Sorry for the hiatus. Had rather bad writer's block for this story. I already have the rest of the story in mind, so don't worry. I will begin writing more chapters more regularly for this story. Thanks for your patience readers.
Bonnie had his eyes closed as Saphira had a frown on her face as she focused on removing the damage joints and wiring that needed to be removed. She knew she could not simply just repair the hatch with the current state of the hatch, and Bonnie had to endure this. The pain was not unbearable, but it was uncomfortable. The animatronic did not flinch at all however. Saphira's masterful hands were at work, and he had every confidence that she would be able fix the hatch just fine. He did worry it might eat into the rehearsal time, but she would not really care so long as he was repaired.
Saphira was working on removing the wires first. They were the first concern for her as she focused on carefully removing the damaged wires, making sure that none of the other undamaged wiring remain undamaged. It was a very delicate task, but Saphira had gotten used to the animatronics during the months she has known them, and was familiar with how they work now. So it really was quick work. She couldn't really remove the damage joints without removing the wiring first anyway.
Saphira placed the damaged wiring onto the lowered tray from above and began working on removing the joints. She knew that she might have to take the stomach hatch off in order to make full repairs of the hatch itself, but she did not mind needing to do that, so that Bonnie would be in working condition again. She also hoped to find joints that were stronger, even though it was unlikely for a kid to snap the joints of the stomach hatch in the near future, but it was a just in case.
As Saphira continued to work on Bonnie's hatch, carefully removing the bolts and damaged joints, she did think on what she would do later that night. She had every intention of freeing Sun and Moon from Glitchtrap, along with DJ Music Man. She did wonder when the best time to free them from him would be. She knew that Glitchtrap takes over Moondrop fully when the lights go out, so it might be the best time. But the next thing would be to clear Glitchtrap from the entire pizzaplex system.
And Saphira had not quite found the main computer frame just yet. She had an idea of where it might be located, but she knew that she had to find the right hard drives of the pizzaplex system to clear Glitchtrap from it. She did not think plugging her computer into another one would do the job. She had to go straight to the source. But she would have to work more on the code itself to obliterate Glitchtrap from the system. She did not know how Springtrap would even react to not having an advantage anymore.
Saphira smiled as she finally removed what needed to be removed and grabbed new wiring to replace the damaged wiring. She knew that Bonnie was flinching from pain, but she was going as quickly as she could. She knew he wanted to go to rehearsals later, even though she knew it wasn't the most important thing to do for the night. She hummed softly as she carefully attached the new wires and making sure they would not fall off. Even some of the more delicate lines. Once she had the new lines attached, she was able to shut of the pain and Bonnie relaxed when he no longer felt the pain.
"That feels much better," Bonnie said with a sigh of relief. "You really have the best hands for this job. It is going to be interesting to see how Darren is even going to cope when you are further along in your pregnancy." Saphira did not disagree with him as she now focused on attaching new joint pieces. She grabbed a small, screwdriver to screw something back into place. "So…when is your birthday again?" Saphira didn't respond, she only gave him a raised eyebrow before looking back into the hatch. "I think Freddy has quite the idea on making your birthday special. I know you probably don't even want to think about your birthday, but it is something to celebrate."
Saphira was not surprised. But the problem was, she has never celebrated her birthday. She has gone through so much abuse in her young years, she really didn't know how to celebrate her birthday. She would certainly be happy if it was acknowledged, but a party was something she wasn't sure about. She would be twenty-one this year, and she knew that she may or may not even be feeling the best when her birthday comes around.
She kept her mind focused on fixing the joints. She attached the new pieces and began attaching the bigger joints so that the hatch could be in place without issue, and she hoped it could open and close just fine. But they were in Parts and Service, so if there is an issue with the hatch itself, she could certainly do something to fix it. She did wonder what Freddy was doing now. She knew that the guests might still be in the pizzaplex, but she was too busy to really look at the time and she was almost done.
After five minutes, Saphira sighed in relief and slid off the chair. "Alright, let's get the casing back on and we can test the hatch out." Bonnie smiled as Saphira grabbed down the console to press the buttons to put the casing back on. Once it was back, Saphira scanned his body for any errors. She saw there wasn't any, but she knew she had to be sure. "Alright, Bonnie, I want you to test the hatch and we will see if I need to do any improvement."
Bonnie nodded as he opened the hatch. It sounded and looked like it was smooth and back to normal. He closed it again before opening and closing it again. "Hmm…it feels just fine." He repeated the action and looked at Saphira with a smile. "I think we are good to go."
"Wonderful." Saphira looked back at the console to go through the diagnostics to make sure everything was correct. She pressed the correct colors in order and it was done. She glanced at her Fazwatch and she saw it was fifteen minutes until twelve. "And it is almost midnight. I guess we should just head to the rehearsal hall."
Bonnie nodded as he sat up from the chair as Saphira walked out of the cylinder and over to the computer to complete the report to confirm that Bonnie was repaired. Once she was done, she looked at Bonnie as he walked out. "I am going to miss not being able to do this when my stomach gets too big." He looked at her with a grin as he knew she was going to repeat that a lot. "And I am going to try to beat Springtrap."
"I know. But you know you have to be careful, we all have to be. Springtrap seems to be ahead of us regardless." Bonnie looked towards the doors as he knew that Saphira could get dragged into the basement while she is in Parts and Service at any time. "Just focus on trying to keep healthy, Saphira."
"Yeah…" Saphira nodded before she walked towards the side door. "I'll meet you in the rehearsal hall. I need to make use of the bathroom."
"You sure you wouldn't appreciate the company on the way to the rehearsal hall?" Bonnie asked as he followed her.
"I think I will be fine, Bonnie. But you can cut through the office since it'll be quicker going this way than back to your room. But…" She glanced at her Fazwatch and looked back at Bonnie. "You can't really be walking around until after twelve, so it is up to you if you want to come with me to the office."
Bonnie chuckled softly as Saphira opened the door and walked up the stairs towards the office. "Which, in a way, means that you will have me to go with you to the rehearsal hall." He noticed Saphira looking at her Fazwatch to see where the others are. "I think Freddy is back in room, so is Mr Hippo and Orville…pretty much everyone is, except me for the moment."
She chuckled softly as she was checking the cameras with the Fazwatch and she looked at him. "I know. I was just checking, seeing it is still part of my job and all to make sure that everyone is back in their room. If Vanessa asks, I'll just tell her I'm still busy in Parts and Service."
"I suppose that is true." Bonnie watched as Saphira opened the door to the office and walked inside. "Though…I don't think she will care much. She is working for Springtrap, after all, and she probably has to keep a close eye on you." She nodded again in agreement as she walked over to the bathroom and closed the door behind her to use it. Bonnie stayed close to the door so he could talk to Saphira. "Now that we were here, I am curious about what plan you have to tackle Springtrap."
"Well…I really can't come out and just straight up tell you, Bonnie," Saphira said loudly as she sat on the toilet. "Mostly because Glitchtrap is in the system, and not all of you are protected like Mr Hippo, Orville, Foxette, Happy Frog and Pigpatch are. I actually still worry he will try to take over you guys." It was a fear Saphira had as she knew that Glitchtrap could take over the animatronics if he wanted to like he did Moon and DJ Music Man. "And he could find out my plan if he taps into the animatronic system. Sorry. All I can tell you is I am going to…take things slow, small and tackle one issue at a time. I believe doing that will be the best thing."
"I am not sure what that means, but I believe you." Bonnie looked at the screens thoughtfully, not really caring on what was on the monitors before he saw something. "Oh…uh…whenever you finish, Saphira. Um…I think I see…uh, my eyes…" Saphira tried to finish as quickly as she could, though she really couldn't. "I thought I saw a woman in a rabbit suit dragging a body."
"I hope you're kidding…" Saphira sighed loudly as she finished and cleaned herself up before flushing the toilet and washing her hands. "That woman found another victim. And it seems, whatever technology she's using, it can still affect you through the cameras, somehow."
"Sorry."
She opened the door and stepped out with a smile. "It is not your fault." She walked over to the desk and looked at the screens with a frown. She saw the trail of blood, but she did not see Vanessa, the woman dressed in the rabbit costume or the victim. She lifts the Fazwatch to open the communication with Vanessa to see if she would get a response. "Hey Vanessa, are you doing a round of the pizzaplex? I think I saw something strange in the atrium, and I was wondering if you can check it out?" No response and Saphira sighed in irritation.
"I think we should head to the rehearsal hall," Bonnie said gently, gesturing to the elevator to go to the atrium. Saphira sighed as she flipped through the cameras to see if there was anything unusual. Bonnie knew it was her job, but he worried she was trying to find something else. "I'll be waiting there."
Saphira just nodded as she sat on the chair and waited for the elevator to close. When Bonnie was gone, she grabbed out her laptop and opened it. She wanted to double and triple check the anti-virus she had made would work on Moon and DJ Music Man. She knew it might only work on one and not the other, so she would need to work on the program some more. However, it might also only work when the lights were out. Saphira wanted to get Sun free from this torment. But she couldn't do that right now.
She closed the laptop and hid it again before she stood up before feeling a sudden wave of nausea. She grimaced and raced into the bathroom and heaved heavily into the toilet. She felt awful as she had been thinking about eating something before, and now she had to feel the wave of morning sickness again. She was somewhat glad that Bonnie left, but she also felt bad because she may not even be able to get to the rehearsal hall.
It took a couple minutes before she finished heaving and she did not feel like she needed to throw up more. She sighed deeply and flushed the toilet before splashing water on her face. She hoped the animatronics would not notice something was off about her. But she looked in the mirror and saw her face was pale. She shrugged and figured she would be fine regardless. She made sure she looked as refreshed as she possibly could before she left the office and stepped into the elevator.
Once she reached the lower floor, she walked down the long hallway into the atrium and looked around the bright room and turned to head to the rehearsal. She glanced around, wondering if she could spot the woman in the rabbit suit. She evil looked around for the blood trail, as the woman or Vanessa had dragged the body through the atrium. But there was no blood. The staff bots had already cleaned up the evidence.
She sighed deeply and continued to walk through the atrium until she reached the door to the rehearsal hall. When she entered, she gasped in surprise when she saw Freddy standing waiting for me. "Evening, super star. I…apologize…but I wanted to be the first to see you tonight. Even though I heard the issue regarding Bonnie. I still cannot believe a kid is capable of snapping the joints of our stomach hatches. It has me a little concerned too."
Saphira smiled at him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I think it was just one of those moments, Freddy. It probably won't happen again. Besides…" She moved closer and moved her arms around his waist, smiling up at him. "They would have to deal with me if anyone managed to damage you, Freddy."
"I have no doubt about that." He winked at her before whispering. "Oh, and Vanessa is here." Saphira widened her eyes and released her hug from him suddenly. "It would be best if we did not show affection in front of her."
Saphira sighed deeply in irritation that the woman was here, but she decided to compose herself. "I guess she disposed of whoever she killed and came here." She knew she could not do anything. Vanessa often acted like she didn't know anything, so Saphira didn't really speak with her about it. "Oh well." She smiled at him and noticed he was looking at her curiously. "What? Is something…"
"You look pale." She blinked and shrugged a little. "You were sick." She nodded and walked around him. "I suppose you are feeling okay. But do let us know if you need to take a break. Darren will be able to handle the general maintenance for us tonight since you already helped Bonnie."
Saphira smirked as she glanced at Freddy. "I will be fine. Now go and get ready, Freddy. We don't need to delay the rehearsal, even though there is almost nothing wrong whenever we do this." The animatronic nodded with a smile and made his way to the stage. She saw Vanessa sitting in a seat beside the sound system and Saphira rolled her eyes as she made her way over. "I see you decided to sit in."
The woman looked up at her with a grin as Saphira took a seat. "I enjoy the music. Even though it isn't the big, amazing show that they put on every Friday and Saturday, I still enjoy it. Plus, I get to see you work."
"And yet, you should be making your round through the pizzaplex to make sure we don't have any stragglers," Saphira said bluntly. "Even though you already found one."
"Beg your pardon?" The woman raised an eyebrow at Saphira in surprise. "I don't know what you are talking about." Saphira ignored her as she made sure the sound system was ready and she looked at the animatronics as they stood there waiting. "Whatever…I'll go do the round of the pizzaplex while you and Darren do some general maintenance afterwards. Does that sound good?"
"Yeah, it is fine." Saphira gave the animatronics a thumbs up and began to play the music and looked at the diagnostics to watch for anything unusual. "I have more things to worry about than deal with you being lazy."
The woman said nothing, she only made an annoyed scoff as she enjoyed the music and the singing from the animatronics. Saphira could see there was nothing to be concerned about and she was happy to see that. It allowed her to relax a little bit and enjoy the music. Still, as she sat there listening to the animatronics, her mind did start to wander a bit. After all, she wanted to rid Glitchtrap from Moondrop tonight. And she did not know what consequences that could bring to her from doing that.
She was sure that Glitchtrap would be angry, but she did not know if Springtrap would be angry. After all, it would be a first step in ridding the pizzaplex system of the virus completely, along with getting rid of the Princess Quest arcade games that are still brainwashing people and making them go into the basement where they are killed and eaten by Springtrap. However, being three months along in her pregnancy, she really didn't have a lot of time before it would be time to give birth.
And while she was told she would be pregnant for longer than nine months, she didn't want to take the chance. She had at least six months to get rid of them before she gave birth, and she knew she had to try and get over any of the hormonal changes that will definitely get in her way. This mostly meant the need for sleep. She already felt more tired than she had before, and she was trying not to get stressed, but that was hard as well.
When the song came to an end, Saphira quickly applauded them with a smile. "Everything is running smoothly." She glanced to the right and saw Vanessa had disappeared, and she didn't even notice her moving. "That woman has an uncanny ability…"
"She left about ten seconds ago," Foxette said as she walked towards Saphira with a smile. "I notice you seem to be doing a lot of thinking. I guess you can't really help it." She nodded and stood up from the chair. "I haven't heard from Darren today, have you?"
"Yes, I have," Saphira said affirmatively. "He was talking to be about some stuff regarding the pizzaplex itself. I had thought he would be here, but I guess he got caught up with work." She lifts her arm and pressed the buttons on the Fazwatch. "Hey, Darren. The animatronics are a little worried, are you doing okay?"
"Yes, I am. Um…a little weird that the animatronics can't reach me." Darren was very surprised when Saphira spoke to him. "Sorry that I couldn't reach you, I…I was having to deal with a bit of paperwork, and I couldn't get to the rehearsal. But I know you have that down, so I figured it would be fine. I am actually on my way to Parts and Service for maintenance."
"That is good to hear," Saphira said with a smile of relief. "I'll look into why you can't reach the animatronics, and why they can't reach you. But I assume I know the reason for that regardless." Darren sighed in relief as he was worried himself. "Bonnie won't need maintenance, I've already done that. His stomach hatch was broken by some stupid kid today, and I had to deal with that, but I will send the animatronics who need maintenance down to Parts and Service for you."
"I am glad that you will do that, but I hope you can fix my communication with the animatronics. I don't like that I am cut off from them…which is strange, since I would assume Glitchtrap would do that to you." Saphira nodded in agreement, but it didn't matter. "Oh well, if it's just an actual glitch that can be fixed, that's no problem. Plus, I can always get another Fazwatch."
"Mademoiselle, I need to have some maintenance tonight," Orville said politely as he approached her. "My ears don't move anymore…and it is a little ennuyeux. I hope Darren can handle a small fix like that."
"I think he can," Saphira said confidently. "At least you know Orville Elephant is coming down."
"Indeed I do. I am here and waiting."
She smiled as Darren cut off communication and she glanced at Orville as he walked past her and looked at the other animatronics. "Well…does anyone else need to go down to Parts and Service?"
Chica raised her hand shyly. "Yeah…confetti got stuck in my beak and I accidentally pushed it further in, now it's driving me nuts. I'll head on down now."
Saphira chuckled softly and she glanced at Mr Hippo and Pigpatch as they walk by. "Are you both heading down?"
"Oh, no. We are going to have a little private time." Mr Hippo smiled at her as she grinned at them. "Vanessa is still near, so we cannot just walk around, as you already know."
"Yeah…" Saphira looked at Freddy as he stood nearby. "Do you need to head down to Parts and Service, Freddy?" He shakes his head and she smiled. "Wonderful! I could use the company while I do some digging on a few things."
Freddy's face lit up immediately and he stepped forward excitedly. "I am delighted to come with you back to the office. I know I cannot stay as long as I'd like, but I will keep you company for as long as I am able to."
Saphira hugged him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Excellent!" She giggled softly and turned to leave the room. "I don't really care that Vanessa is around, and I am meant to be her manager, so she doesn't really get a say."
"I suppose that is true." Freddy walked behind her as he listened to her. "But we still do not know if she is the one luring people away for Springtrap. For all we know, she is simply a lookout during the day, and there is another person dressed in that rabbit costume you've mentioned. I still have not seen it."
"I know, but I just don't want to always be tiptoeing around this woman. This place has been my second home for months before she came along. But…she wasn't here when I was…except for when she pushed me into the basement." She still resented Vanessa for doing that. She ended up pregnant because of that. "I still cannot believe I'll be twenty-one soon and all of this has happened in such a short time."
"I know, and we can only try to make things easier for you." Freddy moved closer to her and placed a hand on her back gently as she and him walk into the atrium, and the other animatronics follow as they were heading back to Rockstar Row and Glam Corner. "But that won't stop us from giving you a great birthday party. Your birthday date is in the pizzaplex system and we all know when it is." Saphira sighed a little as she still was not happy about it. "I know you are not a fan of birthday parties, but is me and your best friends who are celebrating it, not your former family."
"I know…but that part of me will always be there." Saphira really did not want to discuss it. However, the lights go out suddenly and she tensed. "Oh damn!" She smiled a little and leaned in and whispered to Freddy. "I've been waiting for Moon to come out and play."
Freddy looked at her with a frown. "Why is that?"
"You will see." Saphira walked away from Freddy quickly as she walked to the staff door to head back to the office. "Just…don't block him, alright?" Freddy glanced at the other animatronics with a frown as they were confused. "You will see, it will be good."
Freddy seemed unconvinced and followed Saphira. "You know the elevator may not work."
"I know, but that is okay." Saphira heard the squeaks of familiar limbs and looked up to see Moon dancing on the third-floor railing. He was laughing and she entered the hallway. "This is the only time I can do something."
Freddy still did not know what Saphira meant as she walked briskly to the elevator and he followed her. He did not wish to leave her alone while Moon was out to play. He knew she had a plan to free him from Glitchtrap, but he had no idea what she planned. Thankfully, the elevator was still working and they went up to the office together. Mr Hippo did ask about joining them, but Saphira declined and said she had this under control, but the animatronics were still unconvinced. Especially as Moon was already making his way to the office to torment her.
