The rest of the shift went by quietly. Saphira did managed to eat a salad from Salads and Sides, under the watchful eyes of Mr Hippo of course. After that, she spent time in the office alone looking over the old designs for Foxette, Orville, Pigpatch and Happy Frog, she memorized them in her mind because once she got home after her shift, the first thing she did was she began to sketch in an empty notepad. She worked on the new designs at home for an hour before going to bed and waking up several hours before her shift started to continue. She also bought a brand-new computer set up to use to create a code she hoped that would protect the animatronics from the virus, or at least push back against it. She knew it was risky on what she was going to do, but as far as she knew, this was war right now. She was prepared to fight and she already began to make plans. However, it definitely was something she intended on keeping it to herself mostly because if the virus knew she was up to something, things would definitely heat up.
Thursday, and it was the day she would see the new office. She was not excited by it at all. She was interested to see it, but that is it. When she arrived at the pizzaplex, she walked into the lobby and looked around to see where Darren was. She did expect that he would be the one to take her to the new office, considering she did not know where it would be. She spotted Darren sitting at one of the tables by the exit barriers and he waved her over. He was wearing a glitterly, grey suit and a bright blue stripe tie. Saphira walked over to him and noticed he looked like he was tired or strained at the moment.
"Evening Darren, I assume you will be showing me to my new office," Saphira said calmly as she stood by the table.
He nodded with a smile and moved to stand, he grimaces slightly, but she noticed he seemed uncomfortable. "Yeah, come with me, I will show you. You will probably like it a lot."
She shrugged as he walked towards the entry barriers and she followed him. "I dunno, I really liked my small office. I like small spaces that have all what I need. A big space can be overwhelming."
"That is a good way to look at things, but I am afraid you are no longer able to use that office." Darren led her towards the lobby stairs to head to the elevator. "I hope you had a good night last night. You seem to be cheerier today."
"I had a good sleep without any nightmares, that is why. Plus, I was doing a few things that I needed to do so that was good. And yes, I had a nice, quiet one last night." She observed Darren walking up the stairs, he seemed to be struggling as he walked and that made her a little concerned. "Are you…uhh…okay?"
He nodded and placed a finger to his lips. She realized this might have to something to do with what Mr Miller wanted to do with him. Saphira decided not to inquire further on the matter in case there were words exchanged that they were not meant to exchange.
Upon entering the elevator, Darren leaned on the wall of the elevator and looked at Saphira. "Let's just say when Mr Miller wants to give you the scoop, you will not be well for a few weeks. I will be fine, this isn't the first time that it first happened. Sadly, it's just another method of keeping me in line. According to him of course."
Saphira shuddered a little because whatever it was, didn't sound good. Especially if Darren was in this much pain, that meant it was a name for something that really hurts. Saphira did not want to know what it was because she didn't want to picture it.
"I hope painkillers help," Saphira said as she looked at the doors, waiting for them to open to the atrium.
He simply nodded quietly before the doors of the elevator open. "Alright, let me take you to your new office. Don't worry, it is easy to get to." Saphira would wait to see it before making that assumption. "You get an elevator to your new room." Really? Was this office always there? "No one has gotten to use that office Mr Miller always said that office was saved for a special night guard."
"I don't like the sound of that," Saphira muttered as she walked on the second balcony. Darren was leading her down to the bottom atrium floor again. She glanced towards her old office, she was going to miss it. "What will happen to the old office?"
"Not sure yet, I haven't been told to go advertising for another security guard, but I honestly think we just need one. You're super efficient in your work and you are great with the animatronics, I don't think we need another." Darren smiled slightly at her as he kept walking. At least someone thought that way.
But Saphira knew that the virus said it had someone coming. She had no idea who that might be. She was going to be extremely suspicious of any new employees. "Hmm, well, I suppose that is a good thing."
Saphira went silent for a moment and watched Darren open a purple staff door into a grey, lit hallway. She felt herself nearly freeze seeing it, she could see the elevator ahead, however she hoped this was not the only way in and out of the pizzaplex. That would most certainly make her anxiety and paranoia worse.
"It's okay Saphira. You should be safe." Darren's tone tried to comfort Saphira, though it was a bit hard as she was already frightened by the hallway that was rather too long for her liking. "Hey, if it makes you feel better, there is a direct connection to Parts and Service from the room and Rockstar Row as well. Not just access to the animatronic mainframe and staff bot systems."
It didn't really, but at least she knew there were other ways out. "I guess I better see this new room of mine." She stepped into the hallway and walked briskly towards the elevator like something bad was following her. "But I ain't waiting for anything to show up."
Darren did not blame her. He was unable to match her pace due to how uncomfortable and in pain he was in. However, when they reached the elevator, Saphira pressed the button and stepped in with him. She raised an eyebrow when the music played in the elevator, it sounded joyous and harmonious compared to what were in the regular elevators. She didn't know if she liked it much. It sounded…she didn't know the right word to think of…too pushy with comfort. She wasn't sure. But she hated it.
"Could the music in this elevator be changed?" Saphira asked, glancing at Darren curiously as they wait for the doors to open.
"Um…you would have to request that through Mr Miller. Sorry, I have no control on this area." Darren shrugged and looked at the doors when the elevator dings and the doors open. "Oooh, wow, it is really nice…"
Stepping out into her new office, Saphira was rather surprised. This room felt different from any room in the pizzaplex. First of all, it was a large area with an office area, kitchen and even a living room space…Mr Miller failed to mention that. The furniture here appeared to be really high quality, the fabric on the lounges themselves were easy to maintain, high quality and they seemed to be new. The carpet in the living room space was neon blue, extremely fluffy and soft to feel on the feet. Saphira would have to hope the animatronics wouldn't ruin it with their claws unintentionally. The coffee table appeared to be made of mahogany, Saphira grimaced at the thought of house much that cost. The kitchen itself, while it had a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee and soda machines, the cabinets and benchtops were really high quality. The tops appeared to be marble, Saphira was not sure though. The tiles of the kitchen and office area were marble and she saw specks of rose gold woven into the tiles, she wasn't sure though. The fridge was a French door, she didn't know why it was necessary, with an ice dispenser. Her office area was a large space, giving her the same monitor setup with an update scrolling system and a brand-new computer. She did notice a sunbed at the end, and to her surprise, it had claw feet on it. Somebody was trying way too hard to impress her, there were no sign of Fazbear symbols or neon lights anywhere.
"This is a bit much…" Saphira comments, walking around the space in disbelief. "I don't even want to know what the bathroom…" She walked over to the door with the bathroom symbol on it and opened it. "Seriously? It's almost like Mr Miller made this office so the night guard could stay."
"Seems that way…is the bathroom small or big?" Darren asked curiously as he walked over to a chair at the small dining table between the kitchen and office to sit at.
"Uhh…a spa bath with silver claw feet is a little over the top if ask me." Saphira shakes her head and closed the door with a sigh. "Honestly, this feels way too much for an office…what is Mr Miller thinking. I don't need this stuff. It…it's poor taste to me."
"A spa?" Darren stood up with a grunt and walked over to the door and opened it, widening his eyes. "And a shower large enough for a single human and an animatronic…you're not kidding."
Saphira didn't know if she should panic or not, this seemed like a lure and she wasn't falling for it. "I might make a request to move back to the small office."
"I would advise against that…he hates it when people don't do as they are told. I hate to see what he would do to you. Besides, there are no cameras here either." That was little comfort because the virus could still bother her even without the cameras. "Plus, Moon can be kept from using the elevator by simply shutting it off when the lights go out."
That was handy, but if there were ways to get into the office via Rockstar Row and Parts and Service, then it was likely Moon will use those. "Thanks for the little warning Darren. Hopefully we both see this through safely."
"But, you will be able to request the change of the elevator music, I highly doubt it would bother him. But he will be irritated by the request. Though if I were you, just try and enjoy the new space, the animatronics will need to be shown here if they wish to come here to the room." Darren looked around at the big office space, he was a little upset the other offices were not as nice as this, but he knew this was simply a lure for the night guard. Especially with what Saphira had gone through. "Alright, I will leave you to it. Your shift is in thirty minutes anyway so just relax. I imagine the fridge and pantries are full with things for you to nibble on anyway."
Darren walked towards the elevator to leave. Saphira opened the fridge and rolled her eyes, Darren was right. The man noticed and he simply gave her a thumbs up of encouragement before the doors closed in front of him. Saphira definitely was overwhelmed by this large space, and it was saved for Mr Miller's favorite night guard…that really does not sound like a great combination. Nonetheless, Saphira would not make a huge complaint about it. Last thing she needed was to get on Mr Miller's badside.
She glanced at the other doors of the office, they all were labelled on where they lead to. She looked at the animatronic mainframe and staff bot system door, she walked towards it as she decided to see what the animatronic mainframe looked like. When she opened the door, she let out a shrill gasp because she thought she stepped onto a spaceship. And she wasn't kidding. There was a metal bridge connecting to both mainframe and staff bot system, it was suspended with small holes in the design. Around her it felt like a large, concrete cylinder with green lights lighting the walls, and it was far down. The railings were no higher that the chest, it could be climbed over and stepped through, it was not idea at all. And she was surprised by the cold air moving around in this. Below she could see many more bridges leading to other parts of the pizzaplex she was not familiar with. However, it was a very, very long way down if she was to jump because she could not see the bottom.
Freaky…just how big is this pizzaplex?!
Saphira found herself walking very carefully across the bridge as if she feared it would break suddenly and make her fall to her death. Thankfully, there was no sound of creaking to worry about because that would definitely set her paranoia off. She sighed in relief once she reached the animatronic mainframe and she pressed the button to the door to open. She was surprised by how dark it was inside, there were some dim, white lights all around, but she had to turn her flashlight on. She couldn't see any light switch, however, she saw how big it was. Each animatronic had massive, multiple hardware connected to them, most likely to deal with the powerful AI they had within them. They were all individually connected to a huge, central area with two-meter-tall systems that likely carried their memories and personalities and so on. She was rather overwhelmed by it. Each animatronic had a large monitor as well, and she walked over to Freddy's monitor and she was able to see the code his system has, along with thoughts and personality. She observed it quietly as she wanted to see how it functioned. It felt like seeing into his brain essentially, she tried not to pay much attention to his thoughts, but she did often see her name come up and him wanting to make things right with her. She found that extremely sweet and endearing, she definitely hoped not to stumble on anything that she was not supposed to see. But other than that, she made a mental note on it and looked at Bonnie's next. Same thing, she saw nothing strange at all. But she did quickly work out how complex their code was. It was very, very complex and she wondered how complex the virus was to try and combat it.
She walked over to Mr Hippo's mainframe monitor to check it curiously. She hummed a little, it was a little different. The code seemed different to Freddy and Bonnie's, she didn't know if it was because he was designed that way, or that was the reason why he was able to keep the virus from controlling him. However, she did take mental notes on how it was different and if it could be added to the other animatronic systems so they could be protected. She hoped for that, but at least she could create a code to try and protect them from the virus. The next was to check Foxette, Orville, Pigpatch and Happy Frog. When she approached them, she saw they were still live. She hummed as she looked at them, their personalities were still there it would seem according to the code. The thoughts coming through were questions about their bodies and if they were deactivated. Foxette's system had the repeat of I am still here in her thoughts, it looked like she was shouting it at the top of her lungs. There was no way for her to communicate to them that she was there to help them unfortunately. She wished she could, but it was best she didn't as well.
Sun and Moon were next, and to her surprise, they did have separate system monitors that connected into hard drives that contained their memories. She looked between them thoughtfully, she saw Sun's system had a similar code pattern to Mr Hippo whereas Moon's was not the same. However, as she studied them she noticed that Moon's code appeared to have what looked like DNA symbol-like strands within the code, showing this was likely the virus in question controlling him. His thoughts were jumbled up, in fact, it looked like he was talking and responding to himself. That really told her a lot. She looked at each of their system and found they did have ports in them, so hooking a computer up to them wasn't an issue. Good. At least that was something.
She glanced at DJ Music Man's system monitor, and to her shock, he had the same DNA symbol-like code in his code as well. She didn't know if that was recent or if it was always there, but…that was not good. The idea of him chasing her definitely did not sit well in her mind. Nonetheless, she would try and ensure that she would not make him mad, or at the very least, give Music Man a chance to try and go after her.
At least now she knew what to expect and she could come back to keep memorizing it so she could create a code that would not harm the system, or even be noticed in the system to keep them protected, and maybe kick the virus out of both Moon and DJ Music Man's systems. That was ideal. She left the room, her eyes wince at the bright green lights and she glanced towards the staff bot system. The animatronics were aware of it, she didn't know if there was another access to it. She glanced at her Fazwatch to see she had thirty minutes left.
Plenty of time.
Saphira walked to the door and opened it, she was not surprised by the heat radiating from it and all the lights in the dark were kept it well lit. There were so many circuit boards around that she didn't know what they were for. But, there was a monitor with keyboards so she assumed that was where changes were made to the staff bots. She looked at the monitor curiously to see she could click the different staff bots that the system controlled. She hummed and clicked the Map Bot system and looked through the coding curiously. It seemed that it indeed was programmed to push maps onto guests aggressively. She shakes her head, it was so ridiculous that it could do that. But before she did anything more, the screen suddenly goes black and the image of a man dressed in rabbit costume, waving at her appeared, glowing a dark purple with the eyes glowing a bright purple. On screen, white letters began to appear.
You've finally made it! Good girl! I knew you could do it!
Saphira frowned and rolled her eyes as she read that, this virus was really getting on her nerves. She folded her arms for a minute before she typed back to him.
I am not sure what you are trying to achieve here.
She looked at the screen and watched the rabbit seem to laugh and gasped when speakers around her began to make sounds of whispering. She was quick to place her hands over her ears to ignore the whispers, no way was she going to be brainwashed to kill people.
You think you are in control don't you? I will get you, just you wait. Just waiting for the right piece to be played for checkmate!
Saphira did not know what that meant, but she didn't remove her hands from her ears as the whispering got louder. She turned away and ran to the door, sighing with relief when it opened and closed behind her. She moved her palms away from her ears and glanced back at the door to glare at. She was glad she didn't fall for that, he was going to try keep her talking while whispering to her. She did wander what the whispers were saying, but it wasn't something she wanted to hear.
"Saphira, are you here?" Freddy's voice speaking through the Fazwatch made Saphira jump and she placed a hand to her chest, stepping forward so she could walk back into the new office. "I am back in my room. I know your new office gives you access to Rockstar Row. Could you show me?"
She entered the office and smiled, glancing down at the Fazwatch. "I am not yet clocked in Freddy, I got…twenty minutes…and I don't even know myself yet. The entry from the atrium was bad enough."
"Oh? You know where that is?" Freddy asked curiously, she knew he wanted to come and see the office.
Saphira knew he shouldn't though, not while guests were still here. She took a seat at the desk and opened the drawers to see what was in them. "It's a purple staff door next to Rockstar Row."
"I've seen that one before! I never saw anyone use it. It must be a very special office." Freddy could say that again. Saphira widened her eyes when she saw a folder name To Be Approved and pulled it out to find there were sketches of plans for things that needed approval from her. "Do you like your new office?"
"To tell you the truth, I don't. It's got way too much." Saphira opened the folder curiously and hummed a little as she gazed at the first page. "I thought the stuff for the new area above the lobby was approved…"
"Huh? Oh! Yes and no, apparently Darren said there were changes made up there and he needs approval from you. The spaces are ready for two small attractions, a restaurant and a store. How did you know anyway?"
"I found a folder here…" Saphira looked at the options thoughtfully. "Interesting. Chica Chowder was going to go there before, so I am going to ensure it will. Foxy and Foxette Romance? Oh, it's a store where people can buy really nice gifts for their loved ones. Candles, flowers…nice, plus a Fazbear only range of outfits that are not found at the salon along with perfumes, colognes and so on."
"That sounds…really nice. A nice way to remember Foxette as well, not just with the bar." Saphira couldn't agree, so she would approve that one. She needed to work out how to now. "But what is it about the office you don't like Saphira?"
"It's just…Darren told me this office was meant for a special night guard…"
"You are special, super star!" Freddy interrupts enthusiastically before Saphira could finish her sentence.
"Yeeeeaaahhh…the thing is though…that's creepy. I don't like it." She shakes her head as she spoke to him while looking at the small attraction options. "I know you may not understand. It's just…I don't know."
"Mr Miller is a good man Saphira. He saw in you potential, that is why you have earned it!" Freddy's encouraging words were nice, Saphira knew she would need to tell him her suspicions of Mr Miller. But for now, she would just figure out a plan. "What are the attraction options for the new area?"
"A seahorse carousel…I might approve that one. And…ooh…I just noticed there could be a new area to Monty Golf. Monty's Driving Range."
"What is that?"
"It is literally something where people can go to practice their golf, and I mean real golf and see how far they can hit it. I think that's a good idea. Anyway…onto the second attraction…" Saphira hummed to herself. "Hungry Hippos?" She looked at the design a little more closely and chuckled softly. "Oh, I see. It's literally giant hungry hippos designed after Mr Hippo with prizes and such. That sounds fun." She looked through the drawers for an approval folder and found one. One for the new area above the lobby, the atrium and current attractions. "At least it shouldn't take much. Feels like it has been pushed back too much."
"Apparently they found blood stains up there…" Her eyes widen when Freddy told her the reason. "So, it was thoroughly cleaned and such…we don't know who died up there. But…yeah…you saw Dave up there wearing a different suit at the time in blood stains. So…yeah…"
She was never told that. But that made her shudder at the thought of Cliffton dying up there, yet she didn't know how that would be possible. "Fair enough…I guess that makes sense. Oh! Clock on time!" She logged into the computer to clock in for her shift. "I'll do my usual rounds, look through more of these ideas and I'll come down to Rockstar Row. I hope it's a nicer walk than from the atrium."
"You make it sound like it is scary."
"Well…it's a long hallway with just plain white light…that is ominous to me. I know it's probably just me being paranoid…but I can't help it. Too many things have happened in such a short time for me not to think of that." Saphira looked up at the monitors with a sigh to begin looking for any strange activity. "Then it is rehearsals again tonight."
"Yep, sure is. We are looking forward to it, as always," Freddy chuckled lightly at that. "You also sound like yourself tonight. That is really good to hear. I know you might still be recovering, so we won't push it."
She smiled, Freddy was definitely happy she sounded more like herself tonight. She probably did simply because she was putting in effort to try to protect them and to fight the virus. It already tried brainwashing her, and she walked out before it could do anything else harmful. However, as she scoped out the pizzaplex, she saw the computer screen turn black with a cursor on it. She rolled her eyes.
Well played, little thing, you don't fall for my tricks do you? That is going to change soon. You have no idea what I have in store for you. So just sit back and enjoy the ride…
