Saphira did get to fix Monty after she was able to rest and he took much less time to fix then Bonnie. Poor Darren nearly had a heart attack when he saw the state of Bonnie Bowling and Dave's body on the floor. He had the area locked so no one could get in and he saw on the cameras that it was indeed Dave who attacked Bonnie and Saphira defended herself against him. Darren himself felt she deserved a reward for stopping Dave, especially now he was linked to all the disappearances since he became a technician. With that, the families of those who had disappeared could get some closure, even if there is no way to know what happened to them at this time. The other technicians were absolutely horrified when they were told that Dave had done this, they were already dealing with Cliffton's disappearance and now this. It seemed they were not going to come back for a while. And Saphira was offered time off too, but she refused to have a day off. There was still the need to upgrade Foxy's arm and to go through the rehearsal for their updated song. And of course, Saphira intended on upgrading them and giving them all their scent receptors, she did not want to let them down by taking a day off. It might seem crazy to some people, but Saphira felt like she would be abandoning her new family if she did that.
Currently it was an hour before her usual shift, and she was sitting in an office with Darren. He was wearing a black, glittery suit today, symbolizing his sadness of knowing the truth about the disappearances. They both were currently waiting for Mr Miller to contact them through the laptop on Zoom. They were going to hear the verdict regarding Saphira's employment. Darren was tapping his fingers on the desk gently, they both had a coffee in hand, although Saphira did see him slipping some alcohol into his drink. She didn't particularly blame him. She would be able to drink once she turned twenty-one, that was the day Freddy intended on giving her a big birthday party. They all did. She didn't really want to be drinking on the job of course, but…she would have to wait on that.
"Ah! Finally!" Darren exclaimed as he saw a notification on the screen to connect with Mr Miller. "Alright, here we go. I am going to be apologizing if Mr Miller fires you Saphira. But that is completely out of my power." Saphira nodded silently as she looked at the laptop. Darren connected to the room and they both were surprised to be met with a dark room, they could see a shadow of a person in that room, but not him. "Evening Mr Miller…um, I guess you are still content hiding your identity?"
"That has not changed even with the most recent incident." That voice…Saphira nearly shuddered at the sound of it. And not in a good way. She did not know why, the voice was deep and rough, and yet she detected a hint of anger in the voice. It was odd. "It is a real disappointment that we are going through the disappearing incidents like the other Fazbear locations. It seems to be a cloud that follows it wherever it goes."
"Yes, I agree," Darren said with a nod. "If it was not for Saphira, we probably would never discover the true culprit and more disappearances would happen." He sighed deeply, glancing down for a moment. "I really miss Cliff."
She glanced at him curiously with a raised eyebrow, hearing the way Darren spoke about Cliff almost sounded like he liked him. She was not sure, they both didn't really give off the vibe they liked each other. She said nothing about that, it was not an appropriate time and she looked back at the screen, gazing at the person in the darkness of his room.
"Yes…I agree." Mr Miller's head moves slightly in the darkness, seemingly to look at Saphira. "Miss Saphira Dawn is it?" She nodded nervously. "I have to say, I reviewed everything since you were employed by Darren here, you have been the best night guard we have had. You're assertive, attentive and you do a great job with the animatronics. You unintentionally walked into Dave's clutches as it seemed he had it in for you from the start. However, I did see the recording of what you did to him."
Saphira shifts uncomfortably in her chair. "It was not my proudest moment…I saw red when he smashed Monty's jaw…and I just lost my cool. I usually do not do that. But, I am not apologizing for it either. I have saved lives."
"Indeed…" He huffs a little, he seemed to be both impressed and angry at the same time. "I am surprised you are willing to remain after all of that. Anyone would usually run and go into therapy for something like that."
"I suppose I have experienced a little worse than Dave," Saphira responded with a shrug, although she was not totally sure about that because it was hard given her first fifteen years were hell, and what Dave did in a short time was hell. "I am a hard to break."
"It seems that way…and that is what we need from a good night guard," Mr Miller said in a soft, deep tone, sending shivers up Saphira's back again. "Well…I know you probably are worried about what I am going to do. Don't. You are not losing your position Saphira, you are keeping it." Saphira widened her eyes and smile in surprise. "After all…there might be more mysteries to solve."
Saphira's face twitched a little at that, she did not know what he meant by that, however…Mr Miller's vibe was strange. He might be the owner of the building, but that did not mean he was good did it? Saphira didn't want to assume he had anything to do with manipulating Dave…but now that she has heard Mr Miller's voice, she wasn't sure what to think. She definitely did not want more mysteries to solve, she's had enough of those.
"That is wonderful news!" Darren exclaimed happily, looking at her with a big smile. "Looks like we are stuck with you."
She giggled at him and nodded. "Yes, that is what it seems doesn't it?"
"Make sure you keep doing a good job Saphira. I will be watching." The zoom connection cuts off and Saphira clenched her hands slightly to help her relax.
"I am sure the animatronics are going to want to have a celebration knowing you are not fired," Darren said as he stood up to shut the laptop and turned to face her. "Especially since both Bonnie and Monty are fixed, pretty sure those two will want to have some good alone time once rehearsals are finished."
"Oh yeah for sure, considering they both could have lost each other thanks to Dave. They almost could not keep their hands off each other before I left this morning. I expect pretty much the same tonight." Saphira sighed as she stood up. "I guess since I have about forty-five minutes left, I should find something to pass the time."
"I don't have any suggestions. Monty's finished his performances for the night, so he is just going to be entertaining the guests with a Meet and Greet for now. However, feel free just to have a quiet one in your office if you would like." Saphira thought about it and smiled. "Well, I better finish more paperwork, I have so much to go through right now I almost want to take a long vacation."
Saphira giggled softly, she did not envy him as she walked to the door. "At least you will be able to go home soon, think of that and your nice, warm bed. It will make it so much easier to deal with."
"I certainly will think about that. Thanks Saphira. Have a good one tonight! And done strain yourself too much, okay?"
She smiled and waved slightly as she walked out of the door to head down the hallway that lead to the bottom floor of the atrium. She walked out into the massive, warm room and smiled, looking around as she was glad she was not fired. After all, she realized she would miss this place terribly if she did leave. And the only way to come back would be to pay for it. She looked around and spotted Chica, she was going around the tables telling everyone about the pizza delivery service and how great it was to control the staff bot to make the pizzas. Chica glanced at Saphira and Saphira gave her a thumbs up, making the bot smile with glee as she now knew that Saphira was staying. She did not give away that she was distracted thankfully as Chica continued to tell everyone about the service, and how much she herself enjoys the service.
No surprise there with her love of pizza!
Saphira entered her office and to her surprise, there was another large, Freddy plush in the room again. She smiled because there was also a Bonnie and a Monty plush sitting next to it as well. She chuckled and walked over to them, shaking her head slightly wondering if this was their way of thanking her and Monty's way to apologize to her. She definitely appreciated it. It was so nice, and she would have to thank them for the gifts later. Especially Monty, after he was fixed Monty practically got on his knees and apologized profusely to Saphira for how he treated her now knowing the truth about his incident. Of course, Saphira forgave him and reassured him that none of it was his fault. But this did mean, he might have a distrust of new technicians from now on. But, Saphira intended on vetting every new technician who comes here. As far as she knew, there was no adds for a technician position, which probably was good since there was still a lot for Darren to deal with before even considering hiring someone. Plus, the news has been talking about the pizzaplex about the incidents ever since it had come out who had committed the disappearances. So it was not the best time to be looking for anyone new. Although, as far as she knew, none of the current employees have left either, which is also a good sign. I think everyone is relieved Dave is gone, even if he is dead.
Saphira made herself another coffee and relaxed in the chair, humming to herself as she thought about what the night might bring. However, as she did, she jumped when the monitors began to static again until they completely change to white noise, revealing the man in the rabbit suit waving at her. She grimaced, holding her hand over her face slightly and watched the image point towards the computer. She looked towards it to see it was black with the cursor on it again.
Well played. You got rid of that nuisance for me, thank you.
She was confused, she did not know that Dave was considered a nuisance for this person. She glanced at the monitors for a moment and wondered if this was the virus. Because that is what it seemed. She sighed deeply and typed on the keyboard.
What are you?
There was a pause before it responds.
I have no form, but my thoughts and lust for blood is strong. It always has, and always will be. I always come back.
Saphira shuddered, her breath hitched slightly as knowing this being had no form, literally confirming this was the virus in the system. But…how was it created?
Who created you?
She knew she was playing with fire right now, but it was willing to talk to her…taunt her probably too, but she wanted to find out as much as she possibly could. Mr Miller wasn't exactly wrong about the mysteries she still had to solve, even if she had enough of them.
Ha, ha, ha! I am not a mere program like your computer software. I came to be here from my own body.
Wait, what? How does that make sense? Saphira frowned, if he was talking about a consciousness transfer from human to computer…that was simply unheard of.
What does that mean exactly?
More silence followed for ten seconds before she received a response.
You will learn what that means. You played well, Saphira Dawn, you get your chance to enjoy your time with the animatronics. I will get you in my clutches. Just you wait…
Saphira yelped as she covered her ears as a shrill, high-pitched laughter suddenly came through the monitors, hurting her ears and she grimaced, pressing her palms hard on her ears to prevent the sound hurting them as much as possible. It was almost, almost like a Nazgul scream. She gasped in relief when it stopped and looked at the camera monitors to see they were back to normal. She sighed deeply, shaking her head, wishing she could have at least one night without someone threatening her. Maybe that will come since it seems she would get some peace, maybe even forget about this virus in the system, even just for a little while. That would be nice.
She glanced at the time and saw it was time to clock on now, she smiled and closed on before she began her usual rounds through the cameras to find anyone who were misbehaving and needed to be removed, and to locate all the animatronics of course. That was by far the most important thing in her mind. Chica was still in the atrium, that was fine. She found Bonnie, Freddy and Mr Hippo in the party rooms, Foxy was at his usual Kid's Cove, Roxy was giving a private performance at the Raceway and Monty was in Rockstar Row doing his Meet and Greet with the fans, with them located Saphira looked for any troublemakers. And she was quick to find some, she was not surprised, Thursday was usually a busy night. But, she had noticed it was not as much as it usually was, probably due to the reports about the disappearances. That was not unusual. Hopefully the shows would still draw a huge crowd, it was a big profit for the pizzaplex of course.
The two hours of dealing with unsavoury guests past by rather quickly. Compared to what she had been through, dealing with angry people and kids was actually a breath of fresh air. And that was saying something. However, Saphira did want to make a visit to Monty before twelve as she wanted to thank him for his gift to her. For someone who had put up such a strong wall, he was actually rather soft on the inside. Saphira didn't expect him to lose all of his new personality, she felt that is what made him Monty now, but she did expect they both would become good friends. When that would happen, she did not know. But she was not going to rush it, especially with how raw everything was recently. By the time it was fifteen past eleven, the building was practically empty. Saphira chased out the last kids who were left on their own in the pizzaplex, or rather they tried to stay and hide from their parents who were ready to leave and needed Saphira to help them find them. That was a pain, but she managed to get them out and the pizzaplex was practically closed. Of course, it was not, there was another fourty-five minutes left until the complex was officially closed, but people wouldn't be allowed in right now anyway. It was just the time to send people out.
Saphira made her way to Rockstar Row, she knew all the animatronics had returned to their rooms and she smiled as she past by Foxy, Bonnie and Chica's rooms, it was unfortunate Mr Hippo was on the otherside of the atrium. However, she would say her hellos to him soon. She noticed both Bonnie's and Monty's curtains were drawn, that seemed a little odd. However, Saphira didn't question it too much as she approached Monty's door and watched it slide open to find the gator standing in front of his vanity mirror and he was moving his body around, admiring the new parts he had received.
He turned his head in surprise and smiled when he saw Saphira. "Look who decided to drop in at this time of night. Nice to see you punk." He gives her a peace sign gesture and she chuckled at him. "So what brings you here to my room hmm?"
"I wanted to thank you for you gift." Saphira walked closer to him, still smiling at him. "After all, you didn't need to give it to me. I know you were thanking me for fixing you, even if you told me."
"Bah! I don't think saying thank you so many times is enough," Monty said with a chuckle, shaking his head slightly. "After all, you saved Bon Bon, and fixed me up very good. We both owe you a lot. And we intend on showing it to you."
"I know, and I am glad. But don't worry Monty, I think the fact that I am not fired means we have enough time to make up." She winked at him and glanced around the room, she noticed it had been tidied a little bit, which was different as Monty didn't normally care about that. "I guess you decided to clean up a bit."
"I do that all the time before I have my special visitor." She chuckled softly, Saphira should have known this was him getting ready for Bonnie's arrival. "He keeps his room clean, so I must do the same to ensure he is comfortable."
"I get it. Don't worry. Does this mean Bonnie will be…" Saphira stopped mid sentence as the door opened again and she turned her head to see a surprised Bonnie walking into the room. "I have my answer I see."
"There is no need to leave Saphira, I am pleased you came to see us." Bonnie walked over to her with a smile. "You are welcome for my gift to you that I left in your room today. I can't thank you enough." He opened his arms slightly and Saphira smiled, taking the invite and stepping closer to hug him. "I am glad that you are not afraid of us anymore. It is as if you never were afraid of us."
"Me too. I kind of feel stupid for it…but I guess it can't be helped," Saphira said with a shrug, stepping back from Bonnie. "I am looking forward to rehearsals tonight. Did you all really change the lyrics?"
"We didn't change them, we just added some of the older lyrics that were originally part of the song," Bonnie responded, smiling at her as he knew she was not aware of their original lyrics. "In fact, the song's gone through quite a few changes throughout the years. The music has not, but the lyrics have."
"Who writes the lyrics anyway?" Saphira asked curiously with a frown.
"Uhhhh…good question…" Bonnie hummed, rubbing his chin lightly for a moment and glanced at Monty for a second. "Monty, you could not have waited? Saphira is asking some questions. I am pretty sure it is one of the event staff that writes the lyrics, Freddy is the one who receives them since he is the lead singer."
Saphira wondered what Bonnie was talking about regarding Monty, making her glance over her shoulder for a second only for her eyes to glance down and turn away quickly, her face turning red. "Yeah…why couldn't you have waited?"
"Hmmph, I thought it wouldn't bother you," Monty responded with a huff. "After all, you will see Freddy's at some point."
Her face felt even redder at that point. "This is your…p-p-private thing…umm…I am just…this is so weird…" She moved to get around Bonnie who seemed concerned that her face suddenly changed colour. "I will ask Freddy about where the lyrics come from."
"Sure, you can do that," Bonnie said calmly, Saphira heard him elbowing Monty. "And, I hope you're okay. Your face is very red."
"Well…" She refused to turn around, she couldn't believe Monty had the confidence to touch himself while she was in the room. It was so awkward! She thought they would be embarrassed, but maybe they hadn't considered how it made her felt. "I will be okay. I just need to wash my eyes with soap."
"That doesn't sound very nice…" Monty commented bluntly and huffing loudly. "Is this a strange ritual a human does or something?"
"Only if they see something they did not wish to see…I'll leave you alone now Monty." Saphira stepped out of the room and nearly ran from the door.
Her heart was racing so much and she couldn't help but giggle, not because it was funny, but because it was so awkward and embarrassing. However…Saphira probably shouldn't be surprised…Monty was bold in his actions a lot of the time, so this was one of them.
Note to self. Always leave Monty and Bonnie's room when they're together alone together.
She waved her hands at her face and walked over to Roxy's room, glancing into the room to see the wolf talking to herself again in the mirror. She sighed, smiling to herself. That wolf probably won't ever change, she knew Roxy had a heart of gold, she just puts on a tough exterior and talks herself up for confidence. She shrugged and walked towards Freddy's room, feeling better now that she has calmed down and peered into his room. Strange, he was not standing in front of his mirror, at the window or sitting on his couch. She figured he was in the back part of his room.
She entered the room, looking around again before walking over to the door. "Freddy, are you in here?" She peered inside and to herself, she saw Freddy sitting on some boxes, he was rubbing his chin and he was in deep thought. "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I am. Sorry, did I worry you?" Freddy asked, looking up at her with his glowing optics. "I was just thinking about some things. But I am happy to see you super star! You are here to stay I here. Very good, I would be very sad right now if you were not here."
Saphira smiled at him and walked over to him, moving to sit on a box a little lower than him and rests her arms across her thighs. "Mind if I ask what you were thinking about? Don't tell me it was Dave, or the virus, or something…we need to not think about that."
"No, I definitely was not thinking about that at all. Actually…I was just thinking…" Freddy glanced up to the roof slightly and glanced down at the floor again, seeming very sad. "I worry what you said to me was just in the heat of the moment." Saphira frowned in confusion and opened her mouth to ask him when he interrupts her. "Did you mean what you said? Do you…do you really love me?"
Saphira widened her eyes in shock, she was surprised Freddy actually questioned that. Maybe it was cliché to say 'I love you' to someone after something tragic and traumatic, but it was sincere most of the time. "Of course I meant it." Saphira quickly stood up and moved to sit on his right thigh, looking at him with kind eyes. "I meant every word of it. I know…the feeling of love is kind of scary…you begin to think about the other person, you begin to question yourself if you are ever enough for them and…you start to feel like, there is nothing on this planet…but that person. As if gravity has lifted you off the ground to the moon."
Freddy listened to Saphira carefully, hearing her describe what the feeling of love was in the thoughts one has, he realized what she said was true. He was in love, and in love with her. He lifts his fingers gently, she shivered feeling his claws running around her arms gently, ones that once made her afraid. "I now realize my own feelings…I love you Saphira. I really do." He smiled at her kind, leaning forward slightly and Saphira glanced at his mouth for a moment, before being lost in his eyes. "I cherish every little moment we have together…especially when you let me into your world more. I hope you feel the same."
Saphira smiled and leaned closer to kiss his lips, she felt him respond in kind and she felt a soft moan from her chest. She moved away quickly, feeling herself blush as Freddy looked at her strangely. "I…I…everything so far…" She had paused for a second before she continued. "I don't regret anything. None of it. I told you, being in love with a human wasn't wrong. Same goes for me."
He chuckles softly, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her closer, making her blush even more. "That is music to my ears. Even more so than my own song."
"Really?" She was surprised as she thought he loved his song.
"Of course. The song we sing all the time, it is for the guests. But…what about you? A song, just for you." Saphira felt her heart fluttering and tears stinging slightly in her eyes, he was so nice. "I do not come up with the lyrics to the song we sing, I wish I could. It would be nice. But we are given the lyrics to sing."
"Sometimes songs are not hard to right, they just have to come from…" Saphira paused, placing a hand on Freddy's chest gently. "The heart."
Freddy nuzzled his nose into her head gently, feeling the strands of her hair on his nose and he wondered if her hair would have a nice scent once he gets his receptor. "I am upset Mr Hippo got to sing and dance with you properly first."
"You danced with me and Foxy," Saphira said with a smirk.
"Yeah…but that was just you cheering him up. I mean, dancing and singing properly…ya know…"
"Uh oh, is my dear Freddy jealous?" Saphira said in a sarcastic tone.
He frowns slightly at her. "I don't know…I have not felt that before…"
She giggled softly at him and kissed his lips again. "Maybe not, but you probably have now. Don't worry though, Mr Hippo only did that for some fun. And to show off his skills with his guitar. I guess you can't blame him. I don't think you've missed out any opportunity with me."
"Maybe not…" Freddy glanced towards the door for a moment. "Hmm…the doors close in fifteen minutes…"
"So?" Saphira moved her wrist to press buttons on the Fazwatch to check the cameras. "I can sit right here and check the pizzaplex right now. And no, I have not gone into the utility tunnels. I'm not ready to go back in there just yet."
"Well…I suppose Darren can't get mad at you…very well." Freddy chuckled softly and moved to stand, scooping her up properly into his arms. "We should move to the couch. It's a bit more comfortable."
She felt herself blushing, even though it was just an innocent suggestion from Freddy. She did not know if she would even want to go further with Freddy. She was a virgin after all. It was a scary thing to experience first time, much less first time by an animatronic. Still…she may get the courage eventually…it was just another hurdle. But, Freddy was still pretty clueless when it came to that stuff. She didn't know what he whispered to Bonnie while he was on the chair, but she did not want to ask. Freddy carried her over to the couch and sat down, sitting her on his lap to keep talking with her. Saphira did not mind, she shuffled up to lean against his warm chest. She did not care much that he was not a soft, cuddly bear like the plush toys in her office. To her, he was perfect the way he was. She and Freddy remain on the chair until ten minutes after twelve.
"Hey kid! Aren't you coming to the rehearsal room?" Roxy's irritated voice spoke through the Fazwatch, startling both Freddy and Saphira and making them both smirk at each other. "Are you smooching with Freddy right now or something? We have no time for that…hmmph…even though you still need some makeup on that face…anyway, just get down here!"
