabbing the small, rectangular box and removed it from the holder, pulling it out carefully so the wires don't snap or snag. She looked it over, it was not damaged, so she looked more closely at the wires. "I'll let you know when you can talk so I can hear how it sounds."
"O-O-Okay."
Saphira watched the front of the box light up with soundwaves, she smiled slightly and looked over the box for a moment before finding the callibration buttons and wheels. She began to tweak them gently, she was surprised to hear a whirring, radio sound coming from the voice box as she did this, but she didn't question it as she assumed this was normal. While she did this, she noticed one of the wires had split, it was still plugged into the voice box. She smiled, this meant this might be the issue. She gestured for Freddy to hold the voice box for her while she replaced the wiring. Freddy was more than happy to hold it, he was careful not to move at all as he didn't want to hurt his friend. Saphira was quick though, removing the old wiring and attaching the new wiring as quickly as possible. She hummed to herself as she made sure that it would not spark or disconnect on its own.
"Alright Bonnie, say something," Saphira said with a smile, looking at his eyes hoping that she did a good.
"Um…okay…oh!" Bonnie widened his eyes in surprise when he heard his voice was not glitching anymore. "You fixed it! Thanks Saphira!"
"Don't thank me yet, I now have to do the last things, which unforunately involves the welder, blow torch and drill a few bolts in, I'll be quick with them though, but I am warning you now." Saphira slipped off Freddy knee and turned to him. "And I sadly can't do that while sitting."
"That is okay, I would rather not be near those tools," Freddy said, shaking his head with a grimace and looked down at Bonnie. "Sorry old friend."
"I really need to figure out how to cut feeling off in without deactivating you," Saphira said, pulling down the blow torch first, a face shield and protective gloves. "It would make life a bit easier for you to not feel the sting, but Freddy can assure you Bonnie it won't take long."
"Yeah, but I only had a small issue, I was not smashed up like him or Monty," Freddy responded, sounding very nervous about seeing the blow torch and watched Saphira turned it on, turning the flame to a low, controlled flame. "Erm…and I can't leave now can I?"
Saphira chuckled a little. "I am not going to aim it at you Freddy, you will be fine."
She stepped closer to Bonnie's stomach hatch, grabbing a few pieces she needed. "Hang tight Bonnie, this will not take long."
That did not stop him from clutching the armrests and closing his eyes, she noticed his endo was shaking a little and she realized he was afraid. She felt bad for him, after all, she was essentially operating on him and she was doing that while he was awake. Any hospital who did that while a patient was awake would be shut down. So Saphira fully understood that the animatronics did not enjoy this at all. But she worked quickly, first heating up the metal she had in her hand and moving it into the stomach hatch to attach. Bonnie flinched feeling the hot metal on his endo. Saphira did wonder if the heat from these tools was the main reason they hated it. It must feel like a sting, that was the only thing she could associate that kind of pain with. But for now, she worked as fast as she could, and had to wait for the pieces to cool as well before finishing them off, but she was quick with the tool and she soon finished after ten minutes of working on Bonnie, although the bot would argue it felt like hours. She put the tool away and wiped her forehead, she took deep breaths as she knew she would need to have a short break before she would start on Monty. Everything tonight really made her emotions go over the place, and it made her exhausted.
"Okay, that is done," Saphira said, grabbing the welder next. "This won't be as long, I need to weld a few leg joints and stomach hatch pieces, and I am done. The drill won't be that bad for you will it?"
"No, but it feels very weird to us, so it is a bit unpleasnant," Freddy responded, wincing slightly as he looked at the welder. "Please be quick and gentle Saphira, I know Bonnie is itching to get out."
"I know, but a little more patience is needed and then we can do the diagnostics once I am done," Saphira said, pulling the shield back down and walked to Bonnie's thighs. "He's practically repaired, but I am not letting him walk when he is not at peak performance."
"I understand…you are almost there old friend, she is nearly done repairing you." Freddy rubbed Bonnie's shoulder gently as the rabbit winced as Saphira began to weld.
"I know…it just…you know, hurts…" Bonnie grimaced and twitched as the welder touched his endo thigh, she was aiming between the joints of his thigh and hip, and it was rather sensitive.
But she did not take long, and she pats his thigh gently and moved to the otherside, humming softly as she worked on him, keeping herself focused as she worked quickly, efficiently and gently. She was glad she was almost done. At least Monty won't be as big of a fix as Bonnie, but she knew he would take a bit to fix. She hoped he would not get too twitchy if she has to use the welder or blow torch, she assumed she might have to with his stomach hatch. She sighed in relief once she finished the legs and moved up to Bonnie's stomach hatch to work on. Bonnie whimpered a little, holding back while he grimaced and clutched the armrests, he actually wanted to try and roll his body, but he knew if he did that, Saphira would get angry at him for it. So he remained as still as possible. Plus, Freddy probably would stop him too, even if the bear would understand Bonnie's discomfort. But, to Bonnie's surprise, the discomfort did not last as long as he thought it would. He looked down at her in surprise and watched the welder being put away. She was breathing heavily and wiped her forehead again. Bonnie scanned Saphira for a moment and noticed her body was overheating.
"Saphira…maybe you rest for a moment," Bonnie said softly, surprising both Saphira and Freddy. "You are overheating."
"Oh, I know, I'll rest once I'm done. Just a few screws, new casings put on and diagnostics, we will be good to go," Saphira responded in a near breathless voice with a smile. "Don't worry about me. It will be okay."
"Hmmm…very well…" Bonnie glanced up at Freddy. "Make sure she doesn't collapse on the floor. I fear that might happen if she keeps pushing."
Freddy nodded. He too scanned Saphira's body when Bonnie mentioned she was overheating, and to his shock and despair, Bonnie was right. Saphira was indeed overheating, but they didn't really understand why. Saphira did feel lightheaded, but it was not terrible enough for her to stop. She grabbed the drill and pressed the button a few times to run it before attaching the correct end to it and moved back to Bonnie's stomach hatch to screw the bolt in. It was required so that the hatch plate wouldn't fall off from a loose joint. It was the easiest part of the job so far, and as there were only four screws to screw in, it didn't take long at all and Saphira was done, stepping back from Bonnie with a smile.
She grabbed the console and looked at it, pressing buttons to put the new casings on. "You are going to look nice and shiny with your new casings Bonnie." She smiled at him, hearing the noises from above. Freddy moved away to give space and watched as the casings were lowered down to place onto the bot. "I am glad I don't have to do this part, it would take so long."
"Yes, this protective cylinder was designed very well," Freddy said, watching as Bonnie received his new casings.
His body was very shiny with the new polished casing, and Saphira was sure the purple shade was a tad darker than it was before. Nonetheless, she moved onto diagnostics to go through to ensure Bonnie's body was running smoothly. She followed the instructions perfectly and she was very happy Bonnie was back into tip top shape. She smiled and pushed up the console, looking at Bonnie as he slowly sat up in the chair.
"Well Bonnie, I think I did a good job," Saphira said while dancing a victorious dance as she was happy she fixed him without any other technician.
"You did a fantastic job! I feel brand new, if I am honest." Bonnie smiled at her gently as he moved his fingers, ears and feet. "A lot better than before. Thank you."
"She is our super star!" Freddy exclaimed, watching Bonnie as his friend moved his legs off the chair to stand.
Saphira turned away and walked towards the door, she felt a near surge of dizziness suddenly, making her swagger in her step and lean against the doorway once the door open, holding her head as it began to throb. Her ears were ringing slightly and black spots filled her vision. She rubbed her eyes slightly, and glanced towards the computer, she had to finish the log.
"Easy Saphira, I'm here." She felt Freddy's arms around her waste, supporting her. "Finish the log and you can sit down for a bit. Someone, get Saphira water. She might need it."
"Already did!" Roxy responded, holding two giant cups with a smile. "We saw how she was starting to sway a little while working on Bonnie, we know she is pushing herself. I went got them myself."
"Thanks Roxy," Saphira responded with a weak smile. She stepped forward, towards the computer, feeling her legs were somehow not able to support themselves and she found herself leaning on Freddy. "Shit…my head…"
"I am here super star." Freddy rubbed her back gently as he walked with her to the monitor. "Finish the log, and Bonnie is fixed. You can rest before you work on Monty."
Saphira nodded as they reach the computer and she moved her shaky hands to the keyboard to type and finish the log. Her eyes blur slightly and she blinked to adjust her eyes again to see properly and finish the log. Once that was done, she sighed with relief and she felt Freddy lifting her up again. She was grateful for that this time. He carried her to a table to sit on and Roxy walked over with both cups.
"Here you are kid," Roxy said, holding out one of the cups to her. "I know you probably…" Saphira grabbed the cup and pulled off the top. "Hey! What are you…" She widened her eyes and Freddy stepped back when Saphira poured the water over her face and body, not caring that she had drenched herself in cold water. "You're supposed to drink that!"
"That feels better…" Saphira muttered, placing the cup down and reaching for the other cup and taking it from Roxy. "Thanks Roxy." She began to sip the cold water, supporting herself with one arm and glancing at Freddy. His eyes were wide and looking at her with a strange look. "What?"
Freddy glanced up at her with a smile. He said nothing and stepped closer to her again and moved an arm around her back, rubbing gently as he watched her drink. However, Saphira did glanced down a little and realized he probably could see her bright, blue bra through the wet shirt. She didn't have the energy to blush though, so her face remained the natural colour.
"SAPHIRA!" Darren's panicked voice, startled everyone as the doors slam open. Darren, who was still wearing a pair of blue pyjamas, blinked when he saw Bonnie who was standing next to Monty and holding his hand. "Oh! You fixed Bonnie!" Darren smiled as he walked over briskly, looking at Bonnie with wide eyes. "You look brand new."
"I feel like it. Thanks to Saphira, she did a fantastic job," Bonnie smiled, glancing at Saphira with a kind expression. "If it were not for her, I am not sure what would have happened."
"What did happen?" Darren turned to look at Saphira. She had moved her arm across her chest, feeling self conscious now that he was here, but Darren did not seem to care. "Why are you all wet?"
"I was feeling lightheaded after fixing Bonnie, so I needed to cool my body. Plus…after everything that happened, I suppose it is acceptable." She huffed a little, taking another sip of water before gesturing to Monty. "I'll work on Monty in a moment."
"Who damaged them like that?"
"Dave."
Darren widened his eyes in shock when everyone in the room responded to him, telling him it was Dave who did it. "Huh? Dave? That's impossible! He left the pizzaplex at seven!"
"It is not impossible, you'll find him wearing a weird clown, rabbit costume in Bonnie Bowling," Saphira said to him calmly. "Oh, and prepare yourself for the mess up there too. There was a big fight there."
"Yeah, he hit me from behind when I put my bowling ball back onto the stand after I finished beating a group of teenagers," Bonnie said, frowning as he remembered what happened to him. "It was so sudden, I nearly thought my eyes would go dark, until I saw him. I tried to stop him, I begged and I scratched him, but he had a sledgehammer. It hurt a lot…he dragged me into the storage room…Saphira found me there and she fought Dave."
"You do kind of look like something scratched your leg given your pants look like something ripped them." Darren sighed deeply, glancing around as he knew that he would have to believe them as they were there. "Alright…um…is Dave tied up or something?"
Saphira shakes her head. "No, he was going to destroy Monty and I…um…he's dead." She looks down, knowing that admitting that she had killed him to protect the animatronics may not be a good thing. "But…I had to…he was a psycho!"
Darren was shocked. He didn't know if he should be afraid of her or not. "Alright…umm…I'll go look, and I'll look through the footage, and I will contact the police." He turned away from Saphira in shock, walking away. "Just so you know, I can't fire you since I promoted you to manager for night security. It will be up to Mr Miller."
That was something. But if Mr Miller felt she caused more trouble than she solved, she could still be forced to leave. She knew that Darren was about to find a horror scene in Bonnie Bowling, but at least he would know what happened. And she hoped he would guess that it was Dave who caused the disappearances, including Cliffon, even since he became technician. Saphira still didn't know how Dave managed to get away with it for so long. But, he was very cunning.
"At least he does not seem mad," Chica said softly as she was worried about Saphira leaving as well. She looked to Saphira and Freddy with a gentle smile. "You know, even if Saphira has to leave, she has saved a lot more lives."
"I don't know…Sun said there was more out there…they could end up here. I think all I did was get rid of one puppet. There might be more deaths similar to what happened here in other places of the world. Still…I am not sure how this virus is causing this." Saphira glanced at the computer, maybe she could make sense of it if it tried to communicate with her again. "We hopefully will be in for some peace."
"Indeed. We deserve it. So many years and no answers until now, we are glad you came here Saphira." Bonnie smiled at her, he remained by Monty's side as he wanted to comfort his boyfriend as much as possible. "I realize it is fifteen minutes until six…you don't have time to fix Monty…"
"That won't stop me Bonnie, I will stay and ensure Monty is fixed before I go home. Leaving is not an option right now. Not while a friend is in need." Saphira glanced at Monty, he just blinked back at her as he was unable to smile with his jaw completely smashed. "I'll get started shortly."
Monty gives her a thumbs up and she took a deep breath and drank more water. She was feeling much better now that she had sat down, drenched herself in water and was drinking nice, cold water. She had no idea what would happen now. A weight has definitely been lifted off the pizzaplex for now. But…Saphira wondered for how long that would be. She could only wait and see, that is, if Mr Miller didn't fire her himself.
